@embryoman that's very good info, thank you for sharing!!! are you a doctor? @kbenner2, glad to hear that you feel better and thank you for sharing your whole experience with me. I still feel bloated, no more bad cramps, which I'm happy about it, and started Colace last night, hope to see some improvements. don't have any problems with my breathing or weight gain. My transfer is scheduled for Sunday. I'm glad is on a Sunday so I won't have to take another day off. For those of you that experienced discomfort and bloating after the retrieval, how long did it take before the bloating went away?
@embryoman Thanks for the detailed explanation. Everywhere it says on 1, ill just find out with my insurance company how many FET will they cover and make my final decision based on that.
So I just got the daily report from the Lab and I also asked about their grading scale they do + and - on the letters but they said they don't focus on the sign because they can change really quick. So the 14 embies are still growing 8-12 cells, she said some are growing faster than what they're expected it to be on D3, because they wanted to be around 8 if I remember correctly, which gives me some B+ and B- forgot the exact number, sorry... but they still all Bs. And They will decide on Sunday which one to transfer and which one can be frozen, and no more reports until transfer day. Wish me luck!
@babydust2507 I'm feeling normal other than more gassy than usual. I have pretty much been staying in bed since the transfer on Wednesday and taking it easy working from home. It's hard to take it easy when you feel normal, but last cycle I was up and about the 2nd day after transfer so I'm trying something different this time.
@bkatp I am glad the scan is almost here! It’s been a long couple of weeks of worrying. I’m excited.... but extremely nervous about it as well. I’m hoping for good news and that sweet little heartbeat to show, and that I can begin feeling some peace and excitement after Monday. Thanks so much for asking!
I'm glad you're feeling ok and I think getting some rest is very good idea @lemondrop1976 GL to you @kbenner2 and I know you got this! You're gonna hear a nice and strong heartbeat!
@babydust2507 nope not a doctor! I'm an embryologist. Grading seems to he different between clinics. We just use A B and C, without the + or -. I guess a B+ would be better than a B which is better than B-? Or does the sign represent something else?

Well @embryoman I guess I'm confused with their grading unless the nurse didn't know what she's talking about, but today I talked to the embriologist and he said they're transferring a 4AA embryo that they rarely give this grade and 4 were ready to be frozen and maybe 3 more by the end of the day and some tomorrow. So tomorrow I will get the exact number that got frozen. And i will ask for the grades of the frozen embies. Anyway, I'm glad that the transfer went well and I got a 4AA whatever that means! Thank you @anared! Transfer went well too! Test day is on the 22nd!
Thank you @lemondrop1976, you too! Are you gonna test early? I might test on the 21st where my DH isn't expected to decrease the pressure to have him watching over the pregnancy test
@babydust2507 I'm going to try my best to wait for the beta, I was able to hold off last month so I should be able to do it again, testing would probably make the stress worse for me, but I'll see how I feel as it gets closer. One day early is fine especially if you want peace and privacy lol.
Agree @lemondrop1976 testing is so stressful! Thank you @kbenner2! I got the last report from the Lab, so I'm again confused with their grading, this one has + sign in it again, Anyway, so 9 got frozen (B+A, B+B+, B+A, BB, BA, BB, BB, B+A, and BA) and 4 out of the 14 fertilized didn't make it to freeze, still pretty thankful that we have that many to freeze either for baby #2 or if this one didn't work (but hope it won't be the case FX!)
Hey all! So I had my viability scan this morning. As I sat in the parking lot with my husband before the appointment tears just streamed down my face. I’ve never been more nervous for an appointment. I was just so worried of what news we would hear after all we’ve been through this past year. Thankfully my hubby was able to provide me comfort and pull me together to go into our appointment. In the first moments of our scan the ultrasound tech immediately said “look at that! You can see the flickering of the heartbeat!!” In that moment all my fears were washed away. I can’t even begin to describe how we felt when she said that!!! The heart rate was a solid 119 beats per min. And baby was measuring at 6 weeks 4 days and I’m currently 6 weeks 3 days, so right on track!! Today is the first time I’ve been able to let go of my worries and actually be excited and joyful for this sweet baby!! Our due date is April 5th! I’ll have another ultrasound in two weeks and then I’ll be dismissed from my infertility office and transferred to a regular OB!
As for my OHSS.... my ovaries are still huge! So huge in fact that they are touching each other in the middle... but oh well! I’ll take it! I’m sure they’ll go down sometime in the near future!
@babydust2507 the embryo grading system can be so confusing.... mostly due to labs doing it so differently! But your grades sound fantastic!!! And seriously.... 9 frozen?!?! That’s incredible!!! Congrats!!! Plenty for siblings!!
@kbenner2 I got so emotional reading your post, so excited for you congratulations! That's such a good news and release! Have a happy and healthy pregnancy!
@kbenner2 congratulations. Time to relax and celebrate. For some reason i didn't get the messages until now. That's an awesome news. The one that made it did the magic. It was all for a reason.
I won't have my husband for my transfer and I wont have anyone for beta and u/s scan but that more than a month away so I'll deal with it when it gets closer.
@babydust2507 I am doing fine. In the waiting game. Will start lupron tomorrow for my transfer preparation
@babydust2507 Congratulations on all the frozen embryos! Looks like you have lots of nice ones to choose from. Hoping it all works out for you! That's a weird grading system! I guess the "+" means it's slightly better than just the letter? So would the best quality embryo be A+A+? And the worst C-C-, or do they do "D" as well?
@kbenner2 Congratulations on your ultrasound! Wishing you all the best for a healthy pregnancy.

@bkatp, sorry that for family will not be with you for your transfer and u/s but their heart and thoughts will be with you. praying that everything goes well for you and yes focus on getting ready for it. And I don't have a problem revealing where I go for treatment, unless admin has a problem with that. I'm from Oklahoma. where are you from? @embryoman, that 's a pretty weird grading system. I can't even answer your questions, but it sounds like it. I will ask more questions at my next appointment, and I'm also confused as why these grades don't have a number in front of the letters like the one transferred?
@bkatp I am not sure if it violates any privacy? But if it doesn't I don't mind sharing my specific fertility clinic. In the meantime, I will share that I live in NYC and go to a fertility clinic on Long Island.
I go to OU Reproductive Medicine in Oklahoma City. I used to go to Integris when I first started my TTC journey and it's just at the beginning of this year that I switched to OU
@mackorori So sorry to hear about your embryos. Sending hugs out to you. I am so hopeful that the embryo waiting for you is the one!
@bkatp Were you able to start the Lupron yesterday? How is it going so far??
@lemondrop1976 Congrats on the extra embryo! That is so exciting! How are you holding up so far through the wait and how are you feeling? You are getting there!
@babydust2507 Congrats on your awesome embryo count and transfer!! How are you holding up through the wait and how are you feeling?
@kbenner2 CONGRATULATIONS!! I was so happy to read your report and good news And happy that you are able to start relaxing a little!
As for me, I go to The Fertility Center in Grand Rapids, MI. @babydust2507 what made you want to change centers??
@Katie35 I'm feeling better no more cramps or bloating but the wait is killing me!!!!! trying to stay busy and not to think about too much but it's so hard! I can't help it! looking for symptoms but I don't feel anything different beside light cramping that can still be from ER, ugh! I wish technology was that advanced that er don't have t wait 2 weeks.Anyway, about the clinic, when we first started our with Integris we tried first 3 cycles of femara that didn't work, then semen analysis, came out good, then postcoital came out good as well, HSG, green light! and all this time I was on femara/clomid, we even increase the dose at some point. Then we did 3 IUIs that failed and the RE advised to moved to IVF. At that point my DH was frustrated and felt like they were taking our money and wanted a second opinion. we went to a regular OB-GYN specialized in Hormones balance or whatever she was saying that my hormones weren't balance reason why it was hard for me to conceive. She put me on dexamethasone-femara for 2-3 cycles, nothing happened. then I decided to go back to a RE and chose a different clinic so my DH can have peace about it. when we started at OU Jan-18, they said after everything I tried they were ok to try 2-3 more IUIs monitored this time and with trigger shot and if that don't work move to IVF. so we tried 2 and of course they failed and I didn't wanna try another one because I knew it will be negative again and didn't wanna waste my time any longer. so here I am we my first IVF after 3 years TTC, but i took maybe 6 months or little more break all together, tired of disappointment after disappointment. Sorry for the long post, I felt the need to vaint a bit, hope you guys don't mind
@embryoman can a bad quality egg still fertilized and give a good quality embryo? I'm kinda worried and think I should have done PGS test even though by RE didn't recommended because of my age, but he did say we can still do it if we want, but at the time I was trying to save cost now I kinda regret, and think I should have ....
@embryoman I'm hoping that is possible, I'm in the same boat where my RE will not test because of my age. I probably would opt out of testing anyways. I had 3 highly rated embryos last cycle transferred with no luck, and 3 average rated embryos transferred this cycle so I'm hoping the average step up unlike the highly rated ones did.
@babydust2507 Quality doesn't necessarily relate to an embryo's potential for creating a pregnancy. Sometimes the poor quality embryos are the ones that work. I've seen it many times where CC graded embryos come back euploid, and can think of a few times these resulted in a pregnancy. A poor quality egg may give rise to a good quality embryo, but that might not be euploid, or maybe it is! We don't really know unless it's tested and even then it's not a sure bet to implant and produce a pregnancy (quality of lining, immune factors, etc can have an effect). If you have a lot of embryos and been miscarrying after several transfers, it might be a good idea to test them to see which one to transfer. How many do you have and how many transfers have you done?
@lemondrop1976 You never know! All it takes is one and there's nothing wrong with being average!
