@njmuc that’s so cool! I lived in Germany during and after college for a total of 4 years! I just finished my second teaching certificate German language as well. *edited because predictive text sucks.
@MaggieG183 no, but I heard about it! I'm pretty sure we tried to make plans to go there a couple times but never did. That assignment was wasted on my teen years/early 20s. Now I would have a list of everything I want to see, but then I drank a lot and didn't travel near enough.
@eatinwatermelonseeds not gonna lie, much of that two years in Garmisch was spent similarly for me as well. It's a fun place and if you are ever able, go and visit. It's amazingly picturesque. (I lived at the base of the mountains to the right in the photo and the ski area was in the green trees and up to the top of the craggy peaks of the mountains on the left.)
First time Mom-to-be here. 6 wks, 4 days. I'm 34 and due May 30. First doctor appointment is Oct 23 and US Oct 26. Hoping for smooth sailing through this! Best wishes to all of the other mamas!
Hi Ladies ! First, Congrats to all the mommas to be out there !
My name is Justine and I'll be 8 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Due date is May 22, 2019. Im from Northern Ontario, Cananda.
This is my first pregnancy. Its been a little rough so far with morning sickness and all the other symptoms, but very excited to start this new chapter in my life with my husband.
I just wanna say welcome and good job to all of y'all who came to this thread and introduced yourselves before starting a one-off thread about being nauseous. Sometimes it feels like we dwell on the people who do it "wrong," but there are new posts here every day who are doing it "right."
Thank you! Welcome! I look forward to getting to know you!
@sarah_is_pregnant YAY! My last BMB, we had a grand total of like, 3 Canadians and only one other one made the move to FB with the rest of us. And she lives in AB, which might as well be another country.
DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe DD2: October 2016 DC3: coming May 2019
@sarah_is_pregnant yes, FB stands for Facebook. But, no, there is not a Facebook group started yet and there likely won’t be until much later. In my last group, the FB group didn’t start until 6-ish months and most people didn’t really make the move to that until 7-8 months. A lot of us need the time to feel comfortable sharing that much info with strangers in an online forum like FB.
@sarah_is_pregnant what @MaggieG183 said. My last BMB started their facebook group after the babies were born. There isn't one for this BMB yet, and won't be for months. Which is good - in many ways, I like the forum setup of The Bump over the post format of Facebook.

Hi, I am Melissa and I am a STM of a 2.5 year old daughter. I am 8 weeks but I won't have a doctor's appointment/us until next week. I am so excited! This pregnancy is already soooooo much better than my last. I am exhausted but don't feel like I am going hurl all the time. (Knock on wood.) This leads me to believe that it is a boy, but we are assuming it is another girl. We live in the Chicago suburbs and I look forward to an exciting journey with everyone!
Hi everyone my name is Rebecca. I'm 7 wks 6 days along. My EDD is May 24th. This is our 4th. A bit of a surprise as my husband finished chemotherapy this summer and we were not trying! We are excited and my first appointment is next Tuesday and we will get our first ultrasound. This is my first time in a community.
Hi everyone! My name is Tiarra. I'm 8wks 1 day, and my estimated due date is May 23rd. This will be my first child, and quite frankly, I'm very unsure of everything right now. I was the girl who didn't see the point in having kids and now, I'm actively against having an abortion, but I don't know *why* I want to keep this child.
My partner and I aren't in a relationship, I recently moved back to my home state a month ago, and I'm scared that I want this for all the wrong reasons. Actually, I'm scared because I don't actually have a reason for wanting to keep it, I just do.

For what it's worth, I don't think you have to have a "reason" for wanting to continue the pregnancy. As long as you are comfortable and happy with your decision, and have the support you need to love and care for the baby, that's all that really matters.
@ftmilf I’m sorry you are in such a tough position 😕 just remember you are strong and can do this! I’m only 20, so I’m really nervous too, but I just have to keep reminding myself that I’m going to have a little me walking around, and that my love for him/her will help me overcome any obstacles that come my way. Good luck ❤️
New mommy to be! EDD: 05/27/19 hoping for a girl!!!
Hi! I’m so excited to be on this board. I have a DS who is 5 and a DD that is 3. Both pregnancies we needed clomid.. but this one is a happy surprise. Estimated due date is 5/21!
So excited for this board!! I'm currently 7w2d with our first little one, EDD of 5/30. My hubby and I had been trying for months with no results, and I was incredibly irregular, going literally months without a period. Finally my doctor diagnosed me with general anovulation, and prescribed Femara. It worked like an absolute charm, and I was lucky enough to find myself pregnant in August, after my first month taking it.
Sadly though, my husband and I suffered a chemical pregnancy with this first baby, and I miscarried just after 5w. It was a pretty devastating blow after all the heartache we had already felt over my mild infertility issue, but thankfully we had each other to lean on. We were then both surprised and thrilled to find I was pregnant again last month, just one month after my chemical pregnancy.
This time around, everything seems to be progressing smoothly, and we have our second confirmation ultrasound next Friday. Our first confirmation ultrasound was last week, and my doctor said everything looked great so far! We're so excited to finally hear the heartbeat next week, but also nervous knowing we're not "out of the woods" yet. It's so hard not to be slightly scared/cautious after pregnancy loss, even though all you want to feel is excited and happy. I think I'm somewhere in the middle; joyous and thrilled, but with mild trepidation. Here's hoping our little one continues to grow and thrive like we're expecting him/her to, and everything continues on happily.
Cheers ladies!! We're all on this crazy ride together!!
@mbaymay Yay!! Another Chicagoan! Holy moly! We have so many on this board! With my last BMB there was only one other one.
@beccals83 Congratulations! And double congratulations on your husband completing chemo! I hope he never needs it again. Good luck in your pregnancy and I hope you stay through delivery and beyond!
@intheluep Crazy ride to get here and FX this one keeps sticking! I'm also due 5/30 (but expecting a June baby as I went past my EDD with both my girls)
Hey Everyone! My DH and I are expecting our first child May 22nd. We have been married for a year and one month, and actually found out we were pregnant on our anniversary! We are both very excited and very nervous for all the amazing adventures to come!
Hello! I’m a second time mommy. My first turns 1 in a little over a month. I lurked the whole time I was pregnant on the Nov17 board, too shy too post. My little girl came to us through ivf, but this second one is a surprise. I’m AMA, and a tiny bit nervous about that. With the first we had so much information, starting from when she was an embryo. I also have a history of unsuccessful pregnancies, but this one measure right on track, so I’m hopeful!
I’m not that good with social media, so I’m testing the waters...but excited for the pregnancy journey with you all!
Hi ladies, I'm back again. My initial introduction was a little somber. Thank you all for the kind words.
I'm 27, a writer. I'm currently working on a YouTube series. I recently moved back from Los Angeles to my hometown of Detroit, MI. My favorite foods are anything with lots of cheese.
Hi everyone, we’ll i thought I was done having children’s ( 1 girl, 1 boy) . Apperantly, we were not done yet. I decided to take a pregnancy test 10/13/2018, came back positive. TBH I did cry, I REALLY thought I was done having children, I am not financially where I want to be. Anyways, idk how far along I am, going to the doctors this Thursday 10/18.
I am Emma, from Chatham, Ontario. I am currently 10w4days along with my 2nd. My DD is 6. (She will be a huge help!!) EDD is May 12th. My fiancé and I are super excited to be welcoming a new member to our little family!! Had my first appt with the midwife today and get my first ultrasound next week! Can’t wait to see our little peanut!!
@rachel0114 smart man! That was the one other day we were considering but living in wisconsin, you never know what the weather will be like. We had a massive blizzard with almost 2 feet of snow the 13th and 14th of April this year. Glad I waited!
Re: Introduce Yourself Here!
Hoping for smooth sailing through this! Best wishes to all of the other mamas!
