@mrskoz428 I have had 3 big bouts with almost passing out. It starts with me normally standing and getting lightheaded and then a crazy sweat happens. I've had smaller incidents with dizziness as well. I naturally have lower blood pressure and with the pregnancy it's even lower. My midwife checked and confirmed again for me last week. She assured me it was normal but it means I should be snacking more (every 3 hrs) and she suggested bringing juice or vitamin water with me to work to sip on when I'm busy and moving around a lot. Hope you can get your drizzy feeling under control! I know how uncomfortable it is.
@mrskoz428 There you go! We're in the same boat. 😋 I really have found that eating mixed nuts or a slice of cheese does help a lot every 3ish hours. I do tend to forget though and then feel the effects. I never really snacked before pregnancy so it is hard to break the habit! Don't feel alone in this. I'd still tell your OB or midwife, but I think we both just have to thank the low blood pressure for this side effect. Blessing and a curse? Thankful that we likely do not have to worry about high blood pressure. Or do things change in the future?
@bgdwg Sadly, I’m allergic it tree nuts so that’s out, but I try to snack often. I’m a teacher and my students are getting really sick of me eating in front of them all the time. Sorry not sorry! They also don’t know yet so that doesn’t help! I don’t suspect a change in my blood pressure. My mom has always been low, as well, and her’s got lower during and afternoregnancy. My norm is 100s/60s, here is 90s/50s!
@mrskoz428 I forget what grade you teach but if the kids are old enough, just say that your blood sugar is low. That's what my 5th grade music teacher hold us until she finally announced. 😉
My stomach has been upset for over a week now. This started at week 4, went away for a couple weeks and then last week DH and ate gyros that did not sit well. I feel like I have a ton of stomach acid that is eating away at my stomach lining and I feel uncomfortable after I eat. I really don't have a lot of actual nausea- just a little bit here and there, but I am sooo sick of my stomach feeling sour.
@chloe97 ugh sorry you're feeling that way. Would tums or a probiotic help? Almonds can also neutralize stomach acid. I'm all over the almonds and greek yogurt plus limit my dairy otherwise since I know that's a trigger for me (I still have some but it has to be with a meal). Ignore me if none of that is helpful. You know your body best!
@mrskoz428 I ate constantly in front of my middle schoolers when I was pregnant and then again when I was ravenous during BFing. I never felt bad about it 🤷 Before they knew I did try and sneak it more during class changes, but after I told them I'd be full on eating bowls of ramen, yogurt, giant pieces of fruit.
@chloe97 and @beccaneu - I'm having the same concerns. I'm at the end of week 8 (I think I'm really more like middle of week 9) and got really sick with what was likely a virus. Was throwing up all night, and then the next day (Wednesday) my nausea was gone. I noticed Wednesday night my boobs felt a lot less sore, but no spotting. I'm a little nit nauseous this morning, but not like I was (throwing up 1-2x a day at least). I'm hoping it just means that I'm moving past the pits of the 1st tri.
