Symptoms - w/o Oct 15

Re: Symptoms - w/o Oct 15

  • @megsb615 this pregnancy has been far more symptomatic for me too.  I don't know what's going on, I'm usually one of the very lucky ones in pregnancy but this time around I'm so much more nauseous, food aversions galore, and my boob sensitivity seems to be increasing daily.  Last night I literally had to prop a pillow around my chest because my sports bra was irritating/feeling restrictive but without it on my boobs hurt so effing bad I couldn't get to sleep.  So now I've become that girl, who's boobs need their own pillow.

  • After feeling nauseous for a few weeks I finally succumbed and threw up this morning. At least I gained sympathy from DH lol

  • Man I really thought things were letting up, but the last couple of days I've been a mess. Yesterday I just attributed the nausea and vomiting to my massive headache, but today I have no idea. I couldn't even make it to the bathroom. Luckily I was cleaning and hadn't taken the trash out yet. Fuck. I was feeling so good, so motivated. Cleaned up my living room, was sitting down doing a practice test, and Bam. When will it end?!
  • I feel good today and PGAL brain does not like it at all. No nausea in the am. No exhaustion at 10 am. Nothing. TW I’m right on the cusp of 9 weeks which I know is a big week for MCs and when I lost my symptoms with my 1st MC so my anxiety is piquing. End Tw Anyone else who prefers to miserable to feeling ok?
  • @chloe97 when I'm not violently ill, I do get nervous. I could be completely fine with just the occasional nausea though. I miss only tasting my food once 😩
  • @mcewen3 😂 I’m dying at them needing their own pillow! I haven’t had food aversions too too bad, but the sound of fried and heavy food makes me feel queasy. I’m all about some cold deli meat sandwiches/subs/wraps. So fresh and delicious! I don’t see how people avoid it for 9 months.
  • @megsb615 if I don't heat it, and hell even when I do, I get so terrified I'm going to get listeria and lose my baby. It's enough to keep me away. If the craving is too bad, I just get it toasted. But even then I'm anxious about it.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I guess I don’t  worry about it because my doctor told me with DS that as long as it was from a reputable place, it would be fine. I don’t eat  Oscar Meyer (or whatever brand) packaged deli meat, but sliced fresh from Publix, or a sub from Jimmy John’s or Jersey Mike’s, I’m all about it. When I was pregnant with DS, there seemed to be so many warnings about listeria for bagged salads or certain fresh vegetables, but I don’t remember hearing anything about deli meat. It’s all about what you’re comfortable with though. I know a little bit of wine here and there is fine, but I’ve always been too scared to have any. Plus, one small glass of wine seems like a tease. 😂
  • I'm so ready for 2nd trimester!! I've barely kept food down for the past 6 weeks and have lost 12 lbs. Last weekend, I ended up in the ER for dehydration, silver lining is that I got to see my baby for the first time! Thankfully they gave me zofran and that has made a world of difference! I ate chicken and went on a mini hike yesterday to enjoy the fall weather!
  • @expandcontract my boobs are still sore this pregnancy but I remember that being a major symptom my first time around and I barely notice this time, unless I try to sleep on my stomach.  I also remember my bras getting way too tight early on in my last pregnancy (like the bands were too small), but no change this time.  Maybe my ribs expanded with the last pregnancy and never went back?
  • @megsb615 I’m with you on the deli sandwich train 😂 my OB told me with DS not to worry and I am so glad. It’s been one of the few things I can consistently eat.

@chloe97 I completely understand. The days I feel “normal”, I even more obsessively check for spotting.
  • @DressageDarling yess! I love sushi, but I can manage without it. I can’t go a week without having a wrap or sub 😂

@chloe97 I’m with you. I’m 10 weeks and started noticing my symptoms starting to taper off in the last week and it totally has me anxious.  I recall reading something about it being normal for symptoms to start tapering off between 9 and 10 weeks though, so it could be perfectly normal and not the cause for alarm my brain seems to think it is.  PGAL brain is the worst!  I can’t even enjoy not being nauseous anymore.

This is very possible.  My ribs never back down which you'd think would be a good thing for my lungs.  But it doesn't seen to have helped much.

Flu shot today is a no-go. I've already had two asthma attacks today (or is it just one big one?). My O2 is at 94%. If it drops any lower Im going to have to go to the ER, so no moving around of any sort for me today.  Which really sucks because my daughter keeps trying to take my finger and lead me out of bed to go play with her.

  • Coffee helps me too!! I was blessed that my nausea only lasted weeks 7-9. I’m now 11 weeks and Lord i can’t keep my eyes open. Idk if being sick for a hour or two was better than being sleepy. I mean like i have never been this tired in my life. But with my four year old i threw up atleast 3 times a day from 5 weeks all the way to labor and delivery on the table. Sooo maybe my body is just weird.
  • @expandcontract yes, FTM. It’s mostly just the nipples but omg it’s awful. @brie_and_almonds I’m a 4th grade teacher, kids hug my multiple times a day and I end every day with a hug or high five. I try to limit the hugs to side hugs but some go in for the full frontal hug and my nips can’t take that right now!

  • @expandcontract I'm guessing you have your own pulse ox to monitor? I carry one in my purse for my son lol. That's really scary, love, I hope it doesn't get any worse.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds it's actually on my phone and it's pretty accurate since I've compared it to the ones at the offices.  I do also have the peak flow meter but I swear, I don't understand that thing.  Like,  how do you expect me to forcefully blow air into this thing when i already can't breathe? That makes no sense to me.

  • @expandcontract, yes I've used those too. I just ended up buying one because I could use it for work too. Lol yeah, those things are kind of a bitch, but they're super helpful for your provider to know how bad it's getting. My son can't understand them so we haven't used them yet. He's excellent practice for my assessment skills though 😂 I feel fortunate that his is only exacerbated by illness, but it can get scary.
  • So tired!  Its like I'm narcoleptic.  I could sleep anytime, any place.  I napped for over 3 hours yesterday and still almost fell asleep with my 3 year old when I was putting her to bed.  Second and third time moms, are you finding the exhaustion so much worse this time around?  I don't remember it being the slightest bit of an issue when I was pregnant with my second, but I only had a 1 year old back then and she took daily naps and was always in bed by 6:30-7:00.  I don't know if I just took advantage of nap times or if I really wasn't as tired.  Neither kid naps anymore but I have occasionally allowed myself to fall asleep on the couch, usually when my oldest is at school so I don't have to wake up to break up a fight.

@mcewen3 I remember sleeping A LOT the first time around. More than I do now. But I didn't really do much and I didn't have any kids. So, I cleaned the house that barely got messy and then just slept.

  • @mcewen3 Me 😩 So so tired. I can’t sleep enough. I feel terrible saying it but I look forward to bedtime because then I can finally go to bed. My tiny tornado of a 2 year old is currently melting down on the floor for some reason, and I’m too tired to deal with it. I knew being pregnant with a toddler would be hard (read: terrible), but at this point, I don’t see how anyone ever gets to a 3rd baby. This ish is exhausting. I hardly even felt pregnancy symptoms with DS. This time around, I have absolutely no energy (and very little patience) by the end of the day.

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I'm feeling the opposite.  My life is definitely busier and more demanding this pregnancy than either of the other two, but I don't remember ever napping during my first, or even my second pregnancy.  I think with my second I relaxed a bit more during nap times but nothing major.  This is out of control and majorly cramping my style, lol.  I see my midwife in 1.5 weeks.  I'm hoping to be on the upswing by then, but if not I'm definitely planning to mention it

  • @megsb615 DH told me he feels bad for the kids because my patience is so thin 😒 but seriously, its no joke.  I look forward to next year with the new baby because both older girls will be in school so I'll get some nice bonding time with babe during the day and I think I can maintain some sense of order to life like that.  But right now it is almost unmanageable.  Praying that second tri is easier 🙏🙏🙏

  • @mcewen3 Surely 2nd tri will be easier. Energy supposedly comes back then, right? Or will we just always be this tired? 😳
  • @mcewen3 I think I was just bored the first time lol. I'm way more exhausted this time. And SO MUCH SICKER 😩😩😩
  • @megsb615 part of me wonders if its just preparation for life with 3... lol.

  • @expandcontract how are you feeling now?
@eatinwatermelonseeds oh no!! I’m glad you made it to the trash!

Im in bed resisting throwing up but I think it’s just a matter of time. My mouth is watering in preparation. I kind of have to burp but I’m worried I’ll vomit. Can’t I just go to sleep and not do this 😩 it’s so weird how I’m fine in the morning and just get progressively worse as the day goes on and eating doesn’t help. I was so lucky last pregnancy.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge ugh I'm sorry you're feeling so crummy, too. I've literally been in bed all day today. I've gotten some studying done but that's it. I've barely left the bed. Thank goodness for my son's patience today. He's been amazing. We're actually in bed on his request, it's just benefiting me lol.
  • With my second I was exhausted, but I was working full time, so I didn’t have a chance to nap much. Sometimes I would nap in my car at lunch though. I would come home, make dinner and put DD to bed, and go straight to bed myself. This time around though they are much older, and I take them to school and come home, and take a nap some days. I find though that sometimes I can’t fall asleep at night though. Never had that last time, I was so exhausted I passed out within seconds of my head hitting the pillow.

@DuchessOfCambridge Thank you for asking! Im actually feeling better, finally. The whole day though was awful. My husband took our daughter to the library to play and the in laws went with, too. Normally i would be THRILLED at the idea of getting some time alone at home.  But I was just laid up in bed the whole time missing my daughter. I figured out (at least I think) what caused my asthma to get so bad today.....I didn't take my maintenance inhaler last night cuz I was too sleepy.  Normally, missing one dose wouldn't be a big deal at all,  but I guess there's nothing normal about my asthma right now.  Lesson learned.
One more thing,  whyyyyyy do i always have a hard time falling asleep on Sunday nights?? Friday and Saturday nights I want to stay up late (by late Im taking 9 or 10) so bad but pass out at 8. Then Sunday night when I actually want to sleep earlier,  I can't fall asleep right away!

  • @expandcontract except from very beginning I have had no soreness in my bbs.   I am even on progesterone shots.  We started weaning off all my hormones so definitely getting nervous something will happen but looking forward to not being nauseous every afternoon/evening.
  • I am starting to feel dizzy more frequently. Not sure if it’s lack of water or increased blood volume but I don’t like the feeling! Has anyone else started experiencing this? I’m 11+5 today.

  • @mrskoz428 have you noticed when the dizziness occurrs? I.e. upon standing, when laying down, after eating, before eating, etc.
  • @mrskoz428 I had dizziness when I first got pregnant, I had fluid in my ears due to a bad cold and it was awful.
  • Here's a fun one that I have had with all three pregnancies! A bloody nose! Brought on by dry weather and vomiting! As far as symptoms go, it's fairly innocuous, but it's starting SO EARLY this time, I assume because of the time of year.

  • @k2k2tog I totally forgot that was a pregnancy symptom! Bloody noses are always fun, especially at work. Nothing like having your co-workers walk by your desk with a tissue shoved up your nose.

@DuchessOfCambridge Sorry you're having such a rough time with the nausea. Waiting to throw up has to be the worst feeling.

@mrskoz428 I would mention the dizziness to your OB, just to be on the safe side. They may also have some tips for you.

@chloe97 I weirdly feel SO much better this week. I can't remember the last time I was nauseous and I don't even feel that tired, despite having a 1 year old running around. It definitely messes with your brain and I'd prefer to feel like crap! Hang in there, I hope your anxiety lessens a bit after week 9.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @mrskoz428 yes, I have been dizzy/lightheaded a lot this pregnancy. I had one day where it was like sheer vertigo and the room wouldn't stop spinning. For the most part I've just been lightheaded though.

  • @mcewen3 This is my second pregnancy and I am so much more tired than I remember. DD is going through a mental leap that's messing with her sleep though. It's been much better since DH got back and is helping, plus I can't pick her up with my SCH so he's literally doing all of the getting up in the middle of the night.

@mrskoz428 I occasionally feel dizzy but it's when I've been too lazy/engrossed in the bump or work (or both) to get up and get myself a snack and I've gone 3-4 hours without eating which is a major no-no for me. It's when I stand up to actually get the snack that it happens so I just quickly grab some almonds a little mozzarella, then give myself 10 minutes before I get something more substantial. Like @eatinwatermelonseeds said, definitely mention it if it's not something like the above where I'm just being dumb and not taking care of myself but it has an easy (an preventable) solution.

  • Lots of bumpies to tag so I hope you all see this! It’s really random. I’ll be standing and it just happens. I think I need to snack more.
