To all of you who are still puking: I'm so sorry. That sounds completely miserable. I hope you're able to take it a little easier for the time being, and I hope it lets up soon.
@allthingsgo have you tried sleeping mostly on your back, but with one hip slightly propped up on a pillow? My midwife told me to try that position when I told her I was a back sleeper. She said it's perfectly safe for the baby as long as I'm not completely flat on my back. I found that position way more comfortable but also hard to maintain (I would fall asleep faster but then once asleep I would shift off of the pillow and back to flat on my back, and then I'd wake up). This is the real reason that I'm such a fan of my pregnancy pillow (the big U-shaped kind), because it keeps me in that position (basically on my back, except not quite horizontal) once I fall asleep.
@grebretso, my dr told me if you can make it through the first few days the sleepiness wears off.. that was for the pill I was perscribed, not sure if it's the same unisom.
Thanks @cass06_07, I hope that’s the case. Unisom is probably not as strong as what you were prescribed since it’s an OTC medication, but it would make sense that my body needs to adjust to it. Hopefully it doesn’t mean I’ll have trouble sleeping once I stop taking it!

The sleepiness of unisom will wear off as you get used to it if you take it regularly. I'm trying to hold off on taking it again because I know I will need it for what I'm sure will be terrible insomnia in 3rd tri.
@jessier19@allthingsgo Yesterday I ordered a body pillow (not the U-shape, just a long one) and I'm going to try putting it behind me to prop me up. I'm usually a side sleeper but oddly for the last week I keep waking up to find myself on my back, and OB instructions are to left side sleep from 20 weeks (am 17 weeks now) so trying to avoid making it a habit.
I’ve always thought pregnancy is like one super long (but not always horrible) hangover because I just always feel a little bit like shit. Today my heads pounding and I’m so dizzy and nauseous. Usually I just puke and then I’m fine for the day. Today will not be one of those days. Ughhhh if I’m gonna feel hungover I want to have at least enjoyed like a drop of wine.
@jessier19 just want to say I slept so good last night thanks to your tip! I had my pregnancy pillow on one side and regular pillow on the other so I could alternate propped hips. So comfy!
I don’t know if I’m losing my mind, but suddenly I’m more “aware” of my uterus. I don’t know how else to explain it...it feels full? Almost like my bladder is full but it’s not my bladder. Am I hallucinating?
My face went numb last night so that was a new thing. It really freaked me out , but I ate a sweet potato and some salsa and feeling came back a few minutes later. My puking has mostly stopped, but now I'm constantly dizzy. Come on second tri. You're supposed to be easy!!!
