I have to dress up for work this week, which means back to pre-preg pants with the belly band. My belly is super low, though, so it's sitting on the bottom of my zipper, which is digging in a little. I'm also going to be looking ridiculous trying to stretch my normal tops over the belly, but whatever. Like hell I'm buying new clothes for 4 days.
@runrinserepeat Uh, that must be so uncomfortable! I just can't even do uncomfortable right now, but for 4 days I'd probably have to figure out how to deal with it too. Good luck!
@runrinserepeat I don't have a lot of summer wear for maternity, as my last pregnancy I delivered in early June. So I'm running out of room/have run out of room in a lot of my work short sleeve/tank tops. The other day I wore one and had to sit with it unzippered for the second half of the day because it was too tight on me lol I have sweaters galore, yet it will be 90 degrees this week!
@runrinserepeat Ugh, that sucks. But I don't blame you for not wanting to go buy new clothes...I wouldn't either!
We went to the Rockies game yesterday with my Dad and it ended up being a shit show. DD still needs an afternoon nap and the game fell right during her nap. We ended up leaving the game top of the 6th and she was asleep after less than 10 minutes of being in the car. I feel bad because my Dad made sure he got tickets that were in the shade (it was 92*) and we sat in them for *maybe* 30 minutes. Kids, man.
@runrinserepeat Aw man, for four days I'd probably do that too! (I have to dress up every day somewhat - like business casual most of the time, so I definitely have enough comfortable things to wear. Ha!)
My random is that I've been feeling baby girl a TON the past few weeks, like 6-8 times a day with like 10-20 minutes of little taps, usually spaced 20-60 seconds apart. Last night, while on a flight coming back from a weekend trip, I suddenly felt something that I can only describe as a barrel roll in my uterus, hahahaha. Instead of a singular tap it was this feeling that went from the left side of my uterus all the way over to the right and then the taps started up again on the right side. It was super surprising!
I got my cell free DNA results back and everything is fine chromosome-wise. Hopefully the dilated urinary tract was just a fluke, but even if baby needs surgery, at least it should be a minor/not life threatening issue!
@katy0990 That's great news! I am not sure what "dilated urinary tract" really means, but maybe it's something that can fix itself by the time baby arrives? Plan for the worst, but hope for the best..
My random is that I was finally able to "surprise" DH with some baby kicks! I feel her kick quite often as I am getting ready for bed, to the point that she prevents me from falling asleep sometimes, and have been trying to explain that to DH but he obviously doesn't get it. Well, yesterday she was kicking up a storm so I cuddled close to DH and waited for him to figure out what he was feeling, lol (it was hard not to laugh, because it took him a minute to notice). Suddenly he figured it out and said "Dear god, is that the baby kicking?" It was a pretty awesome moment!
@ab_canada We are definitely praying that it resolves on its own. However, given the multitude of issues that this could be indicative of, if all we have to deal with is possible urinary tract or kidney surgery, that seems much more manageable, given these results.
Also, this is super random but I am very excited, so I want to share! I found and bought on Facebook marketplace this weekend: a little play yard/baby dome that was brand new, and a pack and play with the bassinet and change table (that one just needed a wash and now looks brand new as well!). Oh, and my Medela Freestyle came on Friday. All of these things are making it feel so real! DH just looked at the pack and play once we set it up and went "what have we done?" He has the same reaction whenever I show him a cute newborn outfit, etc
@runrinserepeat Thrift stores!! But that’s just me, I like hunting for treasures and buying tiny baby clothes secondhand. I super understand if you don’t want to waste time looking for dressy maternity clothes, it’s a total crap shoot.
@clbness Blast, sorry you guys didn’t get to enjoy those seats longer.
I have two little randoms already 1) I finally received my vehicle's registration sticker (registering out of state sure is fun), but noticed that they spelled my name wrong. I'm sure Erics and Erins get the ol' switcheroo all of the time, right I'll change it later. My first two drivers licenses showed the wrong height for years before I got that fixed. 2) I gave into advertising and will be trying Daily Harvest. I wanted to try a dozen things, so I signed up for a weekly plan that I will cancel as soon as I receive my dozen cups. I haven't had the patience to make real shakes, so I'm excited about the shakes. I also got soups for me, and harvest bowls for DH (that he can easily take for lunch if we add a chicken breast). I hope there's room in the freezer for these things

@katy0990 Glad your results came back and everything looks good! FX that your LO won't need the surgery.
@ab_canada Your story and your H and the baby kicks is just awesome! And nice job scoring some great baby stuff!
@echo-charlietango You'll have to let us know how your Daily Harvest stuff tastes (side note, I was totally going to abbreviate that to "DH stuff", but, ya know, I don't need to know how your DH tastes! LMAO!) I haven't tried it, but the smoothies look absolutely delicious!!! nom nom!

@echo-charlietango girl, I tried. I'm 5'8", and just about everything I could find was too short After trying several stores a couple of times each, I gave up.
@echo-charlietango Ooh I’ve always been intrigued by Daily Harvest! Definitely waiting for an update. And a referral code because I know they’ll give you one man. Also out of state vehicle registration suuuuucks. Solidarity.

So I just said to my husband. I don’t know how I am going to do this. (Referring to how big I am already). He said “you’re gonna pop that big boy out and get runnin on the treadmill”. I could not love him more. There is no sugar coating with him and he knows I can’t stand feeling large. I kid you not I am the same size as when I went in to be induced. I swear my DH is the sweetest! After a rough day we went on a very nice date tonight but he always shoots straight and will support all the crying during the weight loss, hormonal breast feeding phase!!
@hoosiermama-2 I bought an Arms reach co-sleeper off on Marketplace for $20 and it was dirty. I took it in the backyard and hosed it down and used seventh generation dish soap and a scrub brush and scrubbed it down and let it sit in the sun for.the day and it looks brand new!
I have no idea why (other than the whole being pregnant thing), but literally overnight I went from everything being completely normal to my hands swelling up to the point where I can't wear my wedding ring anymore; I got it off, luckily, but it doesn't fit over my ring finger knuckle at all. A temp set is on the way, but my finger feels uncomfortably naked.
In other news, I cleaned out my refrigerator tonight and I can now identify every leftover AND remember when I bought everything in it. Pro adulting over here, so long as you pay no attention to the silverware at the bottom of the sink that I left because I got bored sad forks and spoons are the most tedious dishes to wash.
@agk2015 how swollen are your hands? have you weighed yourself recently? your post just triggered my mind to think of preeclampsia because a good friend of mine posted that her fingers looked like marshmallows all of a sudden and she had a headache and she ended up having it.... Just being cautious!
@hoosiermama-2 I think it depends on the PnP. For mine, almost all of the fabric is attached to the frame with velcro, so I was able to take everything off the frame and throw it in the wash on a gentle cycle. For the few parts I couldn't throw in, I just used a stain remover and a sponge to spot clean.
...all the crying during the weight loss, hormonal breast feeding phase!!
You mean there is a more hormonal phase than now? I don't know how I'm going to handle that.. I've been pretty good for most of the pregnancy but I think it hit me over the last month or so.. I'm crying over the stupidest things and my poor DH doesn't know what (totally normal!) comment will set me off ...
@ab_canada I had a rough first 10 months or so. The first few weeks are tough with crying, baby blues, and all the hormones getting out of your system. But I continued to cry and be anxious about everything.
@ab_canada I've mentioned it before, but I'm 99.99% sure I had postpartum anxiety. It was obviously untreated. I am prepared to go to my OB or whomever and get some medication if needed.
@katy0990 Yay for good test results! A friend in my O16 groups daughter had issues with her kidneys being dilated and they cleared up on their own. I hope yours do too!!!
@AGK2015 I feel you on the swelling... I haven't been able to wear my rings in a while Maybe I'll order some stand in's for the meantime too!
Things have been hectic here! We had a wedding in Palm Springs this past weekend, kid free, which was glorious. I slept until 9:45 on Sunday! Other than that, work has been crazy (kind of a nightmare tbh, can't wait to get out of here) and we're planning DS's 2nd bday party. DH wants to do all these DIY things and I'm just not into it this year. Just order it all and call it a day! He's getting a bounce house thingy, isn't that enough?! lol
@ab_canada so yes after the baby is here it takes a few months for your hormones to level out but for me the crying is almost all frustrations. I don’t care what anyone says but breastfeeding is a labor of love and hard. There will be times you spill milk and lose it, don’t get enough when you pump because baby is eating more and you aren’t producing enough at the time and there’s is some pain and discomfort too! All things that have sparked the water works. Being sleep deprived, that’s tear worthy. My big one was most of the weight was gone in a few weeks but my body had a new shape I had to adjust too and my tummy never went completely flat again. Eating well and working out with everything mentioned about can be rough. Then there is the best part, the level of love and abundance of joy your baby will bring is the absolute best and it’s completely okay to cry about that too!!
@ab_canada exhaustion, hormones, and a huge life change + reAlizing that your life will never be the same again is a lot to adjust to. Also, breast-feeding was the hardest thing I have ever done and it definitely made me super emotional for all of the reasons that have also been listed on this thread.
@Jens_Hoes Our experiences sound extremely similar. This time, I will also make sure I talk to my doctor if I have the same feelings. I hope the second round is easier for both of us.
finally starting to work on my shower with one of my bffs and my mom. We're doing "taco bout a baby" theme. Cheap, yummy, and fun. It's gonna be co-ed, which i think will be cool.
@texas_t not so crazy swollen that I'm worried about it, but in any case I've got an appointment tomorrow so they'll definitely be checking my BP anyway.
@morgantu ummmmmmmm I don't want another shower but if I had to have one it had better be taco themed. Yummnm!
@tunnel I laughed for about five minutes straight! It was probably the way he said it. His inner coach came out and it was like a mini pep talk. There is so much going on right now (not just with my body) that is out of my control but he is right after this baby is here I will again have control of at least that!!

@morgantu Can't go wrong with tacos! We had a coed party for DD. Called it a BaByQ, which some of my super mature friends enjoyed joking about.
