We made custom Father's Day cards to tell the soon-to-be Grandpa's last weekend but haven't announced to anyone outside of our immediate family yet.
There was one friend of ours who found out just because I started throwing up into a ziplock during a car ride with her and I just blurted the news out because I was worried I was going to be getting sick the whole day I was out with her and the thought of coming up with an excuse was even more nauseating.
We don't really know how we are going to let all of our extended family and friends know but we're having fun looking at other people's ideas. We will be announcing sometime around 4th of July after our NT scan so we will probably work the holiday into it somehow. We'll see.
Last time around i was really crafty with telling everyone. This time I've been really nonchalant and it's been fun to see peoples reaction. Yesterday we had a huge family get-together and everyone I ran into I was like, "Hey! How are you?...by the way, I'm pregnant!" and it's funny how everyone is so surprised and excited.
After being reassured by my RE this morning, I bought these cute mugs for my parents and my sister. They'll be mailed directly to them so I'm sure I'll get a phone call after they arrive. We'll tell MIL and FIL when we see them this weekend.
I bought all the stuff to make my announcement last night. I'm going to do a small rustic palette with something like "For this we prayed" "Baby 'last name' due Jan. 2019"
Then I bought felt so I could make felt flowers in the colors of the rainbow and I will place them randomly on the board. Something like this but different styles of flowers.
Well, we decided on a whim to announce today. It’s not nearly as cute or well thought out as any of yours, but my IG and FB feeds have been so down I felt the need to post something positive. Close friends and fam already knew.
I can't remember who it was that suggested fortune cookies as a way to tell the kids, but thank you! I picked up a handful of them yesterday and switched out the fortunes. The one for DD said "You're going to be a big sister...again!" and DS' said "You're going to be a big brother". Both of them thought it was a joke and didn't believe us. They came around when I showed them my belly as proof. DD was excited/surprised (although I think she had suspected it) and DS asked if we could sell the baby after it's born LOL. He seemed to accept the news better by bedtime when he asked to say goodnight to and kiss the baby before bed

@Kabazaba I honestly think all pregnancy announcements are special in their own way. No joke! You can get all fancy and go all out with professional photos or you can take a selfie of your growing bump in your not so perfectly clean room and it would still be exciting! I’d be just as happy to see that announcement if I were your friend as much as the other ones that involve letterboards and all things Pinterest! Also, love your announcement caption.
Love all the announcements! @Kabazaba yours made me tear up. Im going to skip social media announcement, it's just not my thing. It's been fun to tell people as I see them.
We just told our kids (ages 3, 7, and 10). We frequently play a game called “Guess Who” on long car rides, where we each pick a person and then ask yes or no questions to guess each person’s person. So last night I told the kids that Dad and I had come up with a great person for this game and we wanted them to guess. Thy actually did pretty well with the yes or no questions, and after a few dozen questions, they had determined it was someone who hadn’t been born yet, but whom they would meet in January. 3 of my sister-in-laws are pregnant, so they guesses their babies first, and then our oldest asked, “Wait, is someone else in the family pregnant?” Our 3 year old yelled, “I’m gonna be a big sister! But I’m already big!” And then our oldest said, “Is it Mom?” And our 7 year old said, “Is Mom going to have a baby?” We said yes and they were all super excited. It was fun.
Now that our kids know, I figure we’ll let nature take its course and everyone else will probably know very soon.
We wanted to get this out to the interwebs before the 4th of July madness! A subtle showcase of our obsession with Harry Potter, right?

@ladystout08 have you received any calls about the mugs yet??!!
She just called me! They're so excited. My step dad was yelling in the background lol. I think it made her a little sad because they're so far away though.
I made a family announcement (I’m not announcing on social media yet) to send to aunts / uncles / siblings etc. Its a collage of DD holding the NT scan pictures that I captioned ‘Did we just become best friends? Yep! Big sister duty starts in January’.

I really need to think about what to do this time. We’ve been gradually telling people as we see them but I haven’t thought what to do as far as social media. Last time we announced around Christmas so we did stockings, and included my dog who’s no longer with us. These announcements are all so cute!
I took the photo for our pregnancy announcement last weekend! Now I just need to gather the courage to actually post it. I'm 15+3 today, but am tempted to wait until after my next OB appointment on 7/26 to have extra assurance that everything is still ok. If nothing else, at l least now I can get rid of four sharps containers worth of needles/ syringes/ medicine vials!
P.S.- I fully intend to use this photo for guilt purposes in 13-15 years.
Oh! I forgot about this post. I announced while I was on vacation by posting a pic on Facebook of DD in a onesie that said “super sister.” Pretty much did it on a whim because I kept worrying that I would accidentally post a pic of her in that onesie at some point anyway.
