Symptoms week of 9/3

Re: Symptoms week of 9/3

  • Anyone else already experiencing lower back pain?  I don't have a bump or anything showing yet, but I've been having low back pain as well as the random twinges in my pelvic area.  I suppose it's just from my uterus expanding and whatnot, but I always figure it happens from the weight of the baby bump so it was weird to have it happening so early.

  • @kangstadt RLP(round ligament pain) Completly normal with everything stretching.

I literally hit 9 weeks yesterday and all my nausea disappeared. All weekend I could barely eat anything then BAM it’s gone and now I’m starving.  I’m not complaining I’m just afraid to eat because I don’t want the nausea to come back. Now I just need this exhaustion to disappear.
  • I have been super emotional. I heard a song on the radio in my car about staying positive and keeping stress out of your life. I agreed with it so much as I starting singing to it I began crying at the same time. I stopped and thought jeeze get it together lol.
  • I've been emotional and exhausted. For some strange (and amazing) reason, my nausea is much better but it does hit in the evening (of course when I want to spend time with DH and DD) for a couple of hours. I've also been struggling with RLP and some back pain/can't get comfortable at night. I'm savoring being able to sleep on my stomach because I know those days are numbered.

@kangstadt yes. I already have round ligament pain and back pain. The back pain iS mostly after I do something more strenuous like walking to work then standing on my feet and lecturing for 3 hours, then walking back home.
But yes, I think it’s normal at this stage.

@mrstmoose  I’m a stomach sleeper too, but I’m already starting to feel that hard bump. I have a feeling my stomach sleeping days are pretty limited :/

I know im only like 8 weeks. But I SWEAR I’m already showing just a little bit. My husband commented on it too. Is that a thing.... second time around do you show this early??

  • @professormama I feel like I'm already showing too.  My tummy feels hard too - like not just mushy fat and bloat haha.  I've heard your body just knows what to do and what's happening so it's like "alright, let's do this, I'm ready!"  I'll be excited when I don't have to hide it and can let it all hang out.

I guess those are my symptoms this week!  A hard belly!  And burping.  Still so much burping.  More so when I stand up from sitting or lying down.  I know it's starting to annoy H but I just can't help it.

  • The nausea has progressed to vomiting, and I feel huge even though I haven't gained any weight yet. Constipated but passing lots of gas, and exhausted- I'm in bed every night by 9:30 which is super early for me. Oh and the weird pregnancy dreams continue.

I want to go for a walk with my dogs like I was doing but I'm so tired by the time I get home that I don't go. Really looking forward to this second tri relief, and I'll probably be asking my doctor for m/s meds this Friday.

  • @professormama and @mermaidca I'm starting to show as well. It's not super hard yet but definitely harder than the flub that was there almost 8 weeks ago. I'm giving it until 10-11 weeks before I really start breaking out maternity clothes.

I really regret wearing the pants I have on today. Even though the waistband is stretchy, it's the "suck in" kind of stretchy and not the kind that just rests on your hips. I'm ready to take my pants off.
  • @mermaidca @mrstmoose yeah, I'm definitely not ready for maternity clothes, I don't have that much of a bump yet. But I've been wearing dresses and high waisted skirts as much as I can recently. I'm also breaking out the belly band this week. I wore regular jeans a few days ago and ended up having to wear them unbuttoned under my (luckily, long) shirt all day. I have a feeling the snoogle is going to make an appearance soon too.
  • Still all the symptoms, sore boobs, cramping, RLP, burping, exhaustion, food sounds gross but thankfully no throwing up.

  • My boobs are more sore this week. That symptom seems to come and go. I've been throwing up nearly every morning... managed to avoid it today so far atleast. My energy levels are way better than they were with DS and I dont feel emotional at all. DH should be appreciative lol.
I'm so freaking bloated. I'm starving most of the time but if I eat anything I get a stomachache and feel like my stomach is 3x it's normal size. I'm trying to control portion sizes but when I'm this hungry it's tough.
My motivation to do anything productive is nonexistent. My laundry pile keeps yelling at me
  • Im still nauseous, but luckily some of the gas I was miserable with last week has eased up a bit.  I also feel like im starting to show (im 8 weeks) but not surprised since I started showing with my son around 10 weeks or so.  Im also having some burping and back pain. And sleeping at night hasnt been great.  Its exhausting growing a tiny human while chasing around a toddler all day!!  I have an ultrasound tomorrow, i cant wait to see baby.
  • @professormama I’ve asked DH to get my snoogle out but he’s afraid someone will see it and know lol. (Our bedroom door is right next to the living room and front door.) I would get it myself but it’s on the top shelf in the basement. I will have it by Sunday when we tell our parents lol
  • At 7w3d and not as nauseous, but still very tired and not excited about most food. I want soup and junk food. Made chicken stock and let it simmer overnight, woke up and almost barfed because of the horrible smell (should have known). Haven't been sleeping well at night, keep having lower back, thigh pain, and leg pain. Random headaches that come and go. Weird dreams. Pregnancy is kind of like the early days of my Lyme disease. And I don't know if this is a symptom, but I ate half a quart jar of dill pickles and a buttload of fried chicken today.

  • My boobs have been so sore, and nausea has been getting really bad. Yesterday was an all-day battle to not gag or throw up in front of my kindergarten students! I'll be starving, but at the same time can't even look at food. I couldn't even make my lunch in the morning before going to work without throwing up! I've been sipping ginger ale throughout the day and eating saltines, and it wasn't as bad today. I've been having cramping 2-3 times every day like clockwork - usually not severe, but I've had some severe ones here and there in the last few weeks. That's how I found out I was pregnant in the first place.  I've also got a small bump, but I'm positive it's just bloating this early on!
  • I either have no appetite and feel like I'm going to vom everywhere or I could eat a whole buffet. This morning I'm ravenous and yesterday I could only stomach a breakfast sammie until dinner.

  • I don’t feel like myself. I don’t even know how to describe it. My mind feels different and this body doesn’t feel like mine. The reality of pregnancy is finally settling in, and I’m beyond excited for the baby, but I have a strong feeling I’m not one of those women who “loooove” being pregnant.
  • Maybe I'm just extremely hard on pillows, but I'm amazed that you all can reuse your snoogles. Mine is flatter than a pancake and turned into a dog bed.

  • @sdelg09 I’m one of those people who don’t “loooove” being pregnant so you’re not alone. I hate when people make you feel guilty for it
@MRDCle that’s exactly how I feel either starving, nausea, or not interested in food. It’s annoying because like yesterday I was starving all day but I was afraid to eat too much because I didn’t want the nausea to come back
@jennb85 are you drinking enough water during the day(especially if your school isn’t air conditioned) because I notice I get mild cramping if I’m dehydrated
  • With my 1st I think I threw up twice the entire pregnancy and I am already on 3 times in 3 days. Nausea 24/7 and I am DYING. Working right now is hard AF.

  • @kosmo86 I'm in the exact same boat. I only threw up twice total with DS and that wasnt until 8 or 9 weeks. It is wayyy worse this time way earlier.
  • I know we've all been saying we're hungry for weeks now, but I have never felt hunger like this in my life.  I literally cannot fill my stomach.  I ate 4 slices of pizza yesterday afternoon and could have gone for more.  I guess maybe because I am still nursing my first it's amplified?  Not to mention nothing sounds good but bread and bread related food (i.e. pizza), so that's healthy.

@sdelg09 the first trimester is brutal and can really mess with your head.  I really did not enjoy it last time and I am really not enjoying it this time.  I feel terribly sick all the time and like you said, not like myself.  Plus you're most likely not telling people and that can feel pretty isolating.  That being said, I did actually enjoy pregnancy later on once I felt better and people knew and I could feel the little guy squirming around.  Tough it out for now and hopefully you feel differently in a few weeks - I don't think how you feel early on is necessarily indicative of your whole experience, so there is hope!  And so much agreement with @baya5 - there is no need to feel guilty.  Pregnancy is hard, and acknowledging that doesn't mean you're not grateful for the little life you've created.

  • Retched outside a Dunkin’ Donuts today on a busy street. Very classy.

@Piccola1988 So much bread! All the carbs. Every pregnancy app keeps telling me to eat  vegetables and lean protein but *nothing* seems less appealing than a salad with chicken on it.
  • I can’t tell what’s pregnancy symptom and what’s from the cold. Mostly I still just have an aversion to food. It’s serious work just eating anything. Especially eggs, which I also had an aversion to last time. I am so beyond exhausted I feel like I could stop and fall asleep anywhere/anytime. Mild cramping and back ache (though I think that’s from falling asleep on the couch several nights). Rhinitis and the cold = hardly breathing and always nauseous. I pretty much just feel like I got hit by a whole fleet of buses.
    this is my backup acct.

  • @PICCOLA1988 and @lin0442 yes to the carbs. I'm considering my lunch options currently and all I want is to microwave a pizza. Not the salad or soup or entrees offered. I did eat some fruit with breakfast so I'm pretty proud of myself there, ha.

  • @baya5 I was carpooling with coworkers yesterday. (This is not a usual circumstance). Anyway, after they were in my house I realized I had two huge boxes of OPKs on the dining room table. And even if you don't read the fine print, there's a big pic of a cute baby on the box.

  • @MRDCle I'm definitely another one for the carbs, the only thing I've consistently been able to stomach has been pancakes without anything on them. And usually Mac and cheese for dinner. I actually drank a fruit smoothie yesterday and was feeling happy with myself for finally getting some nutrition lol.
  • is it possible for water to give you indigestion? I've been trying to increase my water intake, and I've had the worst gas (burps, mostly) since yesterday! it kept me up half the night. I'm still belching today. needless to say, I'm taking it easy on all food & drink. (I skipped dinner last night, but woke up at 10 starving. the hubs actually went out and got me mc d! first "midnight" pregnancy food run!  :D )

and this past weekend, I swear I could've used a mini-snoogle for just my boobs. they felt like pins and needles every morning. :(

@mrstmoose, you're so cute  :D  waiting until 10-11wks. girl, I have been in pregnancy pants since 7wks. the bloat was unreal!  :s #noshame
  • @batmama31 I didn't even have to wear maternity clothes until 18 weeks last time! I don't have any demi panels and where I live, it's too dang hot for the full panels!
  • Constipation..... until I'm suddenly not.

I am also craving all the carbs. Nothing tastes as good as a toasted bagel with a little cream cheese.
  • Also my mouth tastes like a quarter covered in rancid oil. I keep trying to wash the taste out but it just. won’t. go. away. I mean, I’ll take it over vomiting, but ick.

Mostly just mad that I can’t drink the watermelon juice that I bought. At least I’m pregnant.

I had a bad metallic taste for a while when we were TTC, and then I switched up my PNVs and it's gone!

  • I can’t remember any time in the last month that I actually felt hungry... I’ve been so nauseous that I literally have to force myself to eat or drink anything because it all sounds and smells terrible to me. I’m normally SUCH a foodie!! I’m so ready to like food again!

  • I am breaking out like crazy on my face.  It happened with my last and thanks to the hormones, I'm a teenager again.  It makes me so self conscious.  I've also been a little nauseous and tired.  Come on second trimester.
  • Ugh, today has probably been the worst day so far.  I've been lucky that the nausea hasn't been so bad this time but it got the best of me this morning.  I left the office to work from home and cried when I asked my boss if I could leave (no idea why, thanks hormones). I'm 100% ready for the 2nd trimester.
  • @mrstmoose look for pocket panels! I refuse to wear pants that are anything other than pocket panels. I don’t want fabric up to my damn boobs
  • Unrelenting nausea and heartburn around the clock and major food aversions. Nothing sounds good twice so grocery shopping is a crap shoot. The only food I can barely stomach are totally trashy super processed foods I never eat normally. I'm looking at you Top Ramen, frozen pizzas, sour jelly beans, and McD breakfast sandwiches. I've gained about five lbs of just bloat from eating crap. Looking forward to second trimester and getting some relief!
    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers
  • @eli_belle same with wanting processed foods. I rarely eat frozen pizzas and almost never eat McDonalds but I've been wanting both so much. The bloat is killing me
  • @baya5 Probably not...I've been so consumed with the craziness at the beginning of the school year that I don't realize until the end of the school day that I haven't been drinking enough.  I've been trying to remember more often during the day.
