I personally find Facebook more user friendly, especially on mobile. When I have the babies I'll be primarily on my phone, so honestly probably wouldn't stick with TB. I doubt I would be the only one, food for thought.
@lifesabeach624 I would said yes but maybe not make it a super obvious we're voting on a future FB group poll simply because anyone can vote on it and I could forsee people that normally don't participate in the group just auto voting FB since TB gets a bad rap. Kwim?
I dunno... Maybe name it little turkeys and then have options of outside turkeys vs inside turkeys? I dunno that might make it super complicated and maybe I'm just too paranoid
Eta: @KellyT22 understandable and obviously everyone has a different preference. But FYI I'm using TB mobile app 95% of the time. (Only time I'm not is when I want to update my siggy/do the siggy challenge polls).

if the majority want to move to facebook, no hard feelings here! i’m firmly no more facebook for me, but that’s my choice and i’ll live with the consequences of it. i’ll still probably check in here at the bump once in awhile if there are other stragglers.
@lurvleybunchococonuts while I'm always down with a secret code, it would probably just be simpler to make a thread and instead of a poll just have everyone comment with their preference, so we would still see who actually votes what...

I'm definitely down for FB...I have so many issues with the bump app at this point. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... and I have to use my data to love tit, as WiFi doesn't allow me too FB would just be way easier for sharing photos and such. That being said, if we went private TB group, I would begrudgingly get out my laptop and try to participate more...
I'm up for whatever really. I like that our bmb is small, and basically drama free, so I'll follow the consensus
I'm down for facebook too, although I'd prefer to wait until closer to babies being born/right after birth. My N14 board waited until November-December I think to move to facebook and only let people who participated on the bump in. I hate the bump mobile app, and very very rarely use it. Facebook is much more user friendly, and I remember spending a lot of time interacting with N14 on my phone while breastfeeding. There were a couple people in N14 that didn't have facebook, but made "fake" accounts that they used just for the group (not to interact with anyone else on) so that way we could still keep in touch. I'd hate to lose so many main posters, so I will do whatever the group as a whole decides. I just don't know that I'd be on the bump near as much as I would facebook because I'll mostly be on my phone.

Stupid box. @lifesabeach85 I think a poll is a good idea. I’m not on FB either but would consider creating a private account for the sole purpose of staying in touch with this board. I opted not to do this w/ my last BMB and though I don’t regret it given how catty that group was, I will say that our board on TB quickly died out. This time around I would be genuinely sad to lose touch with everyone. Someone will just have to remind me how FB works!!
I created a fb account in order to remain part of my may16 board and it was great. I feel I havent been very active here on tb (so I hope I'd be allowed to be a part of whatever branch off type group was started) but was a very active participant in may16 fb group until it blew up. I agree fb is more user friendly for me personally than mobile bump but would be happy to participate in any type of group the majority decided on.
may i add a third option? there’s also the option for a different community forum website that will host us for free and has it’s own app; it would be like the bump, but not the bump. we’d appoint our own mods and manage most of it on our own, with some support if needed from global mods from the company.
i will say that i know nothing about the process, and i cannot commit to being a mod because i don’t know what life will be like for me after the twins get here. i also don’t know if there is the option to make it private, but i imagine it’ll be harder anyways for random drive bys to find us.
I’m interested in a nonfacebook option. I’m a member of some gaming groups and one of the groups uses the app “band” and it’s actually really cool. It’s free and lets you make calendars, have separate thread/forums, you can post pics/gifs easily and the app is super user friendly.
Two Furbabies: Mika (american eskimo) and Gypsy (wire-haired terrier, dachshund mix)
Twins: Kaiden and Zara born 10/2018 conceived after 6 years of infertility via a medicated IUI
Another vote for Facebook. I hate the bump app. And I really don’t like “forums”. I get bored easily and find it hard to stay up to date with them. I feel like Facebook would be easier for me personally.
I’ll just throw out that I am also on board for fb. It was great for my June 16 board and also agree with it being the easiest. I already am in a lot of groups that have been pretty easy to keep private.
+1 for Facebook, though I would go with the group. I’m always on TB on my phone and it’s annoying. I would use Facebook a lot more and agree with PP that I don’t know how much I would use a forum.
We could maybe move to a private bump board sometime in September, then move to Facebook a while after the babies are born? Those who don't have FB can stick with TB maybe? I personally don't have a problem with TB and I hate the idea of losing some members who don't have FB. I think it's kind of unfair to expect everyone to move to FB or just leave us completely if they don't want to move to FB. I'd love to find something for everyone.
I am another vote for Facebook. It’s been so easy for me to use with my Aug ‘16 group. I would prefer to not move twice and just keep things here until we decide whether we want to do FB or something else. I hate the bump app and would prefer something with less bugs if fb isn’t the route chosen.
well I’ll just put my two cents here. I would prefer FB. Like others have said it’s more user friendly and I’ll be almost exclusively on mobile once Baby is here. I also hate to lose anyone but I am having trouble seeing how to make everyone happy here. I will definitely participate in either one (or both should that be the way of it) but my vote is for fb
I’m definitely on board for fb whenever. At this point I probably wouldn’t be friend requesting anyone until we get more personally acquainted and more comfortable with a private group. But I much prefer fb.
Also, if we do decide to stay here until after the babies are born, how do we want to handle birth stories? Everyone create your own attention whore thread to announce, or just one stickied thread where we all post announcements? Just stuff to think about.
Ill add that so far this board has moved pretty smoothly. My last bmb was all drama and we broke into cliques pretty quickly, but we found our people that way and got to know each other through all that. This board has been completely different! I think we’ve only scratched the surface here and i think a different platform would facilitate more bonding maybe?
@emjohn517 - From what I've seen from other BMB there is usually a sticky thread to announce when babies are born and people love tit to say congratulations, and then either another sticky thread for birth stories or people post them in separate threads. I like the idea of a sticky thread for announcements. I don't care how birth stories are done. My last BMB was similar to yours. I don't feel like I know people here quite as well as I did in my previous BMB. I don't know how much of that is laid back personalities, or it seems we have a lot more STM+ here too who have less free time with other kids at home.

+1 for FB, honestly at any point now. We waited until after the babies were born in my M13 group, and did around this time or slightly sooner in my M14 group. As someone who had to take the time to vet and match up everyone to their FB names from TB, it was easier to do pre-newborn than with a newborn.
I honestly wouldn’t use a platform that wasn’t TB or FB - I’m only here in hopes of the eventual move to FB because I appreciate my first two groups so much! I’m always mobile, and it’s just easier on fb.
I'm another vote for fb but would hate to lose such key members of our group!! I think fb is easier for me to use especially on my phone but will go with the majority.
Sorry I was MIA for so long. On Oahu we had minimal impact from the hurricane (yay!) But some of the other islands got it rough. I'm glad we were all extremely prepared. We got 2 more possible hurricanes heading our way though so crossing my fingers that everything goes good.
I think around the time we set up an FB group, we should also set up a private bump board for those who don't have Facebook/don't want to move to Facebook yet. If people want to participate in both, that's fine. I just want to find something that works for everyone and it seems that might not be possible, so maybe we can give everyone options that work for them, that way some of our members without FB don't feel like they just have to peace out.
@kamahina9 So glad you're safe and your island wasn't impacted much. Keep us updated through the other 2 hurricanes if you can.
It totally sucks to lose people one way or the other. I our group.
I'm with @offtoneverland, I like the idea of setting up both a FB group and a private bump board. That way those who are very pro-FB group can get settled, those without FB don't lose everyone, and those who don't have a strong opinion either direction don't feel forced into picking sides.
Would anyone have a problem if people wanted to be part of both?
@kamahina9 stay safe and keep us updated if you can!

I think it would be really hard to keep track of two different groups. I'm not saying I wouldn't try, but I with a newborn and DS at home, I know realistically it's unlikely. Would the handful of people that don't use facebook be interested in making a fake account for this BMB group? It's just so much easier than the bump app. Just trying to figure out a way we can all stay in one group. Otherwise I feel like groups will likely end up splitting.

I agree @mockingjay1. I was super anti facebook and hadnt had one for several years after an ISIS hit list was posted with family information from my husbands then command that was gathered from social media platforms. I deleted mine and had no intention of ever having one again. My may 16 board was very close and as a ftm I just couldn't imagine not having their support once dd got here. I went ahead and created a fb page solely to participate in my group and I'm so glad I did. Not to say everyone would or should be open to creating one just for tb purposes, but just speaking from that side of the aisle, my creating my fb has allowed me to stay close friends with several may16 members regardless of our groups unfortunate blow up and having the fb ease of access to see who was online at 2am and ask bf questions or simply vent seriously saved me.
I think I would try and do both. Not that I contribute a whole lot, super lurker here. But I really appreciate all the info and I do want to try and be more involved.
It’s storming out and I have a terrified five year old curled up against me. Baby Boy keeps rolling around and my daughter can feel him. It’s so stinking cute.
There are many, many things I will not miss about being pregnant but I know I will miss feeling the movements.
So everyone in my office is assigned a cleaning month. This month I get to do all the office vaccuuming and clean the tile floors (also coffee room/break room weekly trash, etc). Just spent the past 1.5 hrs vacuuming the break room and main office area and I am pooped! Still have the lobby and unoccupied offices to do. And the tile floors (that'll be a tomorrow job me thinks). I should have planned this out better. In the past I could get all the floor stuff done in a few hours. I didn't take into account how friggin drained I already am. I'm definitely moving slower and losing my breath soooo much more easily. It's gonna be a loooooong day today if I'm this exhausted this early.

@lurvleybunchococonuts we have to take turns cooking lunch for the entire staff-- I definitely did not sign up for a shift this year lol. I work in a school and will only be here 12 weeks before I'm out for the rest of the year-- glad I didn't because I am SO drained on the daily, I can't imagine having to clean so intensely! Hope it goes by quickly for you
@lifesabeach85 - no sorry, I'm only taking my prenatal, fish oil & calcium chew.
I have a question also, I guess it could have gone in the nursery thread but I figured this could work too... I'm trying to figure out whether to get a rocker or a glider for the nursery. I know we need something in there but I'm not sure which is better. The nursery room is pretty small so whatever we get can't be too big. What do you all have or what are you getting?
