    Yay for FET dates!!

well I’m officially out of July maybe even August. My hysteroscopy couldn’t get scheduled until July 17th. So now I’m on BCP starting Friday until July 16th. Hysteroscopy on the 17th and wait for CD1. Then I start everything for FET so I’m thinking late August, early September.  I will still be hanging around here cheering all of you on!!

  • @drove2u bummer you have to cancel plans, but it's so nice when things get scheduled.  At least you're a few weeks in advance.

@kristimh80 again, Yay for a firm schedule.  I can't believe how close July is!!

@bebesparrow Bummer that you have to do PIO, but hopefully it treats you better than the last round.

AFM: Feeling fine today, can't believe something was scraped out of my uterus because I have absolutely no cramping still.  The clinic left a message this morning asking if I still want to do a July transfer...so I don't know what their plan is, but I'm on board if they are.  Waiting for the call back to figure out how that timing might work.

  • @Drove2u Party time!! I need to look into baby aspirin. My doctor has never said anything about it, but it seems harmless.

@J1006 Having a plan some times is what you need to keep it moving! I was already planning to wait til July for AF as well and even asked...are you sure I don't need to wait? Idk why I started having my mind there!

@ChristenMA83 Exciting!! I was the same way for my biopsy, soon as it was over, it was like nothing. I will say AF after was not as fun, but was happy to have a normal one for once after IVF made them strange.

  • Hey everyone! I haven't been on here in about a week - we are still living in boxes but at least everything's into the new house and we had the walk-through of the old rental house so I can focus now on the FET, work, and the new house! A couple of updates...my FET will be July 12. My RE called me Monday to discuss my question about the possibility of doing an ERA and he got pretty defensive it seemed like. He said that they never do them, that his partner had done one after someone had multiple failed FETs but that he's never done one. I cited the literature and that 18-25% need a different timing. It sounded like he knew the authors (he goes to all the conferences) and said "well, they like to blow up their data" and that, while there was great hope that the test would help more people, the reality is that it's rare that this is the case. I am trusting him and going forward with the FET but I left the call not 100% feeling great about it. On the other hand, I have to say I'm excited that it will be so soon. My family is all praying for this to work. He estimates about a 60% chance for us, but did say that because of my age, implantation of even a healthy embryo is less common than younger women. So I'm trying to be hopeful yet realistic.

I have read most posts since I was last on here - @Drove2u congrats on having a date and for leading us off for July!

@kristimh80 July 10 so you're just 2 days ahead of me. Hoping for some great results for all of us!

@ChristenMA83 and @madasm0530 glad you're hanging around even though you're looking at August now.

Thanks @kristimh80 for the PIO tips as I'm getting a little nervous about what those will be like. Whoever said to have the nurse draw targets...that was a great idea, I think I'll do that.

General newbie question...does anyone know how many days after FET you have the beta tests? I will be driving out of state several hours for each of these appointments because that's the only clinic where I have insurance coverage, so I'm trying to plan out my trips. Thanks in advance!

  • @Momifbysea Glad you'll be so close in timing with me! Sorry you felt that way after discussing the ERA. Honestly, it is such a new thing still so there probably isn't a ton of data that doctors really rely on yet. Mine even came back as receptive regardless of a pgs normal embryo failing to implant...so who knows really! Try not to stress too much over that alone.I learned after the last time, it's all really out of my control at this point. My nurse draws targets for PIO...makes it so much easier!! I believe my April cycle I was WAY off!

  • @kristimh80 thank you for your reassurance, I am at a place right now where I'm feeling so 'old' and like my odds aren't great, so I think it's just so much anxiety I'm having over knowing it's just these two embryos that we have to work with. Kinda stressful to put it lightly! But I probably will have better odds if I try and chill out, so I will do my best, promise. That's interesting about how your test came back. So do they have any other ideas of what potentially could have happened?
  • @Momifbysea I totally get it! I'm no spring chicken either :) Plus this is our last embryo, so I just keep telling myself to stay calm and just enjoy things for the time being. Last time, I was so into it all...trying to do all the wives tales, etc. So I'm telling myself this time to relax, enjoy the process and know I have no real control anymore. There was nothing they could say. PGS doesn't guarantee anything either, sadly.

  • @kristimh80 yes, good advice for us both to try and relax! I will feel much much better once I get this NY trip out  of the way, as my MIL and my brother in-law (who lives with her) can be stressful to be around and sometimes there's a ton of tension and just weirdness and things said that are NOT cool, so yes, I will relax a ton after a week from tomorrow and that little chapter is over, haha. I do wish PGS was a guarantee, but my doc reminded me that 60% versus the 4-6% odds each IVF cycle that we were facing during retrieval was a huge positive difference so I will focus on that.

@momifbysea glad to hear you'll be moving forward sooner rather than later and have a date.  My first beta was 10 days after FET.  Most people I've seen do follow-ups every two days after that, but for some reason, my clinic spaced beta 2 and 3 across like 2 weeks time.  Would it be possible to have a blood test done closer to you? I think most blood labs should be able to handle the HCG testing.  Are you transferring one or two embryos?

AFM: I am now tentatively on the schedule for July 17th assuming tests come back normal.  The nurse is going to confirm with the doctor tomorrow and I should expect my med schedule by the end of the week.  Not sure if they're planning to delay my next cycle for the transfer or speed this one up...guess I'll know more by Friday.  My drawn-out wait now seems to be in hyperdrive, but I won't be surprised if he ends up pushing me to August...she also said they're very busy in July with a lot of transfer and trying to get them all scheduled in....I'm wondering if she jumped the gun on calling me.

Edited to Add: If we do transfer on the 17th and it's successful, the due date will be my dad's birthday  <3

@ChristenMA83 FX so hard that this is successful! It would be great to have your Dad and babe share the same bday! :)

AFM, I start BC today! Tentative transfer is 8/2, so I'll be August but not by as much as I thought I'd be!

  • kristimh80 that is one big family you have there. How are your holidays? Haha are they huge? I updated some things in the spreadsheet. Thanks for the reminders as always. I’m excited that our transfers are so close together! Do you think you will be testing? I will be as soon as I can. Ha!  Yeah I had to take baby aspirin last time too. ****TW One of my coworkers who now has a 15 year old son said she couldn’t conceive and kept having miscarriages and then her doc suggested baby aspirin. After a month, she got pregnant naturally. ****END TW I still have no idea why or what it does. I also don’t know what estrace does. It’s estrogen, right? My estrogen always seems fine so I don’t know why I have to take that. I know, I know, questions I should ask the RE Lol.

bebesparrow sorry you have to do PIO but it’s really not all that bad. Especially when it gets you your end result. J and yay for July 9!!

ndz2018 did you end up spotting from forgetting BCP?

madasm0530 I agree. Might as well be july! Stay in our group!!

ChristenMA83 that’s great that they found and removed the scar tissue before you actually started. Now you can go into this knowing everything is good. I’m really curious to hear about your NK panels too so please stay around.  When do you find out if you keep your July date?

J1006 sorry you got delayed a little but that’s ok!!! We will be cheering you on as well!!

Momifbysea congrats on the move!! That’s so exciting!! And for an FET date…whooo hooo! Moving right along!  My beta test is already scheduled and it’s 9 days after the transfer. Last time ***TW*** I started to test 5 days after transfer and was getting BFPs ***END TW***  I also feel pretty old. Sometimes I wonder if I will have the energy to do all of this. Haha  But I do. And I will, of course!  Keep us updated on your NY trip too!!

AFM: Got my blood test results back today after baseline and everything looks good. I can’t remember if I updated already or not. Sorry if it’s a double post. I’m on 2mg Estrace and baby aspirin until 6/25 when I go in for BW and US. And then they up my Estrace to 3mg. I start PIO and Medrol on 6/30.

  • @Drove2u Holidays are all over the place...half are here in Texas and others in DC. So randomly we'll see them...luckily not always all at once or it would be a zoo! Estrace is estrogen. Estrogen keeps you from ovulating and helps thicken your lining for your FET. I've never had an issue with estrogen either, but I do like being on it. lol Idk if I'll test yet...since it's my last embryo...I'm gonna try to enjoy the process and not let it stress me or be so anal as I was the last time. I'd rather live in bliss for the moment in case it doesn't work again and I'm SOL. I remember well the heartache of last time, so unless I get some definite sign of things working, I'm not going to beat myself up.

  • @kristimh80 haha I was going to say—a zoo!! But that’s great to have such a big family.
Thanks for the estrace info. I definetly have problems with my lining typically. Hoping this helps. I always admire those who don’t test. Haha I can never hold out and just rather know sooner than later. My beta is scheduled for a Saturday and it’ll have to be in the office 45
min from me so I’ll probably ask if they can either test me Friday or the following Monday.
  • @Drove2u Shockingly, no spotting! Are you only on 2mgs of Estrace/Estradriol( same thing) once a day? I think I will be starting 2mg twice a day then they move me up to 2mg 3 times a day after about a week or so.

@madasm0530  YES!! You’ll be doing all your prepping in July stay with us ;)

  • @Momifbysea My RE told me the same thing about a 60% chance with PGS tested embryos as well BUT she also explained that if the first one failed the second one its like an 83% chance and by the 3rd time the percentage is in the 90s. But my guess is yours will take on the first go around! You've been through so much to get these lil embryos and I truly believe that you didn't go through all those retrievals just to have the first fail. All my love and light to you and your little embryos :)<3!!

@madasm0530 and @kristimh80 YAAASSS! I already have a plans for the beach, date night and drinks this weekend :) and I'm thinking of taking a few days off the 4th of July week and just stay at the shore house to soak up some sun and have some me time.. DH has to work that week (except the 4th obvi) BUT he can meet me there when he's done! its only an hour from his office/our house up north.
  • @ndz2018 I agree with pp, if it's meant to be delayed, then just enjoy this time. Your shore house sounds amazing! Curious, did your dr explain why the second one has the 83% chance? Oh wait, maybe she meant cumulatively that after 2 FETs, your chance of success with one of them working would go up, duh!

@ChristenMA83 YAY!!!!! for your transfer date! Crossing everything for you! Seems like a lot of women on here have more monitoring than my clinic does, interesting. I just have the ultrasound lining check and lab draw one week prior to the FET.

@Drove2u good for you on the baseline and thinking of you!

Tonight I pack for the NY trip because we have a super early flight Saturday and I don't want to be up late Friday or I'll be a mess! After we land we have a 4 hour drive (don't ask...we have two destinations while we're there so picked flights in and out of the cheapest, so we'll drive on that first day and then when we leave we're already in Rochester so that part coming home will be easy). I'm trying to be positive about it and relax before this FET. My excitement is really kicking in now! Up to 3 Estrace a day and trying so hard not to forget or be late on them (I've been a few hours late a couple times now because it's hard to remember 3 times a day). My SIL suggested icing for the PIOs versus heat, she said they never heat things to be injected at the hospital because of molecular changes that occur, but she said just check with my clinic's nurse to make sure since she wasn't familiar obviously with this particular injection. I'll ask when I go in on the 5th.

  • @Momifbysea Hope your trip ends up going well and your MIL is a lot better than you are planning! That's interesting about icing and PIO...I always ready where some people got lumps under their skin and issues when they tried to ice the area. So I never do..it's all in oil and doesn't need to be in the fridge anyways. I don't heat it up very long...it sits in the heating pad for like 10 seconds because I'm impatient! LOL I have alarms set on my phone for all my estrogen pills so I never forget. Worst part if remembering to take the actual pills to work with me!

  • @Momifbysea Not sure if it was exactly 83% but it was around there... also didn’t ask why but more likely it’s the chances go up the more you transfer. I’ve heard of people icing before the shot so it doesn’t hurt, but I can Tell you that they don’t hurt that bad and you can always use a topical numbing cream. The heat is to help the oil thin out and make it easier to go in and easier to disperse in that muscle as it’s closer to the temp of your body. It’s pretty thick!
  • @ndz2018 @kristimh80 thanks for sharing all that and I'll definitely ask my nurse what they advise. I'm also totally going to ask them to draw with sharpies on my butt, haha. I will feel better if DH has a target (after all, he competed nationally in biathlon which involves target shooting so he's a pretty sure bet at doing it right, lol).

  • J1006J1006 member
@ndz2018 it’s meant to be!! That’s how I’m looking at it right now too. Since I can’t get my FET done before my summer break is over I may as well just drink and watch baseball all summer haha. That’s my plan B right now.

@Momifbysea that’s interesting about the PIO. I have seen some people who swear by icing the area first to numb it before injecting. I never used ice. I didn’t find the injections that horrible to where I felt I needed it numb.  I did use a heating pad after my injection though. My nurse said it would help disperse the oil.

I am not envious of any of you who have to do  Estrace. I am the worst at remembering to take pills. No way would I remember three a day. I was bummed when I found out my RE does estrogen injections, but when I saw that you all have to take pills three times a day, I was happy with the twice a week injections.
  • @leilee101 I'm guessing the first week of july, at least i'm hoping! if its after that I'll be teetering on early Aug.

@J1006 YUP!! It's the beach and drinks for me for the next few weeks!! that's our silver lining!!
  • @leilee101 Yay looks like we'll be close! I take estrace once a day for 2 days, then goes to 2 a day (AM/PM), then it will go to 3 a day AM/Lunch/PM). Vaginally it'll get into your system faster and better! Some doctors feel and have seen it helps with your lining :)

  • For those doing baby aspirin. Is there a reason they have you on it? I've seen some girls swear it helped them, so debating if I'm going to self prescribe it to myself!

  • @kristimh80 my RE has me on baby asprin even when we're between treatments. I don't have or know the reason. I've been taking it religiously for 3+ years.

  • @kristimh80 I was literally thinking the same thing.. so many women are on it so it must be good for something and it’s otc...
  • @leilee101 Yes! And my RE us ok with tylenol is needed and it's a way lower amount than that comes. So I picked up some tonight and will continue my "googling" lol

  • I think baby aspirin is to increase blood flow and prevent blood clots BUT honestly I don’t know... I mean It makes sense, right? They say if you’re having a heart attack to take aspirin to thin the blood.

Baby aspirin is to help thin your blood and decrease inflammation. My RE said I would start it if I came back with a clotting disorder along with heparin. Luckily I don’t, but I may ask her opinion on starting baby aspirin anyway.
  • @J1006 Make total sense!! I think I’ll ask my RE as well.
  • @Drove2u Thank you for your encouragement.  I hear you about having to cancel plans all the time.  I feel like I am either not making plans (esp traveling) because I am concerned about the timing or canceling plans because the timing has changed,  or being bummed that I could have made plans and didn't! Yay for AF!
@madasm0530 Glad you are moving towards an early August date.   I also don't ovulate on my own.  I will get a period if they put me on BCP for a week and then take me off them though.  Does that work for you?
@ChristenMA83 Yay for a July date!
@kristimh80 Yay, to getting a date!  I start estradiol tonight so maybe we will be around the same time.  I haven't gotten my date yet. I'm on baby aspirin too.  Was told I need to take while on estrogen.
@J1006 Sorry for your delay.  I know it is frustrating to wait.  Thanks for your support.
@Momifbysea Don't stress the ERA situation. My doctor did it for me but told me the jury was still out on it.  Have you thought of setting a reminder on your phone to take your meds? My doctor beta tests at day 10. I am older as well, so I also feel the pressure to hurry up!

AFM,  I got rechecked today blood and ultra and I have been cleared to start a new cycleMy blood went from 2000 to 30 in 5 days.  I think the acupuncture really did the trick.  I haven't gotten my sched yet but I think this still puts me on track for Mid-July?

@momifbysea enjoy the New York trip!

@suziev3 yay for good blood results!

My doc has never mentioned baby asprin, but has me take ibuprofen starting on transfer day which I've always thought was weird considering that's usually a no-no during pregnancy.

For remembering my mid-day estrace I got a really cute pill case from amazon to hold a weeks supply in my purse.  This way even if I miss the exact timing, I'm bound to run into the pill case within an hour or two of my dosage.

We got our med schedule last night, it's a little different than last time.  This time there's no medrol and he has me on Acyclovir.  Researching that, its usually used to treat Herpes, but I found a study with success in using this for unexplained infertility and looks like it combats inflammation.
Then he has me on Prednisone starting on transfer day through 12 weeks....I knew this was a possibility depending on bloodwork, but I thought it would only be if I had overactive immune issues.  Looking forward to our July 6th appointment so I can get some more insight on the changes.
Since we had a pregnancy last time I expected the exact same protocol but he's shuffled the deck on me a little bit.  I'm wondering if this will change if my blood tests come back clear.
