So I woke up this morning to a little bit of bright red blood. Maybe half a pantyliner worth. I know it's probably nothing but I've still getting the impending period feeling of gassiness(period is due tomorrow, gas is my telltale sign).  I rushed to the clinic and asked them to draw my blood for beta...not feeling too hopeful. Will hear back this afternoon.

  • @linxyz fx that everything is ok and you have a good beta!
  • @linxyz hope you have a good beta. Sometimes spotting can be normal (as scary as it sounds) especial with ivf.
***TW with my first pregnancy I had spotting/bleeding almost the whole time. Scared me to death all the time but it ended well even though I delivered early, the bleeding had nothing to do with that. END TW***
     Hope all is well.

@kristimh80 hope yesterday went well and you get good results.

AFM got meds in to mail today, as long as blood work looks good Fri I will start with the estrogen shots Mon and Fri, will insert the estrogen vaginal ring that will stay in til beta. Can't wait to get this ball really rolling. I called yesterday and talkes to the financial person at my clinic and she suprised me with the information that the Dr is charging me a transfer fee for the donated embryo. I guess to believe that I would walk away Scott free was just a dream. 1350 is still better than 5500 for the whole adoption but was still a surprise.

  • Had baseline lab and ultrasound today. Of course ultrasound showed tons of tiny follicles, hoping that since they are all under 10 it won't be an issue. Waiting for call from nurse to see if I can start my estrogen shot and keep everything on schedule.

I am getting headaches so far the last 2 days in a row...and i haven't even started progesterone yet. It sucks but will be worth it in the end. Does anyone get headaches just on estrogen?

  • @laurengon82 ooo am excited for you! Mine is scheduled for June 27th.

@kristimh80 I sure do hope yesterday was the last one for a while lol.

@linxyz how are you doing? Did I miss a post on your 2nd beta? I hope numbers were great. You should be getting ready for an ultrasound in the next week or so depending on your Dr protocol.

@kristimh80 Birth control is the worst! I get the worst symptoms and moodiness when I'm on them. And it feels counterproductive lol.

So I guess @laurengon82 is next for June transfers? I will be lurking and praying for success!

@mandurz Sorry I forgot to update.

My follow up beta was 630 on friday...more than doubled! Doctor very happy, and we will have our first sonogram tomorrow. Nurse says we probably won't see anything.

Symptom wise, I'm having serious heart palpitations all day, everyday since 3.5 weeks. I'm also seriously fatigued. I can barely keep my eyes open even though i get plenty of sleep. I would love to nap every few hours and have to fight this urge. I'm a bit worried, I thought it's too early for me to have any symptoms. I think I should ask my doctor about the heart palpitations.

In the meantime, the crinone got better. I'm less itchy than last cycle for some reason. I believe it's because my discharge is more watery and the crinone isn't coming out in clumps.
  • @mandurz getting close for you too!
@linxyz so glad you had a good second beta.
@kristimh80 when will you get results from your era?

I’m pretty sure there is someone scheduled for transfer before me, but I can’t remember who.
  • @laurengon82 Hopefully this week. They took $$ finally and I saw my biopsy sample was in Miami...so already jealous it got to go to  fun place! lol

  • @linxyz so happy for you! I would ask your Dr to check for any possible mineral/vitamin deficiency. I had a magnesium and vitamin d deficiency in my first pregnancy and I had similar symptoms. The earlier they can catch that the better. It's not something that is super awful just something that can help in the long run.

@kristimh80 hope the results come back from Miami soon.

Had my lining check this morning and feeling kind of down - lining is 13mm (whoa! never more than 8 before) but is homogenous isntead of triple layer. I know that has a lot lower rate of clinical pregnancy and I'm so sad - last cycle had no problem with this. My RE still says to go ahead with the transfer and I don't want to contradict her but it sucks. I guess if I cancelled I don't know what we'd do differently? Also found out the one doctor I don't like out of the practice of 5 is on to do retrievals/transfers on my day and neither their schedule or mine can be changed. Ugggghhhhhh. Supposed to start PIO tomorrow night.
  • @chamomile-2 honestly go with your gut. If you don't like the Dr and aren't comfortable with the lining... don't do it. If you feel comfortable to move forward go for it. How you feel about everything does make a difference.
If you chose to cancel you don't always have to make big changes to get different results. I hope whichever route you go with you see good results no matter what.

    @beachbunnyxo123 Yay that's exciting!!!

@chamomile-2 I agree with what was just said. If you have any doubts, as the dr to see if they can do another lining check before starting progesterone. Maybe a little more estrogen will help with the triple line situation. Plus, could give a different doctor for your transfer :)

  • @beachbunnyxo123 I had my ultrasound and blood work this morning.  They never tell me numbers.  Even when I was doing the full round of invetro they never told me how many follicles I had or their size.  I know a lot of women get all that info, but I’ve been ok just going on them letting me know that everything looks good.  The nurse just said my lining is right where it needs to be and looks good.  She also said ovaries look good too- no cysts.  Then she gave me instructions for starting pio and crinone and instructions for day of transfer.  I am good to go!

@chamomile-2 sorry to hear your lining is not where it should be.  I agree with @mandurz that if you don’t feel comfortable going ahead with the transfer you shouldn’t.  Do what you think is right?  How many embryos do you have?

@mandurz @laurengon82 @kristimh80 I really appreciate your input! It helps me feel like I'm not nuts for feeling off about this! I really like the idea about asking for another lining check to see if it got better (with the benefit that it gets me off the day of that awful doc). I'm not normally a superstitious person but having a person I deeply dislike place my embryo inside me feels like bad juju. I put a call in to the IVF nurse, who will send message to my RE, who will call me back...sometime. The practice is where I work so I go there for convenience, but they are not so great with patient communication. Oh, and I have two non-tested blasts - planning to transfer 1. I guess worst case we ditch this month and try again with either more patches, more frequent monitoring, or estrogen shots?

ETA I'm actually curious how long you guys were/are on estrogen before lining check and what type of estrogen delivery? I was on skin patches for 18 days.
  • @chamomile-2 I do estrogen (pills) and have lining check between dayts 12 -15 of the cycle. My doctor typically does all transfers on day 21. After the lining check, usually I have always started progestrone (PIO) the following day.

  • @chamomile-2 here is what my FET schedule looks like.

  • @chamomile-2 my nurse said that if my lining was triple layer before PIO that they would cancel my cycle. She said the lining shouldn’t be type 3 until after PIO because it indicates that the progesterone has kicked in. if you haven’t started PIO yet it shouldn’t be triple layer yet. You should have a better idea your next appointment before transfer but after PIO.

@beachbunnyxo123 That's very interesting! My dr looks for the triple lining between days 12-15 and starts you on PIO for around a week til transfer. I also do a progesterone blood draw at the same time to see levels and they call to say to start PIO once bloodwork is in.
