@bpietronicco Funny, growing up, my grandma dated a guy with Honda Goldwing motorcycles. She was always like motorcycle granny riding around everywhere.
@Drove2u So exciting!!! I'm sure tomorrow will go great! You're finally at the homestretch!

@becca07024411 Hopefully your mom's birthday turns out to be good luck for you this year. I think my RE estimated a 5% improved implantation rate with endo scratch, but I'm not certain....there was something that improved implantation by 5%.
@bebesparrow sorry the mock transfer went rough. At least they are prepared now and know what to expect for transfer day. 2 weeks is SO CLOSE!!
@bpietronicco happy dance for another normal embryo!! So happy for you!
@j1006 Glad you hubby came to his senses on the motorcycle. My DH used to want one, but then he started watching youtube videos of accidents and I don't think I could get him on one now if I wrapped it up in a bow. Sometimes I think it would be fun to take country road trips on a motorcycle.
@drove2u NK is Natural Killer Cells, checking to see if my immune system is attacking the potential fetus. Again, a blood test I expect to come back normal. Have fun on your weekend away with meds in tow
AFM: Nothing new here, just waiting for next Friday's appointment. Did get our meds squared away, so those should be delivered today.
@amy8686 Welcome I’ll be later July as well so def stick around!
@J1006 I dated a guy who loved motorcycles and had quite a few , I mean something like the goldwing ( like @kristimh80 was talking about ) are pretty comfy to ride on back of but all the others I dont Feel comfortable on. But thank goodness your H realized how ridic it was, especially when you guys are trying for a baby.
@Drove2u YAY for your lining! I’m sure it’ll grow some more before next weeks transfer!
@bebesparrow Did they say why they where having such an issue getting it in?
AFM, been super busy all week getting my bosses retirement party together. It was last night and we all had a blast! Now I’m just nursing this hangover and got some relaxing to do!
@amy8686 Thanks for joining us. I will either be late July or into August, pending any other unexpected IF twists and turns. This IF journey can be so painful and have often thought about adoption as well. @bebesparrow I agree with @kristimh80 Valium takes the edge off. I don't know if you meditate, do yoga, acupuncture, but would some relaxation technique in the AM before your transfer help? @bpietronicco Congrats on your retested normal. What a relief to have another chance! @Drove2u That is great about your lining. Any tips? Anything you did differently this time? My lining only ever wants to get to 6.5 (I blame all the years of bc pills for that).
@suziev3 thanks!! I did absolutely nothing here. My lining had never been so great before. It’s also usually at a 6. The only difference this time is that I’m so much more relaxed. I’m not obsessing and stressing like I did the other times.
Got my blood results back and all looks good. Scheduled for transfer on Thursday!! Eeeeek!! I have to order my cheap preg tests from amazon soon. I’ll be testing like crazy and I don’t care!! Lol
@ndz2018 The doctor had trouble getting it because I have a sharp bend in my cervix. Last transfer for FET #1, which failed, took 45 minutes of them trying to thread the catheter through so they suggested I dilate my cervix to hopefully help in an easier transfer for the next one. Not sure if it was all that much easier for the doctor this time. Sigh.
@suziev3 For this FET, I'm doing acupuncture once a week and plan to have a session a day before and after the FET. I'm definitely going to try those guided meditation podcasts. I heard those were nice.
Had my first lining check today and for the first time ever since I started my fertility journey, my lining was below a 7. It is 6.3. My doctor wants me to start taking estrogen vaginally once at night in addition to the oral estrogen three times a day. Recheck for lining is on Tuesday, July 3. Did anyone drink raspberry tea leaf in a short period of time and have significant improvement? Thanks!
We got the call with the PGS results and out of the 9 sent off, 5 came back normal. Of the 5, 4 are boys and 1 is a girl. For the 4 abnormal there was no pattern. One was deletion 10, trisomy 8, trisomy 13, and one more something about 13 that I couldn't really understand what he was saying. I just asked to have the best one transferred and didn't ask which was what, so we will see!
@bebesparrow FX the extra / change in estrogen does the trick for you! I've heard some using Vitamin E to help thicken things up along with POM juice.
@suziev3 I agree with @Drove2u, I think relaxing helps so much!! For my ERA cycle my lining was up to a 12.4 on CD 15 and only thing I can think of is, I wasn't stressed and took Vitamin E. I've never had lining issues, but this was a decent amount higher than April's FET.

@bebesparrow I did drink RRL tea between baseline and lining check because they commented on how thin my living was at baseline and it worried me so I was trying anything to help, but I have no idea if it helped or not.
@becca07024411 - Congrats on the 5 normals! That's great to know what you're transferring a healthy one. And very likely a boy.
@J1006 - That's my style, lining up all of the first steps for adoption even before finishing this process! I'm so ready to be several steps ahead, but my husband really wants us to focus our energy here first. Sigh. I'm trying.
@Drove2u - I hear ya on dreading it taking multiple times. But it's good that you are in the mindset of realizing that it might take multiple times. Since my son happened on IVF #1, I just sort of felt like this one would happen on FET #1. I was not emotionally prepared for 4+ attempts!
By the way, when I was reading through earlier posts in this group, I remember one or two of you talking about the decision to just transfer 1, rather than 2... I just looked back and can't find it. Anyway, thanks for that. It was very helpful. I'm feeling a lot of pressure to transfer 2 this time, since I'm considering it my last shot, but I'm really terrified of a twin pregnancy. So it's always nice to hear any kind of affirmation about transferring just 1! I think in my heart that transferring 1 is the right choice for me.

@amy8686 I’m terrible at the waiting around part right now so focusing on adoption is helping me not go crazy
In regards to transferring one vs two...Do what you think is right for you! I’ve learned that I need to trust my gut with this kind of thing. Also, my husband is in the medical field and has always said that we should avoid a pregnancy with multiples if we can. I mean if you can’t avoid it, fine, but we also wouldn’t opt to transfer two. My RE also doesn’t transfer two at my age.
@bebesparrow I drank Pomegranate juice for my lining. I did it for, I think, my third IUI cycle and my doctor commented that my lining looked extra good. For my first FET, my lining was over 9 I believe. They wanted it at 6 and I was already at 6 at my first lining check. I drank one cup a day.
@amy8686 Always trust your gut and do what you feel right in regards of transferring 1 or 2. We originally thought we'd do 2 because I was ok with twin pregnancy. But in way, I'm glad we never did it after all.

@amy8686 the first ivf also worked the first time but it was after 6 iuis that weren’t successful. I feel like I probably won’t be as “lucky” this time.
@becca07024411 congrats on your 5 normals!! We have 5 normals too but the exact opposite, 4 girls and 1 boy lol! Are you guys going to pick a gender to transfer?
@bebesparrow Oh man! You did a hysteroscopy and they still had an issue? Also I would Def drink the tea, Pom juice, beet juice and whatever else you hear that may help build your lining... can’t hurt , right?
@amy8686 I agree with my girls, trust your gut! My doctor is actually very against transferring two.. I think more because they are PGS tested and more likely to implant. With multiples comes more complications for momma and babies....HOWEVER at the end of the day it’s you decision.
@Drove2u EEEKKK here we go!! So Close!! When do you start your PIO?
@amy8686 my RE is adamant that transferring 2 does not increase the odds of pregnancy in a healthy woman under 35 but it does increase the risk of twins. I even tried for it and he pushed back so I would trust the dr- I am also nervous about a twin pregnancy.
@becca07024411 that’s such good results! Congrats! Do you have any preference re: the gender??
@Drove2u congrats on the clear for transfer!! Start us off strong girl
I feel like im so behind and will get caught up soon! Thinking of all you ladies ... bring on July!!!
@Drove2u Thurs OMG! I am already stocked up on my wondfos so I will be testing up a storm when I finally get to my transfer. I have no shame. Ha! @bebesparrow Yeah, those guided meditations knock me right out! Great for insomnia. @becca07024411 5 normals is amazing! @kristimh80 So you take the vitamin E on top of the prenatal? Maybe I will try that since I never have. @amy8686 My doctor strongly suggests one for pgs tested, but does give people the option. The choice was easy for me because I have a t shaped uterus so there is just no room in the inn for two! I agree with going with the gut.
@Drove2u I had an 18 gauge to draw up the PIO and I believe a 22 gauge to inject. My nurse told me a trick that “blue is for you”. The little plastic part that connects to the syringe is pink for the drawing needle and blue for the injecting needles....at least for the ones they order for me. I would assume that’s standard. GL!!
@becca07024411 congrats on 5 normal! That’s fantastic!!!
AFM our RE will only transfer 1 if they are PGS tested and said it only increases the chance of pregnancy by 5 or so percent with 2. And there is a 2% chance that one embryo can split into 2. Got a horrible headache yesterday from the lupron. The FET process feels so much longer than the IVF process.
@Drove2u The 18 gauge is to draw it up there should be a 22 gauge to inject. If they didn’t give you the 22 gauge call you pharmacy ASAP and see if you can pick some up or Call the clinic and see if maybe they have some laying around?
Omg you guys!! I figured that out later. Lol. We’re away from the weekend and only brought the 18 gauge. So I’m stuck doing that tomorrow too. Sooo sore right now. Haha
@amy8686 I feel you on the transferring 1 vs 2. My RE prefers one typically and with PGS tested embryos they will not even allow you to transfer more than one. That was all fine with me since I only ever wanted
to transfer one at a time to begin with. I would be scared having 2 newborns at once and even more scared of a twin pregnancy, so even when we were doing IUIs we never did medicated because I didn’t want to produce more than one follicle, but all that is
a very personal choice and each person had to weigh the pros and cons.
@Drove2u good luck with your 18 gauge needles! Sounds like everyone else had 22 gauge injection needles….am I the only one with 25 gauge? Maybe that is why it takes for f’n ever to inject!
@ndz2018@leilee101 I told them to transfer whatever is best and we would be happy with either, which is true, but I really do hope I end up with a girl first. Growing up the oldest of 3 girls and around my
mom who is the oldest of 3 girls, and my grandmother and her sisters and cousins it had always been one big girl party and we always take family beach trips and vacations with just the girls, I guess I have always kinda envisioned sharing the same kind of
experience. Don’t get me wrong, I am so so so incredibly thankful to have 5 normals and I know either way whatever family I end up with I will feel like that is the family I was meant to have, but I don’t think there is anything wrong or unhealthy about having
slight preferences right now, because I know in the end I will love them all the same. Is that a normal feeling to have? I feel like I always hear people say they don’t care as long as they are healthy, which duhh, but does everyone really have zero preference
at all, even a little bit, or is that what they feel like they are supposed to say? But no, we are still not picking the gender, but especially now with only 1 female and never having had a successful transfer, I think it would make me way too stressed to
know that during the TWW like that was our only shot.
@becca07024411 I think that’s totally normal to envision certain aspects of our future babies. We always speak about which we would prefer and I always say I don’t care either way I just want a healthy baby, but I secretly hope for a little girl. Smart move tho not knowing which you transfer, especially with only one girl. What is meant to be will be, I truly believe that.
@Drove2u I accidentally injected one night with the the needle you draw up with and honestly didn’t even notice a different, so don’t stress about it. Enjoy your weekend away!!
You guys, totally tmi but vaginally inserting meds during bikini season is a total buzzkill
@suziev3 Yes, I take an extra 400 Vit E on top of Prenatal's. I've never been good at only taking 1 vitamin...lol
@Drove2u If there's a pharmacy near by, you might be able to speak with them. I know girls locally that weren't sent all their needles and was able to get get some from a pharmacist. They usually keep that stuff behind the counter. You PIO should have your RX info on it, so worth a shot (no pun intended lol)
@leilee101 So you're saying you're very "smurfy-like" right now

@becca07024411 I know exactly what you mean! Knowing that this may be our only shot at a boy( though DH keeps telling me we don’t know that he’s our only boy because we have 3 mosaic embryos that we don’t know the genders of yet) will def make th TWW a little harder but if it’s meant to be, it will be and if not they’ll be a whole lotta pink in our future.
@Drove2u OUCH! Can you call a pharmacy near where you are and see if they have any 22s?
@leilee101 YUP that’s my biggest fear with the endometrium inserts when I have to start them and the beach
As for transferring multiple embryos that are PGS tested my bff had 5 transfers and the last one was with 2 PGS tested and the only reason they even entertained it was because each transfer before that either ended in a TW Mc or a CP even when they transferred the 2 it ended in a Mc as well END TW. So there are definitely are certain circumstances that two can be transferred but it’s rare.
Wow you guys, so many votes for just one embryo! It seems like in a lot of clinics it's standard to do two. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in transferring one.
@becca07024411 - I've always been given the 22 gauge by default but I always ask them to substitute the 25 gauge because it's so much more comfortable for me. Yes, it takes forever, but I end up less sore the next day. I don't know if that's because the needle is smaller or (more likely) because putting the oil in slowly helps it distribute better.
@Drove2u - You are brave with the 18 gauge needle! I get sore just looking at that thing.
@bpietronicco - That Lupron headache is the worst. I usually get it a few days in, but thankfully it goes away. I guess my body gets used to it or something.

Sorry I’m not tagging peeps. I’ll just respond generally today. :-) so I have a bruise on my left butt cheek and another one on my right. They did give me the smaller needles but I didn’t pack them. I couldn’t get to a pharmacy either since the closest one was 45 minutes away and I was spending time with my parents all weekend. But I survived. Haha and tomorrow I’ll be using the smaller ones. As far as the transferring one or two. During my first successful ivf after six failed iuis me and DH decided to transfer two. The day of transfer the embryologist told us we have some high grade embryos and since it was our first ivf to just do one. Thank goodness we then chose one because it worked. And twins scare me so badly. The embryologist also said if the first transfer didn’t work then next time we could do two. WEre doing one this time as well. I’m getting a bit nervous because I’m traveling for work next week and idk how I’m going to do PIO myself. I know a lot of girls do it but I’ve never done it before. Four days till transfer!!
@Drove2u You can totally do the PIO yourself, trust me! I remember my hips were a little sore the first couple days, but after that is was a breeze (especially since your first were with huge needles!) After a week I could barely feel them at all anymore, in fact the couple I let my husband do actually ended up hurting way worse. Something I found that helped was doing it kinda fast so the needle goes through both layers at once and doesn't stall once it went through the first skin/fatty layer. I guess I am kinda a slow injector, but I accidentally did one way faster when I was in a hurry standing outside my car after a work dinner hoping no one would see me, and I realized it was one million times better that way!
@becca07024411 We decided to go for the best one either way and even though all 3 are good quality there is one that stands out as the best. Just so happens to be a girl and I will admit that I am excited about that. I think it's totally normal to have a preference, it's just that most people don't have a choice. I tell myself that I will try not to have too many preconceived notions about what this girl will be like. @leilee101@ndz2018 I hear you on the bikini issue. Summer and FET med prep don't mix! My doctor is putting me on patches instead and I'm not mad at all. @kristimh80 "Smurfy"? Been there done that. Where's the barf emoji !
AFM, just got my bloodwork back and my E2 is back down so we can start up again. Just gotta stop bc and wait for AF again. Then starting patches instead of pills so hopefully that will work out and we can still transfer by the end of the month. FX
@suziev3 YAY! That's exciting news! I hope your AF gets here soon so you don't have to wait too much longer

@drove2u yay for a good lining and good bloodwork and so many good wishes for this week's. So sorry for all the PIO needle drama. I can't imagine having to use those draw needles to inject. Ouch! We did something similar when out of town and packed one too few needles, but they just had me do an extra suppository that day...not nearly as rough as the draw needles. At least the smaller needles will seem like a relief now that you did it with the biggies. I did a couple of my injections myself and it wasn't that bad (actually I think I do a better job than DH, but it takes a bit of twisting that isn't really easy for me)
@bebesparrow hope your lining thickens up for tomorrow's appointment. The only thing I've done for my lining is the estrogen and Pom juice...not sure if the juice helps but the lining has always been good.
@becca07024411 congrats on the 5 normals. I think letting the doctor pick the best is a great idea in your situation.
@suziev3 great news! glad you're able to start back up again.
As for number to transfer. My doc highly recommends just one, agreeing with what others have said that two doesn't really improve your chances all that much and greatly increases the chance of multiples. For me too, I'd rather give each embryo their individual chance without a second potentially getting in the way.
As for preference, we have no shame admitting we would prefer a girl. Obviously we'll be over the moon with a boy too, but we really want a girl. It helps balance my extended family generation out (currently 2 girls, 3 boys) and my close friends group (2 girls, 3 boys) and we both have always just connected a little easier with girls.
@kristimh80 so smurfy lmao. Putting my favorite white bikini on hold until we are past all this for sure. 11mm is awesome!! Why are they having you wait a few days to start the PIO? @suziev3 that's awesome!! Do they have any idea why E2 kept shooting up yet? I'm assuming it was just the cyst and this means it's shrunk down by now. What a relief to finally get started!
Looking forward to a short work week and beautiful weather for the 4th! I just got back from cape cod and feel so relaxed, FET is wayyy easier than a fresh cycle so I hope that makes all the difference this time around. Question for you ladies: How do people feel about acupuncture? I went once before my IVF cycle, but it felt kind of silly to me and I was already dealing with soo many needles that I was like f this. Now that I'm onto FET, I'm gonna give it a shot again because I will take anything that can help with plumping up my lining. Will go 2x prior to transfer and then right after I think..
@leilee101 Smurf with a white bathing suit doesn’t sound fun! Lol it was only CD 12 today, and usually I start progesterone around 6 days before transfer. My embryos mainly at day 6, so prob has something to do with it. Plus in prior cycles esp my ERA showed that timing wasn’t correct for a receptive uterus

@kristimh80 - Congrats on the lining! I always used to take those appointments for granted, but after having one cycle canceled because I didn't respond correctly, it now seems like a bigger deal to have good lining.
@leilee101 - I did acupuncture with my fresh cycle (the one that worked) and I haven't done it since. I really didn't enjoy it. Like you said, MORE NEEDLES. Also I'm not good at lying still and relaxing. The advice I've generally read is that it's helpful if one finds it relaxing, and since I don't, I'm saving my time and money and skipping it these days. That said, maybe acupuncture was the reason my fresh cycle was successful and nothing has worked since then!

@becca07024411 that’s such good results! Congrats! Do you have any preference re: the gender??
@Drove2u congrats on the clear for transfer!! Start us off strong girl
I feel like im so behind and will get caught up soon! Thinking of all you ladies ... bring on July!!!
@bebesparrow Yeah, those guided meditations knock me right out! Great for insomnia.
@becca07024411 5 normals is amazing!
@suziev3 those are the ones I get too!! Wondfos.
AFM
our RE will only transfer 1 if they are PGS tested and said it only increases the chance of pregnancy by 5 or so percent with 2. And there is a 2% chance that one embryo can split into 2. Got a horrible headache yesterday from the lupron. The FET process feels so much longer than the IVF process.
@amy8686 I feel you on the transferring 1 vs 2. My RE prefers one typically and with PGS tested embryos they will not even allow you to transfer more than one. That was all fine with me since I only ever wanted to transfer one at a time to begin with. I would be scared having 2 newborns at once and even more scared of a twin pregnancy, so even when we were doing IUIs we never did medicated because I didn’t want to produce more than one follicle, but all that is a very personal choice and each person had to weigh the pros and cons.
@Drove2u good luck with your 18 gauge needles! Sounds like everyone else had 22 gauge injection needles….am I the only one with 25 gauge? Maybe that is why it takes for f’n ever to inject!
@ndz2018 @leilee101 I told them to transfer whatever is best and we would be happy with either, which is true, but I really do hope I end up with a girl first. Growing up the oldest of 3 girls and around my mom who is the oldest of 3 girls, and my grandmother and her sisters and cousins it had always been one big girl party and we always take family beach trips and vacations with just the girls, I guess I have always kinda envisioned sharing the same kind of experience. Don’t get me wrong, I am so so so incredibly thankful to have 5 normals and I know either way whatever family I end up with I will feel like that is the family I was meant to have, but I don’t think there is anything wrong or unhealthy about having slight preferences right now, because I know in the end I will love them all the same. Is that a normal feeling to have? I feel like I always hear people say they don’t care as long as they are healthy, which duhh, but does everyone really have zero preference at all, even a little bit, or is that what they feel like they are supposed to say? But no, we are still not picking the gender, but especially now with only 1 female and never having had a successful transfer, I think it would make me way too stressed to know that during the TWW like that was our only shot.
@Drove2u I accidentally injected one night with the the needle you draw up with and honestly didn’t even notice a different, so don’t stress about it. Enjoy your weekend away!!
You guys, totally tmi but vaginally inserting meds during bikini season is a total buzzkill
@leilee101 So you're saying you're very "smurfy-like" right now

I guess my body gets used to it or something.

so I have a bruise on my left butt cheek and another one on my right.
@leilee101 @ndz2018 I hear you on the bikini issue. Summer and FET med prep don't mix! My doctor is putting me on patches instead and I'm not mad at all.
@kristimh80 "Smurfy"? Been there done that. Where's the barf emoji
AFM, just got my bloodwork back and my E2 is back down so we can start up again. Just gotta stop bc and wait for AF again. Then starting patches instead of pills so hopefully that will work out and we can still transfer by the end of the month. FX
