  • +1 for reflux.  I'm over it.  It makes sleep impossible some nights.

@hkom how awful.  I'm glad you at least have 1 position that's comfortable, though. And thank goodness you got some meds that seem to be keeping contractions at bay.  Fingers crossed for your US tomorrow!
  • @orangecrush29 ugh, I hate that feeling! I found that if that starts to happen, if I get on my hands and knees it let's baby fall out of my chest cavity, lol. Obvs that doesn't work if I'm at the grocery store, but I'll do it if I'm at home!

  • Reflux starting to get more serious. Makes going to bed less of a wonderful crash and more of a scuttlebutt pillow affair. Ive been propping myself up like a right queen.
Have been just exhausted the last two days even though I’ve been getting the same amount of sleep etc. anyone else having these wild energy highs and lows?
  • @hkom Crossing my fingers for you for a good ultrasound and that you get to go home soon!

@orangecrush29 Ugh, that sounds miserable. Makes baby on my bladder every day not sound so bad!

I've been dealing with something new recently and I hope there are others that can relate. My left leg has had some on and off pain the past week. What's weird to me is that it's not in just one spot where it will suddenly feel sore. When I was dealing with it earlier this week, I thought it was because I did a lot of walking the day before, so my calf was just sore from it. Then it went away and a few days later, it felt a little sore again. I've had some leg and foot tingling, along with the feeling like my skin burning as if I had sun burn, but it's not warm to the touch. I was starting to think it was sciatica pain, but I'm not so sure anymore.
  • @hkom I am crossing my fingers for you so hard today.  Do you know when your ultrasound is??
  • @orangecrush29 +1 for not being able to breathe. This weekend I tried to lie down on the couch on my back, and felt like my lungs were being crushed..

  • @omnommer That sounds awful. I hope your massage is able to help.

  • @ab_canada Thanks! I hope so too. I usually get regular massage because of a history with headaches, and this time it's been triple the time since I normally would have had one due to summer plans for myself and for my massage therapist... I'm surprised I haven't had any headaches, but I know that all these arm things are related to that neck/shoulder tension.

  • @omnommer I've been getting knots in my neck periodically (causing pretty bad headaches sometimes) because I can't find a pillow that works for me. TBH, the only thing that helped release it was taking an Advil Muscle & Joint, which is unfortunate for pregnancy.. Luckily, the snoogle has been the perfect pillow for me, so I haven't had that problem for a while.

  • @hkom Hope all goes well with your ultrasound today! Keep us posted.

@omnommer Ooof that sounds terrible!! At least you know what you need to avoid from now on...Is it just cabbage that triggers this for you? Or are there other foods? Hope you're all better from now on IBS-wise...

@mcgeeva Sorry about your swim troubles! What did the pains feel like? Sharp? I'd be surprised if swimming caused it since being in water usually relieves any pressure. I've been swimming somewhat regularly and it's the only exercise that doesn't bother me at this point...hope your pains were just a fluke and next time you feel great.

@orangecrush29 that almost panic attack sounds SO frightening! I hope your gives you a break soon and you can breathe deeply again.

AFM, I've been having sharp pains on both sides of the top of my pelvic bone...has anyone else felt this? I usually feel it when I'm walking or moving somewhat quickly...it's pretty high up and feels like it's the on the bone itself. I'm sure it's nothing serious, just annoying. Like most pregnancy symptoms! But I might call my doctor just to make sure...

Sort of sounds like round ligament pain.. Although I don't think I would describe it as being "on the bone", so maybe not.. Could also be just tight hips - try runner's lunge for stretching:

  • @ab_canada I don't think it is round ligament, because I'm 95% sure I've felt that/know what that's like (usually I feel that when I'm laying down in bed, and then have a big sneeze/cough and it's sharp pain, but almost in my crotch area? I thought that was round ligament?) Anyway, this feels like sharp pain on my pelvic bone much higher than where I think I've had round ligament before...but who knows. I'm gonna message my doctor and see what she thinks.
  • @shevsky Yes, only cabbage! Haha. And only during pregnancy apparently. Certain foods historically make me gassy (cabbage included), but none of the others had this reaction.

Also, definitely call your doc just to make sure. That's what they are there for! But it could just be round ligament pain, but I usually feel them just on one side at a time. The other option could be that your ligaments and bones are relaxing already and shifting. Stretching should help, but be careful of not overstretching the pelvic region. :)

  • @shevsky Could still be round ligament pain. Here is a description from webmd:
    • "The round ligament connects the front part of the womb to your groin, the area where your legs attach to your pelvis. The round ligament normally tightens and relaxes slowly."
@omnommer good call on not over-stretching. I forget that it's a risk during pregnancy.

  • @hkom Good luck with your u/s!
@whitneyb89 If I walk or stand too much, especially without supportive shoes, my thigh gets tingly and numb, too. Last pregnancy, my OB attributed it to the extra weight pressing on my nerves.
  • @hkom I'm sorry about the continued contractions. I can't imagine. I don't know what they feel like but I'm sure it's miserable. I'm glad they gave you some meds to help ease the discomfort and really hoping they keep you on them!

@PensiveCrayon I agree about liking the kicking! I honestly am hoping every day that he kicks more or probably honestly that I'm just able to feel it more. It's so reassuring!

@whit789 I was feeling miserably exhuasted so I finally gave in and drank coffee for the first time since February. I made a k cup and had about 3 quarters of it and it made me feel so incredibly glorious!

@morgantu It seems crazy to me that there are still 3 months left! I totally feel ya on that!

My big symptoms for this week are SWELLING! My feet are freaking huge as of Saturday. I can't really fit in any shoes comfortably except for flip flops and had to wear my husband's socks yesterday. I'm only 26 weeks, 5 days.

Also my right hand is so swollen, painful, and crampy that I can't write normally. It's so weird.
  • Hi, everyone. I've been feeling sooooooooo tired recently. It's reassuring to read that others are feeling it, too. Second trimester was so wonderful -- I had so much energy!! Now that I'm entering the third, I'm starting to notice how taxing the extra weight is on my buddy.  Usually, exercise helps with the fatigue, but I think I've been over-doing it because I'm finding myself completely dead.

For back pain and hip pain, walking and prenatal yoga have been really helpful to me.

    Hang in there, mamas!!
  • **body** not "buddy" haha
  • @maureenmce I read somewhere that the movement is most intense weeks 24-28 since he will start to run out of room soon, so hopefully they don’t become too uncomfortable!

@mamajudec2018 That could be pregnancy induced carpel tunnel. It’s a b. Did your doctor check your fluid yet?
  • @mamajudec2018 any update on the numbness you had on your face? Sorry you're dealing with swelling now!! I did notice my feet seemed to be a little swollen the other day, but not too bad yet.

@maureenmce I keep trying to remember how much I was feeling DS at this point. With him I had an anterior placenta though and didn't feel anything until 22 weeks, so I'm thinking I'm definitely feeling more this time around. But yes, they've definitely been getting stronger lately!! I'm not really looking forward to the butt and feet in my ribcage though lol.
    DS1 born 2/28/16
    DS2 due 12/12/18

  • Add me to the list @maureenmce. This baby is getting strong and likes practicing his punches and kicks. I don’t mind them so much when they are aimed outward, because it’s sort of fun to watch and I have nothing going on all day anyway. But every once in a while he aims inward and downward. Which basically just feels like a shock to my crotch.
