@ibanezstarburst I’ve been a hormonal mess lately too. It’s so so bad I also toss and turn all night and have a hard time getting comfortable.
I’ve been thinking about getting a pregnancy pillow, but can’t decide if it’s worth the money for a good one or not. Anyone have one they love?
1000000% worth it. I got one second hand my last pregnancy and I am not sure when I will bust it out this time. Leachco back and belly. We called it my human dog bed.
TMI but is anyone else getting stomach aches and just pooping a ton this pregnancy? This is getting ridiculous.
Me! But I have IBS w/ D to begin with so that shit (pun intended) ain't new.
I'm not sure how I missed this thread, but never noticed it until today. Still getting used to TB. I wish i had read this b4 yesterday. Major issues!! I don't wanna say TMI, but a walk with my dog turned into a major hurry for me to make it home.
Anyways, all day yesterday my stomach was irritable, had to break from my healthy eating to eat a bunch of crackers and ginger ale to feel better.
Other than that, fatigue sore boobs, and heightened sense of smell.
I broke out my snoogle already too! I waited until after our second ultrasound earlier this week! But dang that first night with the snoogle was heaven. Now I’m having insomnia and instead of sleeping I’m just cuddling my snoogle.

@msb615 we also have a queen size bed. Currently it’s me, snoogle, 2 year old, hubby. We are getting cramped. But, without the 2 year old in bed, it would be fine. We cosleep every night though so we might need to get a bigger bed!

I love the squatty potty @poshspice!!!! You need it if you’re having issues going. But, I will say that now I have a hard time going without it. I’ve always had trouble pooping though. My husband poops after every meal whereas I’m like every 3 days. Even worse with pregnancy.
There are two different sizes so make sure you know which size you need for your toilet.

Hello all! First post here. I'm 6 + 3 with my first. I had heartburn during week 4. Diarrhea during week 5. This week has been a bit bizarre - one night of vomiting, lots of insomnia, waking up in the night super hungry. And peeing all the time! My boobs are sore in the mornings and ease during the day. Sense of smell has kicked up this week too. Overall feeling relatively normal though. I can definitely feel that my hormones are changing and going nuts! Glad to read that I'm not the only one feeling this way.
@DuchessOfCambridge Yes!! Almost every night at 1am during my 5th week I was up and on the toilet with diarrhea. Then I was fine until the next night. I'm almost week 7 and it seems to have subsided but it was the weirdest thing!
Omg I’m so happy to see i wasn’t the only one that felt completely normal during week 4 and 5 but had diarrhea every morning. Today marks week 6 and now i wake up starving, which there isn’t anything next to my bedside to eat, so it causes me to be a little nauseous. Sleeping through the night is a no go. But all in all i still feel like my normal self. Trynna embrace feeling normal because i know with my 4 year old i threw up all day every day from 4 week until i Was on the labor and delivery table. It sucked. I told myself i wasn’t having anymore kids because how sick i was with her. But here i am 4 years later. Just praying for a smooth pregnancy!’
Insomnia and fatigue started almost immediately for me. I wake up at 4:30 every day and can't go back to sleep. This started about 3 days before BFP. I can't seem to make myself fall asleep any earlier though, so naps are my best bet, but on weekdays that's not an option. The worst new symptom is the nausea. I can keep it at bay during the day as long as I have a LOT of healthy snacks and make sure there's always something in my stomach - But the mornings are the worst and I can't seem to force myself to get any food down until the nausea passes.
@msb615 first night with my pregnancy pillow last night. I had some pretty bad insomnia but my lower back and hips feel amazing today! ill post the link. I got the white pillow because it was the cheapest. Haha!
@DuchessOfCambridge I ordered your pillow last night! It was too good of a deal to pass up. It should be here Saturday, and I’m so excited! Thank you for the link!
@ibanezstarburst I was wondering if people had a preference over the U or C shape! Glad I went with the C shape because we don’t have much room between me, husband, cat, and the 2 year old!
@LifeofLauren2 I told my husband the same thing about needing a bigger bed just the other day! Haha Good to know everyone (including snoogle!) can fit since we have a queen been also and a 2 year old that keeps waking up at night this week. 😬 Hope your insomnia gets better/goes away soon!
@mrskoz428 Glad to hear your lower back and hips feel better because lately I feel like I wake up sore and with a slight headache from not sleeping good. It’s almost like a hangover without the fun night. I just ordered a pillow last night, so I’m really hoping I’ll wake up feeling better than I have been this week!
I’m 6+2 and the morning sickness has hit hard. I had a little bit a week ago but today it’s been all day. Thankfully I have tomorrow off and due to construction at work they told me to go home early since I wasn’t feeling so great. I’m hoping it gets better but I’m sick of throwing up in the car. However I was in a car accident last week so I’m also happy to have symptoms, it reassures me.
Oof. Today I continued my beloved pregnancy tradition of puking in parking lots 😖
I was out to dinner with my coworkers between our afternoon and evening parent/teacher conferences, and we were leaving the restaurant and I wasn't feeling great, but I thought if I could get the AC going on my face I'd be okay, so I started driving and telling myself "you're gonna make it, you're gonna make it" and I got about 10 parking spaces away when I realized I was NOT gonna make it. Pulled over, opened the door, and out came dinner.
I hope my coworkers didn't see, but I'm not about to bring it up like... sooo... did you see me vomit in the parki g lot?
Best part? Washing vomit out of the end of my ponytail in the staff bathroom before going to conferences. I seriously considered just cutting it off.
I worked out this morning and it was so difficult. I'm only 4+3, isn't it early for that?! I work out pretty consistently so I've gotten into a good stride with running and resistance "weight" (I use a resistance band) but today I was struggling so hard! I got out of breath so quickly and my muscles got tired way faster than normal. I'm wondering if it's all in my head though because really, I feel like it's too early for me to actually be struggling due to pregnancy.
Yes to restless legs... Mostly the right one feels like the circulation isn't great anymore. Been trying legs up the wall which helps. Thankfully it hasn't been bad when I'm sleeping yet - I promise that's when the insomnia will hit me! Cannot stand restless legs when trying to sleep 😤

I'm pretty sure that when you are pregnant, your resting heart rate goes up, so even though you don't have a full baby or a big belly yet, your body is working harder than usual all the time, and even more so when you are exerting yourself. I definitely think I have been much more easily winded early on in pregnancy.
So real talk since no one is bringing it up.. is anyone else having little to no sex drive lately? Its not that I’ve been sick or super exhausted (maybe more tired than usual), but it’s just really not at the top of my priority list. I’d rather just eat and scroll through the bump, but I’m starting to feel kind of bad about it. I’ve also been pretty irritable toward him lately. These hormones are seriously turning me into such a hormonal B (yes capital b). 😬

@DuchessOfCambridge maybe that’s my problem. He probably feels like I just used him for sex until I got pregnant, and now I’m like, see ya, bye! 😂. ETA: I haven’t noticed much difference with exercising, but I just speed walk on the treadmill. I don’t run unless someone is chasing me haha I literally hate running though.
Ugh, I'm still not nauseated yet (7+2), but the gagging! I can constantly feel it in the back of my throat. So irritating. I'm assuming it means the puking is going to start soon, which I am super not looking forward to.
Anyone experiencing vision changes or dizziness yet? I have to get out of bed slowly now in the morning, otherwise I'll get dizzy. Also if I have low blood sugar, have been standing or doing manual labor (like yard work) for too long, my eyes start drifting to the right and I have to lie or sit down and rest my eyes. I've read that some of these are normal, but the preeclampsia symptoms I read about stress me out... First doc appt Oct 1st. I'm 5w+5d.
@lsm7201 I have low blood pressure in the beginning of pregnancy. If you google it the symptoms are essentially the same as high which is confusing, so try not to stress to much about preeclampsia. but definitely bring it up to your doctor, or even call if the symptoms get worse or you feel like it will ease your stress.
@lsm7201 agreed, bring it up to your dr. Don't stress too much about preeclampsia yet. I actually got (very very mild) preeclampsia while I was delivering my first, so this pregnancy I'll take baby aspirin but we're not starting that until around 16 weeks I think.

I think that's super normal for first tri. I've been super irritable towards everyone and DH has been rounding the kids up and just steering clear, lol. This isn't our first rodeo and I think he knows that it will get better soon so I'm not too worried about hurting his feelings (with both the bitchiness and the no sex).
@DuchessOfCambridge the surge of hormones in early pregnancy often causes breathlessness. It might get better for a while and then come back later on, but as I'm sure you know, every pregnancy is different and its never a guarantee.
@DuchessOfCambridge@lsm7201 I ended up delivering 5 weeks early due to severe sudden pre-eclampsia last pregnancy. I would definitely bring the symptoms up to your doctor. They have me on baby aspirin like Duchess mentioned. But, don't stress too much - pre-e doesn't typically crop up until later on in your pregnancy. I'm sure everything is just fine and it's either a low blood sugar thing or your body adjusting pregnancy. It's good you are already aware of the signs to look for.
@msb615 ZERO sex drive here. We haven't had sex since we conceived last month. Poor hubs... I also had very low sex drive while nursing for 13+ months...then we had a 2 week window where I was feelin' in. Now - pregnant. I remember my drive coming back during 2nd tri though. Don't worry!
Anyone else's nausea come and go? I was really hurting on Monday and as the week went on, I started feeling a lot better. I still have the little signs that tell me I'm good (sore boobs, discharge, cramps), so I'm trying not to go down a dark hole here. With DD I don't remember the nausea ever really leaving until I hit the 2nd trimester. I'm 7 weeks today.

@peachy13 I have not been nauseous today either a first - I actually woke up and wanted scrambled eggs which has been a huge food aversion. It made me really nervous too but I’m still exhausted, sore boobs etc. I think it comes and goes tomorrow you may feel nauseous again.
@mcewen3 This makes me feel much better. I don’t feel like I was this way when I was pregnant with DS, but this past week, I’ve even gotten on my own nerves for being so bitchy to him. Hopefully hormones start evening out at some point bc 2nd tri is still quite a ways away!
@secicc12 Glad to know it’s not just me. We only have a few times since conceiving which is a complete 180 from when we were trying to get pregnant. At least he’s been a good sport about it.
@jessica41879 thanks and I believe you're right! So funny too about eggs. Usually they make me gag when I'm pregnant but today I just wanted a straight up fried egg sandwich in the worst way.

@msb615 my sex drive has definitely been lower since getting my BFP. We've had sex a few times, but pretty much only once a week which is lower than normal. I think he's also on my nerves more which may be contributing, but mine is definitely driven by the fatigue most.
H came into the bathroom the second I puked in the sink while brushing my teeth and the look on his face was so priceless. Shock, disgust, sympathy, so many emotions in one lol. I've also gained 5 lbs since getting pregnant which really bums me out. I haven't been eating particularly terrible food, but eating to keep the nausea away is definitely packing it on. I'm really hoping I don't feel as hungry/nauseated in 2nd tri so I can try to control the weight gain better. Last time I didn't gain any weight until I was like 15 weeks because I was so sick. This pregnancy is throwing me for a loop in totally different ways!

So I'm 3 weeks 5 days today and I'm already getting some pretty gnarly nausea. I didn't have nausea with my first pregnancy! The protein cravings are here already, too. I wake up wanting bacon and eggs first thing in the morning and then I want steak the rest of the day. I can only eat so much steak though. I'm gonna have to find some protein snacks to keep in my desk.
It's funny, most women want carbs in pregnancy and I just want meat. Smothered in cheese sauce. Topped with bacon.

@msb615 I use a snoogle and really like it so far! I used more of the horseshoe shaped one last time and hated it. It took up the whole bed.
