Re: Oct 2018 FET

  • @ndz2018 i don't know if i'll poas or not.  i worry that if i get a negative i won't be able to make myself keep on doing the PIO. my butt is already sore even with the icing and the heating pad.

thanks @wishiwaspreggo and @hereforthebabies for all the analogies of the stickiness of the embryo!  i will try and visualize that when my mind is going to the negative place

@wishing-and-hoping LOVE THE SOCKS!! I'll have to take a pic of ours when we go for our FET.. I also got these adorable shirts that have pineapples on them and say "Think Positive" they are cute and the proceeds go to a couple is saving up for their FET. Here is the link and a pic of the shirts. I think today is the last day.

    https://linktr.ee/operationbabybump

  • @ndz2018 love the shirts, just ordered some! Unfortunately, they won’t be here in time for us to wear them, we’ll just have to sport ‘me for the tww 🙂
  • @hereforthebabies Really?!?! That’s so awesome! I got MH the long sleeve one! I know it takes a few weeks to come in so I’m hoping they’ll be here for our FET. I’ll HOPEFULLY know more this Friday... ugh I dont even care that my birthday is tomorrow I just want to get this saline sono done!
  • @cscronce I’m glad everything looked good!

@wishing-and-hoping I’m glad everything went well yesterday!  I have to wait 12 days for a beta (but I’m wondering if I get a bfpo at home, will they let me come in earlier?). I love those socks!  I’m totally ordering some for H and I!

    @ndz2018 I love that sweatshirt!

I have this coming to me... it should be here tomorrow

When I had my ER I had these socks & shirt (**TW I’m a huge Disney nut so to that group of friends we say baby dust a lot in place of pixie dust. I know on here it’s frowned upon)

  • @wishing-and-hoping....13 days?!?! Holy moly!  Sending sanity vibes your way too. Super cute socks!
@ndz2018  LOVE those shirts and what a great cause!

I created a transfer playlist on Spotify if anyone wants to use it. It’s called IVF positive. I’m originally from Hawaii so there are a few local songs on there but otherwise, it’s a pretty mainstream mix.

Hope everyone is having a great week!
  • Hello everyone...so i am new to this message board and was reading a bit but I’m sooooo behind it will take forever to catch up lol.

here is a little about me...first I’m also an October Birthday!!! 10/22 here and i will be turning 36.

i have a 7 year old son with my husband. When i was pregnant for my son, ovarian tumors were found. I had to have emergency surgery and both my ovaries were removed. My son is a champ and thank god stayed safely tucked in while the doctors operated.

Over the past 7 years, i have gone for consultations and initial testing several times to start the donor egg process, however financially it just wasn’t possible, until this year.

i did a shared donor cycle to help alleviate the cost. Our donor was on track to produce 20-30 eggs and we were ecstatic. Unfortunately she produced 18 of which only 10 were mature so we got 5. Of the 5 we got 3 embryos.

I did a fresh transfer on sept 16 which ended in a chemical. We were devastated. Although we told ourselves we were prepared for whatever and we knew the odds going in, it turns out i don’t think that’s something you can prepare for.

so here we are getting ready to do a frozen transfer this month. The date is looking to be somewhere around the 24th. I’m scared, nervous, excited, hopeful, and anxious.

Since last month’s was i have been obsessively reading message boards but never posted. I actually stopped looking at them for a few days because it was bordering on unhealthy. But here i am hoping to make a connection with a group of ladies  on this crazy journey.
  • @dreamunoz  Welcome to the group! So sorry to hear about your struggles and the cp last month.  Hopefully October will be your month!
  • Welcome @dreamunoz! we're gonna be transfer buddies! my transfer is scheduled for 10/24 too! and i feel the same way. i was so mad and frustrated when after my fresh transfer failed in August they couldn't get me in until october but now that the big day is approaching I'm getting nervous and have this what ifs running in my head. i'm trying to stay positive and glad that I've been extremely busy at work this week and next wednesday will have my 1st u/s and BW after being on estrace since 09/26. And your transfer is 2 days after your birthday so it's a good sign! will be the best birthday present!
@purplg8r love the socks!!!! they are so cute!!!!
@wishing-and-hoping 13 days that's a long time! sending you positive vibes too! and hope you will keep your mind busy. I know I would have POAS ! LOL and they played a song on my fresh transfer too it was pretty nice
AFM I asked the nurse about me being late on taking estrace she said that now that I'm taking it 3 times/day it's important to stay on schedule so I set up an alarm this time hope it will help!
  • @wishing-and-hoping Woo-hoo! Congrats on being PUPO! I think my clinic waits around that long to do Beta too. If you can I'd advise to hold out on the HPTs until close to Beta - I've seen vague results drive people crazy. So - lots of books and movies and Netflix and sure take up a new hobby! Take a 13-day challenge - Watch ALL the Marvel movies in their correct order etc.
And best sticky thoughts to Griffin5413  !! Yay!!
    Welcome
@dreamunoz :) I'm delighted you came out of lurking - I know how hard it is to make the switch from reading to joining in - I'm sure you'll find lots of help here <3 And I know even though you can say you're prepared for any outcome - just how heartbreaking it is when things don't work out. I hope this is the month for you <3

    And finally:

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY @ndz2018 !!!!!!!!!!!!
I know - I know - lots of things going on but it's your birthday and you deserve to take a day away from worry and stress and just treat yourself like a princess!! (hopefully this might be the last one you have time to do so  :):) )

Welcome @dreamunoz and I'm so happy you were able to finally pick up your journey.

@annielmartinez - that's an awesome playlist. Thank you for putting in that effort ... I can't remember the last time I put together a playlist (instead of searching). I heard a song recently that might make a good addition: "In My Blood" by Shawn Mendes. It helped me a lot through my last FET failure <3

@Bababatty and @Griffin5413 Have a great transfer day!!
@ndz2018 Happy birthday girl!! Hope this year brings you the best gift ever!!
  • @dreamunoz welcome!  Hopefully this cycle is it for you!

    @ndz2018 happy birthday!!

@Bababatty @Griffin5413 thinking of you today!!

AFM just had my ultrasound and bloodwork. Not  good news.  My lining didn’t increase at all (actually went down 0.2). They’re going to check my estrogen levels and maybe bring me in on Monday to re-check. Otherwise cancel the cycle completely. Which wasn’t even a thought in my mind and I’m feeling crushed.

Besides being disappointed, It also stresses me out.  My insurance doesn’t cover IF but H’s does. I went on his for just one year because it’s so expensive and there’s a lifetime max of $11,000 (so not worth it do do 2 years).  The billing dept said that would cover the ER, one FET and probably some of a second (none of the meds). So now I’m stressing that everything’s going to take too long and the year is going to be over.
  • @purplg8r Oh no I'm so sorry to read your update. I can understand how stressful and disappointing that must be. I'm really hoping your lining makes a huge recovery over the weekend. <hugs>

  • @purplg8r ugh, sorry for that bad news.  the insurance stuff on top of it makes it even more frustrating and overwhelming.  i am not usually a homeopathic type of person but i did follow some of what i read online about thickening lining when i needed to thicken mine - i drank raspberry leaf tea 2-3 times a day, ate pomegranate seeds, tried to eat warm foods, did yoga to get blood flowing. NO idea if any of that contributed but i feel like it couldn't hurt.  are you already on estrogen supplementation?

@Bababatty & @Griffin5413 GL today!  sending sticky thoughts your way!

@ndz2018 happy birthday!!! hope you get to enjoy it to the fullest.

  • @purplg8r - oh no, that's not what I was expecting to hear! I agree with @wishing-and-hoping, FX for you and maybe try some lining-increasing foods to see if that helps. Another surprising thing I found (food-wise) was don't have any spearmint or anything with hibiscus. My favorite tea (a mint blend) had both and I've been sad that I can't have it.

  • I'm so sorry @purplg8r, I know how disappointing a canceled cycle is :( I'm not sure how it all works, but can they not give you more time to build the lining up?
  • YOU GUYS!! Oh my gosh!! Thank you so much for the birthday LOVE!! I wasn't Feeling great about turning 38 today but you ladies just lifted my spirits! Thank you!

@purplg8r I'm so sorry to hear this news. Maybe try to drink lots of Pom juice, beet juice,RLT and any old wives tale you can google about and double it! Acupuncture , lay on a heating pad to get the blood flowing there? This is just what I would do if I were in your position. As for the insurance stress , it sucks! But you can def get this done by the end of this year. I'm sending you lots of thick and juicy thought to your UTE girl and all my love and light that this works out.

@Bababatty and @Griffin5413 HAPPY TRANSFER DAY!!!  :) Hoping today goes smoothly for the both of you!.
  • GOOD LUCK TODAY @Bababatty and @Griffin5413!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY @ndz2018 .. enjoy the heck out of your day!!!!

@dreamunoz Welcome! I can't believe you had your friggin ovaries removed while you were pregnant.. what a crazy story! So many libras on here I can't even handle it, hoping this is your lucky month <3

@purplg8r that's terrible news I am so sorry to hear that :( I was told (when my lining did the same thing last FET cycle) that the lining does not decrease without a bleed, but it becomes compacted once it is becoming mature. Did they say if it was the triple stripe at all? Can they give you like a boost of estrogen or anything? Every part of this process is so stressful, hoping things turn around for you <3
  • Happy birthday @ndz2018!!! hope you're enjoying your day and having a lot of fun! I wish you all the best starting with your sono test tomorrow and last but not least a successful FET with a healthy pregnancy and may you bring your baby home with this FET! <3
happy transfer day @Griffin5413 and @Bababatty, keep us posted!
@purplg8r, I am so sorry to hear that!, I agree with @mkr_0128 and @leilee101, can they keep you longer on estrogen and increase your dose or something? why was your lining like at this appointment? anyway I pray that your lining increase incredibly by next appt and you won't have to cancel it. I got my fingers crossed for you and keeping you in my prayers! sending you love and positive vibes your way! hang in there girlfriend!
  • @Griffin5413 and @Bababatty whoo! Happy transfers guys 😘 hope you both have a restful / wonderful day!
@ndz2018 Happy Birthday! Glad you’re feeling the love! Hope you get to enjoy today and be distracted for a bit.

@dreamunoz you have an amazing story, thank you for sharing. Best of luck for your FET, we’ll be rooting for you! Going through this with others can really help.

@purplg8r I am so sorry to hear that, cancelled cycles are so hard. My first FET was cancelled, and I didn’t see it coming either...in the end the timing for the next one worked out to be much better, but the waiting is beyond difficult. I’m hopeful it’s not over for your cycle yet, and your uterus surprises you! The year isn’t over yet either, you still have some time if you need to cycle again 🙏 one other thought is delestrogen. I know another gal who has had trouble getting a thick enough lining in the past who was on delestrogen in addition to estrogen this cycle and her lining was over 10.4mm this time around. Not sure if your doctor is open to suggestions, but it couldn’t hurt to ask!
  • Thanks for all the warm welcomes!!! Just in reading some of your posts...here is what i can say I learned from the last cycle and plan to do differently this time, maybe it can help some of u...

i obsessively tested the last time, starting at 6dp5dt. The first couple were negative which crushed us, then started getting faint lines which we were ecstatic and excited about, only to have the beta reveal a likely chem which devastated us. Next time i plan to either not test at all or if at all will test the day before.

when we got our positive hope test, we shared with a lot of people. Many people knew we were on this ivf journey and knew our transfer date etc. so when we got the two pink lines we were so excited we let those who knew we were on the journey know of the hpt results. Then to only have to share the devastating news a few days later. This time we will not let people know when the transfer is, we have kept people in the dark as far as whether we will be waiting to do another cycle or not. And if we end up preg, we will wait to share until we are out of our first trimester. This next transfer will be a highly personal one and kept to me and hubby, and perhaps my mom cuz i tell her everything.

I will quit caffeine at least one week before transfer. Before i quit right before transfer and i am a biiiig coffee drinker. The first couple days after the transfer i was agitated and extremely lethargic from caffeine withdrawal. I’m wondering if that affected my state of mind thus affecting the outcome. Although since the failed cycle, i have started coffee again, i have been mindful of how much as to not get full blown addicted again, and will stop with enough time before the transfer so i am not feeling the symptoms while my embie is trying to implant.

Anyways...u guys all seem so awesome and I’m glad i found all of u! Thanks for being on this journey with me and welcoming me into ur little club. Sending positive and loving vibes to all of u!!
  • I'm with you @dreamunoz on keeping quiet. I made the mistake to tell my SIL when we first started the IVF cycle then I got annoyed with her asking for update every time I see her, I'm like no! that's between me and my hubby now we will tell you when we get pregnant and after we pass the 1st trimester, so I have been making up stuff when she asks me. because when we got pregnant naturally we told the whole family both sides after the HPT result then we had to tell them again the bad news it was horrible, it's like going thru a the pain over and over every time when someone ask you
  • Anyone get any mild (like the annoying ones that feel like caffeine withdrawals or a hangover) headache or nausea from the estrogen + progesterone protocols? Thankfully, the crazy dreams took last night off, but today is just ... rough.

@ndz2018 - Happy birthday and hope you have a great day!

@dreamunoz - I'm with you on the testing. I will say I'm struggling with this FET, though, I'm just dying to test, but I know it will only add to the frenzy or frustration - whatever the results.

Do any of you have some suggestions on how to wait out the TWW without testing? TIA.

  • ugh you guys, my 5th blood test post D&C is at 27. It's literally cutting in half each week, so at this rate I won't even reach zero for a couple more weeks, which means I don't even have a shot at being in October FET. There isn't even a November FET board up yet ugghhh. This sucks :(
  • @leilee101 - NO! I'm so sorry, that's just disheartening. There's nothing that can be done to accelerate the drop to zero?

  • I'm really sorry @leilee101, i was hoping to hear some good news from you. I know the wait is devastating! you can hang around here. the same thing happen to me after my failure on my fresh transfer, and I was hoping for a Sep FET and ended up be a Oct FET and started the group, I am even among the last one in Oct FET lol, so I know exactly how you feel. I am so sorry tho! and you can start the November FET group! I will join you there too! since I'm late Oct and i get a BFP my betas will be in November
  • @purplg8r I'm so sorry for your news.  How frustrating.  I freaking hate IF, we keep our expectations so low and then even then we continue to be punched in the gut.  Wishing you the best right now.

    @ndz2018 HBD!

@Bababatty & @Griffin5413 Wow can't believe the 4th is already here! Happy transfer day!

    @dreamunoz welcome!

@leilee101 I'm sorry this is taking so long.  I really hope it reaches zero so soon so you can move forward.

@MamaK225 My only tip is to not buy any tests.  Maybe you have some left but i gave my last two digitals and couple cheapies to a friend who is trying.

AFM: I'm just annoyed today.  I definitely know i'm PMSing but i did a bunch of research on the best cost where I could purchase my prescriptions.  I wrote 3 different places to my clinic and the response was "we try to keep it to one specialty and one local" . Well first, it would have been nice if someone had said that before and i understand why BUT the difference is huge for me.  I know we are looking at the bigger picture here and goal of a THB, but any significant (not talking tens of dollars, we are talking hundreds of dollars) savings is important to me.  My response was totally passive aggressive.  "I guess i'll go with the first and the second pharmacies" (I'm sure i'll get another email asking for more details, my original email was broken out into clear 3 separate lines with fax numbers and which medication goes where.) . whatever.  I'm hoping today and tomorrow go quickly so i can be a lazy bum this weekend.
  • @blackhottamales - Put absolutely perfectly re: low expectations. Are you about to start an ER or are you moving towards your FET? What meds are you getting (if you don't mind me asking)? 100% of my journey has been out of pocket, so I have used about 5 different pharmacies to get the meds I have needed over the course of it all ... I'm not about to spend money where I don't need to!

@dreamunoz Lovin the libra love too and WOW that's insane you had your ovaries removed while you were pregnant! You and your son are true miracles

@leilee101 UGH I’m sorry doll!! You stay right here with us! I feel Like you’ll be pleasantly surprised with your next one... those numbers have to drop to zero, even if I have To come over there and shake it out of you lol. If anyone is familiar with the delays and  things not going the way you want them it’s ME! I am a PM away darlin! You’ll get there. When is the next blood draw? Did they say why it’s taking so long??

@MamaK225 No advice here about not testing.. I’m sure I’ll start testing  around 6-7dp5dt and just hope I can Distract myself some home till then. Good luck!
  • @blackhottamales ugh totally get wanting to save money ANYWHERE you can!! You never know when surprise costs are going to pop up and cost us even more money, so it is very important to be financially cautious in my opinion. I would be irritated too with their response and lack of info sharing from the beginning!!

@leilee101 ugh that's so frustrating, I'm sorry! :( you're getting closer and closer each week though ❤️ I agree with @babydust2507, I would totally join you in a November FET board :) mine may not even be until very beginning of November, and either way I definitely won't have an answer until November!
  • @ndz2018 "sometimes it just takes a while".... thanks Doc. I went to acupuncture this weekend to see if that would help but she told me to come back twice per week for it to have any sort of impact and I just can't afford that (money and time wise). My next draw is not even going to be until the week after next, it just doesn't make sense to keep going in for tests if we know the trend it's on. It's just too draining for me emotionally

@babydust2507 I actually lurked on the September FET and remember seeing you super bummed because you got kicked back a month and you felt alone - but look what you started here with this October FET so maybe I will do that.

@MamaK225 I always test. I'm so weak lol, I have no advice on how not to...

Thanks for all the support guys, only a couple people IRL know what's going on with us so I really appreciate having these little boards to vent. It's weird, I didn't mind sharing that we miscarried with people close to me, coworkers etc, but the infertility/IVF aspect of all of this is so isolating.
