@knottienj I would ask your doctors.

@kristimh80 I think the estrace was supposed to suppress but she’s ended up ovulating and getting pregnant but was already taking Lupron for the FET she was supposed to have... if I’m reading right?

  • @mayflower513 I saw she said it didn't help suppress, so Lupron wouldn't help her not ovulate. Maybe I'm confused as well. lol I've never had to take Lupron for a FET. Just know it can actually help your ovulate.

  • I’m on lupron to suppress my ovaries- to not ovulate- I would call your RE as they had to do a pregnancy test before starting lupron.
  • TW.

Ok the beta was 19 today. I don’t know when I ovulated this month bc I wasn’t testing. We BD on the 3rd so I’m 13-14 dpo I’m guessing.  I go back Wednesday. Nurse said it’s probably chemical and hopefully my body will absorb it on its own to avoid methotrexate again.

Ive read these boards enough to logically know this is probably true. *but* there’s still a little part of me that hoping it’s just a really really slow starter. I know it’s silly but at this point I’m not above grasping at straws.

  • @knottienj I'm still keeping my FX for you!  Keep us posted.

@heidis1 My appt on Friday went well.  Transfer is scheduled for 8/23!
  • So dh has been giving me my injections.. he’s going to be leaving town and I’ll have to do the pio myself... any experience or tips?

@ mandapanda1421. Exciting glad to hear!
  • Hi everyone! I’m freaking out a little bit and need some reassurance that I’m not falling apart! (I do have a call in to my clinic, but they won’t call back until tomorrow.)

As you all may know, I had a bfn this cycle. I went in for my beta on Thursday (it is now Sunday), so I stopped my meds Thursday afternoon (15dp5dt).

I started spotting this morning and, assuming my period was starting, I put in my menstrual cup. Around 2pm, the cramps were excruciating. I assumed it was just a heavy day with bad cramps so I checked my cup and I had passed a huge piece of tissue, about the size of my palm. No blood, just tissue. I just checked my cup again, 9pm, and it’s totally empty.

I’m still having pretty rough cramps, but it’s not looking or feeling like AF. Any words of wisdom? Am I broken??
  • @megmac2010 that sounds both painful and disconcerting. I’m sure it’s within the realm of normal but I’m sure the nurses or doc can provide better possible explanations tomorrow. Hope you don’t have more pain and you get a “normal” bleed.

  • @megmac2010 i wish i had an answer for u. Im sure your not broken though. i hope the doc calls early to help ease your mind.
  • @megmac2010 sounds like the period from hell!  I don't have any advice, but I'm sure it's nothing to out of the ordinary to have that happen after taken so many drugs to thicken up your lining

@knottienj I'm going to cross my fingers and pray that it's just a slow starter!!  I haven't ever heard any stories of pregnancies during Lupron, def something to ask your doctor about.  I'm guessing if it was something super risky, we would have tons of warnings and even more legal documents to sign during our cycles

@heidis1 I had to give one to myself for the first time last week and it was much easier than expected!  I just laid on my side and it really didn't hurt anymore than usual.  You can do it!

Sorry I just joined and then disappeared, it's been a crazy week!  Congrats to all the BFPs I missed!  Good news is my FET schedule didn't get derailed and I had my transfer last Thursday.  I flew to my old clinic on Wednesday and had a couple of very relaxing nights all to myself.  Doctor said my uterus and embryos looked great so fingers crossed that everything works!  The week of my transfer ended up being a complete mess.  The Saturday before, my husband woke up with stomach pains and vomiting and suspected a partial bowel obstruction (which he has a history of having).  After treating it at home and thinking it had passed, we rushed to the ER Monday evening when he had a fever and vomitted.  Thankfully, he was just fine, no infection or bowel damage, but he was stuck in the hospital until Friday night. His parents were already in town so my MIL just extended her stay to watch our daughter while I was out of town.  Hopefully the added stress didn't affect our FET. We'd been through this a few times so I knew he'd be OK, but I felt terrible that he was stuck all alone in the hospital for that long.

  • @megmac2010 okay, I have no idea what is normal or not, but I remember for my last failed cycle I had something similar where almost everything came out in one big clump, but outside of that it was suprisingly short and light.
  • Just to pass on some info from my RE on what happened and my meds to clarify...starting day one of my last cycle on 7/23 I called RE went in for baseline work. Started Estrace in cycle day 2. The Estrace was supposed to make me NOT ovulate and the RE office did not tell me to use protection when BDing just in case. So come mid cycle I'm assuming I will not ovulate so we BD au-natural...and I actually did ovulate bc the Estrace didn't work. Cycle day 15 the RE tells me I ovulated and the FET scheduled for last week will be cancelled. (At this point it wasn't even registering that I did the BD and could have conceived) So RE has me start Lupron on cycle day 22 in preparation for me to FET in September now and I was supposed to call him on day 1 on my NEXT cycle. (That should have been today)

My DH actually pointed out to me when I told him the August FET is cancelled - "could you have gotten pregnant since the Estrace didn't stop you from ovulating?" I called RE's office, they said yes there is a chance it could happen and if it does the amount of hormones you are on is small and will not negatively affect the  embryo. I was only on Estrace at the time of potential conception. Lupron and  Estrace(every 3 days 1 pill) have been the protocol for the past week,  now RE says take nothing until we figure out whats going on.

The past few days I have been super tired, super hungry and Saturday night my boobs hurt. That's why Sunday I took a cheapie home test just in case...and there was a squinter. Went to drug store and bought 3 FR and they were all positive. Beta #1 yesterday and RE said could be chemical, could not be chemical. We wont know until another Beta. Technically I am within the parameters for a beta level at 4wks.

So the lesson is -  if you are on Estrace or Lurpon for any part of your FET the amount is so small that it will not harm the embryo if you get pregnant by accident.

  • @knottienj So sorry you're having to deal with all of this. Hopefully beta #2 will yield good results and you can go out to have a good pregnancy this time around. I'm 8 weeks 4 days and still taking estrace and PIO, so yes it doesn't harm anything. Best wishes to you!! <3

  • Thanks everyone! My nurse called back and said not to worry, that it was probably just because my lining was thick. Apparently it’s a thing?

@becca07024411 okay. I didn’t want to say it because I thought it sounded gross, but I think my entire lining came out at once. It looks like a long hallow cylinder of tissue. I know, so gross.  I’m back to spotting today, but maybe this is it?? Does that make yesterday cd1? Ugh, bodies are weird.
  • **lurking from July FET** @megmac2010 I had the same thing happen last month, exactly like you described with the cylinder of tissue, only I had blood too. Of course it happened while I was attending a wedding, during the reception, and I'm like crashing from all the emotions from stopping meds. NOT PRETTY! Anyway, hugs to you, it sucks.

Hi everyone, after the excitement of a positive HPT on Saturday, it ended up being a rough weekend.  I developed OHSS (from the menopur I took to thicken my lining).  I can't remember anything that painful ever.  I went in today, 8dp5dt for an early beta and they put me under to drain 2.5 liters of fluid from my abdomen (I'm only 5'1).  The dr expected like 1 liter..I guess I have a high pain tolerance.  I am home now recovering from the anesthesia..waiting on early beta results. It's been quite the rollercoaster, but I do feel a million times better now that the fluid is out, just hope it doesn't come back, holy crap it was painful.
  • @sungirl39 I'm so sorry you're going through this! I had severe ohss a couple years ago where they drained 3L a day for a week without anesthesia and I was in the hospital. It's the hardest thing I've ever gone through. Hoping you only have to have one drain. Did they make you do a lupron or ovidrel trigger when you were cycling? I've never just heard of menopur causing hyperstim.

@MSU_Girl1202 Holy crap...I cannot even imagine no anesthesia!  I am praying it doesn't come back, so scared to drink liquids.  Yes, I did trigger with pregnyl, but my RE had me waste 3/4 of the 10,000 syringe...so it was like a 2,500 dose.  I ovulated 20 eggs after the trigger (also not fun), so I guess the OHSS was caused by that, plus my body might be making its own HCG now (if I am pregnant).  I feel like they probably shouldn't have had me stim quite so long since we weren't doing a retrieval...was a bit aggressive.
  • @catitiemae thx for the advice. Glad to hear ur dh is doing well! Fx for that bfp!!

@madasm0530  Was it just spotting?  Bug the nurse if you want.  That's what on-call is for.
@knottienj I mean it's possible right?  Surprises can happen.
@sungirl39 Oh man, sorry about the OHSS madness.   FX for your beta.
  • **Lurking**

@madasm0530 I’m sorry to hear you have red spotting. That happened to me over the weekend after my last FET.  I went to urgent care (cheaper than ER).  They didn’t have an ultrasound machine but the doc on call was able to check if my cervical os was still closed. Ideally it’s closed and maybe you just have a subchorionic hematoma. That said, when your RE checks you, even if everything is ok, it still gets recorded as a threatened miscarriage so just a heads up. There’s no way to not be freaked out so it’s don’t be too hard on yourself if your brain is spiraling. Depending on how far a long you are, an us may not be able to tell you much bc it may be too early to see fetal pole/HB... so more limbo! Sending you creepy internet ((((hugs)))

also so sorry you’re dealing with OHSS @sungirl39! Aren’t you also on all kinds of meds and transfusions? This sounds like a rough cycle but I hope you e got a sticky beam on there! Drink lots of water with electrolytes! Trader Joe’s has some good options.

@kristimh80 8 weeks already? When is your next US? When do they graduate you?

  • I talked to the nurse and she said that since the bleeding was so minimal, even though it was red, that I shouldn't worry. HA! she also said that even if they were to do an ultrasound now, there isn't much that we would see so she didn't want to worry me even more than was necessary. She kept reiterating that a little blood is totally normal.

I am going to keep with my mantra that 'what will be, will be'.

  • Thanks so much ladies!
Quick question, do your clinics check estrogen / progesterone levels 5dp transfer? And if so, what was your level? Not sure if mine is good or not, but mine is the same as it was on day of transfer (300) so confused why it's not going up with a +hpt.

  • *lurking*

@MSU_Girl1202 My clinic tests at 5dpt and my level was lower than what they wanted it to be (at a 5.something) so they had me come in for a PIO shot.  Now, I continue my Progesterone in Oil shots every 3 days.  Not sure what my levels are now but I guess they're ok because they haven't changed anything in weeks.

  • @kimberlyshae So, surprisingly, I always have issues with my estrogen not so much progesterone (probably bc they have me ol n horse doses of progesterone). Do you by chance remember what your estrogen level wa sorr if it went up between transfer and 5dpt?
