@fatstagnation my husband complained about the same thing.  He kept asking me to do some chores but they wouldn't be done when he got home and he'd get all pissy ( it's like come on I haven't eaten all day and you wanted me to do the dishes instead of feed myself??). Well he had all these plans last weekend when I was at clinical rotations for 12 hours. I came home and nothing was done, he immediately passed over the baby, grabbed a beer, and went in the garage for an hour before he came back in. So far he hasn't said anything since about my lack of cleaning.   I think sometimes they just dont understand exactly what we do all day.

When DH says "let's go to bed," I say, "Yeah, I'll just wash some bottles for the third time today." haha I've noticed he's washing dishes and picking up now.

He's lucky I'm still madly in love with him. LOL

and another random - LO is 12 weeks today! I wanted to take a pic to send out to fam and post to HDBD, but baby needs a bath and when I did take a pic you could clearly see a spit up stain. So sleep deprived! I was kinda afraid to give her a bath cause I"m out of it and she's more wiggly these days. I was like - how bout more tummy time? let's just hang out on the floor so I can't drop you. ;)

I don’t let the house get really messy, but I leave the major clean for right before my husband gets home.  He has about a 45 minute commute and when he calls me to tell me he’s on his way home is when we rush around straightening up.  It’s win-win in the fact that the house looks ok before he gets home and I am not spending my day doing the same boring shit over and over again.

On a more serious note, I participate as much as I can in minimalism.  Toys, decorations, clothing, dishes, etc are at the bare minimum.  The less I have to pick up and organize the easier it is to actually clean.  If you are feeling overwhelmed by all the stuff and lack of organization minimalism can help.

@DDRRT1982 I started following a minimalist mom on Instagram to get some inspiration. :)

Okay, ladies: does sex get less painful?  I'm 18 weeks PP (had some extensive 2nd degree tearing) - sex is good (if not better than) pre-baby in some ways, but certain positions are TERRIBLE. Anyone experience the same thing?  How long did it take to get better (please say it gets better!)?
  • Options
@ashtuesday I don’t have an answer - MH is working 7 days a week so that’s just not happening right now LOL. But I’m sure it must get better the more time...??

Randomly - are our hormones still in flux? LO was EFF but I’ve noticed I still have times were I get emotional when I wouldn’t before being pregnant. It could be my period or that I’m back at work full time and frustrated there - but just wondering.
  • Options
@shoretobe my emotions are wacky still too. A little worse actually, but I just started birth control last week so it may be that.
  • Options
I started birth control as well - so @mccurleya could be on to something.

@shoretobe & @mccurleya - add me to the still emotional and back on BC list!

I’m very emotional and not on BC.  I have such a hard time with time flying by.
  • Options
I am super emotional right now and not on BC (had a TL). But I’m working long hours at both my jobs (between 50-60 hours per week of actual work, not including my lunches) and not seeing the girls much.
Due to my long hours and sheer exhaustion, sex isn’t really happening much here either but when it does happen, it’s not painful. With DD1, pain with sex went away at about 9 or 10 weeks (we waited until 8.5 weeks PP due to a moderate tear). That wasn’t applicable this time due to a breech CS.
  • Options
@maelily15 I’m sorry. I can only imagine how exhausting it is having to work so much.

I went to Babies R Us for the last time today. I did end up getting an ergo baby 360 for $90. I decided that the ktan was good but not exactly supportive.

@megpeg I’ve been going to Babies R Us once a week for the past couple to check out the deals. I purchased two Chicco Nextfit Zip car seats for 40% off! I’m going to stop by for a finally time this weekend to possibly pick up a jogging stroller. I worked at Toys R Us while I was in high school and it was one of the best jobs I ever had.

Today was a rough day for me...I applied for a promotion in my department at work and didn’t get. A guy that’s been there half as long as me, that I trained, got it. I was concerned that I wouldn’t get it because the director is know for favoring men over women and I think having my first child factored into their decision. I was someone that worked 50+ hours a week but had to cut back to 40/45+ due to the pregnancy. I’m currently snuggling with Jeffrey remembering how lucky I am just to have him. Everything happens for a reason I guess.....

@bexster05 that stinks but maybe it will be for the best.  You might have been miserable not getting to spend time with Jeffrey.

I am now disappointed in my purchase because it was ticketed as a Omni 360 and is only an adapt. I am kind of bummed. I wanted a 360 so he could face out or I would have got the mesh adapt that was there. So I paid 15 more than the mesh one and got what should have been 15 less. I know they probably can’t do anything so, oh well I guess.

@bexster05 that is so frustrating. MH keeps telling me something better will turn up for me. I hope it does for you too.

Today was DDs first day at daycare (been with grandma for the past 3 weeks while I started back at work) and she was out by 6:30.  I got a solid 1 hour in with her.  I really don’t mind sending my almost 3 year old to daycare, but babies?  Wish we were all given longer maternity leave.  I’ve thought about taking a year off, my work would hire me back, but I feel like coming back to that life would be hard after time off.  1 hour with your kiddo isn’t long enough!

@shoretobe, thank you. It’s just kinda crazy at my jobs right now but it’ll let up soon.

@slr1229 I'm dreading going back to work in August for that reason. I'll only get to breast feed him once and see him for a couple hours before bed. I'm so sad about it and it's only June

Ugh enjoy the summer with that baby.  I’m making a pro con list today at work. Every time I talk to my Mom she says “I just think babies should be with their Mommas” and yes I agree.  Both roles have their challenges...

@sgrn18 he bites my knuckles and it hurts. I think I felt something sharp the other day but his gums are so swollen I don’t see any thing.

@megpeg I dont feel anything either.  I can tell its affecting his sleep, he keeps waking up pissed that the pacifier isnt in his mouth.  We played the game of he spits it out I put it back for about an hour last night till he really fell asleep.

We are in the same boat @megpeg & @sgrn18

I just woke up because Declan was making his normal I need a bottle noise in his crib. I look over to find him side ways, rolled on his belly, and his legs are stuck through the crib slats.

    @megpeg oh no! I hope he's alright.
  • Options
@megpeg, mine does that too! I know I put her down parallel to the front yesterday. When I came back in about an hour later, she was parallel to the sides. Their legs are still so small to fit between the slats. Just asking because I genuinely don’t remember, are the mesh bumper pads considered safe or are they a no go like the solid ones? I never needed them for DD1 cuz she slept like a rock but pretty sure Luna is also in the teething boat because she’s not sleeping through the night anymore and is drooling a lot.

@maelily15 I plan on getting mesh ones.

Confession...I have been working extra hard to keep my supply up bc I am donating, but also bc I don’t want my cycle to return.  I usually start to ovulate again around 4 months PP, but am hopeful that I can keep it away.  I don’t really mind the period it’s the hormones, breakouts, and supply dips I hate.
  • Options
@maelily15 the AAP recommends not using any bumpers whatsoever.   It's definitely something left to the parents discretion and judgment.   I swore I'd never use even the mesh ones but my first son was routinely getting his foot/leg caught and twisted  between the slats.  I'm going to see how our new guy does before I decide to do the mesh bumpers again but I'm not against it.

@DDRRT1982, your supply dips when on your period!?

Is anyone going through stranger danger or maybe it was just over stimulation. I am not sure whether it was that we were at a loud restaurant then a graduation party or just that he didn’t like other people. Today he was fine with the party at our own house but there were only 20 people.

Yes, after I ovulate there is a considerable dip.  My supply improves once my period starts and the progesterone leaves my system, but it never comes back in the same volume.  With each period my supply dips more and more.

@megpeg Yes to stranger danger (that could've also been overstim). Went to my mom's with some family and N was so overwhelmed at first, she only wanted to be with me. She's usually very social, so that was a first!

So we give Luna lots of tummy time (multiple times a day) plus when she’s awake, alert, and tired of tummy time she likes to be sitting upright. But she’s got this sizable bald spot in the back of her head where she sleeps/leans against the car seat. She even turns her head while she sleeps so it’s not always touching the mattress in that one spot. It looks like somebody used hair trimmers on just that section. Anybody else’s baby having this problem?
  • Options
    sgrn18sgrn18 member
@maelily15 we have the bald spot too! Though he doesnt have as much hair so it isnt so prominent.  It's like a bald spot ring around to the sides of his head if that makes sense lol.
  • Options
@maelily15 yes we have the same bald strip and have for a while. Ha! I’d take a picture but she’s down for the night.

I just saw on my main page an article about the 4 month wakeful period. I am so not ready for that. He is probably going to though now that he is rolling and starting to scoot. Why is growing up so fast?
@ashtuesday the worst part was he only wanted DH- I tried to take him and he started screaming again.
