The dreaded H word

Anyone got any good treatments or cures for hemorrhoids? Mine have gotten worse over the past two days and are keeping me up at night. I have used Preparation H, but that doesn't really do too much. I was just thinking the other day that they weren't too bad. Guess I should have knocked on wood!

I was going to post about this today as I got my first one two days ago and the darn thing hurts so bad... puts a whole new spin on pain in my a$$.  Aren't there wipe thingys or something that is supposed to help?  Anyone?  Advice?

They have prep-h wipes but I've heard Tucks pads help a lot too.

They are marketed towards hemorrhoids.
I haven't personally used them for that purpose, but they do make the swelling in my labia go down...

You don't really "wipe" with it, you just stick it up there (not in there) and leave it until the next bathroom break as I understand it.

I've read that ice wrapped in a cloth can help.

Refrigerated Tucks pads (placed over your anus and left there), make-up pads or cotton balls soaked in witch hazel (this is exactly what tucks pads are), anusol (like prep-H but some people have success with one brand over another), anurex (a pinky-finger sized plastic tube thingy) that you keep in the freezer and insert into your rectum a few times a day (like an internal ice pack), thin menstrual pads soaked in witch hazel or plain water and frozen in the freezer (use like an external ice pack), Dr. Wheatgrass cream (love this!), stool softeners (like colace) if you're on the constipated side, baby wipes or flushable feminine wipes to use as toilet paper when you have a BM instead of toilet paper, and taking a shower after a BM to clean off the area. There are also prescription grade creams that your doctor can give you (like anusol or proctosedyl...not sure if the last one is safe in pregnancy).

I ended up having to see a bum doctor for the hemorrhoids, which wasn't actually too bad. I also use the tucks pads, which are awesome.

A few days ago I noticed that I had hemorrhoids. I thought I had dodged the bullet. Thankfully it isn't real bead yet but I wanna nip it in the bud asap. I am going to attack this full-force with everything I got. Prep H, Tucks wipes, Witch Hazel and some natural H cream I got from the health store. I don't know what works yet.

Dermoplast spray. They also give it to you in the hospital.  I will be having surgery for them after DS2 is born.

Tucks Pads and also ice. For me it totally helps bring the swelling down and eases the discomfort. They're the devil .. hope they clear up soon!

I've used the tucks pad, all though, I didn't realize I was supposed to leave it there.  ooops.  I've just been wiping with them and it helps.

I've got minor hemorrhoids and have for a few years, off and on. They're under control now, but I'm scared as to what I'm going to have to deal with after labor! I'm thinking it's going to be strange to make myself push after all this time training myself not to!
