I just got the welcome package from my doula today, who also happens to be a friend, and she’s doing it at no cost! I think she’s still in training so I don’t know if she can really do it for pay yet or not, but still I was pleasantly surprised.

I have a friend who’s and L&D nurse at a different hospital than where I’m delivering and she’s “settling” for being my “doula” since I won’t transfer to her hospital (they don’t offer water birth and my ob’s practice doesn’t deliver there).
* My best friend has delivered two of my sleeping kiddos, and just applied for a promotion at a different hospital. I’m selfishly upset if she gets that promotion she won’t be delivering this kiddo, but still excited for her to potentially get a promotion*
