  • @soehlerk I have been stalking mine too.. but just to try to get an idea of when my "surprise" shower is! My mom won't tell me, so I have been stalking to see if anyone has bought anything so I know if my shower is coming up. #sorrynotsorry That's what she gets for not telling me lol.

  • @soehlerk I am totally guilty of this. I did the same thing with my wedding registry. I don't look at WHO bought it (so that is still a surprise), but I definitely scope out what's been bought. For the baby shower it's actually a practical reason. I'm in a Mother's of Twins group that has a HUGE consignment sale each Fall/Spring. All the mommies of multiples can sell in the sale and it's a pretty big deal around here. The Fall sale happens to be on the same day as my Baby Shower, but because I'm in the group (and am helping set up...as much as I can at 28 wks pregnant with twins), I get to shop the night before the sale. I need to know what items we didn't get so we can scope them out at the sale...that's my excuse anyway
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • I've been a TAD itchy and of course I'm super worried. Going to get a swab on Wednesday but I'm super scared that it's BV. Anyone else have BV in a previous pregnancy, get it treated, and have no complications? I just need some comfort.

    @soehlerk
It's so exciting! We get notifications when someone buys something. I like to see what we got, but I don't check who bought it :)

  • @tessiesmom26 Good luck! Hope everything works out for you guys.
  • @soehlerk yes! all the time. Exactly the same boat, just so excited!
  • Random, but is anyone doing specific exercises for their pelvic floor? I haven't been and am wondering if I will severely regret this in 3 months..
  • @eahayes I do keagels while I drive (I have an hour commute each way so it helps fill the time) and I do ten squats before I pee each time. Random advice from a friend. I figured it can't hurt. But yes, do keagels. Scientifically proven to help with incontinence post partum.
  • Eahayes, i have been doing pelvic tilts, keagels and squats helps strengthen pelvic floor. It’s not too late to start! Even every time you go pee, start and stop a few times. It will definitely help!
  • @mockingjay1 glad to hear you're moved in and have the internet! Best of luck unpacking!

I'm curious if there are any opinions on cord blood banking? I haven't looked too much into it but am wondering if I'm missing the boat on something here...
  • @ftm_jen love the squat idea! With how much I pee, this will be great for me!

@ginny_203 We briefly looked into cord blood banking last time I was pregnant. We attended a presentation on it that was held at my doctors office and ultimately decided against it. It’s really pricey to store over the years and there is no guarantee that should you need it, the cord blood would be a match for anyone in the family. It just seemed like a high price to pay for something that seems like a low chance of needing/matching/working.
  • @josie12367 Ooooh what's on your list to buy?! So excited for you!

  • @ginny_203 like @BabyBoyH92016 said we looked into it during the last pregnancy and decided against it for similar reasons

    I'm going crazy over here.

I'm having a hard time falling asleep and then once I'm asleep, I keep waking up thinking I hear my alarm on my phone going off.

Even after I wake up, I still "hear" my alarm for a few seconds.  It happens several times a night and it's driving me up the wall.

I'm not sure if it's some sort of pregnancy-related sleep disorder making me hallucinate/blurring the line between dream and reality or if it's just a "thing" that's currently happening (especially since I already have sleep issues unrelated to pregnancy).

  • @offtoneverland So I have an infant car seat and base, and then the rest is mainly nursery stuff. I have a six cube storage shelf, new crib sheets, a pillow for the glider, wall art and decals, a few shelf decor items, a new rug, the crib mobile, a night light with a timer, decorative vinyl to go on the furniture (<<I'm super excited about this one, as my crafty side is coming out), muslin Bambi blankets, a rainbow wicker basket, some little fleece booties since it gets super chilly here....and my new diaper bag!

I have so much from my last DD as far as clothes and the basic nursery gear, so this is all just extra for the most part. I told my DH that I really wanted DD3 to have a nice room even though we're moving in a year and a half. My last DD didn't get to have a nursery due to living with my family and then coming overseas...This is most likely our last, so I want to do it up right :)

How is your nursery going? We should all update on the nursery thread...

  • @kamahina9 wow so crazy! I can’t believe you’re able to be working so much in your third trimester. Thinking of you!

  • Thinking of you @kamahina9. That is so much to be working! I hope you are feeling ok.
    Pregnancy Ticker

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts yes! i just posted about it in my ticker change thread! like @wannaflickone, i had anterior placenta last time so missed out. it’s really cool now to feel/see movements not just against my bladder  :D
  • @lurvleybunchococonuts - yes! It is one of my favorite parts of being pregnant. The last couple days I've started feeling lots big of movements/rolls. It's such a wonderful reminder of what little miracles these babies are!

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts Me too! I was so distracted during a meeting at work today because the baby was moving around like crazy and I was watching my belly contort like there was an alien inside trying to get out. It was probably very obvious to my coworkers that I was staring at my belly instead of listening. Hahaha.

  • So funny. I thought my anterior placenta would make the movements take forever to feel but I feel him everyday and even got him on video moving around in there (27w now but video was 2 weeks ago) I can't imagine how much you all are feeling without an anterior!
  • So, ds spiked a fever last night. It was pretty low grade but that, combined with him messing with his ear and the No sleep makes me wonder about an ear infection. Guess I will be taking him to the Dr this morning. I hope his tubes aren't falling out and we are starting recurring ear infections again. I'm not ready for that, nor am I ready for him to have surgery again.
  • @wildrainbow ugh noooo! not the time, kiddo. but seriously, i hope he doesn’t have an ei, is feeling much better today, and his tubes are still firmly in place. when are you suppose to hear back about your labwork from yesterday?
  • @highsteaks I assume sometime this morning, it's usually around 9 or 10 CST. We are at the Dr now for ds, still running a low grade fever. I would rather get this nipped in the bud, in case baby comes earlier than expected, at least he can come to the hospital.
  • @MojieJo happy birthday boys!!!
  • @MojieJo happy birthday to your boys!!

@wildrainbow oh no! What terrible timing! I hope YSs tubes are good and he feels better soon. Anxiously awaiting your update and praying your labwork looks good!
