I've been so up in the air about my announcement.. Part of me wants to do one around 20 weeks and announce the gender at the same time but my DH says to just wait until we have the baby and post a new updated family picture. I'm not very active on social media but I think its fun to announce a new pregnancy!

I'm torn because we had secondary infertility with this one, and I don't know if I want to acknowledge that in the post, or just do a pic with DS. And I'm not sure if I'm going to do it after the NIPT test results come back, or after the anatomy scan. Decisions!

Also team torn. We haven't told anyone at this point because of our past with recurrent losses. If tomorrow's U/S goes well we'll probably tell close friends and family. The rest of the world probably won't know until either the genetic testing at 9/10 weeks or after first trimester.

I have three ideas.
1) A shirt for DS that says "Future President" and a onesie that says "Future VP"
2) A shirt for DS that says "Future Voter 2031" and a onesie that says "Future Voter 2037"
3) When we take our annual trip to Pittsburgh for DH's birthday, get a Pittsburgh onesie and a family photo that says "First trip to Pitt as a family for 4" or something similar.

I have four sharps containers full of needles and syringes. I'm pretty sure they're going to feature in the announcement somehow, though I haven't figured out exactly how yet.

I want to incorporate my losses and do a rainbow baby announcement. I'm very open about my losses because I am in the boat of there is no shame and there shouldn't be a stigma. So I've thought about this;

We are going to the beach when I’ll be 10-months. We are going to have our little girl sitting on the beach in a dress that says “Big Sis” and then draw a “X 2” in the sand next to her for twins! We won’t post it until I’m 12/13 weeks though.

DD has her one year pics coming up next month. I have a Big Sister shirt we will put her in for a pic or two... then we will get some printed off to hand to relatives when they come for DDs bday at the end of July.

I was looking up ideas on pinterest and my fav was "this new year we'll be poppin' a different kind of bottle." Someone please use that idea.

We'll probably post a pic of DD in her "Big Sisters Rule" shirt since I went to the ends of the earth to find it.

@AshVA A friend of mine did something similar - They shaped the needles and bottles in a heart around the ultrasound photo. It was very sweet and really showed some of what they went thru to have their babies.

I kept all the syringes and drug bottles from our IVF cycle. I'm not doing any announcement until I actually have babe in arms, but I'm thinking I'll do a picture of baby taken from above with a heart surrounding him/her made out of all the syringes/empty bottles.

@ladystout08 That's along the lines of what I'm thinking. I've also seen cute onesie that say things like "Work of ART" and "Made with Love and Science."

Plus, I figure it's good to have photographic evidence of all the needles for mom-guilt purposes in about 14-15 years lol.

We had a BBQ yesterday for my birthday with close friends and family. When we cut the cake we decided to tell everyone then. I have never experienced a lots, but something about this one makes me nervous, so I felt uncomfortable telling my oldest but she is smart so she would have caught on soon enough. She thought we were joking at first. LOL. She is beyond excited and there was a lot of tears in the room. I love the big sisters club for a social media announcement though. Might copy it

@AshVA, I just ordered a “Made with Love and Science” onesie a few days ago, and yes, definitely planning to incorporate my lovely syringe collection as well!

I made a Facebook post at the end of April where I went public about our infertility and people were amazingly supportive, so it will be really nice to share this happy update with them in a few weeks. Just have to get over a little more of my PAIF anxiety first...

We have a basket of blankets in our front room that our dog always naps in. I'm going to move it against a wall (right now it's in front of a window), put a sign in front of it that says "Mom and Dad are getting me a new nap time partner - arriving January 2019," and hang a small clothesline behind it and clip a onesie (picture below) and an ultrasound pic to it. With any luck our dog will be agreeable and take a nap.

We are doing a 4th of July announcement. Target has a Star Spangled Mama shirt that I got, DD will be in a cute red/ white/ blue dress and DH will probably just wear a navy shirt. ( He's not into the matching idea lol) We are going to light sparklers and take pictures
This is one of my wedding pics and the announcement will be like that.

I think we're going with this idea...I got this onesie at Old Navy. firecracker pops are my favorite summer treat! I think we're going to get a box of the big ones, and even the minis if we can find them (they do exist!) and take pics with a cute tagline. Maybe "Something sweet coming in 2019" or "Ice (pop), Ice (pop) baby!" I'm open to other suggestions too!I got adorable red/white stripe baby sunglasses at Target. to go with it.

Oh also we're going to add an "S" on the onesie to make it say MomS because we're two moms!

I think we’re announcing at DD’s 2nd birthday party in a subtle way. At some point during the party which is a Taco Twosday theme, she’s going to be wearing a shirt that says, “Let’s Taco ‘Bout Something (front) I’m going to be a big sister (back)!!!”

I just don’t know that I’ll be able to bring myself to actually announce. We told family at 30 weeks last time, and social media the day she was born. My mom told me last week that I better not get pregnant again....so she’ll be the last to know. If I do announce, it’ll be after 25 weeks, so I have time to decide on what to do.

My husband wanted to tell his mom on mother's day. I was really hesitant we didn't tell anyone last time until I was about 15 weeks. But he really wanted to tell her so we told our parents on mother's day and I told him if anything went wrong with the pregnancy it was his responsibility to let everyone know. I think because we had no issues with the first one he just thinks this one will be the same. But here are the cards we gave them on mother's day they were to my mom and MIL from my DS. As far as announcing to friends I'm sure they will eventually Catch on that I'm continually not drinking and we will just eventually tell them.

We put DD in a big sister shirt to tell our families and my parents did not get it. My dad didn’t think anything about it at all but my mom eventually asked me where I got it. Apparently they both thought it must be a hand-me-down and didn’t necessarily mean anything.

We’re big Disney people and I love beauty and the beast. Our engagement cake was beauty and the beast themed and our wedding was loosely based off the beauty and the beast colors. I want to use this phrase but not necessarily the pregnancy test on it. I’d also love to incorporate being a rainbow baby as well.

@pttomato announcing our second was a total flop! I had ordered some cute "big sister" hair clips because I always had her hair done up and both sets of grandparents didnt clue in at all. My mom and dad even put them in their hair when our daughter took them out and handed them to them!! Our siblings all noticed inatantly though

I told my parents this trip even though it’s earlh because i’d want them to know even if something goes wrong. I’ll get to see each of my siblings at some point, I think so I’ll probably let them know as well.

we weren’t really going to announce on social media last time, but then people were like really awkward and weird about not knowing if they could talk about it. So I threw something together spur of the moment at 20-something weeks.

my H works for a company that makes drones. While we were out with him testing a couple weekends ago, I got him to take a selfie with DD and I with it. I’ll probably post it in a few weeks and say something about how it’s our first “dronie” as a family of four once I’m (hopefully) a bit further along.

We've only told our parents. I plan to incorporate our 4 year old daughter in some way when we tell the rest of the world... still trying to get creative and of course wait another 1-2 months. I thought the below picture is a cute idea for the upcoming summer announcement.

I'm not sure about how we will tell family. Our due date is late January by my estimates (30/31) and we have an appointment with a dating scan at 8 weeks (6/21). DD's first birthday is the following weekend & DH's sister & her family are coming up. I'd like to tell her that weekend because I always prefer in-person announcements to family vs. the phone... and since DH's family lives a good 7 hours away we won't be back there until Thanksgiving. That's a touch late lol. We've talked about announcing to the family at the party by having DD open a "Big Sister" gift, but part of me feels weird about this since it's her day & that sort of diverts attention to our pregnancy. I do feel like it would be cute & of course being 1 she obviously won't feel jealous at the time If we don't tell the whole family on her birthday we probably will on the 4th.

I am very involved in politics, so I love your number 2 idea, but DH would probably think it's too nerdy.

We were talking about getting that blood test that can tell the gender at 9 or 10 weeks, and then just announce it, like, "It's a boy!" or "It's a girl!" without really ever saying we're pregnant.
