@northbeach3 don't even try to figure everything out now.  Just go with it.  I hate how long the wait for the first US is, it's like torture!  My clinic had me go in for a 3rd beta the week between which at least somewhat helped.  As far as everything in the 2nd and 3rd trimester, I think it's all in T1 and 2.  And the one thing I like about my OB office is they scheduled the anatomy scan, echo and diabetes test all at my first appointment.  When you get to that point maybe you can do that too

  • @babyhopeful442 congratulations.

How do they measure baby without fetal pole? Is it the gestational sac measurement?
  • @babyhopeful442 yay. That’s awesome! The wait is a killer but hang in there..
  • Tomorrow will mark longest I have held any pregnancy without progesterone stopping the AF. Fingers crossed for me for tomorrow.

Even with progesterone there was breakthrough bleeding around this time frame and the embryo stopped growing at 4w 3D (that’s what sac measured at 8 week ultrasound).

I am just hoping it won’t be blighted ovum tomorrow and this will be different pregnancy.
  • @bkatp yes it was the gestational sac measurement. can't wait to see your updates from your ultrasound soon!

  • congrats on the promising scan @babyhopeful442! sounds like you're three days ahead of me, so i'm in the same two week window as you for next US.  today, i'm 5w0d.

good luck tomorrow @bkatp! each day feels like it's own victory... i'm hoping you've got good stuff brewing in there and that you'll see it on th us tomorrow!

afm, i can't tell if i'm having spotting or not. normally, when i wipe, i get traces of the progesterone suppository that are usually solid white.  today, it's a mix of white and light brown.  i'm wondering if i'm passing some dried blood?  i definitely haven't seen any RED blood... but i also haven't seen any dried blood or clumps.  anyone else ever have this? i'm trying to analyze if i've been experiencing more cramping lately... i usually haven't felt much, but now i think i'm feeling cramp like things... or maybe it's just bloating.   talk me off a ledge!!

  • @northbeach3 I read lot of stories about crinone kind of suppositories causing irritation to cervix and there by causing dark brown blood. Last time I used crinone same thing happened to me as well. U can google it and ul find lot of stuff.

If if it is bothering you get one more beta in between for assurance
  • @northbeach3
That's one of the reasons my doctor switched over to PIO only for transfers -- too many people got some brown discharge or spotting from the suppositories irritating the now very vascular cervix. I think they were tired of getting calls from freaked out pregnant ladies!

@Momifbysea I actually saw my OB  at 11 weeks, same exact day I was 100% done with all my meds. I'd ask your RE when they release you, then call the OB and see what their protocol is. My OB wouldn't schedule me until I was released from the RE :) Plus, they will ask your RE to send them medical records, so you will need to sign off on that as well.

  • @babyhopeful442 congrats on the good news, I'm crossing everything for your continued good progress!

@bkatp thinking of you for tomorrow and I have a good feeling!

@northbeach3 I wish I had some wonderful "talk off ledge" advice, but just breathe and hang in there! I know. Way easier said than done.

I'm excited to hit the road tomorrow for beta 1. I'll drive 4 hours, be there 15 minutes, and then turn around home. But I think the driving alone time will actually be really nice, good thinking time with myself, lol. Had acupuncture today and am ready to get this show on the road and see what's going on in there!

  • Thanks ladies! It never occurred to me that the suppositories could irritate the cervix. I’ll try the trick of only putting it in far enough to stay. I was treating them like tampons and trying to get them up in there. The wipes are getting more “white” so I’m gonna try to breathe easy now. In fact, about to go to acupuncture, so hope that is more centering for me. :)

@mbradfo2 how frequently did you have to administer PIO if not also on suppositories? I’m on a once a week PIO + supps 2x daily.

AFM, I’m turned around and about an hour into the drive home. I just watched the clinic call and vm come in so now I have to ignore it til I get home to listen with DH! Will never have had such temptation to speed in my life! The nurse did caution that, even after I showed her the pic with all the tests, that even though it’s datker lines that the tests are so sensitive that it could still come back a low number. In my head I was like “ugh!” But I feel positive and will report later once I’m home and listen.

Anyone of you getting tested for estrogen and progesterone as well along with hcg what should they be at? My nurse told me that E should be above 150 and P should be above 40. So my E dropped to 141 from 181( below 150 ref value) and P dropped from 69 to 57 ( but still above 40) for last test on Monday.   Ofcourse they didn’t even mention about this drop,  when I am looking at the results and reference values she gave - I am seeing that it dropped.

Any experience or knowledge on this ?
  • @bkatp my RE never tested my progesterone, so i asked a MFM to measure it for me and my progesterone was 79 today. but i have no idea on the estrogen.

  • @Knottie1454544148 that a beautiful sonogram picture and its great that you heard heartbeats!!!
@Momifbysea I survived by POAS every morning! (That also how im making due between the weekly ultrasounds.) My RE informed be today that my last appt will be in two weeks (so when i am 9wks) and that I needed to call and make an appt with my OB. I dont think i will be ready to leave! I am used to weekly appt. your test line at 13dpt is darker than the control line (mine didnt do that until 15/16dpt) so i have to believe you have a great beta!
@bkatp that was a wonderful 3rd beta and a great ultrasound!! Im so happy for you! My clinic stops testing E after the first beta (as long as it was a normal value) and they stop doing the HCG after they see a heartbeat. That are only testing progesterone and they just tell me if its above/below 60, sorry i cant be of help. Im sure if it was an issue they would have brought it to your attention but I would call back in the morning just to make sure (no need to unnecessarily worry about anything you dont need to is my motto- we all have enough on our plates as it is.)
  • @mayflower513 thanks for the heads up! I feel like now that they explained what exactly is happening i will be better prepared for it to happen again. Though the RE said it looks like it is clotting off and will hopefully be squeezed out as the baby gets bigger. How did your scan go? I cant seem to find you on PAIF.
@northbeach3 thanks for the well wishes! Thats great that you are staying busy in between dr. visits. Going overseas for Christmas sounds wonderful!
@mrsyng youre welcome! I wish they would have explained that sooner. I think they would have less pregnant ladies ringing them and making unnecessary appts if they did. Going forward im not going to call to come in until the bleeding doesnt stop after an hour or two (or atleast im going to try).
@mbradfo2 thanfully i havent bled any large amounts (yet). Im going to try to remain calm and wait and see if it stops before rushing to call the clinic. However they see me weekly so i feel better about that than if inhad to wait two weeks in between visits.

AFM i had another ultrasound today. CRL measured 9.12mm so i am measuring 6w6d instead of 7w exactly but im staying consistently a day behind and my RE said that is nothing to worry about. Now i just have to make it another 7 days until my next scan and try to quit worrying about every little thing  :)
  • Glad to get an update from you @justharrison and know that everything is going and rolling are it's supposed to
  • congratulations on the great beta @Momifbysea!!!!! very happy for you! now relax and start enjoying your pregnancy! when is your next beta? so how many weeks are you? and yes it's possible, your time has come!!!
