Does anyone else feel like their hormones never quite leveled out PP? My sex drive has never been so ridiculously hot and cold, and everything makes me cry still. The Dark Knight Rises was on the other day and I sobbed because it was so nice that Batman would be willing to sacrifice himself for Gotham
What can I do for teething?? We have 2 teeth coming in! I've given him a million different things to chew on(cold &room temp), but he screams after like 2 seconds. He's sleeping like crap especially naps. Nothing is pleasing him today!
My kid eats every 3 hours during the day, 5 oz bmilk bottles and we nurse and formula bottle before bed if she’s still hungry- last night she nursed and then had 6 oz of formula! Tonight, she fell asleep nursing, wouldn’t take bottle she was so tired.
My hormones are definitely not leveled out either at 4 months PP. I’m having almost constant headaches and mood fluctuations. My headaches haven’t been this bad since right before I took out my arm implant (that was the biggest factor behind removing it was the issues with headaches). But I’m not on any BC anymore (did a TL) so might have to look into something that’ll regulate me without making the headaches worse.
Also still hormonal. My skin is like teenager level breakouts lately. Ugh!
sgrn18 poor baby! sorry we don't seem to have much advice. Maybe distraction?
We never got the bottles I registered for, but someone gave us fancy ComoTomo bottles. They are 8 oz and medium flow, so I got them out to try the medium flow. today is 2nd day trying them and it seems good, but now she sucks too hard on the slow flow. Guess we are going shopping tomorrow.
I didnt try tylenol.. I'm an idiot. I thought it was just the one tooth at first, then it came through and we had a good day the following day. Then another one started popping through.
I did have to give him tylenol for a slight fever after his shots last week and he is not a fan, even mixed with breastmilk. His face was hilarious though.
As for the hormones, I still dont feel normal. And definitely having lots of breakouts which is really irritating.
@sgrn18 Someone got us a vibrating teether (looks like a strawberry) that maybe would help your LO? It vibrates when the baby bites down on it. N has trouble, so I push it down for her - she doesn't love it, but it's an interesting enough sensation to distract her from the pain.
Lord, Lord, LORD!!! Last night was day three of "sleep training" and wow! My LO is 19 weeks old and we had been co-sleeping up until now because it worked best for us with breast feeding. Anywho, the first two nights of sleep training were amazing! She went down and did not cry when I first put her in her bassinet. The first night, she woke up three times to eat and the second night she woke up two times to eat. But last night, homegirl was not having it! Lol. I put her down at 9pm, she woke up at 12:45 am. I fed her and put her back down with no problem and then she woke up again at 1:50 am. I fed her, put her back down, and she cried immediately. She cried in her bassinet for about 10 minutes or so and then soothed herself back to sleep. Buuuuuut she woke up about 20 minutes later. I came to the conclusion that teething was more than likely the culprit.
She was chewing on her little hands and REALLY fussy. So, we decided to give her a teething ring and a tiny tiny bit of baby tylenol and she settled down and went to sleep.
@fullofhope25 I feel for you. Ev has unpredictable sleeps, and I'm thinking it's teething as well. I'm trying to wean the nursing to sleep habit, but I'm sucker and love doing it as much as she does.
Anyway, she's been chewing her hands, too. It's gotta be teething.
For all the FTMs, everything will go in their mouths from their hands for the next year, once it starts it doesn’t stop until all those teeth come in so get used to they and the drool!
It’s the 4 month wakeful period too. They know cool stuff could be happening so they don’t want to sleep. Playing with your feet or chewing on your hands could be way cooler.
Guys, Nora has started reaching for our dogs and petting them herself, and it kiiiiiiiiiilllls me!! We also just set up her PNP in the kitchen and my oldest dog, who is weirdly afraid of kitchens, comes and sits right next to the PNP when N's in it. Babies and dogs are the best!!!
My LO actually did waaaaaay better last night! Slept for five hours straight in her bassinet, which is HUGE! Wooo hoo!! Lol.
I do not want to give baby E baby cereal. Does anyone know any healthier alternatives for baby's first food? We are planning to introduce solids when she turns six months.
@fullofhope25 we never do cereal. We pick a veggie to do first and go from there. Declans first food was cucumber because I was trying to eat and he was trying to steal my food. You can look in to baby lead weaning as an option too.
@fullofhope25 it will get better!! I've been sleep training for 11 weeks now and if you stay persistent it works wonderfully. He sleeps through the night now and it's so great. Invest in a white noise machine and a weighted sleep sack. We have the nested bean. He's been sleeping though the night since we got the vest and any time I turn on the white noise he knows it's time to sleep.
This 4 month wakeful period can go shove it. Last night LO woke up at 3 and stayed up talking and giggling for 2 hours! Then he started getting tired and lost his mind screaming and fighting sleep for another 30 mins until he passed out. Luckily today is my last day of clinical so I can be tired.. pretty sure the bags under my eyes are 16 inches long ay this point.
@sgrn18 So sorry to hear about your rough night! What happens if you let him be awake in his crib? Sometimes Vinny investigates the pattern on her sheet and talks to herself then drifts to sleep on her own. Not always, but it's worth trying for us.
I never know when my kid is awake in the mornings while I’m getting ready for work because she chills in her crib just minding her own business. My first born was complete opposite!
@fatstagnation I was letting him just hang out and talk to himself in the dark but he is so loud! Lol I didn't want to get up and play with him because I don't want to start a habit(don't even know if that's possible at this age). I brought him into bed with me after about 30 mins thinking it would make him sleepy but it didn't work. .i'm in survival mode until this ends!
sgrn18 - It's awful! I feel your pain. E woke up this morning at 6am an laughed and talked (VERY LOUDLY) in her bassinet for a little over an hour. Luckily I could sleep in but my fiance was getting his last little hour of sleep before having to get ready for work. But now, she is peacefully napping. Lol.
I wish we could leave him in his crib and play but he very quickly spins himself the wrong way and flips over and gets his legs caught in the slats. They it all goes downhill and anger ensues.
I already know the results weren’t good. I felt super sick and went home and took my blood sugar and it was 235 after 2 hours. Super bad. I have been working on eating better and have lost 5 pounds in the last week.
@DDRRT1982 It really isn't bad! The procedure isn't so painful, and you have a few days to eat pudding and take pain meds (I had mine removed pre-motherhood - so the pain meds may or may not work for you right now!). Good luck!

Also, I packed Nate's bag for his first day of daycare tomorrow and cried. I'm not ready at all.

Hang in there sarabeth5678!!!

Mccurleya, we use an app with white noise, BUT we will definitely try the weighted sleep sack!
@megpeg good luck! That stuff is awful!
Maybe be those last seven pounds will come off, lol.
@DDRRT1982 good luck!!
