  • @cass06_07 why would it increase risk of infection?

@kayjay44 seeing a PT who specializes in pelvic floor therapy can also be super helpful for pain management with SPD. They can teach you how to recruit the appropriate muscles for support and stabilization along with many other strategies. SPD is related to the quality of your pelvic floor as well. (I don’t know if you’ve ever dealt with it, I hope that you haven’t because it’s the worst thing about pregnancy for me, by far and I’m just waiting for it to read it’s ugly head again.)

The interesting thing for me the second time around was that I was doing kegels wrong - which I didn’t know and was essentially making my pelvic floor issues worse.

  • I am a shark week FREAK. I love everything about it. Chris Fallows ages like a fine wine. Lil Dickie riding around on his silly shark contraptions makes me smile. Devon with his dreads. So many teeth. So many terrible dramatic reenactments.

@cmjenkies, not sure.. dont they do internal stuff?  Im of the mindset right now that everything must stay away from my bits right now  :p
  • Thanks all for the feedback/well wishes. I’m feeling a little less shaken up now a few hours later, and still no cramping or bleeding. Anxiously awaiting my Tuesday appointment for sure though!

@madreofdragons I’m a sucker for a clearance price plus cartwheel, so I ended up with 4. But 4 under $50 is not bad, right? Pics in spoiler.

With my first PT for the SPD, we did not do any internal exams. She used ultrasound to track muscle contraction and verify quality of movements.

With my second PT for the pelvic floor dysfunction issues, we did internal exam at every appt, but they follow the same infection control standards as any physician office, and it’s not as though she is all the way up to the cervix or anything.

@danixbanani24 - I may have cried after eating it  :D DH thought that was hilarious. It was the best thing I’ve eaten in a month easily and the only thing that made me not feel remotely nauseous after eating.

@lokibear89 So glad that you gies are okay and that nothing serious happened! We had sort of a similar experience with our alarm company. We recently switched to installing our own security cameras, the ring floodlight cams. Now we monitor them from our phones and get alerted when some motion happens around our property. We can open it and see what's going on. If anyone is there, we can turn on the intercom and speak to them. That hasn't happened yet. Anyway, we both answer every alert so that one of us can call the police if there is anyone there. It also has an extremely loud alarm that we can sound if something is happening. It beats having to pay $45 a month for an alarm company to call us to ask if we want them to call the police lol
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

How I feel all of the time.

  • For those who like podcasts and also birth stories.  I found a great podcast called The Birth hour. Basically it's just a ton of different woman coming on and sharing their birth stories.  It's still early but I enjoy birth stories when I'm not pregnant so I am greatly enjoying it now.

Just wanted to share for those who might be interested.

DH complained yesterday that all we’ve had is pasta lately.

...I don’t care, we are having this :D
  • @conchispita - with my first, we ate so much pasta that DH got sick of it and started losing weight  :D
