What are ya'll doing for Halloween? DH won't be home so I don't know how overboard I want to go, but now that DS will be able to go for a bit, I'd like to dress us both up a little, but not spend a million dollars. Sounds reasonable, ya?
@temmetime My son is sooooo excited for halloween this year for some reason. He keeps asking me if it's trick or treat time. We aren't big halloween people, but for some reason he is! I guess it's up to the 3 year old, lol! I bought a shirt with a t-rex skeleton on the tummy. That's as far out as i'm going. I saw one couples one where the pregnant gal was a nun and the guy was a priest. That's probably my favorite, lol
@temmetime All we usually do is carve a few pumpkins, decorate the front porch, dress up the dog, and hand out candy while wrapped up in a blanket. It's of course up in the air this year, but I really hope we are able to do it because I love Halloween and we always get lots of cute kids in our neighborhood.
@temmetime We'll probably have a bowl of candy for trick or treaters. I expect there will be a party to attend at a friend's house the weekend before. I think I want to be an avocado. Like this image I found on Google:
1) Yesssss nitro coffee. Whiiiich I just typed out as "nitrous coffee" because we're talking about nitrous oxide on the med-free thread, hahaha. But yeah, yum. I don't love black coffee (I try though!) but the creamy head makes it so tasty.
2) Re: weekly leaders guys this board has been SO ACTIVE TODAY I can barely keep up! So I'm sure that helps. But also, maybe BusinessWife finally had her baby I know she's in the same BMB as a friend who is expecting any day now, so it's actually possible.
3) Halloween: the Bub and I will be going to the in-law's in KC. Apparently BIL is excited to take him around! (H will be out of the country at this point, so I'm glad to have somewhere to go.) I've had our outfits planned for ages: I'll be Violet Beauregard and my son will be an Oompa Loompa dragging me around!

Nitro coffee sounds amazing!! How have I not heard of this? Beer on the nitro is my faaaave so getting nitro coffee sounds like a pretty good pregnant treat.
So we finally picked out a crib and dresser set!! Think we’re going to order it Thursday!! The guy said it could be 10-14 weeks to come in which immediately sent me into panic mode as the realization of how much time til baby is here got insanely real. Dah!!! Even if it comes late my Aunt is giving me a bassinet so we’ll be okay for awhile. Also paying for delivery and setup even though hubby is super handy because it was only $120 more and this dresser is massive and has sweet lights in the top two drawers plus an adjustable night light under the dresser itself in a cool design. It’s Milk Street - any one heard of that company before?
@temmetime DS keeps saying he wants to be a mail man, which is feat he was last year. I feel like I should talk him into something else, but the cheap part of me is like let’s just go with it. @omnommer I love the avocado!
@temmetime I’m doing a group costume with DD and her cousins. DD and the other two young ones will be fairies, then the other two will be sleeping beauty and maleficent
@texas_t We go to Summer Moon when we visit my brother and SIL in Austin! So good!!! As for podcast that haven't been mentioned, I love How I Built This, The Moth, StoryCorps and (if you're into this kind of thing) The Hardcore Self Help Podcast. I know the last one may not be everyone's cup of tea, but on occasion it's a good listen. I also second The Daily Zeitgeist for current events, but I may be biased on that one because one of the hosts is like a brother to me. I'd still like it either way though!
I've really been struggling emotionally lately, feeling like nothing is ever good enough. I hate my job and I'm counting down to maternity leave. DH gave me a pretty good pep talk this morning though after I had a full on meltdown and anxiety attack. So I just gotta keep my chin up and keep trucking, two more months. Part of my issue is that I feel like I don't do enough around the house (my own insecurity, never anything DH points out) and then I get down on myself, so I've broken up the rooms into days. Today I cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms...small successes!
@LLynde5 I'm not going to lie, I love the Polar Express! It's one of my Christmas movie musts every year.
@morgantu Way to go on taking four classes! We are just doing infant care and breast feeding. My career used to be that I was a nanny though so one would hope that I know what I'm doing haha!
My hubby finished our last big piece of nursery furniture this weekend! It looks like a real room! Which is amazing but also makes me want baby here even more than I already did which is hard to believe that I could want him here more!
I don't know how I missed a whole page of randoms lol... I have NO IDEA what we'll be for halloween, or even what DS will be. Last year was so exhausting the thought of trick or treating this year at 8 months pregnant sounds overwhelming. We were invited to a halloween party though so I feel like I need to think of something good.
Ok i have 2 randoms for today: It was Like 90° (again) and I was walking all over campus in a skirt and my poor thick thighs are buuurning. #chubrubproblems

Omg I spill on my shirt so much while pregnant. Was thinking today that it’s probably just that I’m sitting further away from the table because of the belly? So the food travels on the fork or spoon farther, and thus has more opportunity for spilling? Whatever I’ll embrace being a hot mess. It’s my life now, fighting it would be futile.

Thank you @katy0990 I really am my own worst critic and this pregnancy has made me suuuuuper emotional. You're right, I need to remember there's a lot going on physically and mentally right now and be gentler on myself.

I'm definitely a yes to any and all KC meetups! There will be plenty of opportunities...we go out there quite a bit, as H's brother and SIL as well as his parents live in Overland Park.

Anyone else's LO using their uterus as a punching bag? It feels like extremely quick movements but too strong to be anything but kicks or punches.. I've googled it and it does seem fairly common (which is good because the first time it happened, I thought the baby was having a seizure).
@ab_canada I literally described that exact same feeling to my Mom last week!! I’ve felt it twice so far where baby feels like she’s having a seizure. I was thinking maybe hiccups but not sure. Cause the other day I felt a repetitive feeling that was probably hiccups. Not sure what the convulsing sensation is.
@ab_canada yes! I often feel what feels like little tremors coming from baby and I don't remember it with DS, but I figure it's fine. Regarding uterus being a punching bag, not here. However, he likes to use my bladder and/or cervix as a punching bag, so that's super fun

When I started reading this post I thought- yes my little one (2 year old) keeps hitting my belly (like a drum), running full speed at me, and jumping on me. Then I realized that we wasnt the topic. My littlest inside keeps moving all around too
