FFC (if I save this for tomorrow I'll forget). I'm leaving work, it's 5pm, and I just realized I never put on deodorant this morning. And I am definitely not one of those people who can go without...but I'm hoping that since I only just noticed that means no one else noticed either. Stupid baby brain!
@CecilB93 I did that last week, I’m pretty sure I made it through the day okay, but then again, I don’t think anyone would say anything either.
I scheduled our hospital tour and registered all of the kids for their sibling class. Because pregnancy brain, I registered them all for the wrong age class and had to call and have them transferred to the right class, but we are all set now.
DH also started on the nursery! The carpet has been pulled up and I think painting is starting soon. Things are getting real.
Ugh I was rear ended today. The car is fine, and doing kick counts I just got 20 kicks in 16 minutes, so I’m sure my little guy is fine but damn seriously? My car was totaled last September in an accident very similar to this one. If I could just stop being hit, that would be super.
In other news, my daughter drew a picture of me at school today. /ded
@runrinserepeat so sorry to hear about your accident. Super glad lo is still partying, but I'm sure it's nerve wracking. Are you ok physically too? Hopefully you don't have any soreness or anything tomorrow. Also, you must be a very lovely lady to get a pic like that. I love the dress!
@lippy625@morgantu Yay! I can't wait! It seems far away but it'll be here before we know it! My invites went out this past Saturday so that's why I was so surprised 4 things were already purchased off the registry!
@scaredunprepared I'm the same way! Before we even registered I made lists on both Target and buy buy baby of everything I wanted and then had my husband print the lists so we had pictures in the store. Since we registered I've switched out a number of things and added things. Some stuff it was smart to switch out but also it's like I just spend way too much researching baby stuff and looking at my registry haha!
@runrinserepeat I'm so sorry about your accident, and so glad everyone is safe!
I'm living vicariously through the baby showers here and the registry stalking. I was the worst offender with my showers! People have asked if I'm having one this time and just no. It's only been two years and I would feel so awkward if someone threw me a shower this time around. I created a registry just for the discount, but there really isn't much on it... we don't neeeed anything! Which kinda makes me sad because I want to shop! FWP.
As for the question about throwing yourself a shower, I wouldn't and agree it sounds gift grabby, but I don't think my friends would side eye if I did. I feel awkward about that kind of stuff though. If anything maybe a sip and see, but even still, if it were me, I'd make a point of saying something like "your presence is present enough" or just "No gifts". Again, I'd just feel so awkward.
@westcoastfoodie I’m with you completely! On one hand, I’m glad we do not need to spend too much this time and that if baby comes early we have everything. But, I enjoyed researching products and designing the nursery last time and I kind of miss it!
I’m feeling the opposite on not needing to buy anything or have a registry. I’m sooo glad all that is over with and I have all of my stuff from last time. I found it quite stressful and I always worry I’m forgetting something major. I’m glad I can relax knowing I have everything I need! Also I hate being the center of attention and I am thrilled that showers of all kinds are behind me.
@Jens_Hoes I'm pretty sure all you have to do is start something like Unpopular Opinions and watch the points rack up. I have no other explanation for this ish.
You guys!!! Just ordered my crib and dresser set!!! I’m really excited and it’s getting me super stoked for baby girl’s arrival!!! I freakin love her so much already, I can’t wait to see her!!!
Hormonal AF this morning because that just made me well up bad, @countrygirl624. Yay!!! @runrinserepeat DD's picture started my tearing up. Glad you're okay from the rear-ending.
I noticed the leader board last night and was impressed that it's all D18 ladies. Way to represent, y'all haha!
Just getting caught up on this thread and responding with shower thoughts. I feel super uncomfortable with the idea of having a shower. I am totally fine attending other peoples', but asking people to give me stuff and opening it in front of them does not sound at all fun to me. My mom is throwing us a "baby is coming" co-ed party at the end of the month and we decided not to share registry info on the invite. It's basically just for family since my husband and I do not live close to our families and don't have many friends near that area. I have a registry set up on Encore (second hand baby registry site) that I've been using to keep track of the stuff we are getting ourselves, and she can share it if anyone asks, but honestly the whole thing is just kind of stressful for me. I almost wish I hadn't said yes, especially since we will have to drive 5 hours each way to get to my parents' place.
@kadeephd I'm so slow this morning. I read the first two sentences you wrote as was all, "so... she just takes baths? I wonder why the shower makes her so uncomfortable?" OMG WAKE UP, SELF.
So I have a bit of inside insight on the leader boards: the S18 BMB recently moved to a private forum, which is why (I believe) we’re all on top. We’re pretty much the best anyway

@runrinserepeat Haha! I was just stalking other boards and I forget which month but there is a post that got dirty deleted I guess complaining that no one was throwing her a shower. The first commenter said something like, “Wow, you still need another adult to help you have a shower? Maybe you should try taking a bath.” And I thought man that was really mean, maybe she has a disability! Lol a little slow on the uptake over here too.
Re: STM Showers I love the idea of a sprinkle and am so grateful a few of my friends are having one for me. I didn’t expect it and it will be very small, hopefully around ten of my closest friends. I think the only thing that made me apprehensive about having one to begin with is these same girls help my mom throw a giant shower three years ago. I know how fast a little get together can add up. They explained it to me as it will be more of a girls day, catching up, relaxing and they insist I will need boy clothes, not just DD’s gender neutral hand me downs.
I have never ever thought of a shower being gift grabby. I have thrown plenty and I have done it because I wanted to and I never feel obligated to attend people showers just because I am invited (I don’t find showers to be super fun but once I am there some girl time and a nice lunch isn’t a bad thing!). If I can’t attend I don’t always send a gift either:/
@Jens_Hoes I wanted a show and tell shower three years ago but my mom voided it and since she was throwing the shower I didn’t care enough to argue! I have only been to one show and tell and I loved it. It was at night, cocktail style and the bride greeted everyone at the display tables. She was able to look over the gift and thank everyone individually!! The other guest could cruise by the tables and admire if they wanted too but no fuse and very personal!! When the line was long, ladies would just hit up the bar and h’dourves before heading over!
@runrinserepeat I had to work hard to hold in a laugh at work when I read your comment and then went back and read the post the way you were reading it.
@Jens_Hoes This board has been crazy this week! @countrygirl624 Very Cute! @runrinserepeat Haha! @rosebud332 I LOLd at that other post, too. She seemed pretty needy, though. @kadeephd I hope you will feel comfortable at the party since it’s all family there to celebrate baby!
@jens_hoes I just read that thread and I agree people were pretty harsh. I have been to showers where everyone (if they chose) brought diapers or wipes and were entered to win a $25 gift card. I think that is a good idea, but I don’t get her whole the prize is you announce the gender thing. Would anyone other than the grandparents and parents care they much to be the one to announce it?
@runrinserepeat omg I can't believe you got rear-ended this week too! I'm glad you and baby are ok! Are you going to get monitored and get an ultrasound to check in on baby? It is so reassuring to feel them moving around in there, but still scary. I think I probably would have elected to get an US done if I didn't already have one scheduled for the next day. Your daughter is adorable to draw that, and talented!
@Jens_Hoes January is a weird bunch. I actually just lurker commented on it with some actual advice, because my SIL did her wedding shower in very much the same way (minus the gender reveal, obviously).
@scaredunprepared didn't I say that was one of my worst fears!? Seriously!
At this point, I'm not planning to get monitored. Though I was definitely shaken, especially after my car was totaled in the same way less than a year ago, this time was not very serious. There's no damage to my car. Both kids are fine. I sat down to do kick counts last night, and felt at least 25 in the first 20 minutes (though it was probably closer to 30-35, if I were to count the little ones). My doctor had talked to me about kick counts last week and she wants 10 in 2 hours, so I think he's probably fine in there.
@runrinserepeat I'm so glad it was nothing serious this time, and everyone is ok! Crazy that it happened to you (again!), but thank goodness it was nothing like last time.
@runrinserepeat Ha that way of reading my comment did not occur to me, though totally makes sense rereading it. Glad you and baby are fine after your accident, though it still sucks to deal with that.
@Jens_Hoes I think I'll be fine once it is actually happening, but thinking about it right now still makes me a little anxious.

I'm sorry about your accident. I'm terrified of car accidents even when I'm not pregnant.
@runrinserepeat I’m so sorry about your accident! I’m glad you and LO are ok, but you certainly do not need that stress!

Also where’s the leader board? Is it only accessible on the website? I’m only ever on the app - I’m such a noob.

This was sort of an interesting read on January BMB. Although she is a knottie and didn't introduce herself, I do think her question was valid, and they were kind of harsh on her.
