Re: Symptoms - Week of 10/8

  • @ncm1919 I do recall this with DS but not this early on. Even my last pregnancy I dont think was this bad this early.

You guys gave me hope, I am almost 5 weeks so hopefully this is the worst of it - I didn’t remember them being near this bad before. Looking forward to sleeping without needing a mental debrief/pep talk at 5am

We will all lose enough sleep later on lol
  • @chrssyms there is a huge range of normal. I was exhausted beyond belief with #1 in the fist tri but had very little nausea. Now I'm not even 7 weeks and I'm already nauseous and tired. Glad to hear your doc prescribed something.  It does all improve for most women in the second teimester.
  • symptoms have gotten more intense over the last week. I am currently 5weeks 5 days- super queasy all the time, all food seems to be a turn off and then I will get these bizarre intense cravings of foods I would never touch before! It is weird because one minute I am craving the food and two hours later I am repulsed by it - makes no sense lol - I have to force myself to eat and have a ice-cold gingerale near me at all times. Still having problems with falling and staying asleep and the boobs starting hurting more this morning!
  • Yes yes yes to the super weird/bizarre dreams, to the bloating/swelling (I feel like I'm showing already), and the falling asleep at 8:30 PM thing....
  • Y'all... I can not keep my eyes open. I just layrd down with DD to try and get her to nap. Two hours later I woke up to her playing with toys. Not even sure if SHE actually slept at all.

  • Just bawled my eyes out while watching LadyBird. A littke bit because of the whole "hiding something from Mom" thing (my mom and I are really close but we aren't telling our parents until after a confirmed heartbeat, and no one beyond that until after we get the genetic results back, since I'm high risk for that not turning out great).

Definitely a whole lot of the crying was from being KU and super bloated. Could barely zip up my jeans today level of bloat, and kept crying for half an hour after the movie ended...
  • I'm not even 4 weeks yet (3w4d) and I've already had random nausea, hot flashes, insomnia, crazy dreams, and fatigue. Maybe it's all in my head?
  • I seriously cannot take this nausea. All day and barely functioning. I’ll be asking about nausea meds at my first appointment. It was okay with my son but now parenting a toddler while feeling like this is basically impossible!
  • I have had very mild symptoms except occasionally. I would have random nights of intense nausea, then be fine when I woke up. I'm at the end of week 6 now and my symptoms have started hitting me hard.

Yesterday, I felt fine for most of the day. Then evening hit and I started feeling super nauseous. Then I woke at 11:30 puking my brains out. My poor husband didn't know what to do. I ended up taking a Zofran but I'm going to call to see if I can get something else on Monday.

This is my 5th pregnancy and I have never actually thrown up from morning sickness so this is new for me.
  • So far just crazy fatigue and the odd hot flash. This is baby number 3 and I've had less symptoms with this one than I did the first two. No cramping, no cravings, no heartburn (yet) and thankfully with my last 2 i never had morning sickness. Hoping to keep this trend going.
  • I was really hoping to skip the nausea this time. It appears to have hit full force this weekend. Of course DH is working all weekend and DS is feeling needy. I am trying to be productive this morning and run errands including grocery shopping for the week and making our meal plan. It makes it a million times harder when all I want to do it puke thinking about food.
  • I’m feeling super nervous too. I didn’t have that many symptoms with this pregnancy to begin with besides sensitive boobs and light dull cramping. After my shower yesterday, everything has lessened extremely almost completely gone. I’m trying to stay positive but had a missed miscarriage earlier this year.

This is just a general vent: my fatigue is not as bad today as it was yesterday. I still have some very mild nausea and gastro issues and I'm a bit tired. On the one hand, I'm worried, on the other hand, yesterday was on another level and I'm glad today is not a repeat - I had to come back from the park after 20 minutes because I didn't have the energy to walk slowly around the playground. Today, I've been able to make food and play with my son as we normally do on weekend mornings. Here's hoping the insane fatigue lets up in the coming weeks... I'm 6w6d so I know it's not likely but I really need to be functional next week while on a work trip 8 time zones away. I'm dreading that trip but it's the last work trip until January, so I just want to get it over with.

@natashmarquez fingers crossed for you. From everything I've read, symptoms come and go.

@desoky01 I was surprised at the early symptoms I had this time around too. In week 4, I had sore boobs and was gassy and tired, and burping. Most of those symptoms lessened in week 5 but came back with new friends (nausea, insane fatigue) in week 6. My boobs are no longer sore, though (still bigger than normal but I don't feel them as much). It's quite the rollercoaster ride...  With my first, I had hardly any symptoms until week 8, and then only afternoon/evening fatigue (but it was bad) and mild nausea. No such luck this time.

  • I’m not one to have a ton of symptoms, so I was surprised that I had enough to know I was pregnant about a week before my missed period. The headaches have gotten better, but the fatigue is REAL!

  • I’m on call this week so I had to go in to work last night. Being trapped inside a tiny interview room with a smelly jerk in the middle of the night, it took everything I had not to actively gag in his face. So tired and everything smells bad.
  • @TJtheGoat ugh, sorry to hear! I hope you have a few days od rest.

I have very few symptoms so far - which I'm trying to consiser as a blessing, though it does make me a little nervous! I'm a bit constipated and have had some light cramping, and bloating but that's been it so far.
  • Baby brain has hit and is in full force. The few people in my office that know I'm pregnant can't stop laughing at my inability to form a coherent sentence!
  • @marijaa333 thanks for the support. The Diclegis is sort of working. I don’t feel quite as miserable as I was feeling but I still don’t feel 100%. This is my first and I didn’t really think it’d be this bad. In addition to the nausea, my boobs are sore and huge and I do feel pretty tired. Really hoping the 2nd trimester is better! I guess we are all getting into the peak of pregnancy symptoms and morning sickness!
  • I feel like I'm boxed into a corner with my options for meds to keep me from being sick. I'm waiting for my OB to give me a call back about her opinion on Zofran. I know some doctors don't prescribe it anymore. I can't take B6 because I'm nursing and unisom apparently has an antihistamine in it which will dry my milk up and I'm not ready to wean my baby yet.

I ordered some of those pregnancy pop drops to see if that helps but those likely won't keep me from actually vomiting. My husband is worried I may get dehydrated.
  • @emeraldcity603 that sounds like being between a rock and a hard place! The fact that you’re still nursing probably has the biggest impact on what you can take but I’m not a doctor ☺️ It’s weird but eating fattier proteins have kind of helped me. Like eating dark meat chicken for some reason seems to settle my stomach so I can keep it down long enough to digest. With dehydration, just take a couple of small sips every few minutes. It won’t make you feel better but it might help you to keep more liquid down between vom sessions.
  • I’m with you ladies^^, 7w today and nausea is worse. I am hoping for some relief by week 11 and trying to mentally prepare myself for the next three. I’m traveling for work next week, 8 time zones away. Should be fun. :/
  • I called my MFM for anti-nausea meds. Diclegis and Zofran were prescribed. Now if I only felt well enough to go pick them up....
  • So far I’ve had it relatively easy. I didn’t get many symptoms with my son 12 years ago and don’t really have much now. Sore nipples, tired, constipated and that’s about it so far.  And my scalp is super itchy.
  • Okay so, I dont know if this is an actual symptom or not... I never experienced it with my last 2 pregnancies but my husband said I am making REALLY weird noises in my sleep. He said I'm talking constantly, and moaning as if I'm having a really good dream, if you know what I mean. But I havent had any dreams that I can remember!he says I keep waking him up at all hours of the night. I have woken myself up a time or two with the weird moaning. Please tell me I'm not the only one who has had this so I can tell DH I'm not crazy! LOL
  • Weeks 4 and 5 I had pretty strong nausea and fatigue, now at the end of week 6 my symptoms are very light.  I'm trying to not freak out as I know they can come and go but here I am stressing out. One more week till my US, I find very hard to wait.
  • I'm so tired.  Yet I can't sleep and it's so frustrating.  The headache is almost constant too.  While I'm so exhausted I can barely function, I'm trying to take it as a good sign.
  • Does anyone have chills and flu-like symptoms (minus the fever)? Especially by the time the afternoon hits, I feel like I just want to hide in bed.
  • @bakerstreetboys I'm the same. I am tired all day long and then am restless all night. It's the worst!

@marijaa333 Yes! I get the chills so bad and feel like I can't get warm enough. That plus being exhausted with body aches definitely feels like the flu.

  • @eleven_ @marijaa333 I was just coming here to post this!! I feel like I got hit by a bus by the end of each day. Insane body aches and chills. I’m having my OB test my vitamin D because that combined with the fatigue has me feeling like it’s probably low.
  • @eleven_ @carleym93 glad to know I'm not alone but not glad you're feeling like crap too. Interesting theory about vitamin D. I'll ask at my appointment on Friday.
  • I believe I have a swollen lymph node in my groin. It is tender and as of an hour ago a bit painful. I do think I'm fighting a cold, so my Google MD says it's from that. But now I worry etopic. If I have pain in the morning I'll call my doc.
  • @jhems776 hope it's nothing! Keep us posted.
  • @marijaa333 I have flu like symptoms aswell but I also quit smoking when I found out I was pregnant so I dont know if its pregnancy symptoms or nicotine symptoms lol, either way its terrible. The hot and cold flashes come out of no where, and the dizzy spells make me feel like I'm on cloud 9.
  • Ladies dealing with constipation, if you have a Dunkins near by, get yourself a hot apple cider..... and go home with it. Not work. Lmao it wasnt actually that bad (I would have preferred to be home still) but it did the trick.
  • @prpl11butterfly Omg, that made me laugh!  We'll have a constipation cure thread by the next trimester...Dunkins, McDonald's....

@jhms776 That sounds painful :(  I hope it's nothing and is gone by today.

  • Yep, the constipation has started over here too.
  • Add nausea today. Even taking a drink of water makes me feel like I’m going to get sick.
