@megpants209- Yes for a few nights now and of course I'm up now a few hours later to start the day all over again. I'm fried. 🎵🎶Mamas don't raise your babies to grow up and be lawyers... 🎵🎶
Ughhhh DS was up at 12:30 last night, didn't fall back asleep until 3:30 (and only then when I was sleeping on the floor next to his crib holding his hand). So I didn't fall asleep until I could sneak into the twin bed in his room at 4:00. I just about cut my husband's hand off when he poked me to tell me my alarm was going off at 6:00.
@BourbonBiscuits awww reminds me of my DS...if he wakes up in the middle of the night he comes to my door and says "mommy will you lay in my bed?" we coslept for a long while and just last week we bought him a twin size bed and he's been sleeping in it all on his own except for the occasional night he needs mommy. I miss cosleeping!
@danixbanani24 that was the hardest part - I tried just bringing him in bed with us (that usually does the trick) and he just tossed and turned for hours! We kind of accidentally coslept for a while (to get through a sleep regression - 4 month regression maybe?) so it's still sometimes a last resort. He sleeps better on his own because he likes to sprawl out all over the place. We tried to do the big boy bed transition over the summer but he just wasn't ready. Last night he kept crawling out, so I'm thinking it's time to start trying again.
@BourbonBiscuits- How old? We have a toddler bed in the basement waiting to come into the picture at the right time and I cannot figure when that is. My kid seems uncontainable without crib rails and his sleep sack.
@katamca I’m safely stuck in southern Indiana but we were just watching the weather channel coverage and hurricanes scare the snot out of me. I feel like they’ve had so much less time to prepare for this one, it just came out of nowhere.
@BourbonBiscuits@danixbanani24 you’ll be thankful that you cut the co-sleeping when you had the chance. I’ve got a tall almost 8 year old who still insists on sleeping with his mama every night. Meanwhile, my 2.5 yo LOVES her crib.
ETA: Granted, the only reason it ever lasted this long is because my husband has worked nights since Eli was a baby so I never really pressed the issue. Adam stays up so late on his off nights he usually passes out on the couch until we leave for school/work anyway. But still.. kid is all elbows.

It's awful. My co-worker has a beach house in Port St. Joe where it's hitting directly.
@katamca funny you say that, for the last several years we have rented a house on Anna Maria Island (south of Tampa) but for next year we decided to switch it up and we recently rented a house on the island facing the gulf at Port St. Joe for July. I hope the community pulls through okay.
@cmjenkies I hope so too! It's potentially completely devastating to the area. I've vacationed in Panama City Beach since I was a child (so 30+ years) so I know the community and area well.
@cmjenkies Yeah I knew I needed to cut the cord (again lol) before it became a long time habit...although I know I climbed into my parents' bed every now and then even when I was older too haha.

He's almost 19 months. We asked our pediatrician when was the best time to switch him (with the goal of switching him before baby comes to minimize changes as much as possible) and ped said to switch him as soon as he starts climbing out.
@BourbonBiscuits- Ah makes sense. Mine, who is 25 months, also would have started climbing out long ago if we didn't trap him in sleep sacks like we do. So cruel! .
I live in SC and it’s all everyone is talking about right now. I can’t imagine what they’re going through down there. The videos and pictures coming out of FL right now are devastating. They canceled school for all of our kids because it’s supposed to come through here, but it will only be a tropical storm by then. It’s been a bad hurricane year for the southeast.
The pictures and videos are shocking. I feel so bad for all those people. It feels like this one came out of nowhere! Hope as many people as possible managed to evacuate in time.

@PurplePoppy424 stay safe! Yeah the videos are just unreal. I was watching a live storm chaser earlier going through Mexico Beach, FL right when it hit and I’ve never seen anything like it. They pulled over and broke in a house to take cover because the surge came up so quickly, and his truck quickly went under water.. across the street from the water even.
I feel terrible for everyone in the Florida panhandle. I'm up in Atlanta and it's been pouring for about an hour now, with no sign of letting up. If the rain is this heavy here, I can't imagine the volume of rain in the path of the actual storm. I hope people were able to prepare enough or evacuate. This one really escalated quickly.
Just left my monthly appointment. Going to enjoy October and November because I’m going to be living at that office come December. Because of GD I’ll be having NSTs twice a week and extra growth scans. Glad baby girl and I will be well looked after, that I don’t have co-pays and most importantly, that they have free Wi-Fi.
My kid took a picture of me yesterday with my shirt tucked into my leggings, no bra so my boobs were looking at the floor and in the middle of saying “Dooooon’t take a picture of me!”
My mother told me today she plans to come up and stay 6 weeks when the baby gets here. Ummm no. Nooooo. She then also thought my MIL would stay 6 weeks after her for some unknown reason? I love the idea of them both staying a while but 6 weeks is insane!
@megpants209- Why would anyone want such a horrid thing?! My mom stayed 4 DAYS when my son was 2 weeks old and that was definitely at least one day too many, ha
I didn’t ask anyone to stay! I’m still so floored by this. Frankly, I’m insulted. And if you really want to help, the time is not when I’m home for months, it’s when I’m going back to work.
Ahhh I gotcha. And good for you for getting a break to cool down first. It’s still not pleasant to deal with though and hopefully after some space you can talk it through

Almost tempted to do that, but use the pic where you can very clearly see baby's lil wiener. Almost.

I just discovered 46 selfies that my kid took on my phone while I was making dinner last night. Can’t stop laughing.
