If you need me, I'll be in an endless cycle of sand, spackle, sand, repeat. All ding dong day. May even do some light paint touch ups (i know, i know). Project get this house sold.
Fun fun, @morgantu! I think a little painting is ok as long as you’re getting some fresh air often...don’t feel guilty!
@echo-charlietango my DD loves your Bitmoji! She saw it and goes, “is this egg, is this coffee, is this strawberry?!” When she doesn’t know a word she says, “is this this?!” and points to the item. I said, “that’s a waffle!” and she said “awful?!” I said, “that’s echo!” and she said “eggo?!” Kids, man.
As for us, we’re just sitting outside with bubbles and sidewalk chalk right now. MH took the trailer to go help our friend move and as he was leaving, DD said, “bye, Preston!!” instead of Daddy. We might go shopping or to a park or indoor play place later until nap time. Pretty exciting day here.
I have a weekend full of mundane house chores and I'm pretty excited about it because I don't have to be anywhere. Vacuuming, hanging laundry to dry outside, going to go get some fruit from a local farm, making dinner and cobbler, and hanging out with H.
Ugh. Didn't know where to put this, but I guess its random so this works.
Decided to go outside this morning with DS to let him play. (Its been 106 here in North Texas lately and it was only about 90 this morning).
I sat in our chair hammock that hangs from the ceiling on our porch. Well...it gave away and I fell HARD on my butt on the concrete. The pole hit my head. And good grief my butt and spine hurts from the impact.
I haven't been able to stop crying because I am so worried about the baby. I'm 16w5d. I know baby should be protected well from the amniatic fluid. But I'm worried about the placenta and all. Geez that scared the crap out of me. Can't decide if I should call the emergency line since it's the weekend or just wait and see if I start bleeding. I have a feeling that's what they would tell me to look for. (Based on google.) Great freaking start to my weekend.
@Whitmore1027 Falling is scary no matter how far along you are! If it makes you feel any better, my cousin fell really hard on her butt, from standing so like a 3-4 ft drop, on some ice last year when she was almost full term. Baby was totally fine! I think they told her that it you haven't hurt yourself significantly, then very likely the baby and everything around it is just fine! I wouldnt feel bad about calling if it makes you feel better, though! Hopefully you're just a little sore!
@hkom Yeah, I am trying not to worry too much since I am doing okay. Just a little bruised. The fall was a good 3 feet since it's a bit high up. That's awesome that your cousin was okay! It's especially scary being full term. I have read some things that say if you are in your 2nd trimester and beyond that it's best to call, but I am barely into the 2nd so that's why I was worried. But I am going to go ahead and call the on-call physician just for better peace of mind. It's been about an hour, and no bleeding or cramping, so I am sure I am fine. I feel stupid for even risking sitting in the chair but it's so comfy and relaxing. haha
@Whitmore1027 Bubbles and chalk for the win! It is so much cooler here this morning too...it’s a nice change. I’m so sorry about the fall and the worry it causes (I totally get it...PGAL brain), but so glad you’re not hurting. I’m glad you’re calling, it doesn’t hurt. I hope it can ease your mind!
@hkom Thanks, I think she’s pretty damn cute! Ooh, the local farm sounds fun, we might have to find one nearby too.
@hkom That's true! Lots of risks. Haha. Cobbler sounds amazing right now! @clbness I totally can't wait for fall/winter to get here. I haaate the heat!
Thanks ladies for the kind words. I did call the on-call doctor and she did help ease my worries. She said if I didn't hit my belly in the fall, that I should be just fine. However, if I do start cramping for bleeding to go to the hospital. I am sure I am fine, just still emotionally freaked. lol..
@Whitmore1027 I’m glad you got some reassurance from the nurse. It’s so hard not to worry when you cannot see what’s going on.
AFM I’m “helping” my sister move out of her college apartment and into her first big girl apartment. By helping, I mean chasing DS around. I’m so tired...
@Whitmore1027 so glad you're feeling a little better about it. I'm sure it was scary! I lifted a box of books this morning (like an idiot) and momentarily freaked as well. Every little thing that we'd normally not think twice about are on the list of things we need to be careful about! @katy0990 lol same with the projects here. I did the easy stuff I had planned on, now I'm at a loss for what giant thing to start and I'm already wiped!
@morgantu So true! We don't think about some things. I have ran my belly into door knobs, car doors and counters so much as it's gotten bigger because I am not used to it poking out so much. It's kind of funny. haha!
@Whitmore1027 I'm glad you're ok! I'm sure that was scary.
DH needed to do some things around the house and it was better if DD and I weren't here so we ran a couple errands and went to Burlington for a while. After we got back it was lunch and ( short) nap. Then we built DD her toddler bed. When we showed it to her she said " love it". Send us sleepy vibes tonight and hope she does well in it.
@gorgeousariel Good luck with the bed transition tonight! We’re hoping to make the switch very soon too.
@Whitmore1027 I’m glad you got some reassurance! I tend to freak out every time DD throws an elbow or knee into my belly. I’ll be ready when I can feel this one move more regularly...built in reassurance.
@Whitmore1027 I understand the scare of a fall. I fell hard when I was 3rd tri with ds2. I didn’t hit my belly. The sidewalk was uneven and I tripped and caught myself, but it hurt and scared me. Luckily our bodies do a good job of protecting baby inside. Hopefully you feel better soon. @PensiveCrayon what kind of underwear? Link? I have old maternity underwear (from ds1) and wear them sometimes, but my complaint is they don’t stay up well if exercising (even though they are soft).
Re: Belly bumps With DS, I was frantically cleaning prior to my induction (Rookie mistake. I should have said eff it and relaxed) and I ran into a cabinet handle. I had a huge scratch down the middle of my 40+ week pregnant belly. I felt so dumb since about 585 people commented about it at the hospital.
@morgantu Happy house-project weekend! @clbness I’m happy that YD loved my Bitmoji today, I’m all about breakfast variety @PensiveCrayon Those Intimate Portal mat panties show up often in my Suggested Items - maybe one day I’ll give them a go.
AFM, DH & I are finally relaxing in bed. We tried out a new-to-us coffee shop downtown, visited an estate sale, emptied more boxes, walked to a hipster burrito place for dinner with friends, saw The Hobbit (adapted as a play), then walked back home. Great Saturday all together!
Tomorrow we’re staying in entirely. DH has a yard to mow, and I’m gathering paperwork to #1 register the new car in TX, whilst #2 getting things ready to sell my old TX car here in AL. I’m already looking forward to taking DH out to a nice dinner with car cash

AFM, just trying to finish a script for a short film I'm considering trying to direct before this LO is born. But that all depends on when I can finish the script/how good I think it is, so I'm mostly going to be devoting all free time to that until it's done! Also, working through some potty training setbacks with DD, so hopefully devoting some extra attention to that this weekend can get us back on the right track!
Thanks everyone she did great! She went down no problem and didn't hear a peep out of her the whole night!
Now to the unexpected turn, FIL called DH saying he was having an anxiety/ panic attack. DH went over there for a while, but ultimately FIL came over to our house and spent the night. This morning he's still feeling weird so hes going to the walk in clinic soon.

@PensiveCrayon I actually never knew there was maternity underwear. That's so cool! I will have to look into that. I just wore my regular ones during my first pregnancy. Haha @gorgeousariel So glad your LO did well in the toddler bed! I am soo dreading that next stage. I am hoping to keep DS in a crib for at least another 6 months to 1 year! (He turns 2 next month).
@Jens_Hoes (and @Whitmore1027) for me they’re a necessity. I tend to gain lot of weight while pregnant and the waistband of my regular underwear folds down...super annoying. I also like these because they have a wide gusset, which somehow makes them even more comfortable.

You know how the baby kicking kinda feels like a muscle twitch? Well I just got a muscle twitch in my butt and got really confused about how the baby got down there to kick. I need a nap.
@gorgeousariel I hope your FIL is okay and that he goes in to get checked out.
@morgantu that made me lol. So disorienting getting used to all these different baby-related. sensations.
@PensiveCrayon@Jens_Hoes I never bothered with maternity underwear last time, and can’t imagine I will this time either. But I’m long-waisted and tend to carry higher, and all my favorite underwear isn’t really impacted by the growing bump. I imagine whether or not to maternity underwear depends a lot on where your bump is and how much it does annoying things with your usual underwear.
AFM, I had an awesome weekend that was both relaxing and productive in terns of household stuff. Finally made time for the mad nesting urges, and reorganized my wardrobe for maternity/postpartum wear. Cleared out most of the office, rearranged the furniture, and bought a new dresser for baby’s stuff/changing table. Made blueberry muffins. Played guessing games with my daughter who thinks it is the best thing ever. Ate breakfast on the porch. Did 8 loads of laundry (how tf is that even possible??) Ended the weekend with a family walk & stop for ice cream.
What a weekend. Hubby and I spent the weekend to see his mom, brother, SIL and niece. There's always drama. My MIL totally told his brother that we're having a girl (after I told my hubby not say anything for a while...they are extremey opinionated and pushy and I don't need all of that). Then of course the next question was "What's her name going to be?" I stepped in and said we hadn't even thought about it. We all knew it was a lie (lies! All lies!) but that's the one thing that's between me, DH and baby until she arrives. Of course, MIL launches into this thing about how she and part of her culture should be honored (she's Korean, DH is half Korean, half white). I just politely nodded and moved on. This is all a continuation from our wedding where she felt she should have been honored more. I tell you, there's always something. DH admitted that he should have kept his powder dry with all of this news. It's our first baby so we're both understandably excited but still. Both of our families are easily excitable and need some drama to thrive on. You can't give them good intel like this. It'll never end! LOLOLOL

Sorry I've been pretty much MIA this weekend, just busy and trying to focus on my DH and DS more. I'm starting to hit the guilt phase and was telling DH we need to do this and this with DS and make sure we don't push him aside with the new baby and all the house work we're doing, etc. So we were supposed to go to Dinosaurs Revealed downtown but our friends couldn't, so we'll do that next weekend. We did buy DS some new clothes and went out for ice cream, so I felt better after that. I also got DS1 and DS2 (this baby) matching shirt/onesie! I'm so excited to get them matching clothes lol. Not too matchy matchy, but I have to occasionally. We also cleaned DSs dresser and closet out today and packed up all his 18m winter clothes that won't fit this winter. Kind of a sad moment because I loved so many of his sweaters and long sleeve shirts last year!! But, that just gives me an excuse to go shopping in a couple months or so lol.
@gorgeousariel glad DD did so well in her new bed! Hope your FIL is doing okay!
@PensiveCrayon last pregnancy I bought some "granny panties" thinking they'd be great for pregnancy, then I hated them because they rolled down so much. Now I love them though lol. I've thought about making myself a pair or two of maternity underwear just to try them out. Does the waist band typically cross low in the front? That sounds like what I'd want honestly.
@morgantu yes to kicks feeling like muscle spasms/twitches!! I'll get them in my leg sometimes and remind myself 1, I wasn't pregnant (at the time) and 2, there's no baby in my leg whether I'm pregnant or not lol.
Speaking of baby kicks, DH felt baby kick for the first time!! He barely ever felt DS because of the anterior placenta, and partially because he was so nervous to be a parent sooner than we planned so he didn't engage much with the pregnancy, so I was super excited this weekend when he asked if he'd be able to feel baby yet! We managed to catch just the right time when baby gave a real strong kick.
@CecilB93 Sorry you’re feeling guilty at all, but I’m sure YS is enjoying the targeted one-on-one time

@Whitmore1027 hope you are feeling better. Falling is scary.
AFM we had a jammed packed weekend. Friday we looked at two more houses and decided to put in another offer on a house that I really like and was going back and forth. This house is in better condition and priced much better than the last house we offered on but it wasn’t in the exact location I wanted. We then had our association summer picnic which was a funny thing to attend right after signing. We only told a handful of close neighbors why we were late and I finally wore something tight to show off the bump. We left for our camp at bed time hoping DD would sleep the whole way there and through the night but that was an epic fail. As soon as DD saw Papa and her cousins she partied till 1am after a 2.5 hour nap.
Saturday was my DH’s family reunion. It was a blast and one of the first times I really missed having a beer. I haven’t laughed that hard in a really long time. DD skipped her nap and stayed up till 10pm. She finally fell asleep watching the fire and all the cousins took turns getting baby snuggles!! The whole family now knows about baby #2 and are thrilled/honored the baby’s first name is this families Surname!! once we got back to camp I was not able to sleep again. I randomly rechecked my email and saw a message from our realtor. I thought it was the offer or a counter and here he sent us one more house to look at that came on the market that day. Wouldn’t you know it’s perfect. Now I am panicked because I don’t know if I am under contract or if I am able to go see this house.
As soon as we got back in town we looked at the Perfect house (right location) and it exceeded all expectation. We had to wait out the other offer, they eventually countered. Still a great price and one we will accept if this perfect house doesn’t work out. We may be in a bidding war. So now I am here unable to sleep, again. I keep thinking about how I am going to decorate either houses. The first offer is such a good deal it’s crazy to think that 24 hours ago I would have been over the moon with this counter and now I am completely lost again in real estate hell.
Thanks everyone! FIL felt fine most of the day but it started to come back at night so he went to the clinic. Everything was good and they are running some blood work. He slept on our couch again last night. This sounds like the classic anxiety attack and my DH went through this a couple years ago. He was put on beta blockers which helped but he eventually changed positions at work and that cut out the stress almost 100%. As for FIL, my MIL has been gone almost 3 weeks and on Sunday she told us her final plans for her trip and she will be back Tuesday. I think knowing she will be back soon and he hasn't finished his "hunny do list" aka tile the back porch is stressing him out. MIL can be hard to be around sometimes. DH walked on eggshells growing up because he never knew what mood she was going to be in.
We only gave them 24 hours. I am not 100% sure if he sent it last night at 9:30 or was sending it first thing this morning. I thought It was too late to send it last night but the realtor didn’t. LOL
@gorgeousariel I’m glad he seems to be okay, but I’m sorry he is under that much stress. She sounds like my mom. Dealing with someone like that takes a lot out of you.

The first offer is such a good deal it’s crazy to think that 24 hours ago I would have been over the moon with this counter and now I am completely lost again in real estate hell.
@PensiveCrayon I love my maternity underwear! It’s so nice not trying to pull my regular panties up constantly and to avoid the panty line.
