@expandcontract I have some pregnancy safe antacids that I got in a bump box. I’m going to try that and see if it helps. And yes, no more lifting Stuart!
Confirmed: This fun new symptom is definitely heartburn. I don’t like it and I hate the chalky antacids. Baby better have a FULL head of hair if I’m putting up with this! 😂😂
^ I wouldn’t say mine felt like choking, necessarily, but I definitely didn’t want to eat while it was happening. Acid reflux is awful. Zantac 150 is pregnancy safe, you could try one next time you’re feeling that way! I took one twice a day my first pregnancy, blah.
@DuchessOfCambridge I had to look up the symptoms because I’ve never had it before! One way they described it is exactly how I fee; like I have food stuck in my throat or chest. I guess that’s why I feel like I’m “choking”. I took two antacids this morning and it went away for a while, but came back after a couple hours. 🤷🏽♀️ Better than nausea and throwing up, I guess.

Yes, like food stuck in chest or throat! Ugh I’m sorry, it’s awful. Idk if Zantac was what you tried but it worked sooooo much better for me than Tums. If I forgot to take a Zantac before bed I’d wake up in the middle of the night from the reflux pain but I could sleep through if I took it! Sorry if I’m seeing really pushy, I just like to help. But I’m not a dr so i probably shouldn’t be like here take this 😂
@mrskoz428, talk to your doc about an acid reducer. I, personally, take Prevacid even when I'm not pregnant and it helps. In the meantime, if you don't want to eat chalk, I find milk or ice cream (non chocolate, of course) also helps. I've been chugging a lot of milk this pregnancy.
@mrskoz428 I'm sorry you're dealing with heartburn already!! Your description really helped me lol. I had acid reflux last pregnancy which is caused by the same hormones but my husband's description of heartburn was always so weird to me since it wasn't like my reflux but it's exactly what you're describing. For me, the stomach acid literally wants to come back up and would wake me up in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, it will probably only get worse (mine is there but not waking me up yet) as the pregnancy goes on. It wasn't that bad for me last time so I just ate almonds to neutralize my stomach a bit but sounds like you'll want something stronger. And DD had a full head of gorgeous red hair at birth
@kvh22 sadly, yes. Food is so unappealing! It’s worse than the morning sickness. Hopefully my midwife on Friday can help me because I almost vomit when I do the chalky thing.
@expandcontract I'll have to try that! I'm embarrassed to say that if I start throwing up even right after I pee I find some sort of mystical hoard of pee that works its way out... Definitely not fun.
@thebobloblaw will definitely need to try those! @bgdwg my skin has been a lot oilier than normal and my acne is terrible because of it! I found a natural product from Neutrogena that removes make up and gently cleans the face without the nasty parabans they ask us to avoid. It has helped tremendously!
Guys, my morning sickness is over! Yay! I mean, it's like 80% resolved but still. I'm feeling so much better. But now that the nausea is gone my appetite (which was already out of control anyway) has doubled. I literally couldn't stop eating yesterday. Doesn't help that we got tons of free food from Halloween community events we attended. All you can eat pizza? Yes, please. $4 Chipotle? Bring it on. Raiding the 3 year old's candy bucket? Don't mind if I do.
I just got an acne explosion all over my face today for no apparent reason. UGH. Why?! 12 weeks today. Anyone else experiencing this?
My skin is definitely more oily and have had a few breakouts that appear in what seems seconds but also seem to go away quickly. I am trying to just use water and natural exfoliants like grain sugar and oats and avoiding foundation
@dbfirstimer glad to hear I'm not the only one. This breakout is almost gone. Been using mostly water as well and avoiding all make up. Fingers crossed second trimester is nicer to our skin!
I also wanted to ask a general question. Does anybody else feel that symptoms are the worst on your first day off after a week of work? I work Mon-Fri and the past 3 Saturdays morning sickness and other symptoms hit really hard Saturday morning. Almost like my body is finally relaxing and just letting everything out? So strange! I was feeling better this week and now this lol. Good thing I didn't make plans to go anywhere special today.
@mrskoz428 thank you!! Will see if I can find it in my local drug store. I've been using Arbonne products and not noticing much of a difference but this breakout has slowly gone away. It just came on so fast, wondering if there will be a next one.
@bgdwg I used this when the hormones from weaning breastfeeding made me break out and another mom recommended it to me. I rarely break out so it was weird that weaning made me but this cleared it up in about two days. I've found it on Amazon and at Target.
@bgdwg I use Cetaphil cleanser and witch hazel toner. I've always had hormonal acne so it's really bad while pregnant. This doesn't clear it up but if I skip a morning or evening, it's worse. It's hard because salicylic acid isn't deemed pregnancy safe, as are many other usual acne washes.
@bgdwg I got a nasty breakout around 10 weeks which I attributed to hormones and maybe also switching to more natural skin care products. In my last pregnancy my skin was great for second and third trimester (and after, save for a few weeks when I stopped nursing), so hoping it gets better this time too.
I couldn’t handle life today and took unisom at 1. The struggle was real. I had to take a nap while we had guests over 😂 not sure why I’m not asleep yet 🤷♀️
Oh lawd, I don’t think I can read through all of this. I’m so far behind. Has anyone experienced their face breaking out really badly? I didn’t even look this bad as a teenager. So much for the pregnancy “glow”...
Re: Symptoms - October
i probably shouldn’t be like here take this 😂
Does anyone else feel as though they have to pee but don’t actually have to go?
the sensation is like I’ve been holding in my pee and my pants are too tight.
(Or kind like I need to toot)
anyone else?
Zantac is really the only thing that helps me 100%, especially the further along things get.
