Yay! Finally have an appointment! My doc does an early anatomy scan at 16–17 weeks and then the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. She thinks that if there are any issues, she wants to know early for any early intervention that can me done. Sooo.. i have an early anatomy scan on Wednesday and can’t wait!
@lexidawg and @hkom have fun at your ASs! Fingers crossed for all good news
@katy0990 isn't the waiting between appointments just the worst? Glad you get to check in on baby this week.
I just have a follow up with my endocrinologist to check on my thyroid levels and adjust meds if necessary. No more getting to see or hear baby until August. It feels like an eternity away.
Anatomy scan Tuesday morning! I am so excited I'm not even kicking myself that I scheduled it at the crack of dawn! (Okay, I'm *kind of* kicking myself because we also have to drop DD off at daycare first and the appointment and her daycare are on the opposite sides of town but oh well, haha.)
Hope your AS's go fantastic @hkom and @lexidawg and I hope your 16 week appointment is great too @katy0990 ! Best of luck with your endocrinologist @scaredunprepared - just had a check up with mine recently! Hope your levels are staying good and steady!
@maureenmce thank you! Have fun at your anatomy scan! I saw that your numbers were steady, which is excellent news, but it stinks you're still experiencing morning sickness, nausea, and bad reflux. Hopefully the doctors find a balance to keep you feeling well and your numbers steady.

Just got back from out anatomy scan! Everything with the baby measured perfectly and IT'S A BOY!!! It took forever because he didn't want to show his face at all.
My cervix was a little too short for the comfort of the ultrasound tech and doctor, so I have to get another one with the maternal fetal medicine doctors to see what they think. If they think it also looks short I'll probably have to go on progesterone for at least a while. Fingers crossed it just resolves itself but we'll see.
I have my normal doctors appointment on Friday. Probably the regular stuff. Maybe an ultrasound if my doctor feels like doing one, if not, then just heartbeat and measurement. I made the appointment in the morning so I'm hoping I'm in and out so I can get to work. I'll be 18 weeks and a few days. I've been so paranoid this pregnancy and couldn't wait until doctor appointments but now that baby boy is kicking me like crazy and I can see his movements and my husband can feel them on my stomach, I just have a huge weight lifted off my shoulder. Finally I'll be able to know that the baby is doing okay without having to get an ultrasound... sorry for ranting about that. haha

@hkom congrats on your baby boy!! So exiting. I have my anatomy scan like many of you this week too (Tuesday morning). I wish H could make it but he is working. I’m going to try and FaceTime some of the time with him.
I have my monthly appointment tomorrow (17 weeks). I always get anxious the night before an appointment! What are questions you all asked during 2nd trimester?? I always feel like I have so many and then get to the appointment and freeze up
@mkeys89 I had a 16 week appointment last week and asked a few questions. I always forget too. I should make a list on my phone notes or something. I asked about: sleeping on my side (I’m a back & stomach sleeper) and dying my hair blue again. I can’t remember if I asked anything else. It was a really brief appointment. They just checked my vitals, listened to the heartbeat, and asked if I had questions.
@mkeys89 I keep a running list of questions in my phone, that way if I ever have anything that pops into my head I can jot it down. Then when the doctor asks if I have questions, I can always pull it up if I can't think of anything off of the top of my head.
Anatomy scan tomorrow! Feels like forever since I’ve seen these little nuggets. But I start having appts every 2 weeks after this so I’ll be seeing them plenty! Lol
@hkom Yay! And good luck with the extra appointment - hopefully you won't have to take progesterone.
I have my appt tomorrow at 4 pm. I'm so excited to hear the heartbeat and see what else they check. I know we'll be scheduling the Anatomy Scan so that'll likely be within the next two weeks. (I'll be 17+5 at tomorrow's appointment.) It'll be another 2 weeks till we next check my thyroid levels, since I just got on a new level of synthroid 4 weeks ago.
I've been starting to feel bumps and nudges on a daily basis (I'm pretty sure, lol), so I'm not worried... but it sure is reassuring to hear a heartbeat!
@hkom Congrats on baby boy! Try not to stress too much about your next appt (this coming from a super neurotic). If you do have to take progesterone it should be no big deal besides feeling tired. A good friends wife has been on it her whole second pregnancy and she’s almost 31 weeks now and doing welll!
Just quick update from me from last weeks blood work - I tested negative for everything so yay! No autoimmune diseases for me.
@hkom I was on progesterone all of first tri and it’s not that bad as long as you take it at bedtime and are on a stool softener. I hope you don’t need it, but if you do, it’s really not that big of a deal!
Oh yeah! I forgot to tell y'all; they sent me home with the juice yesterday! I got to pick from fruit punch, lemon lime, or orange. I did orange last time so I stuck with that. It's currently in my fridge at work! Not looking forward to that!
Ugh I hate the glucose screening. I have another monthish until I have to do it I think (19+5). Just finishing up my anatomy scan. I went by myself, which was a bummer - I wish h could have made it. Everything looks good! They gave me one little photo. Baby was on my bladder so they had me pee again to maybe get him to move. He had no interest. It explains my need to pee though!
Got to see my little girl again (this time in 3D and 4D)! Got relatively positive news. They confirmed she has a cleft lip and palate, but the palate gap is only 4mm long, which I guess is very small. So it's not the worst case scenario and we likely won't have to worry about any of the more serious complications like hearing loss. We haven't met with the clinic that specifically deals with cleft yet, but I am encouraged that the treatment will likely be a little easier and quicker than I initially expected.
@ab_canada Happy that the cleft is small! It's so great that we can know about these things well before the baby is born - certainly makes early treatment plans possible
