  • Wow!! Such amazing news here. I love it!!
I’m at the point right now that I don’t want to be pregnant. I’m in so much pain it’s crazy. At ER they didn’t want to give me a cat scan or mri or pain killers and I need all of it. I can’t carry a baby like this. I’m actually getting a tad depressed because I’m completely useless right now. I can’t spend time with my daughter. I can’t work. I can’t do house chores. I can barely sleep or lay comfortably. I don’t know how I’m going to manage this. I’m going to see my regular doctor in a couple of hours and see what he says. I also have a super important work trip Monday and I may even have to cancel that if this doesn’t get better.
  • @Drove2u I'm so sorry you're having to go thru this right now :( Try to remember, it's only a temporary thing and you'll be healed soon! Hopefully, your normal doctor can help in some way to relieve some pain. Feel free to chat with all day / night until you get healed! Hopefully, we can be some form of a distraction for you. ((hugs))

  • @kristimh80 thanks so much.  You’re very sweet. While I know this isn’t permenant idk how long it will last. Weeks? Months? We don’t even know exactly what is going on here which is so frustrating. And I desperately need pain meds but of course that also doesn’t make me feel good to take them so I’m at a loss.
  • @Drove2u I’m sorry you’re feeling so poorly.  I don’t have the same problem but have a hematoma and am on similar restrictions.  I was taking Vicodin when I had my OHSS, RE said it was ok.  Can you take that?  Even just a small dose?  Or will Tylenol help?

  • @Drove2u ugh that sucks I’m so sorry you’re in so much pain! Have you talked to your dr about a muscle relaxer? That should help if it’s actually a strained muscle like they think. You could also go for more holistic relief, like acupuncture? Your body WILL heal itself, it’s just about finding relief until you get there. And I know how important work trips/events can be, but your self care is way more important than anything!
  • @mayflower513 were you pregnant at the time? The Er doc refused to give me anything stronger than Tylenol and Tylenol didn’t do anything at all. He told me to call my RE and see what he recommends. He said something stronger is fine but Er doc still wouldn’t prescribe. Re wouldn’t either since he didn’t treat me. Like what the hell? So now going to regular doc and hopefully he can help. I also don’t know what specialist to see because I don’t know what’s wrong. Everyone is wary because it’s still so early in preg. Er doc said if it was second trimester he would prescribe.
  • @leilee101 first congratulations. :-) how do you feel?
Re said I can take a little Valium. So I took a very small dose yesterday before bed. But he said not to take a lot or for a long period of time. Hoping there will be some relief in a couple of hours where I can at least pay attention to my daughter.
  • @drove2u I was pregnant, they said it was safe during pregnancy.  That’s frustrating.  Maybe your doctor today will be willing to prescribe you something.

  • @Drove2u sorry you are having issues right now. Hoping your gp can help you out to get some relief.
  • Did anyone get a massage in the days leading up to FET?
  • OMG the regular doc spent 45 minutes with me and didn’t do anything for me. He told me to get an ultrasound of my ribs ASAP like today at the same US tech place so I went there immediately after and they told me they don’t have an opening until aug 6. I walked out of there in tears because I’m just so frustrated at this point. Hoping to see a pain management doc at some point today but who knows now. I don’t understand why no one will prescribe me anything.
  • @Drove2u I'm so sorry!!!  :'(

@becca07024411 I didn't get a massage, besides the long one I paid for at my pedicure. Kind of wish I did a regular one just for the relaxation part.

  • @momifbysea thinking of you!!
im still kind Of in awe with how much good news is on this board. Lots of successes it looks like.
I wont be able to catch up with everyone of you and I feel like a terrible “friend.” But I read the posts and rooting for all of you.
The pain management doc finally prescribed me painkillers for just three days and I finally feel some relief. He’s making me cancel my trip next week. But I will make that decision by Friday. If it doesn’t get better by next week then I had to ask my RE if I can get a steroid injection. Praying that it’s safe to do that.
  • @leilee101 - Yayyyy! Congratulations! I can't believe all of the positive results rolling in on this board. It actually makes me feel a teeny bit hopeful.

@Drove2u - I'm so sorry you're dealing with this! I hate when I'm too incapacitated to pay attention to my son, and it's a shame that you also can't enjoy the fact that you are pregnant. I hope it gets better soon.

My lining check is tomorrow, and then the big day in a week! I start PIO Friday and I always struggle once that begins - I'll be tired and emotional and constipated. So I'm trying to enjoy my last few days of summer before that starts.

    @leilee101 - Great news!   Congrats!

@Drove2u -  <jaw dropping open>  I can't believe what you are going through!  That all just sounds
so terrible! What terrible timing for something like this to happen too. :'(

You won't believe this. I had my beta today and the phlebotomist assured me I'd be getting a call today. Well, I just walked in the door back in Kansas. Left at 8am this morning, had more spotting and feel like I'm starting my period. Anyway, planned to listen to the voicemail from the nurse together with DH tonight so I purposefully turned my phone off on the car ride home so I would ignore the call and then listen with him. Well, there's no voicemail, no email, and it's 6:30pm. I am shaking, nervous, feel like I'm starting AF, and had JUST peed when I ran through the door after holding it so now I can't test until 10:30 tonight. I have so many emotions right now I can't even.

I called the clinic just in case they were still there and of course they aren't and there's only an emergency call line but they state if it's not a true medical emergency that they ask you to call back during business hours the next day. Thanks for listening. My hope is fading.
  • @momifbysea like the TWW isn’t hard enough and now you have to wait another day. Ugh. I’m so sorry. That totally sucks. I would definetly POAS now if I were you just so you know. By this time it should show up even if it’ll be light at least you will know. But I feel for you. That’s happened to me once too. I also had period cramps when it was positive so don’t panic just yet. :-)

@Momifbysea Oh my goodness! I can't believe they'd just not call, esp for something like this. I always freak out because my clinic always calls at 3:30 for lab results. I agree with @Drove2u, least POAS may just tell you either way. Next time, push for them to let you go to a LabCorp close to your house...you shouldn't have to drive so far, when local labs can do it and fax over results right away. I'm so sorry you're going thru this right now  :'(

@amy8686 Exciting!!! But I agree, progesterone side effects stink! I find myself taking extra fiber these days for relief because probiotics alone do nothing. Hopefully your side effects will be minimal the time!

    @Chrysalis7 Thank you!

@lizy181 Checking in...hope everything today went well for you!

  • I called the staff member on call and it happened to be my doctor. He said a message had been left (but my phone was being strange and it has never come through). I could tell by his voice before he even said that it was negative. I am numb, angry, feeling like a failure, feeling really old, and just want to disappear. Nearly two years of treatment constantly to get this far. This was the furthest we got. We have one more embryo but I just need to process this right now. Sorry for this, but that's how I'm feeling right now and I needed to get it out.
  • @momifbysea I’m so so sorry. My heart hurts for you. Take the time to process this and have a glass of wine too. IF really does suck and it’s such a traumatizing experience. But you do still have an embryo left. Don’t give up! There is always hope!
  • Thanks @Drove2u. I am just in a really low place right now. Yes, IF really does suck.
  • @Momifbysea Sending all my love!!! ((HUGS)) I wish I could take the pain away, but I was just in your shoes not long ago and know exactly what you're feeling. Take as much time as you need to heal and grieve...it sucks so much. I'm here if you need anything whether it or if need someone to vent to.

@Momifbysea no words, I am so so sorry it was negative. Is your mom still there? I don’t care how old I get, having my mother there always makes things a little better. You will get there. Thinking of you ❤️

@amy8686  good luck tomorrow at lining check!!

@becca07024411 no massages but I did do acupuncture for the first time this cycle and I thought it was so silly going into it but it was honestly great most relaxing thing in the world!

@Drove2u ugh so sorry you’re not getting any answers after your appointment! Better to be cautious with prescriptions but still, so frustrating you can’t just enjoy being pregnant. I would demand an ultrasound if I were you, there’s got to be some place that can see you this week??

  • @Momifbysea - I'm so sorry. It's the worst, putting all of this work into the process and getting your hopes up, and coming away from it empty-handed. Take as much time as you need to be angry and sad... We are here to listen.

  • Thanks everyone. It means so much as other than my mom you guys are my only outlet to talk about this.
  • @Momifbysea You go through so much just to get to this point.  It's a terrible let down and I'm very sorry. I've been at this for two years myself and have had some serious heartbreak so I understand why you feel so low right now.  I am glad you have another blast and can hopefully give it another try soon.
  • @Momifbysea I am so sorry. I know there is nothing I can say to make this better for you but we are all here for you.

@Drove2u I can’t believe you were dealing with any kind of rib injury without real meds. The slightest rib injury can cause a good amount of pain since your ribs move every time you breathe. I am so sorry!

I am sorry I wasn’t more active yesterday. Work was incredibly busy and I left later than usual. I thankfully felt better yesterday but the crazy thing is that when I’m not having much cramping I then start wondering if little man is okay. I’m new to all of this and feel like maybe I’m going to spend the next 9 months in crazy mode.

In other news, although I know it’s super early, we signed up to be on waiting lists for daycares near our jobs. The waiting time in my area is over a year so we thought we might as well get on a couple of lists.  We’re also considering going the nanny route but need to look into it more. I’m Hispanic and would like to have a nanny fluent in Spanish if we go that route.

So many things to think about that I’m a bit overwhelmed.
  • @momifbysea I am so sorry for your disappointment.  Take time to recover, and we're here when you need us.  Hopefully, when you're ready, your next embaby will be the one.

@kristimh80 So many congrats to you.  You are such a source of comfort and light for so many on these boards and I'm so happy this was your cycle!!  ((Happy Hugs))

@drove2u I'm so glad you're able to get some relief today.  Hopefully the three days of meds is just what your body needs to heal.

@lizy181 You'll probably be crazy with worry for a while.  This infertility journey steals a little bit of the joy and replaces it with doubts - but it will get better.  Good luck with the daycare waitlists.

AFM: My second line has disappeared (8DP5DT) so it looks like Sunday/Monday results were the last of the HCG shot and this transfer is probably a fail.  We will know for sure Friday afternoon, but I'm not holding my breath.  This was our last snowbaby - so we'll be taking time off from infertility until November and then deciding our go forward plan.  DH brought up the option of a sperm donor last night which was previously off the table...I'm really not sure how I feel about that knowing we have the option of another IVF round (I don't want him to have any regrets)...but that's one of the things we can figure out in the next 3 months.  I may consider a counselor because I think we're both trying to protect each other and may need help sorting through the feelings.
