I'm WFH today so I can collect all my pee in a jug. I followed up with my OB this morning re: the bleeding on Saturday, so I'm hoping his nurse gives me a call back BEFORE the 8:30 conference call I have coming up. Other than that, I plan to work in my jammies alternating between the couch, the dining room table, and my bed with snacks and meals interspersed.
@tumblefluff moving the Bach party discussion into here to reply to your asking for other ideas!
Wine tour plus spa day sounds awesome. I’ve also done wine glass painting, which could easily be mugs, canvases, boards with folksy sayings, whatever. There are many local options for paint & sip, plus a few franchises like Board & Brush that have the same concept.
@MRDCle I'm sorry, that seems harsh. I guess pelvic rest makes sense since they thought it was too much bleeding. But did they give you a reason for the weight limit? I'm bad and have ignored my Dr on weight limits at least a few times a week.
Thanks everyone. Yeah my placenta is currently covering my cervix so they do have their reasoning behind it. I'm just struggling to figure out how to explain to him I can't pick him up for now without giving him reason to resent the babies. Thankfully we'll have plenty of ultrasounds so hopefully if/when it moves (they say it has a really good chance to move up as the uterus expands!) we'll figure it out early.
@kangstadt my MIL and one of my SILs both live within 10 minutes - SIL took him while I went to the ER and MIL took him yesterday so I could tidy up and rest so I do. They're really great and always willing to help, thankfully!
@MRDCle, yeah, I've been trying not to put the focus on the baby causing any of my symptoms, but still DS said something the other day about the baby making me sick to my tummy, and it being a bad baby. Sigh. They're too intuitive for their own good sometimes.
I’m struggling a lot with sciatica and round ligament pains. Particularly the sciatica. My lower back was so pinched and painful last night, I could barely get into bed. I’m looking forward to getting off work tonight so I can finally get off my feet. I’m going down to half time in January and I’m really hoping to just tough it out until then. I love my job but being on my feet all day is tough.
@thatbaintforbetty that really sucks. I hope you can get relief from the throwing up soon! @MRDCle, hopefully they don’t keep you restricted for too long.
@thatbaintforbetty, that sucks. I threw up yesterday morning, I hate the headaches and shaky feeling afterwards. Hope today gets better for you.
@sdelg09, I've had awful sciatica and round ligament pain also. I know they say stretching helps, but for me it makes it worse. Do warm heating pads help at all?
@kangstadt yes! I’ve honestly used my heating pad for the last 4 days in a row. It’s a microwaveable one, so I pop it in for about a minute and a half and it’s warm for a while. I like it because I never feel like I have to take it off, since it starts to cool down after around 10 minutes.
@tumblefluff I've been to so many damn bachelorette parties so I'll try to think of some ideas for you, plus I secretly love planning things. I was going to suggest a spa/massage/facial situation as an option (I did something similar with my SILs), but then you're all greasy and messy after so it becomes a pain to get ready to go out after, unless you're all stopping home or at a hotel or something, then it could work. If you're looking at mani/pedis, you could also consider going to a blow-dry bar (I have such a thing for Drybar), or if you live in certain areas there are even services where you can have the salon brought to you (Glamsquad and Priv are the two I'm familiar with). Then like you said, a nice dinner is always great - for these types of things I tend to look for a fixed price menu if possible. Alternatively, if you want the day to be a little on the earlier side, brunch parties are pretty trendy these days, and also fun.
@mrdcle that really sucks. Would you be able to say "mommy can't pick you up right now, but you can sit with me"? Something like that?
I have trouble keeping up with the randoms, so I lurk a bit too much. Gonna try to do better! I finally got to see my baby on Friday and I'm relieved that all is well. I was REALLY nervous before that. My anxiety has been through the roof this pregnancy and it's making me slightly ragey. Ugh...hormones...lol
No Daycare today so DH stayed home with DD today. Hope he is doing ok!
2 is a HARD age. Its also a fun age. She is so talkitive and loving but its REALLY hard to go out in public because she is so curious and hates to sit still. We live in Florida so its still TOOOO hot to go outside during the day. ~90 degree around 2, hopefully some cooler weather around the corner so we can do fun things outside.

@MRDCle that sucks so bad, I'm sorry! I'm glad at least you have family nearby to help and I hope the placenta moves quickly! @kosmo86 2 is such a squirmy age, it a a full blown workout just going to the playground
My husband put some dry life jackets up in the attic yesterday and apparently that was too much for the sheetrock somehow.. grr. My car just moved to this side of the garage YESTERDAY which is super frustrating. Luckily my car is okay with maybe one small scratch, and my husband came home and cleaned up the mess already. He’ll probably end up putting some new plywood and sheetrock up this weekend to fix it up. Super thankful he is a great handyman!
Do y'all smell different? I feel like I smell different and it's bugging the hell out of me. This is my third pregnancy and first time feeling this way.
@mariposa_767s I don't feel like I smell different this pregnancy, but last pregnancy, dear GOD. I would shower three times a day because my own BO made me gag. Hormones are the worst!
@mariposa_767s I think I do smell different. But....and I'm sure it's TMI.....it's not really BO. I just think my discharge smells a little different. Or maybe because there's more of it. Anyway, it's definitely making me a little self conscious.
And this is totally random (I guess fitting for this thread) - but I've just started telling more people and I am constantly getting "WHEN are you going to find out the gender?" I don't know why it's bugging me - I guess it's because I always ask people IF they're going to, and I hate when people make assumptions about it. Let me just say that I think finding out the gender of the baby is 10000% fine. We just decided we don't want to, and it bugs me that people just assume everyone finds out - and that some people are somewhat annoyed that we're not finding out. It's driving me NUTS.
It was a loooong 3 day weekend basically solo parenting. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this here but my husbands days off are during the week and during my days off in the weekend he usually works 16 hour shifts. So it’s just me and the girls (3 and 2) and a fight to survive. I’m tired and really don’t want to go back to work tomorrow.
Ok, car messed up, pelvic rest, party planning and team green. You ladies are awesome.
today I had good news -great ultrasound, and bad news... my non pregnancy related bad news is that I have to limit my diet more and go on the FODMAP diet to try and stop my chronic diarrhea... it’s so hard! I’m craving everything I cannot have. going to a nutritionist on Thursday to get advice in making good sure I’m eating well enough to make a person.
@kbirchtree I'm sorry you have to change your diet drastically but I'm sure you'll be fine with whatever food you're able to eat. The baby will take everything it needs from you and the prenatal will round out your diet enough for fetal growth.
@Becky012016 I think I’m also just hungry and having a hard time finding foods to eat that have any value that I’m allowed to eat. I mean, im overweight so I don’t really have to gain much weight this pregnancy, haven’t gained yet, so it’s more a matter of comfort.
@kbirchtree chronic diarrhea sounds tough! I hope they can help you find good things about the new diet. I'm going to a dietist on Friday because they think I could have gestational diabetes and I'm overweight. I'm also scared they will just cut all carbs out out my diet which is the only thing I've been able to stomach these first months. I also hate being told what to do, but trying to go in with not too much negativity.
@kbirchtree@mamma_swede boo to any diets restricting yummy foods (like apples are off on FODMAP - what? Yuck). But yay for an opportunity to be creative and fix other health issues.
@kbirchtree I took a quick look at FODMAP because I hadn’t ever really heard of it and it looks like you can still make a few of my favorite fall dishes, like stuffed acorn squash, fennel salad (add mandarin oranges!), and most Christmas cookies (flour isn’t really clear, but there are many gluten free flours). Bummer that you can’t use garlic or onion (my favorite spice and bulk) but maybe the powdered versions are okay?
Ditto for you @mamma_swede - it looks like hummus is your friend, as are whole grains, so hooray for the range of whole grain products as compared to when we grew up!
and we should totally bounce ideas in a separate diet recipe thread
@kbirchtree boo. Having a constantly upset someach sounds awful. I hope the diet actually does control it.
Anyone else having insomia as a symptom? I am stressed at work, but that’s never kept me from sleeping before. And I’m always stressed at work. I feel like this recent insomnia thing might be pregnancy related... I fell asleep at like 9:30pm, but here it is 3am and I can’t get back to sleep.

eta: not a medical professional, so my ridicule is based on my being unable to avoid picking up 22 lb DD for more than an hour.

Is there anyone nearby you could have help out a bit for awhile until they give you an all-clear?
@kangstadt my MIL and one of my SILs both live within 10 minutes - SIL took him while I went to the ER and MIL took him yesterday so I could tidy up and rest so I do. They're really great and always willing to help, thankfully!
