To be fair, I get separate aspects of attachment parenting. I co-slept with DS and it was what he needed (while DD wanted to be in her crib from day one. I'm also a big proponent of baby wearing before they walk. I just don't get people baby wearing, co-sleeping and nursing on demand for a 2-3 year old.
My two year old is only 30lbs and my back is scr among even thinking about that.
also I feel like some of the labels on parenting are just there to try and start mommy wars. If it works for your kid do it and if it doesn’t then try something else.
I'm looking forward to babywearing with the little one! That's my favorite part of visiting my best friend and her little baby. We'd go for hikes, and I'd get to wear him so that she could have a break. I loved it! I hope my little one likes being carried.
My mom was very much into attachment parenting. My brother coslept with my parents until he was around 5 years old, although he was a special needs kid, so it made more sense in his case than in many others. Some of the aspects of attachment parenting are appealing to me, or else just feel normal to me because it’s how my mom did it... but other aspects of it are definitely not for me. My mom and I are already arguing about that stuff. She is a woman of strong opinions.
@ThePax89 She ended up in with us because I’d have to get up so often that I ended up sleeping on a folding mattress on the floor almost every night. Too old and too fat for all that.
