  • I saw the (.)(.) thread & it got me curious, lol. Just wanted to know other STM+ experience :)
  • @mommythlegend As a FTM my boobs didn't change much and I didn't produce much; seems to be following the same pattern this go around....  If you successfully BFd before, I'd be less concerned!

    *Rainbow 8/2015*
    *Expected Rainbows 12/2018*
    *Loss of Twin 5/2018*

  • @CecilB93 I had a hard time choosing, too. I feel like I have different aspects of several, depending on the situation.
@mommythlegend It could be scaitica. I have been having scaitic pain, too. I have gone from a “flatter” 36DDD to a much fuller 38DDD. It’s so odd because my cup size hasn’t changed, but they are heavier. I have also had some discharge from both.
  • I wish the app made it easier to respond to peoples’ posts (or that I knew how to use it better).  I completely agree about not fitting into a category (how can career Mom be a category?). I’m one of many zen-perfect-too much phone-some career (without too much superiority about it)- and now, exhausted.

Nails - wish i could think of any. 3 year old started nursery school today and I had to make her lunch, which I’ve been dreading. Gotta say, it’s pretty Pinterest-worthy, but I feel crushed under the weight of having to do it every day from now until forever.

Fails - took her for frozen yogurt afte school shopping on Saturday. While I was talking to the woman at the counter about buying a cake (for myself, for my birthday), daughter takes a cake out of the freezer and drops it onto floor. I ran over and asked why she did that and she proceeds to talk to me like a Minion. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so angry or frustrated. Also, I am absolutely huge. I shouldn’t have done it but google image searched 27 week bellies the other day. Every one that looked like mine was of a woman pregnant with twins.
  • @mommythlegend I was a B cup, pre-DD. Stayed the same during pregnancy and after. Right now, my bands are a little tighter and my cups a little fuller.. but I don't expect much else other than the future in-between-pumps fullness. I'd always hoped that I'd gain another cup when I had kids. :p
With DD, I was worried I wasn't going to produce well because of the lack of boobie changes but it def wasn't the case! I nursed til... 17/18 months (only once a day toward the end), and donated ~500 oz of BM when she was about 9 months old.
  • @nawmin That would make me so frustrated about the cake! Try not to compare your belly to others. We all carry differently and that is okay!
@hoosiermama-2 That is awesome that you were able to donate so much.
  • @Jens_Hoes Thank you for the suggestions! I try to tell him it hurts our feelings when he hits or bites and it also hurts. I also ask if he'd like for someone to do that to him. I'm not sure he cares at this point. I may also keep something on hand that he can hit/bite.. that's great!

@CecilB93 Aww. I hope something works soon. Maybe make the cake and tell him it's all for him if he poops on the potty!

@westcoastfoodie Parenting is definitely hard. I agree with your decision to have him assessed. Because of an injury, my son has been in therapy since he was little. I think it has really helped him a lot.

@temmetime I am just waiting on a call or message from DS's daycare saying he's hit or bit someone. Ugh

@mommythlegend At first my boobs weren't even sore, then they got sore. They didn't really get bigger in the beginning like they did with DS so I didn't think they would, but I think within the last month or so they've definitely gotten bigger, so maybe it's just taking longer this go round.

@nawmin Oh no! Did they make you pay for the cake too?

  • Sorry if this has been asked before - are any of y'all taking classes?

We did a lot last time and I loved it, as a FTM with 0 baby experience. I feel like I'm good this time around and DH would probably cry if I told him we were taking classes......... but I'm an information overload type. Maybe doing a hospital tour will fulfill my itch. We're delivering at the same place, but things change, right?! :D
  • @hoosiermama-2 I'm taking a pregnancy/birth class led by my doulas. It's all review, but it's reminding me of stuff I've forgotten, like how crappy labor is (really, how is it possible to forget? so odd) and allllll of the fun stuff that comes with postpartum, like night sweats, engorged boobs, plugged ducts, HORMONES. Etc. I'm also an info overload-type person, but I don't feel like I need instruction on how to take care of a newborn or breastfeed.

@hoosiermama-2 We are not, but I’m rereading my notes and books from last time. I just don’t know that it’s worth getting a sitter for, but if it will help you feel prepared, go for it!
  • @hoosiermama-2 I keep meaning to sign us both up for a CPR class, otherwise not planning any actually baby/parenting classes this time. We will do another hospital tour even though it's the same hospital we delivered last time, I figure it may be good for DS to see the hospital beforehand and understand it's not a bad/scary place.

  • @hoosiermama-2 We took classes last time and I'm thinking about taking some of them again. It's only been 2 years, but I feel like everything I knew went out the window!

  • @CecilB93 I wish my hospital allowed kiddos on hospital tours. They have a big sibling class that includes a tour, but they have to be 4 :(
@erinka Good for you for working out! I need to get back into it. Those comments are ridiculous. Maternity leave is no vacation!
  • @hoosiermama-2 Well I guess if you signed up I should too! I was planning on waiting until 30 weeks, but if there’s a wait or something...

And shoot, I just realized I should maybe bring MH so I’m not trying to give him directions while I’m in labor. And he leaves on the 18th. :#

  • Yes! Our hospital only does them like... the first/second Saturday and Tuesday of the month? The Saturday sessions fill up, and it's too far for us to go on a weekday evening.
  • @hoosiermama-2 I signed up for a hospital tour (at the beginning of Nov) because our hospital has gone through a remodel and I think things are not even on the same floor anymore. I also signed my kids up for sibling classes that will take them on their own tour. I do want to take a CPR course - I really need a refresher for the bigger kids and definitely on infant CPR as I haven't had to think about that for awhile. I only took a baby care class and a hospital tour the first time though, no birthing classes.
  • @katy0990 darn, our hospital I think said 3 for sibling class, regardless DS is too young lol.

@hoosiermama-2 I very much appreciate your comments! And I did say something and he back tracked and obviously felt badly. He’s a dad and realized what I was saying.
  • I'm so grateful you said something, for you and other mamas he'll inevitably work with during his career! Sorry to assume that you didn't.

I so wish my birthing center had daycare for my 2 1/2 year old! I just don’t know where she’ll go when I’m giving birth!

@hoosiermama-2 No worries! And yes I agree!

    @mommythlegend Wow! That’s awesome!
@erinka Would it be possible for her babysitter or someone from her daycare to keep her at least until the baby is born?
  • @katy0990 Maybe. It might be challenging bc this baby is due 12/26 and it could be tricky getting childcare or asking a friend to take DD during potentially peak holiday time. Hoping this baby comes on a day that daycare is open!
  • Ugh, allergies are the worst. We've dealt with random hives and itchies lately too. Hope it clears up soon!
  • @kirstey728 I need to know what this sparkling juice is that tastes like sangria! Please tell me more!
  • @maureenmce I’m glad your DD is adjusting well to school, but I hope her super intense mama phase passes soon!
  • @kirstey728 ugh - I hate allergies. DS1 is my eczema, allergy kiddo and I feel horrible for him. I have never had him tested for outdoor allergies, but spring tries to kill him every year. This year I made sure to start his meds early and it wasn't nearly as bad. However, his eczema is bad. He is 9 and hates lotion, so part of the problem is that we are not consistent with the lotion. I'm hoping he will eventually see that lotion helps the situation and start putting it on himself.

@maureenmce I'm glad your DD is adjusting to school and coming around on talking about the baby! "Hi baby" - super cute!
  • @Erinka its Welch's Mocktails brand.

@snugglyduckling25 this allergy this is weird...  he broke out over the course of the day yesterday, but by 12 today his hives are gone. No other symptoms.. no breathing difficulty... nothing.

  • @hoosiermama-2 I 've been thinking about retaking my birthing class and doing the tour of the hospital again, just or the refresher. Whether we can take the class or not though depends on my husband's work schedule. If he can't go, I'm not going alone. lol

@maureenmce I'm glad to hear your DD has adjusted to her class well. Sorry about he mama phase. Hopefully it will pass soon! Does it have anything to do with her being in a new class, I wonder?
