Re: Symptoms week of 8/5

  • Am I the only one RAVENOUSLY hungry all the time?!? Geeze louise, my stomach is constantly growling. It's actually been quite a pain to keep myself fed regularly lol
  • Loading the player...
  • Also, the past few days I've just been real hungry and tired. Nothing else. Hope that's normal for 4.5 weeks. Most of the time I don't feel pregnant, I've been taking tests just reassure myself. I thought I wouldn't be so crazy the 2nd time around lol
  • @elmich3 oh yeah I'm definitely feeling hungry 24/7 right now. Give me all the carbs.

  • Lack of appetite, crying at everything, breasts are finally sore and heavy, nausea here and there, anxiety, paranoia and SEVERE back pain. I’m lucky though, because all of these things are off and on. And no vomiting yet!
  • @elmich3 @gollygeeitsamy I'm with you on the intense hunger!!!

Question: anyone have experience with breastfeeding while pregnant and not experiencing the "typical" pregnancy symptoms? I haven't looked into it/googled it, but maybe that's why I'm not experiencing the same symptoms this time as I was with DS.

... I just googled it and it doesn't look like breastfeeding lessens pregnancy symptoms. It may make fatigue worse. Just wanted to share the info!
  • @sdelg09 OMG the emotions. SO MANY EMOTIONS. My hormones are having a rave in my body, I'm convinced.

  • @gollygeeitsamy, you're killing me with the memes.  Sometimes my best friend and I have whole FB conversations just sending memes back and forth... it's awesome, haha.

@BarefootContessa,.  I think I'm going to use that when DH starts pointing out my mood swings.  "My emotions are having a rave, that's all."

  • @BarefootContessa if my hormones don’t stop I’m calling the cops and cutting the party off!

@luckywife10 I'm breastfeeding still, albeit down to naptime/bedtime only, and my symptoms are different this time. Insomnia, fatigue, and I'm reaaaally cantankerous (probably due to the first two symptoms :|). No nausea yet at least, but I'm desperate for some decent sleep.

  • Y’all I just had to run home from the park carrying my toddler so he didn’t poop his pants. I’m WIPED. OUT. The fatigue is real.

  • Hi all! I join many of you on the bloat  bus! And I have been having the craziest, intense, and vivid dreams!
Also... does anyone else have some nipple leakage? It's just a little on one side!
  • @MRDCle OMG. I feel ya sister. Goddamn potty training toddlers. I feel you deserve a treat.

@dapoint23, no nipple leakage here, they're just sore as all get out!  *TMI* I had to tell DH to leave them alone the other night already, haha.

  • @dapoint23 no leakage but I'm 100% with you on the bloat bus. I feel like I can't button my pants up right now without them being extremely tight and uncomfortable. I find that insane with only being a few weeks in.

  • Accidentally brushed my hand across my nipple really harshly today and almost yelped from the pain. This should be fun!  :o:o

Also can't tell if this is a weird craving or just because I am overrun with garden fresh cucumbers and cherry tomatoes right now, but I just HAD to have a sandwich on wheat with cream cheese, sliced cucumber, tomato and jarred green OLIVES. YUMMMMM.
  • @scp2585, right there with you.  DH also claims that my boobs look fuller and my nipples look bigger.  Not sure I agree, but they're definitely sensitive!

  • I'm actually strangely happy about the puking. It means things are doing something in there.  I have to wait until 8/29 for my first appointment and ultrasound. So I'll comfort myself with sore nipples and puking.
  • Wow did exhaustion hit me hard today!!! I kept myself from eating everything in the pantry and then passed out for 2 hours! Out cold!
  • I hear ya @dapoint23 I got got home from work and am laying on the couch sipping decaf coffee trying to fool myself into thinking it will have the effects of the real thing. I actually feel like a walking zombie right now.

  • Been having mild cramps most of the day nothing crazy. Just like barely noticable. Tired and hungry!
  • How do y’all cope with heartburn? I’ve had horrible heartburn for the last week, and it doesn’t help that I’m craving spicy foods :(
  • @nottodaysatan - I’ve had cramps too, so that makes me feel a lot better! I wasn’t sure what to make of it.
  • Mild cramps on and off today but have felt relatively normal, only a slight bit of nausea right before I left work but nothing too severe. I'm embracing the good day because there are not a ton.

  • My heartburn has been bad too, not matter what I eat. I have used tums when needed and try to avoid acidic and spicy foods even though I love them.
  • @sdelg09 Heartburn is my worst enemy when pregnant.  I get it really bad (to the the point of puking when trying to get anesthesia for delivery!).  Tums does nothing for me.  I have to take Zantac every day - my doc approved that.  I also found that drinking a bit of milk really helped when it felt like my insides where on fire.

  • The heartburn really does get terrible - I hope it doesn't last the whole time for you all!

  • Hi Ladies!
Sorry that some of you aren't feeling well.  My boobs are sore and I have some pelvic tenderness, but nothing major.  The worst symptom I have now is insomnia.  It is AWFUL! Can we take anything to help us sleep?
  • @mdmommymegs I think that Unisom is safe, but as always, best to confirm with your OB before taking anything.
    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers
  • @mdmommymegs I took Tylenol PM last time and that helped.  Definitely check with your doc first, but mine told me that was safe.

  • Unisom was a lifesaver during my last pregnancy
  • My issue is the opposite - I can't stay awake, ha.

  • @MRDCle, exhaustion is hitting me hard today too!  All I wanna do is take a nap.  Oh, and the trash smells absolutely vomit-inducing, so I think my sense of smell is kicking it up a notch also.

  • Anyone else getting little pings or zings on one of their sides?
Nothing like painful just a little shock for me on my left side.
  • @nottodaysatan I get quick little stabbing pains in my side when I'm dehydrated... Is that the kind of thing you mean? It took me a long time to figure out that association for myself.
  • @professormama it's more like in the ovary area. I drink so much water so I dont believe that would be it, maybe?
  • @nottodaysatan I have felt a few pangs in that area! 2 before my period was even late and 1 or 2 randomly since I got my BFP. I wasn't sure what it could be but I suspect I'm going to feel lots of things down there sooner or later. I had no implantation bleeding but could it be that?

Guess who already has pregnancy gingivitis  :'(
i noticed excessive bleeding with my waterpik this morning so I went to the dentist and they said my hormones are causing this so I have to come in every 4 months to prevent further damage. This didn’t happen with my first pregnancy. They also said it usually ( not always) happens later in the pregnancy, not as early as 5 weeks so can’t wait to see my ultrasound and have a more accurate due date! Maybe I’m further along than I thought  :|
