August 2018 FET

Re: August 2018 FET

  • crushed. The estrace didn't work in suppressing ovulation. I ovulated and now FET is cancelled. After the overwhelming week of dealing with medical issues with a kid this was the last thing I needed to happen.

So RE asked...do I want to do a natural or medical FET next month? I have 2 days to decide. He said both have the same success rates, neither is more beneficial, but with the medicated one you can control the timing of the transfer...this may be an issue as my DH travels a lot for work so having control over timing could be good.

    thoughts?

  • ugh @knottienj. i'm so sorry! I would have piece of mind with a medicated cycle and being able to control the timing, but don't have any additional advice to offer. I'm so sorry that you're dealing with this!

  • @caitiemae welcome!  Fx you are able to have your transfer next week as planned.

@knottienj very sorry to hear your transfer was cancelled.  Were you on anything else that was suppose to suppress ovulation or just estrogen?  I think you should do whatever works best for your schedule.  It’s nice that you have the option.  My clinic only does transfers one week of the month so mine are always medicated.
  • @knottienj I am so sorry. I tried to ovulate through the esctrace. I had to do the cetrotide shotes daily to keep it from happening. I couldn't put it off due to insurance reasons. I would have loved to have been able to give you some advice but I don't have a whole lot to offer. Hugs and I am so sorry.
  • @sungirl39 I'm debating whether or not to.  I may do so the day before beta to mentally prepare myself for the results.

TW---------------I did one fresh transfer in March and got a BFP at about 6dp5dt, but it was a rollercoaster from there and I'm scared to go through that again.  Blighted ovum that ended in D&C.  End TW-------

Part of me remains optimistic that this is our time, but the other wants to stay grounded and realistic because I'm afraid of the heartbreak.

  • @knottienj I’m so sorry. I can’t even imagine doing all that prepping for a transfer and then having it cancelled. Big creepy internet hugs for you.
  • @knottienj I'm so sorry you got canceled.  Getting canceled is so disappointing.   Natural was never an option for me so I don't have any advice on that.
@sbjbrn I know how you feel.  I had a similar experience with my first transfer and it's just really hard to be excited right now, as much as I want to.  Stay positive.  I have FX for you that this is the one!
  • Hi everyone, looks like I am a little late to the party! We have been TTC for almost 4 years and started our IVF journey in February 2018. After ICSI and PGS we were left with 4 beautiful embies and following two failed cycles, I had my 3rd FET on August 5th.

This time around I did the endometrial scratch, intralipids, baby aspirin, clexane injections and progesterone injections in addition to my regular protocol. I will know more next week...
  • Can I start moping yet? 9dp5dt, still negative.

Still having pulling/pinching/cramping in my lower abdomen, still exhausted. Progesterone is a bitch.

My clinic does betas super late, so I have to stay on these meds for another week. I’m so done.

@fraukea welcome!! Sounds like a lot of good steps to make this work! When is your beta scheduled for?

@megmac2010 ugh. I’m so sorry. <3 Progesterone is such a pain in the ass. Your beta isn’t for another week? What the heck!!

@megmac2010 I am sorry you haven’t gotten a positive hpt.  It really stinks your beta is late.  I’d be totally done mentally if I were you too!  Try and stay strong.  Anything can still happen!
@Rebelfirecpl Fx for a good beta!
  • @Rebelfirecpl fingers crossed for your beta today!!!
  • @megmac2010 Ugh that tough...my clinic does late betas too, during my first FET when I was getting negatives at 9dp5dt I called them and told them what was going on and that I really didn't want to stay on the meds longer then I had to...they let me come in for early for my beta.  Might be worth a try?

    @Rebelfirecpl Good luck!

@fraukea Welcome! I am doing a similar protocol this time. I also have to take a steroid, plus pepcid and claritin after transfer. Such an odd mix of meds!

Popping in to say hello — start of the semester is right sound corner so work is picking up in full force. :/

@megmac2010  I’m so sorry your getting BFNs. That’s a major bust coupled with a late beta and more meds. I’m on mobile so can’t see your sig. Do you have more embryos for possible future transfers? If you go right into the next cycle, I’ll be a sept cycle buddy with you!

@ndz2018  so excited that your finally off to the races! I know it’s been a bunch of false starts so excited for you to be starting the journey. Same to you @bpietronicco

@sungirl39 yay congrats on transfer! I forget, are you an early tester? I hope this month is better than May! Major fx for you this month.

@laurengon82 @j1006 what’s your status? Are you in TWW yet? Transfer soon?

@Rebelfirecpl yay for your HPTs, hope today’s beta is a good one!

Afm, finally got a transfer date — sept 17. Will start meds aug 28. Glad to have purpose and something to look forward to again. :)

  • @northbeach3 hello!!  My transfer is scheduled for August 23rd.  My last embryo.  Glad to hear you will be starting meds soon!  How many embryos do you have left?
  • @northbeach3 I have two left on ice. I went into this FET immediately after a fresh cycle, and this cycle I took forever for my lining to thicken up, so I’m in desperate need of a break! I’ve been on meds (suppression, stims, or estrogen/progesterone) since March 28th!

I think I’m ready to change clinics. So I might do a FET sometime this fall/winter with my last two frozen embryos, and then move on. I’m exhausted.
  • @megmac2010 since MARCH?! I can see why you're exhausted - that's forever. Is there anyway that you can have your clinic do an earlier beta? It'd be nice to just know!

  • madasm0530  it rained super hard the entire way to the test (2 hours) and then some on the way back. I was so glad to be done!
  • @Rebelfirecpl great beta! So pumped for you... and glad you made it home safely. We had a huge crazy thunderstorm here this afternoon with tons of rain, hail, and wind. It was a scary one! I wouldn’t want to be driving in it!

I am hurting today. Now I’m having back cramps and I totally just vomited. And plus I’m extra cranky from the bfn this morning. My progesterone symptoms are brutal this cycle! My poor, understanding husband!!
  • @Rebelfirecpl congrats! Do you have a second beta on Monday?

@northbeach3 hello! I just finished my BCP and am currently suppressing with Lupron. They estimate that AF will show on the 13th which I know won’t happen until the 14th. It always takes me 5 days after coming off BCP. I go in hopefully next Friday for an ultrasound and bw and get my targets drawn on to start delestrogen next Saturday. This is our last embryo as well.
  • @Rebelfirecpl congrats on the great beta!
  • @Rebelfirecpl Awesome 1st beta!! Do you get to go back in 2 days to see if it's doubling?

@megmac2010 I feel ya! I've been on meds since January!

I had a lining check and blood work today. The dr was out of town so a nurse did it and I'm pretty irritated. She put the probe in and immediately goes "well, that doesn't look great. It's so thin" but then started measuring and got 7.9...which I thought was okay. And then she did my neupogen which I've had before no problem and has taken 2 seconds and it was super painful and she took 10 min doing it!
Anyways, so another nurse called me later today and said she saw a picture of the ultrasound and it's fine. I'm going back in Tuesday to have the doc look himself since I've had lining issues in the past.
Estrogen came back at 270 and they want me to start progesterone tomorrow.
What kind of estrogen numbers are you ladies getting?

@megmac2010 I'm sorry you are in limbo.  I would ask to come in sooner too.
    @madasm0530 When is your beta?
  • Hi All -

I am posting on here for the first time because I am losing my mind a bit.

A little back story (TW - Loss Mentioned)
My husband and I are doing IVF - I had my first FET in September of 2017.  I got pregnant and made it to 22wks and 6 days; when we lost our baby girl Emma Grace on February 2, 2018.  It was due to a incompetent cervix with infection.   I was completely lost and all I could think about was getting pregnant again.  However, my fertility doctor had me wait until July to try again.  We also had to see a specialist about how to handle any future pregnancies. We have been in counseling this entire time and we continue to go.  It has been a hard road to get to this transfer emotionally and physically.

Fast forward to now - and we just did our 2nd transfer on July 31st.  Since the transfer I have been a nervous wreck.  I tend to read about every possible outcome and I can't stop POAS.  I am now worried that my lines are not getting darker.  I was hoping someone could take a look and give me their opinion.  I have my first BETA on Monday and I am so scared they are going to tell me that it failed.  I know that the POAS won't change anything but I can't stop.  Anyways - I appreciate anyone taking a look - and good luck to you all.

  • @tj123001 I did my beta Friday. My lines didn't get darker at all. But I had a good beta. Maybe you are going to have an average amoiam of HCG.

@suziev3 it is awesome we are on the same schedule. O can't remember of you did one or two embyos.

Everyone, my next beta is Monday. I don't know if they will do a third or just let me wait for the u/s. I hate driving 2 hours for blood work. I am at least an hour late to work when I do.

@suziev3 that’s so great!! <3 How many did you transfer again? Has the spotting stopped?

@tj23001 welcome! Not judging the darkness of lines is easier said than done. Looks like we are beta buddies on Monday! FX for a strong number! <3

AFM, My beta is Monday and I’ve consistently been getting +s on wondfos and a digi this morning. I’m still so nervous though!

@madasm0530 If you are consistently getting + hpt, I think you are in really good shape for Monday and I will be looking forward to your update!
@tj23001 Inconsistency in the lines seems to be a pretty common thing.  FX for Monday.
@northbeach3 Yay for getting a transfer date!  Glad you have something to work towards and be excited about.

  • @suziev3 interesting about the t shaped uterus.. I’ve never heard of that! We transferred 1 as well!

We had transferred 2 embryos. Lost 1 at 8 weeks. So my husband was afraid to transfer 2 again.

  • @knottienj sorry to hear your cycle got cancelled.  My doctor believes medicated cycles lead to more positives.  Does your RE have a preference?
  • Thank you @rebelfirecpl, @madasm0530 , and @suziev - best of luck to all of you!   I am going to try and keep a positive attitude for Monday :)

Good luck to everyone still in the game! I’m rooting for you!
