Have any of you ladies noticed the baby has dropped? I thought I was going crazy because one morning I woke up able to breath better and not feel so squished. Over the last couple of days my coworkers noted I'm carrying lower. I'm 28 weeks. Don't remember this happening this early with DS. I can definitely feel a huge difference in my lung capacity.
I feel like I’m carrying SO MUCH lower this pregnancy than I did with DD. I even did a side by side bump picture comparison, and i think it looks lower. Apparently this is completely normal for STMs, but it’s so weird! And I feel like there’s still so long to go!

@MrsDho11 I have 11 weeks to go, according to my countdown. 11 weeks does not feel so far away but when I put it into context of January, it feels like an lifetime.
@CoastieGirl79 I thought about that, too!! January seems a while away...but we only have 11 weekends left to prepare, and once Thanksgiving hits, our weekends get taken up by holiday events. So we only really have like 5 or 6 free weekends to get ready. That makes this feel like it's coming VERY soon.
@CoastieGirl79 I got out my calendar and counted our free weekends from now until Christmas....there are a grand total of 3 Cue the freakout. Luckily I have a bunch of vacation time to use up before leave so I'm done work Dec 13th which should give me enough time to wrap everything up! But same...when I think about baby not being here until the end of the year it seems like I have so much time. I think the next couple of months will fly by, though!

I feel like it’s going by sooo fast!! October has been flying by bc of all the traveling I’ve been doing (this coming week is gna be so brutal). Then Friday, I have my glucose test and all the shots appt at my 27th wk.
Halloween, maternity pics, Thanksgiving, sprinkle, Christmas, New Year’s and baby!
And there will be so much to do in between one event after another. Ahhhh!!
I definitely panic a little more every time the bump reminds me of the countdown... Only 11 weeks, 10 weeks... I'm far more afraid of labour than I'm worried about baby actually being here! The acid reflux has begun. Ugh. I'm avoiding being over full ( so like three bites of anything!) and skipping out on cheese and greasy stuff. It seems to help, but yuck.
Anyone else confused by baby’s position? Up until last weekend, she was all in my ribs and lungs. I couldn’t breathe no matter the position I was in. I couldn’t sleep because I couldn’t catch my breathe. Last Sunday, I woke up after having the best sleep ever and realized that she’s no longer in my lungs. Everything feels so much lower. Most movements are barely above my belly button. I am pretty sure she’s still head down. Do babies drop this early? I’ve never actually experienced a baby dropping until birth. Maybe she’s super curled up? Either way, being able to breathe again is amazing.
@SweetBriarBee I'm feeling the opposite! Much more activity going on towards my ribs and less activity super low. I still feel him low though, sometimes it feels like his in my vagina. My boy is breech though. I don't think either of my girls were ever breech so the movements are different and honestly almost painful at times. I have a long torso so I've never had an issue with the baby being up in my lung space. I think it's all about babys position. I doubt your baby has dropped yet, but your doctor should be able to tell you babys position at your next appointment.
@ladystout08 Technically, none are actually safe. I begged the pharmacist when I was going on week 2 of not being able to breathe and hacking up a long, and the pharmacist said no. Saline rinses only.
@leighbrek I almost tagged myself. I'm so tired. I thought most cough suppressants were a no-go but I read vicks was ok. I know benadryl is ok to dry up your nose but my congestion is all in my chest. Ugh.
@ladystout08 Hahaha that would've been awesome! You can use Vick's vaporub. Benadryl won't clear up your sinuses when you're plugged up due to a virus (trust me, I desperately tried this, too, Hahaha). All the benadryl did was make me feel insanely groggy, but I still couldn't sleep because I was insanely stuffed up. For your chest, get a humidifier and set it to high in a small room, then live in there for a bit. It'll help to calm coughing.
I had a round of vomiting this AM, the likes of which I have not experienced since 1st trimester. But this time I ended up with these black & blue-ish marks around my mouth (especially around and below the corners of my mouth and down to the sides of my chin) that I guess are caused by burst blood vessels from the vomiting. The marks weren't there yesterday. I look like I either got punched in the face or that I'm growing out a beard -- very attractive!
I have a midwife appt tomorrow so I'll check with them then, but I'm pretty sure it's normal and probably due to the extra blood floating around inside me
Did anyone else experience this with throwing up in pregnancy (or any other time)?

@rooonilwaazlib Oh my gosh, that doesn't look good! I have no advice for you, but I hope it's nothing. Well, you know, "nothing", but it's obviously something - totally not trying to minimize!
@leighbrek Haha thanks, girl! It doesn't hurt or anything, so unless I start to look more like a bearded lady in the next few hours I am just going to wait and check with the midwife at my checkup appt tomorrow. Fingers crossed! I've basically given up on all forms of makeup and coverup in this pregnancy because my skin is so sensitive. Hoping it is indeed nothing!

Definitely feel like I'm carrying much lower this time. It makes it super weird sitting at my desk all day because I tend to lean forward I feel like I'm squishing the baby. It's even funnier when the thought crosses my mind and he starts kicking hard like saying "yea mom, now lean back some will ya!"
@rooonilwaazlib I've had some bruising on my face before from puking, though I can't remember around my mouth... again, probably from the force etc, but always good to check with the midwife
@rooonilwaazlib I had a friend who had HG with each of her pregnancies and she often broke blood vessels from vomiting. So while I say normal, definitely worth talking about tomorrow. Feel better!
@rooonilwaazlib That does not look pleasant! I hope you're feeling better now.
Man, the BH are starting to get strong! I've been noticing a solid increase in them as well throughout the day. Anyone else feel like the air is getting squished out of your lungs when you get BH?

In the past few days my boobs have been SO itchy. And it's all from the nipple down so I can't even really get a good discrete scratch in at my desk. I guess it could be way worse but this is seriously annoying.
@kaf1788 ooooh girl, the itching is so real. For me it's almost everywhere, PUPPPs started before third tri - lucky me, I know. I've found that if it gets really unbearable, a little lotion mixed with peppermint oil is cooling & keeps the itching super manageable.
@rooonilwaazlib definitely ask if you’re concerned, but I think they’re just burst blood vessels. I’ve gotten them on my chest from puking during pregnancy in the past (*knock on wood* to not get them in the remainder of this pregnancy)

Anyone dealing with SPD(Symphysis pubis dysfunction)? I'm preeeetty sure that's what is going on and I plan to talk to my OB about it but it looks like there isn't much I can do. I feel like she's splitting my pubic bone in half and it actually hurts to touch, almost like it's bruised? It radiates out from my pubic bone to my hips and basically it all feels like it's falling apart.
@ladystout08 I'm dealing with SPD as well. I've been wearing a support belt to help hold my stomach up a bit. Sometimes it helps but I still have the pain at the end of the day. I'm meeting with a physical therapist next week in hopes they can recommend some exercises or stretches to help.
@jgil85 I wondered if a belt would help. I find myself subconsciously picking up my belly to try and take the weight off for a minute. My SIL is a physical therapist so I may reach out to her.
The super sense of smell is driving me crazy. This is way too TMI, but my bedroom smells like jizz. I swear to god! I've washed the bedding and everything, but now I'm thinking it's how I interpret the old smell of laundry detergent, and I hate it. When we went through WalMart today so that I could use the bathroom, I could smell all the plastic and stuff on the shelves. I just want to go back to normal and be oblivious to all this yuckiness.
@ladystout08 - I have a lot of public bone pain and it feels bruised when I touch, but it isn't radiating out (yet?). So I fear I may be in the early stages. Some days my support belt helps, and others not so much.

Anyone's ankle joints killing them? I don't know if it has to do with the amount of swelling or just the fact that I'm the heaviest I've ever been and the extra weight is taxing on my ankle joints, but man, my ankles are sore!

It's not really a pregnancy-related symptom but I got the flu and Tdap shots today at the doc and I'm feelin like...

BH contractions all the time. Like several a day probably. OB said some people just get more than others...lucky me. I get up and start walking quick...BH. Have to pee? BH. Sitting here watching Netflix and I roll over to change positions? BH.
I woke up this morning and everything hurt. Back, hips, neck, charlie horse in calves...I think I might need a new pillow so I may give that a go. I use a regular body pillow but I’ve thought about getting a Snoogle. The reason why I haven’t is because this is my last baby and I only have about 9 weeks left.
I feel like it's safe to say +1 to the above like 10 comments. @ladystout08 I've been wearing a support band almost since the beginning which helps a TON. When I don't have it on at night and walk around the house, I notice a significant difference in the pain in my hips and pubic bone area. And I feel like I'm just over all the symptoms at this point. I'm also insanely irritable about EVERYTHING but I refuse to say I'm over pregnancy because I don't want to jinx it. 9 wks to go until baby day.... I'm officially on a countdown!

Ugh yeah. And I took DD for a short stroller walk this morning, and she then threw a fit and refused to get out of the stroller and kept asking for more when I tried to end it, so I took her out longer. Ended up doing 4.5 miles, which was short for me pre-pregnancy but feels very long at this point, the last half mile the pain was radiating down into my thigh on one side, and I thought, “noooooooooo! Is this the SPD everyone talks about?!”

Ugh. I woke up this morning and could barely walk, my right hip was hurting so bad. It's a little better, but I'm still hobbling quite a bit today. I was completely fine yesterday, so I must have slept on it funny or something. Owww.
I know the chiro while pregnant topic has come up a ton but I just want to jump back in and say DO IT!! I hadn't seen my chiro in 2 wks just because I've been busy so I went yesterday and I feel a million times better today.
YES @tosh24@sweetyjenj those Braxton Hicks contractions are a doozy! I get them mostly at night around bedtime or first thing in the AM...like right now. It feels like my whole uterus hardens with cement! Sometimes I think it's the baby pushing against the side of me, but IDK because I can feel my entire uterus tighten and then release. I think I'm too chubby to be able to feel anything super defined in the baby at this time, plus anterior placenta.
