We're 10 weeks and officially went public at our recent housewarming party. (Followed by a social media post for out of town friends/family). I know it's still a little early, but this is the first grandbaby on both sides, so we are all over the moon! It is definitely hard to keep a secret, I give you other mamas a lot of credit!
Almost 10 weeks and we will be just starting to share the news in 2 days! It'll be my dad's birthday and one of his gifts will be the announcement. It's my parents' first grandchild and I'm so excited to share the news with them!
@mayoduck we did that 2 years ago with DS for my MIL. She was so excited she screamed lol and we got it on video! I’m so excited for you! Have fun with it!
We are waiting to tell close family (parents, siblings, bff) after our ultrasound @ 8wks, which will be next week and it will also be my sister's bday. We have a gift for her announcing baby. Its been difficult to keep it from my mom and my sister since I see them almost daily and I normally tell them everything. We'll tell everyone else after 12wks. Kind of nice to have a secret between me and DH. But I also want to tell everyone the good news since they have been wanting us to have a baby for years now.
We are waiting to tell everyone until 12 weeks. I was pregnant in February and we had a missed miscarriage at 7 weeks. So when I got pregnant in June we decided to wait to tell everyone. In all honesty I’m just scared to tell anyone
I'll tell close friends after I see the ultrasound next week. I'll do the big reveal in November when we close on our house and announce both together.
Telling my mum next weekend. She's finishing her treatment for breast cancer at the end of the week and I think it will be a nice surprise to have 2 things to be really happy about.
@meralda that is sooo nice and it will be such a welcome distraction for her! let us know how she reacts we "went public" tonight both on my blog and on my personal social media accounts. my phone has been absolutely blowing up!!! but it is such an amazing relief and weight off my shoulders to know that i don't have to "hide" anymore and now we can just coast and enjoy this time! phew!!!! longest 12 weeks of my life!
@lucysmom2016 ADORABLE!!! i'm kind of in love with ours too. we had a series of photos done (for the blog) in Target, but when I went public last night I shared them to Facebook as well. Now you made me want to show them here!!!

@indigoheightsblog Your pics are so cute! And I can't stop admiring your shoes! Those are adorable!
@kristimh80 I think with enough treats, our dog will cooperate, but who knows! We're also planning to run her around the yard for a little bit before we try so that a) she's gotten rid of a little of her excess energy and b) so that she'll have a big tongue-flopping smile on her face for the picture
@kristimh80@lucysmom2016 thanks ladies!!! we had such a blast shooting this. the shoes are from Nordstrom, their juniors brand which I believe is called BP.
@lelkcot yikes!!! I’d be so upset! After I had DS I sent his picture to a very close friend/co-worker ... she edited the picture and sent it via text to a lot of our co-worker friends. I was so mad I was literally speechless!
@flyingmombula & @ashley14598 I’m pretty irritated with her, it was less than a week between telling my mom & when I was planning to tell my sister. But I know I should let it go.
@lelkcot The crazy thing was I had horrible postpartum issues and along with everything else going on it took me a month or 2 to even think straight put all the puzzle pieces together as to what had happened!
Our parents and siblings have known for weeks but we finally told our friends after the first trimester screening went well. Two of my friends from HS also announced their pregnancies earlier this year (so funny that states apart, we all three decided this is the year!) and it was so nice for me to finally be able to respond 'me too!'. I love that I get to share the first time mom experience just months apart from some of my oldest friends.
@mayoduck my bff and I are both due within 5 weeks of each other. This is both our second child, but it’s still nice to have someone close to share it with. We’re trying to figure out how to get together for a week during our leaves to hang out in Palm Springs.

@mayoduck@meggyme me and one of my oldest friends are due like 5 weeks apart too...well im due march 17 and she is due april 9th and whats funny is that my due date is the bday of her son that just turned one...LOL and my son's bday is in april also...its nice to go through it with someone close, definitely agree! i told her right after i found out and week later she sent me her BFP like..."surprise" LOL
@indigoheightsblog, I've seen that happen before on here. ToU don't allow you to post links where you profit financially or advertise or solicit for other businesses, and since you do make money from your blog, that's probably why. I would expect you do have a message from them like PP said.
Yep I had a message! I responded to it, because I don’t make money from people clicking the link - in fact there’s nothing even shoppable in that link! Very weird. Oh well!
But you do, in a way, make money from people clicking through to your blog. I have a blog, too, and the only way to make money is by having a readership. You can't get companies to pay you to advertise their products or send you free stuff unless you have a certain number of readers, and the more readers you have, the bigger companies you can attract. So in a way, you do make money from people clicking because you're sustaining your numbers and/or getting new unique views you didn't have before and you're basically selling those numbers to companies.
At least, that's the way I understand XO's justification of disallowing stuff like this to be.
I mainly waited to tell family and close friends after our 8 week appointment just to make sure everything was going okay. I was relieved when they told me the heartbeat was great and everything looked good as I am such an anxious person and constantly fear something bad is going to happen. We went to the beach last week and took our pregnancy announcement pictures and I am so excited to share them with the rest of the world (social media lol) I am just waiting until after my appointment tomorrow to make sure he heartbeat is still strong and everything is okay. I’m 13 weeks today and so excited because so far nothing has felt wrong but for some reason I am so nervous for my appointment tomorrow and I just want to feel excited. Is there anyway I can feel some relief to get me through to my appointment tomorrow, I’m just so afraid for bad news.
@kt2019mom Your nervousness is completely normal and understandable! I definitely went back and forth between feeling good and optimistic, and feeling sure something was wrong. The only thing I could do to reassure myself was to remind myself that I wasn't experiencing major bleeding or cramping, and looking up miscarriage risks by week and seeing how much the odds really are in our favor that everything is ok. You know your little one developed a healthy HB and just making it that far drops the risk substantially. Alternatively, you may want to find an activity or something else to focus on and take your mind off of the baby as much as you can.
@mayoduck Thank you so much, that really does help. I have been trying to do everything to reassure myself but then once I do I convince myself I’m going to have a missed miscarriage. It’s hard to just let myself relax about it. I want to be excited about making it this far it is just so difficult
@kt2019mom I feel you! I was feeling confident about my appointment last week until about 24-48 hours before. I tried to keep calm knowing that I hadn’t had any signs to tell me that things weren’t going well (no out of ordinary cramping or bleeding). Also as a co-worker told me there is no reason to fret about or worry about something that hasn’t happened as of today you are pregnant and take every bit of confidence in that.
Thank you @ashley14598. I’m hoping the chances of it are slim since I haven’t had any symptoms of miscarriage and the chances are high everything is still as healthy as last time
I plan on telling my co workers this week, what are some fun ways to tell them? Not the donut idea bc my boss did that during her announcement a few years ago .
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
