Re: Sep 2018 FET

  • @northbeach3 we hope it is minor too. If they don’t call is there a chance u can stop by their clinic ? On your way back
  • Loading the player...
  • GL @mrsyng and @kfs825, keep us posted!
@northbeach3, sorry to hear about your spotting! I hope they will get back to you shortly and give you some reassurance/getting you in for testing or something... I will be praying for you
  • well, i was anticipating that they would NOT bring me in so I've just been monitoring everytime i wipe. no more red / heavy spotting, just residual brownishness when i wipe.

the nurse did just call me back and the RE thinks it's irritation of the cervix from the suppositories. i should call back if it is heavy like a period for more than 24 hours or significant heavy cramping.  You guys called it earlier this week. I always tell y'all to trust your doctor, so i'm going to try and do the same and keep living my life as if i've still got something growing inside.

i just really hate IF... nothing can ever be simple or easy. :\  the waiting continues.

  • Yes @northbeach3 I understand. For doctors it might be just spotting but for the uncertainty will cause lot of anxiety. I am sure everyone of them in group hate IF and the stress it brings.

I remember how care free I was when I first got pregnant in 2016 until I saw spotting. I even went to work out everyday that time  :s IF makes everything hard and complicated.

Please hold on that’s all we can do anyway
  • I had my first beta today and my HCG level was 416.2! My doctor feels good about the number so she is not having me come back in for a beta #2. My next appt is for my first ultrasound on Oct 24, which will be 6w+3.

As far as symptoms go, I haven’t really had any other sore boobs for a couple of days. Unfortunately I can’t really tell if there has been any spotting because I am taking progesterone suppositories that are red, which is the worst possible color they could have made them! Whhhyyyy would they make them red?!? Anyway, I’m back to the waiting game again.
  • congratulations @kfs825 that's an exciting news! very happy for you! and 10/24 is my transfer day! GL to you. for my IUI's my progesterone supp were blue I think not red, so maybe you can ask for it, maybe...
@northbeach3 glad to hear that the spotting has stopped and you are at a better place emotionally, sending you positive vibes and keeping you in my prayers!

Congratulations @kfs825. Great numbers for 10dpt.

I would say it is a blessing in disguise with red u can always assume it is progesterone and be happy during the wait. ;) I know it is not that easy
  • @kfs825 that is a great beta, congrats!!! Now the long wait for the ultrasound, you can join me! I've never heard of someone having just one beta so that must be a relief that they're that confident in your first one.

@northbeach3 glad it has slowed down and it doesn't sound like they're concerned so that's good news!

  • @kfs825
What kind of crazy person makes progesterone suppositories RED? Of all the colors they could have picked...jeez

  • @Momifbysea wow great numbers!!! Im so excited for you! I have been having mild nausea on and off- i was wondering the same thing but was just gonna hope it was normal. So glad you asked!
@kfs825 i didnt get that dark of lines on my Wondfos until i was about 14dpt so yours look wonderful!! So does your beta!!
@northbeach3 i sorry youre spotting again! Its so aggravating that we have to deal with all the issues to get pregnant and then a whole host of new issues gets thrown in our laps. We should really get a pass on any spotting issues- its only fair. I hope it turns out to be nothing. Its a good sign that it isnt as bright red. It sounds a lot like my incident that the doctors said one of the blood vessels didnt get sealed off quick enough with the placenta implanting- hopefully yours is for the same reason. Also i was going through my ivf meds and i have 10 of the 8% crinone progesterone inserts. They dont expire until 1/2019. If you want them i can pop them in the mail to you- no sense throwing them out if someone can use them  especially as I remember them being way more expensive than the shots.

  • @northbeach3 cant you just do an insert on Sunday morning- just to ensure that you have proper coverage? I wouldnt think 1 insert is enough to cause problems.
  • @mbradfo2 we are of the same opinion. Red progesterone inserts seem to be sadistic... blue or purple seem to be  a good color if you had to dye it (which i dont know why they do)
  • @mrsyng beautiful ultrasound! Your measurements are wonderful as well! Im sorry you have to wait so long for another ultrasound (but glad there aint a need for you to be monitored more closely)
  • Congratulations @mrsyng. Awesome news !!
  • @mrsyng yayyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!! It looks beautiful, so happy for you! And now, another wait, but you're one step closer!

@justharrison okay, glad I'm not alone! Tonight and this afternoon it's changed to period like cramps. I swear I feel like AF is coming on but no blood. This is driving me crazy.
  • @mrsyn congrats! beautiful US!!!!
  • @Momifbysea it happened to me before beta exactly like u are describing I think cramping sometimes is OK
  • Okay ladies, I should have kept my mouth shut about not having nausea/vomiting as it is back with a vengeance. I was actually up all night being sick, about every half hour running in and dry heaving once there was no more in me (sorry for the grossness but I know you get it). So, trying to be positive as this is a good sign, but running on no food and sleep isn't great either. I just emailed the clinic nurse to ask about Zofran and also about taking my Estrace either via a patch or vaginally as I'm worried about vomiting and losing the pill I swallowed.

@kfs825 congrats on strong beta!!  Hate when the clinics do less monitoring but they seem to think it’s all good. I’ll be right there with you on wait!

@mrsyng what a beautiful little bean! Are you measuring on track? How are you feeling about one embryo implanting? We’re you nervous about twins?

@Momifbysea   Aww that sounds rough. I recommend this drink powder you mix with water (I recommend sparking/fizzy water) called sparkling mama. Got it on amazon. Has a mix of ginger and b6.  Seemed to help and kept me hydrated.

Afm, getting mostly clean wipes. Praying this little bean is growing and sticking around for the long haul. Still have a week and a day til first us. It’s a nail biter!

  • @northbeach3 glad to know spotting stopped.

@Momifbysea yay and sorry at the same time for nausea. I don’t have much experience here as I still don’t have any symptoms but I think gatroade kind of drinks might help.
  • Anymore tests or ultrasounds this week ? I know @justharrison is having her last one with her RE this Thursday and I am having my weekly blood work and scan on Thursday as well
  • @northbeach3 so so glad to hear bleeding stopped! Grow little one, grow! Thanks for your recommendation on the beverage, I'll check that out. I heard back from the nurse and she recommends a combination of B6 and Unisom but I'm a little nervous about potential negative impacts from the Unisom. I quickly researched it and it's FDA pregnancy category B, no known harmful effects from animal studies but no human studies. Hmm. Part of me thinks to just try the vitamin B6 and ginger and try and tough it out.

@bkatp thanks I can try those drinks too and see what works. I had been holding off on doing anything carbonated like a LaCroix or gingerale because I was told not to do that after transfer, but I think now that implantation happened, bubbly drinks wouldn't hurt anything since it's already attached. Hey, good luck at your weekly scan in just a couple of days!

  • glad to hear that your bleeding stopped @northbeach3
@Momifbysea GL with the nausea, and hope the drinks recommended by the ladies will help!
  • @Momifbysea so sorry about the n/v. During my us visit yesterday re asked if I’m experiencing any n/v. Of course, my answer was no and jinxed myself - during dinner we had pho and I felt the food was going to come back out but thankfully held it in with some sprite. I think the carbonation helped. I think I get small waves of nausea but no vomiting yet and I really hope it stays this way!!!

@northbeach3 the thought of having twins would have been great but also slightly scary but I think we would have been okay and maybe twins would have ended our cycle of life with IF. but we’re also very excited that at least one implanted and maybe even felt a little relief that it’s only one baby!! :) the CRL measured one day ahead at 6w6d when I was actually 6w5d.

Idk why but after our appt yesterday with a stronger than ever before possibility of having a thb in about 7.5 mons or so. I got to thinking about the “what if’s” - we’re not good parents, I’m not a good parent, if they grow up and hate us or me? am I just crazy? DH was “why are you even thinking like that?” Idk.. just thoughts of possible failures (I guess).
  • @mrsyng I am totally relating to what you're saying about your 'what ifs' - my anxiety has been through the roof the last few days (it's often brought on by the nausea and vomiting or being overtired, of which I have both now) and I started thinking things like am I too old for this, what the heck were we thinking, 5 cycles of ivf and now it looks like it might work and I'm freaking out. Can I do this? Am I too tired? etc. It sounds horrible, maybe just the 24 hour sickness and lack of sleep and hormones are doing this to me. Also, we have a trip coming up in a few weeks and are flying internationally and I'm so scared about that long flight and vomiting in public.
  • @mrsyng Awe girl I feel you! There's many times I think the same things! Like will be kid like me? Will I know what the heck to do? I wish they had a manual for raising babies!

@Momifbysea Take care of yourself! Sorry you've been having bad MS. It's crazy, we try so hard and when it's finally here we wonder...what did we just do? Make sure to bring lots of little brown lunch bags for your flight! Hopefully you're going somewhere fun! :)

Pho! How dare lovely pho cause you upset! It was my main food group (alongside chicken nuggets) in pregnancy   We have a bunch of new pho shops open in our area and my husband joked that his friends at work were telling him, "you should check out this new pho place!" and he said, "Yep, been there about 12 times in the past few weeks."

  • @kristimh80 will do, and thanks! I shouldn't complain as we've wanted this for so long! I think it's just hormones messing with me. I actually did sleep last night and only vomited once before bed and none through the night so I am very thankful for a few hours "off". We are actually going on a transatlantic cruise so are flying to London and then hopping on a ship for 13 nights to come across the ocean and stopping in NYC, Boston, and Florida before flying back home. Like I said, once I'm done with the long flight and on the ship I should be fine, unless we hit hurricane waves or something, LOL! This trip was planned a long time ago, assuming that if the July transfer had worked this would be past the time I would be sick. I actually plan to bring Ziploc freezer bags with me on the trip, that should do the trick!

@mrsyng how are you feeling now? I have to say, I love pho and I would think it would be easier on the stomach than some other things. But I guess it depends on what kind.

@babydust2507 you must be getting ready to start PIO soon right? Only 2 weeks left!!! I can't wait to follow your updates. How are you feeling?

@northbeach3 just checking in with you...is the spotting totally stopped? One more week!

  • @Momifbysea That sounds like so much fun!! Ask the doctor what meds you can take to help, so maybe can bypass anything bad :) Don't feel bad, I still complain. Come 2nd tri, you'll be complaining about going to thre bathroom all night instead lol

  • Thanks so much ladies for validating my crazy thoughts and normalizing them. I was just a little worried I was only going crazy. Lol

@mbradfo2 yes, I was so sad pho made me feel queasy!! I love pho too and was so hungry!! Hopefully, the next time I get pho it won’t give me the same feeling.

@Momifbysea your trip sounds amazing!! I really hope the nausea calms down a bit. I know the first & 2nd day on a cruise always gets me nauseated so I always ask for motion sickness patches.

As for the nausea, I’ve only noticed waves of nausea during dinner time considering I had pho Monday night and was too lazy to cook or drive for food last night and settled for a cheese quesadilla & a corn dog. Maybe it’s greasy? But pho isn’t greasy. Or maybe dinner time is just my normal time to feel nauseous?

Anyone else experiencing and other pregnancy related symptoms? Oh, I’ve also noticed my boobs aren’t as tender anymore either
  • @Momifbysea I had my appt this morning, my lining was at 8.5 mm and trilinear, I'm still waiting on BW result, hope everything looks good there too. I'm existed and nervous at the same time if you know what I mean... have fun at your trip, sounds amazing!!!!! and thanks for checking on me!
  • @mrsyng I think we have a LOT of hormones going through us and need to give ourselves a break. Plus think of what we've been through to get to this point. I know afternoon and evening is worse for me so sounds like you're the same.

@babydust2507 awesome lining! Woohoo! I forgot, is this your first FET?

@mrsyng believe it or not I had those feeling even before starting the treatment but I still want to have successful pregnancy very badly. So I decided that both feelings will coexist.

As far as symptoms are concerned I think I am imagining nausea and dizziness in the morning after breakfast. I am saying I might be imagining because I am not sure if I have them , they are that mild. Dizziness maybe more prominent than nausea. I might also imagining sore breast(not breasts ) cos I feel it mildly on left one. Can this even be true? I also have mild cramps every now and then. Lack of appetite and frequent visits to restroom (maybe cos I am drinking more water)

@babydust2507 congratulations good lining u still have 12 days and it will continue to increase till then. 19th is almost here do you enjoy PIO ?

@Momifbysea do u have sea sickness ? Trips sounds amazing. Hope you will Enjoy your trip without Nausea
  • @Momifbysea yes it will be my 1st FEt, I had a fresh transfer during my IVF cycle but it failed, no implantation, straight BFN, ugh ! so I'm very nervous when  think about that
@bkatp that sounds like symptoms to me! and i don't think it's your imagination, enjoy!
;) ugh! I don't even wanna think about PIO lol
  • @momifbysea thanks for checking.  i made it through yesterday with no spotting, but had some pinkish red wipes this morning. no blood, just pinkness as if my pee were pink. it happened shortly after putting in a new suppository, so im going to chalk it up to that.  the wipes are becoming clearer as the day progresses.

i had acupuncture today and my lady told me to continue the herbal pills she gave me to strengthen my blood/qi (chi), she said my pulse was weaker today.  i'd stopped them when the spotting started but she strongly encouraged me to continue them.  anyone else do herbs while practicing acupuncture?

re symptoms, had mostly been breast tenderness, fatigue, poor sleep... but i think today i'm feeling a little dizzy.  i'm gonna try to snack more between meals bc i only ate a light breakfast, then had dentist/acupuncture appointments and felt like i was getting light headed before i could stop for lunch.  feeling a little more human after eating, so hope lack of food was the culprit and eating more frequently helps.  i really dread more serious MS... it makes it hard to concentrate/get anything done.

congrats on thick lining @babydust2507 ! only a little bit longer until you're PUPO!
good luck tomorrow with your 8w u/s @justharrison! your progress gives me hope for my little bean! :)

  • @babydust2507 Congrats on the amazing lining! can't wait to see your updates!
@mrsyng I'm having waves of nausea, mostly after smelling something or after eating dinner/lunch. My worst symptoms has been the metallic taste. Everything taste like metal and very bitter. I remember this from when i was pregnant with my daughter. So foods that i used to love, i can't stand now. Bland foods are my thing now so it doesn't worsen the metallic taste. Anyone else have this weird symptom?

@northbeach3 I had acupuncture this afternoon also but I haven't used herbs in addition. Today I had her focus on the nausea and I have to say I feel a little better. Like I might eat more than crackers for dinner! The coolest thing was that today for the first time she gave me "to-go needles" which go on like bandaids at points for my nausea and I can keep them on for a week til I see her again! Happiness! Also, great news on your spotting, you know I spotted like that with DD through the whole first trimester and all was fine. Good to stay on top of monitoring it though.

@babyhopeful442 I had the metallic taste thing with DD but so far I don't have that. I hear you on the bland foods though. I find that smells (even like car exhaust smells) really get to me now. I'm glad you're still able to eat at least bland foods though. My acupuncturist today said that we have stores of nutrients from eating well the months before getting pregnant so that we don't have to stress much during the first trimester because the nutrient needs are not much. Just try and stay hydrated was what she mostly stressed.

@bkatp no sea sickness usually but I guarantee I'll have the nausea. I just have to find ways to cope.

  • Jumping in to share my experience with symptoms

    TW for previous pregnancy

The thing about symptoms is that the range is so wide it's crazy.
Last time I had MS all the time during 1st tri. Stopped right between 12w and 13w. It was more motion sickness than morning sickness because every movement made me want to barf.
This time the MS is here to stay as I'm in 2nd tri and still feeling it. No idea what's the trigger this time so I just roll with it.
Sore boobs have been on and off in both times. It feels like when there's a surge in hormones, my boobs react. Sometimes one is more achy than the other, and I think it has to do with the sensitivity of each milk jug *haha made myself laugh with this one*
Cramps is something I've experienced only in the first few weeks after ET but because the cramps can be caused by the progesterone, I've always chucked them as side affects of the meds.
Tiredness, bouts of crazy hunger, food aversions, heartburn. Pregnancy can be so much fun
