@madasm0530 Well, I guess I should have written it uppercase T-shaped. It's not lowercase t-shaped the way I typed it. It used to be that women ended up with that shape due to some medication their mothers took but that was already discontinued while my mom was pregnant. There is a chance it's from long term birth control pill usage or I just developed that way. The only way I found out was from having an hsg. @megmac2010 I'm so sorry. Are you still thinking of taking some time and changing clinics before your next FET? It might be good to take that breath and remember what else life has to offer when you are not in the middle of IF treatment. @tj123001 Good luck tomorrow! Keep us posted.
You too @madasm0530 and @tj232004! I know it’s hard to step away from the pee sticks. I drove myself crazy with the variability in darkness of the lines. Having some caution is totally reasonable and can be a helpful buffer to bad news but it’s gonna be a few more hurdles with betas until you can breath a Sigh of relief. For now anyway
@j1006 and @laurengon82 excited for your upcoming transfers. How are the nerves about being on last embryo? I still have four untested but would def do PGS if it comes to doing a second IVF cycle due to repeated loss and no other explanation besides abnormal embryos.
@megmac2010 I understand the desire to take time off. I’ve been going since January. My doc required a second month off after my second MC. My butt is finally back to normal and has no soreness from PIO so while I’m looking forward to trying another transfer, I’m dreading PIO. Lol
@MSU_Girl1202 I never got the original estrogen and progesterone updates so I have no idea what you should be at. Sounds like your close with your lining though if they’re having you move to PIO. That means your close!! FX
@laurengon82 two left of “just okay” quality! Planning to transfer them both this winter!
@suziev3 thanks. I guess I really have given up hope because I TOTALLY forgot to take my meds this afternoon. Whoops! I didn’t remember until I was three hours late taking them! Oh well!
I have started contacting clinics for 2nd opinions. My plan is to do a couple of consultations at my top two clinic choices (in Toronto) this fall. Then I will go back to my current clinic and transfer my last two embryos in January or February. Then I’ll be ready to start a new retrieval cycle at a new clinic in the spring, if my next FET fails. Of course, if I’m planning on it failing, it will probably work!
@northbeach3 I’ve never done PIO, just suppositories. But I’m a huge baby about needles, and hope that I never have to do PIO because I would most certainly be crying, all the time.
@northbeach3 I am super nervous about this being our last embryo. I’ve already in my head planned for another full round of retrieval! I can’t afford pgs testing so I’ll still be just taking my chances and hoping for one good one. Maybe era if a fresh transfer didn’t work out. If we go through all of our embryos after a second round we will be done trying. Just can’t see going on with this with no luck and losses any more than that. Praying it doesn’t come to that.
@northbeach3 I’m extremely nervous since this is our last embryo. My RE keeps saying that I’m putting a lot of pressure on her. We actually met with an adoption agency last week just in case this one doesn’t work out. Unfortunately it didn’t go as we hoped. I think if this one fails we will try embryo adoption and avoid the whole stims/retrieval part of things.
thanks @northbeach3. i was actually stalking old posts to find the one you had about the sensitivity of all the different tests. After an obscene amount of time, I decided to let it go - what will be, will be - right?
anyway, blood is drawn and now we wait.

Very faint positive at 5DP5DT. A hair darker this AM at almost 6DP6DT (will test again tonight). So much for waiting for beta lol. I know its early, but hoping this is our miracle take home baby.
We just found out that we'll be having our FET on 8/30, so here's to joining the party! We have 1 PGS normal and 1 mosaic from our ER in April. I had my ERA on 8/3, so we should be getting those results soon. FX that everyone gets a BFP!
@madasm0530 congrats! @megmac2010 even though your remaining embryos are just ok, they could very well be the one that works. Good luck with future transfers! @fnlfng33 welcome! @sbjbrn congrats on your positive hpt!
As for me, repeat ultrasound tomorrow by my doc (I had a lining check on Friday by a nurse who thought it looked kind of crappy / thin but had me start progesterone anyway). Hoping the nurse was way off and the lining is fine and we can transfer on Thursday!

So I got my beta back - it was basically a roller coaster of emotions.
The beta came in at 101.3. I started crying immediately because I thought that met it had failed - as with my other pregnancy it started at 447. However my Dr called and explained that 101.3 was fine - anything over 50 is fine. I have to go back on Wednesday for a 2nd beta.
Anyways thanks for reading! I appreciate your good thoughts and best of luck to everybody!
@suziev3 Wow that's a super high number! You only transfered 1 right? I wonder if they're thinking it split and the are twins in there w such a high beta!

AFM I had my lining check this morning- they said it is layering nicely and that it is at 6.4 so not as thick as they would like it- they are adding vaginal estrace 2x a day. They wanted me to come back on Friday to recheck my lining but I will be out of town so instead of going next Tuesday as originally scheduled, I am now going Monday. I hope this doesn’t mess anything up.
Girls, I'm so happy right now! Lining check today was 8.5! We're a-go for Thursday transfer! I've never been so happy to have an ultrasound before (it was thin-ish on Friday)

@madasm0530 oh happy day, so glad that your nerves have been put to ease. i'm not sure which HPTs you were using. i'm convinced the FRER are most sensitive at 6.5 HCG, but after that... the darkness on the FRER is very inconsistent and can jump around in lightness/darkness, not really indicating if you're "progressing" in a doubling fashion.
@MSU_Girl1202 sounds like your lining is finally cooperating! excited for you to have your transfer.
@laurengon82 i can imagine the stress of the last embryo for transfer. are your IVF/FET treatments covered by insurance? but not PGS testing? it's all out of pocket for me and i've already paid for an "all inclusive" package that came with 2 IVF cycles and unlimited FETs until viable pregnancy to 12 weeks. I assume if it came to doing a 2nd IVF cycle, we'd pay for the additional testing... last quotes I saw were $5k -_- your concept of "expensive" gets really skewed after IVF (sigh)
@j1006 do you mind my asking what happened when you explored adoption that didn't seem to pan out? i haven't explored that or embryo adoption yet . I'm curious what some of the hurdles / realities are. i forget, do you have specific diagnoses that would be addressed by moving onto embryo adoption?
and congrats to all the other incoming betas! best of luck for beta followups!
@suziev3 congrats! @tj123001 congrats! @MSU_Girl1202 congrats on good lining! @northbeach3 yes IVF/Frozen transfers are covered by insurance, but not pgs testing. My RE said about 5K also. That is out of the question for us unfortunately.
@northbeach3. So I don’t really have a diagnosis. We were diagnosed with MFI and used ICSI to treat that issue. However, 3 out of 5 of our embryos were chromosomally abnormal which was kind of shocking to my RE because of our ages. We decided with embryo adoption to just skip the whole stims part and wondering if it would result in a low number of embryos again. As far as adoption (which it could have just been the agency we met with) she said when all said and done we would be looking at almost $35,000. Plus in our state we can give the birth mom $5000 to go toward living expenses and if she changes her mind we don’t get that back. Also if the birth mom changes her mind after a certain point we lose $3000 in agency fees. Money aside it would take us about 8 months to get on the waiting list and then another 10 months or so to get on the active list. So 18 months before our profile is even shown to birth mothers.
Sending good vibes for all the betas & follow up betas today

@J1006 Just poking my head in -- we were exploring adoption and one of things I really felt was important was having an adoption attorney handling everything and many of them will connect you directly with birth moms. I know a few ladies who were able to adopt much more quickly through a private attorney rather than an agency. Just my thoughts, not sure where you are located -- the laws in my state are pretty favorable for private attorney-directed adoptions (although yes, it is still a risk!).
