YES!!!! I've been holding my breath for you all afternoon @northbeach3 and I am so happy you got to see baby today WITH a HB (and a great one at that)!!!! SCHs are so nerve wracking but I am keeping my FX that it reabsorbs quickly and you have a very uneventful pregnancy from here on out.

Did your RE give you any instructions/restrictions? My old doctor was very nonchalant about mine when I had one 2 years ago and I continued with normal activities (and the SCH got too big), so now I always wonder "what if" since I see a lot of women are put on pelvic rest when an SCH is discovered. If your RE didn't put you on pelvic rest, I'd put youself on rest and also do the bare minimum until it resolves. Hope you have the chance to just lay on the couch all weekend!

Another member of the holding-my-breath club here! I've been thinking of you all day and hoping against all hopes that everything would be OK. I want this to be your time!! So I'm delighted to read the update
SCH should hopefully resolve itself quickly and I second the question of whether your RE put you on any restrictions? I was on light activity (mostly vegging on the couch) with my non-SCH spotting during my 1st trimester, avoiding all household chores/etc. And pelvic rest until I had 24-48 hours with no spotting (which only happened a few times and I really wasn't interested in that sort of thing anyway since it caused more spotting and just made me more nervous).

Put your feet up and relax!

truly, you all are amazing warrior women. i'm misty eyed reading your posts.  i want to allow myself to be forward-looking but i always pull back worried about the other shoe dropping.  i do feel like a large weight has been lifted and i was able to re-focus on the tasks at hand at work today. hopefully i'll be able to remind myself of today's outcome when pessimistic patty wants to come out. thank you again!

i somehow missed @tosh24 and @mbradfo2's responses when i replied.  my doc also seemed to be very non-chalant, but told me to "take it easy" with the activity.  i assume pelvic rest means no sex?  i was already on that until the second u/s at 9 weeks.

fortunately, i will be able to take it easy this weekend. first weekend all semester with NO GRADING!! so looking forward to catching up on some netflix.  come to think of it, last weekend, I was very active with home projects, including disassembling/reassembling our old Queen bed and moving it to our guest bedroom, and then assembling a new King bed for our master bedroom. I remembered thinking I probably shouldn't be doing all this lifting and dragging.  well, now i have good excuse to make the DH do all the chores! :)

@northbeach3 I had spotting anytime I was moderately active so I took it extremely easy for a few weeks.  It sucked.  And yes, pelvic test means no sex or orgasms at all - anything that causes uterine contractions can cause bleeding.

@Momifbysea im sorry you are having a hard time with morning sickness. Though ive heard its a sign of a strong pregnancy- so maybe that will help a little.
@northbeach3 im glad they found a reason for your spotting but sad you have a SCH. Hopefully it will either resolve itself or stay the same size.
@bkatp your ultrasound looks beautiful and so clear!! All of mine have looked grainy.

AFM, my ultrasound last thursday was somewhat okay. The CRL has me measuring a day ahead (we keep bouncing between a day ahead and a day behind) which is fine. The old SCH has clotted off and looks healed however i have a new small one in a different location. My GS sac is measuring 4 days behind and when i asked my dr if this is a big concern his response was “well you were measuring 5 days behind last week so you made up a day” if it isnt a big deal why would he not say anything this week but then say something this week. It makes me feel like he is trying to prepare me just in case. I have one more appt with him on Thursday as well as my new obgyn- i had to see the new obgyn Thursday or wait 3 weeks as he is going on vacation. Which im not happy about at all- im not comfortable waiting three weeks for an appt when these past 4 weeks have had so many ups and downs. I thinking of asking my RE if i can stay for a few more weeks.

  • Options
@justharrison glad to hear from you and know that the baby is ok. as far as the GS maybe if your RE didn't say anything last week it's because he didn't wanna alarm you and see how it will look at your next appt so as long as he still see progress he is not too concern about it, i'm pretty sure everything is ok and this is your time! can you ask for a different obgyn then? otherwise I will try to stay longer with your RE if you can, but if not you'll still be ok otherwise they would have not release you from RE or give you a obgyn that will be gone during your transition
  • Options
@justharrison as of this morning I have absolutely no morning sickness now and don't feel pregnant at all! Like no symptoms today, NOTHING! It is messing with my mind and I am incredibly scared for my ultrasound. I am having trouble believing it will be good news. I think this is normal. And maybe the sickness will hit again this afternoon and I'll breathe a sigh of relief. The wait is killing me! Anyways, that's awesome that you're measuring a day ahead, must be a relief to know that! I understand you wanting to ask the RE to stay a few more weeks, I'm planning on doing the same!
  • Options
@justharrison glad to know that ur such has healed. My clinic is not measuring gestational sac in all the reports or ultrasounds they did I do not see gestational sac measurement anywhere. So I am not sure how important that measurement is and even according to your RE, you were doing better than earlier correct so maybe it will rectify itself
  • Options
@justharrison I would think it’s good that the GS is still growing and you made up a day.  I remember when I had my US my RE made a comment about how it measured right on track which “never happens”.

@justharrison sorry that you got mixed messages at your ultrasound. sounds like the CRL is right on track and that your SCHs seem to be under control.  How was the FHR?  fx for your thursday appointments and that you can get an "extended stay" with the RE.

@Momifbysea yes the loss of symptoms is disconcerting. i'm sure it's only temporary and they'll be back with a vengeance.

afm, i'm feeling "gross" -- like a combination of bloated, hungry but not hungry [b/c nothing sounds good], and foggy-headed. this went on all weekend and i'm now trying to manage at work today.  i'm assuming this is a type of nausea?  it's not as severe as i experienced with my first BFP which felt like being hungover and motion sick at the same time.  eating sometimes helps but the feeling only subsides for a bit.  i'm curious what everyone's sleep as been like too.  i keep waking in the middle of the night and having trouble falling asleep -- a combination of anxiety and discomfort (bloated; hungry but not hungry).

anyone else had this experience? -- since I haven't moved over to PAIF yet, figured I could get a little weekly check-in going here.  :)

@northbeach3 I love your idea for a check-in here while we wait. We have to pass the time somehow, right? Ugh...the....waiting. I keep feeling like this experience should teach me patience but instead I think I'm just becoming more self-aware of my impatience, lol!
    • Gestational age: 6w1d
    • How's your sleep? I can usually get to sleep but then I wake up super early like before 5am and then just lay there even though I'm tired I can't sleep, probably nerves about thursday's ultrasound
    • How's your appetite? well, I've only wanted carbs until today, like I said above, nausea is totally gone and I'm hungry and want to eat pretty much everything (which terrifies me, why do I feel so normal?!?)
    • What does your nausea feel like? when I've had it it's really intense, I vomited a few times but not for 5 days now. It's there 24/7 but I've found eating some crackers by my nightstand before getting out of bed has helped, and forcing myself to sip fluids all day has helped too
    • Are you foggy-headed? yes, was really dizzy yesterday and I get winded just walking

    • How's your appetite? It’s okay. Strong smells of anything really irritate my nose.
    • What does your nausea feel like? I’m not really getting a lot of nausea.
    • Are you foggy-headed? Not really. Or not that I can think of at this moment
    • Other symptoms/issues: my boobs, they keep growing & they’re annoyingly heavy - I think I need new bras

@babydust2507 thanks for the words of encouragement! Im gonna see if my RE will keep me for an extra few weeks. My obgyn is one of the best around and he is the only doctor in his practice (he has a few midwives and PAs).
@Momifbysea i know how you feel- ive had no MS, only a few days of nausea off and on. If it werent for feeling so tired all the time i would think i wasnt actually pregnant. I wish some symptoms would kick in so i could really start to feel pregnant.
@bkatp its not on my ultrasounds either. I think he is recording the measurement for his sake. I didnt know he was still even measuring the GS until he said something. Id read online that if it doesnt catch up it could cause a miscarriage or if doesnt it could cause kidney damage in the little guy. Im probably getting myself worked up over nothing- it just bothers me that he said something this week and not last. If he still wasnt concerned why did he even say anything? 2 more days until i get some answers- it feels like a lifetime.
@mayflower513 thanks! I hope thats the case for me.
@northbeach3 yes! After almost 3.5 weeks it looks like me spotting has finally stopped which makes me really happy. Im hoping that thebsecond SCH has gotten smaller or has resolved itself by Thursday. My RE has yet to tell me an exact FHR- he said patients get too caught up in exact numbers. At my last appt (or maybe the one two weeks ago) he said that by “eyeballing it” it was “greater than 140 and thats perfect”.
I think a weekly checkin would be great! Ive been bouncing back and for between PAIF and May 2019 Moms checking things out. PAIF doesnt have much going on for ladies in the 1st trimester. The 2nd and 3rd groups are very active however. So i wouldnt mind staying in our group lol.

    Gestational age: 8w4d

Hows your sleep: wonderful! Out like a light (as long as DH aint snoring!)

Hows your appetite: most of the time it is fine. However sometimes i cant eat anything.

Are you foggy-headed: it happened several times last week but not so much anymore as long as i take a nap/go to be early.

other symptoms/issues: sore breasts (was all over but mainly towards the armpits now.) wish i had more symptoms!

As has happened before, nausea is back full force as of 2 hours ago. This is why I feel so crazy! Felt fine all day and then BAM! It hits me hard. I should've enjoyed the respite!
  • Options
@Momifbysea should I say glad to know ur Nausea is back or sorry  ;).

@justharrison I didn’t know that, maybe he spoke out aloud as a good sign and also your FHR is good as it is greater than 140. At 7 weeks time frame mine is 136. So everything must be good.

@bkatp i hope it is. We have been through this so many times, its easier to believe something is going to go wrong rather than turn out good.
    when is your next appt?

haha, i've had a hectic day at work, but popping in to check in...i'm always fascinated by the range of symptoms. but it sounds like everyone is doing more or less okay.  i'm managing now with my "Sparkling Mama" b6/ginger add-ins.  Make me partially human, but still have a grumbly upset stomach. had some more dark red/brown discharge today... hope it's a sign that the SCH is clearing out and healing.

here's a topic of convo!  what do you think about the recent meghan markle pregnancy announcement?!  i'm, of course, super happy for her/them, but also am experiencing some weird bitterness/pettiness. We are the EXACT same age... like down to the day (we share the same birthday/year)... so i'm feeling some kind of way.  I've already seen the tabloid mags calling her AMA and having a geriatric pregnancy. they didn't give a explicit due date, just "Spring 2019" and estimating her between 12-15 weeks.  anyway, i'm happy that she didn't have any "trouble" (at least I presume not)... but am kinda playing out a second timeline where the royals experience IF and the kind of attention that could bring to couple's who struggle with IF.  anyway, that's what ran through my mind. haha

@northbeach3 I always wondered if celebrities experience IF how long can it be kept secret? Will it not come out eventually? Once everything is said and done if I have a baby in my hands I want to publicly post on FB about my IF problems how it became topic of discussion for Everyone else. Not sure if I doing the right thing by doing what I am planning to.

Positive part with geriatric pregnancy is that more tests are covered with insurance

anyone prepping for Halloween. Do move my mind away from my pregnancy I am planning to dress my dog (Sasha) up and take her to Halloween party  :D

I brought this up with a friend and she thought that MM maybe had done some type of fertility already— like freezing her eggs— given that she presents herself as a feminist and maybe knew her career might delay when she could conceive. We also discussed if she would pull a “Kate Middleton” and look amazing hours after birth or if she’d be more “real” about post birth appearance. (((Shrugs))

    @northbeach3
I thought I remembered reading somewhere that she had frozen her eggs? Unfortunately, whatever she might want to do, she's now part of the big British royal system that controls a great deal of what she can say or show. Although it seems to me like Harry is one of the more relaxed royals who likes to do his own thing.

And celebrities really do need to be more upfront about struggles conceiving, especially as you get older. So many celebrities just "poof" have babies post 40 and alot of women think that it's no big deal so they don't explore their options when they are younger. Did the Kardashian someones have IVF or something? I don't really pay attention to celebrities >.>

And YES, the transition to the OB is rough! Going from reassurance every week to reassurance every couple weeks. That was one of the reasons I got a home doppler. I just couldn't go that long without some reassurance that all was well.

PAIF is pretty light for 1st tri -- I think that's largely the result of everyone's nerves and the anxiety associated with the 1st trimester in particular. We've all had struggles and losses and joining a board like PAIF might be more anxiety provoking in the 1st tri, I think. I know I stayed away from boards completely until late 2nd tri.

Thanks @bkatp it's been nonstop ever since. I keep repeating "this is a good thing" over and over. Only down 1.5lbs which for 6 weeks isn't bad. First time around lost 17lbs in a week and a half but that was weeks 9-10 as I recall. How are you feeling at this point? And I love that you're dressing your dog and taking to a Halloween party, that's an awesome distraction at this time!

@northbeach3 I wondered the same about MM, about if she froze her eggs. She may have been counseled to after her first marriage ended. I wish someone had counseled me about it, as I was so naive and like PP said, you see Hollywood pregnancies and don't know it's IVF and you get to thinking, oh it'll be fine...

@babyhopeful442 good luck at your ultrasound today!
  • Options
@mbradfo2 you are right about looking at celebrities and thinking we will be fine.

@babyhopeful442 good luck with ur ultrasound today I thought yours was tomorrow along with us.

@Momifbysea I am doing fine so far. I don’t have many symptoms that are bothering me except fatigue. So loosing 10lbs was ok per your doctor ? Maybe u need to supplement with other nutrients
  • Options
@bkatp the losing 17lbs was over 5 years ago in NY...and yes, we were concerned because I couldn't even keep water down that well and survived pretty much on mac and cheese and cheezits for a few tough weeks, but the OB/GYN said during the first trimester as long as you're keeping your prenatal pill down and staying hydrated, the baby needs very few nutrients and gets what he/she gets from your body's nutrient stores anyhow. Whew! Fast forward to last week and my acupuncturist said the same thing, it's okay for the first trimester to just get by on whatever you can keep down.

@Momifbysea good to know. I don’t have a lot of problems eating and keeping it down. Good luck with ur ultrasound tomorrow

@justharrison good luck to you too

also hope @babyhopeful442's scan went well today.  let's go little beans -- strong heartbeats and on-track CRL!!
