  • @zande2016 oh no hope DS isn’t too bad! I don’t understand men’s minds sometimes! Hope you have a good session!
  • @zande2016 I hope that it doesn’t go as badly as you expect. Could you fold his hand while you’re being adjusted?

I need to to get out of bed. DD needs a bath before we need to leave for her dress rehearsal but I don’t really wanna get up yet.
  • @wildtot yay for no coughing!! Have fun at the photoshoot!
  • @hillbillywife i always ask myself “are you really that dirty/stinky that you need a bath?” Lol confession DS will go two days without a bath sometimes but at least gets a wipe down.
  • @hillbillywife luckily my chiro also adjusts babies/kids so I know she’ll be really cool about it, but yeah I’m envisioning holding his hand and having him stand by my head. I had to bring him into my NST yesterday because my mom was supposed to meet me there to take him but she was late, and as soon as he saw the medical equipment he freaked out and cried thinking he was gonna be the patient. I’m hoping since the chiro office isn’t as scary looking he’ll be okay.

    @zande2016 fingers crossed!!

@wildtot yay have fun! I vote yes on yard sale! We found a big wooden swing set for free one time and DH fixed it up a little bit. It’s been the best thing ever! Even the smaller plastic play sets would be a huge help!

ETA- I do that with bath time too ehh it can wait. But we’re spending a LOT of money on this recital so she will be sparkling lol. Too much for a 3 year old lol.
  • Good luck @zande2016!

DD was up at 5:15am again. so much for catching up on sleep the next few weeks before baby is here :(

  • @zande2016 I hope you get a pleasant surprise of good behavior today!
@wildtot Woohoo! So glad the coughing got better!
@SmashJam That sounds like so much fun! Don't worry, I always assume DH won't go to things, too. It might make them feel bad, but if they're the ones setting that precedent we can't do much about it. Good luck at the interview! There may be 5 other non preggos, but none of them are YOU, and you have so much to offer :)

  • @SmashJam good luck on your interview!! You never know, the other candidates might be a lot less qualified than you, and if nothing else, it’s always good practice to interview. Also it’s a networking opportunity, even if you don’t get the job, maybe they’ll know of some other opportunity you hadn’t heard about. That’s how I ended up with my current job.
  • @SmashJam Good luck on your interview! I assume DH will not want to do stuff either. I know he would rather sleep all morning and mess around on the computer, so why ask. I just feel bad not taking DS to do things on the weekend because I have no energy or not feeling well. Luckily DS seem overtired today too.
  • @wildtot yard sales are dangerous, lol, hope you find something cool and affordable!
@SmashJam I love reading about your farming stuff. Makes me wanna move to the country! I usually let DH do at least one thubt he wants over the weekend and I don't judge. We're always doing projects and baby stuff so now he needs a chunk of time for himself too. I obviously would not sit playing games especially on a day like today when it's beautiful outside but hey we all have our hobbies! Good luck on the interview, you never know!
@KatyF0813 good luck! I hope pictures turn out great. we are doing them either next weekend or the one after.
@zande2016 I'm sorry about that. He should put his foot down and say he won't do it or ask for a better commission. Does he enjoy it? You clearly needed his support today
@flockofmoosen3 sounds like a fun day and how nice that you are toting everyone around!!

I have my prenatal appointment with my doulas today...this is getting so real. Had my nst yesterday and everything looked good but I didn't know it was good to eat beforehand and baby wasn't moving much but they gave me some candy and he got excited. It's funny how shy he is because he was moving all morning and definitely moved all evening! I go back next week every Monday and Thursday now. So crazy! He is still head down and I'm hoping even though he is small he soon won't have room to turn anyways. Fluid was good and no contractions .

Weather is not grey anynore so I'm looking forward to a few hours at the beach! And maybe I'll pick up the patio...my dead plants are not a good sight.
  • @zande2016 I’m so sorry! I wish I was your neighbor so I could help you out. I understand how hard it is to keep your sh*t together when all you need is a little emotional/parental support and there’s literally none to be had. Take the day minute by minute. Let your DS watch all the tv and eat all the snacks. Do what you need to do to make it through the hour. You can do it! Did the chiropractor appointment go ok? Rooting for you today!

    @KatyF0813 yay for comfortable bras!

@flockofmoosen3 have fun with your friend! I love arts festivals too! Our town has a couple throughout the summer but I think they’re both around due date so I might have to miss. I’m bummed.

@SmashJam that open farm even sounds like a lot of fun! Hope it’s a good time and sorry your H never wants to do anything with you two. Family time is really important to me because the weekends is all we get. Sometimes I forget that other people have more “normal” work schedules. Does he spend more time with you during the week? Also- good luck on your interview!! I agree with zande- it’ll be a good experience regardless if you get the job! I’ll keep my FX for you though!
  • Thanks for the encouragement guys! Second shower of the day because I smelled like cow farm but I'm all dressed up and ready to head out here in 10 minutes.

@zande2016 is DH in charge of staffing and they just won't let him? Because that sucks. I hope that you get some time to yourself, and/or get to run your errands. I agree with others who say just do what you gotta do to get through the day and give yourself some grace with that!

The open farm was so fun! Hot dogs, ice cream, milk, hay rides, cow train rides, barn tours, all free! DS is napping. He actually transfered from car to bed!

@kissableviv I do try and let him do his projects and stuff on the weekends, for a few hours at a time. It is important he gets his time alone so he doesn't feel overwhelmed. Sometimes I just get sad because I'm like, I have all these pictures and memories and he was at home! He doesn't get to do the fun stuff we do during the week, and while he does spend time at night, its not really on DS's terms, its more dictated by bedtime and dinner time and other stuff that has to be done, its not the same as going out to something with us. He does seem genuinely happy and relaxed the last two days, and he's trying super hard to be helpful so I think his video gaming last night and alone time tonight has made a difference.

Ok, off to the interview, but first...inversion. Flip baby, flip!
  • So many cervix and rectum head butts today!! I may or may not have Googled cervix position and station to figure out if it means this kid is making progress :D:blush:

*spoiler: there seems to be no correlation
  • The mommy and me ended as a total shit show with DS rolling around in sand and throwing the biggest tantrum. No snack would save us from this. Then continued with a small meltdown at the farmers market. So glad i had my friend helping out and assuring me I had nothing to apologize for. I am so tired! I did find a toy bin in one of the garage sales for DSs outside toys. DH almost didn’t want it but hey it’s going for half the price it’s usually at stores.
  • @wildtot I’m sorry the shoot didn’t go well! They never seem to behave when we realllly want them to.

@TalesOfASocialIntrovert I hear you, my baby is really engaged in my cervix and it hurts. Today the chiro told me my baby is low and my pelvis is all ready to give birth.

@smashjam my H is in charge of staffing - that’s why I’m mad at him...he’s been at this job since April and he’s known all along he needs to staff it and yet somehow here we are and it’s not staffed. I mean his three bosses who own the company should also be stepping up to help him out today because he’s stuck doing it all himself, but ultimately this is his fault. He claims he had people lined up and they all backed out. I kind of don’t know how much I believe that. I’m sorry about your H not wanting to join family activities. We all need our alone time but there has to be a balance too.

@hillbillywife thank you, chiro went okay, he wasn’t too happy but she was cool about it and didn’t make me feel like a total jerk for bringing my kid at least.

@kissableviv have fun at your prenatal! I had mine a couple weeks ago and it was kind of scary but still exciting to be talking about all that. I still have one more before delivery.

    @KatyF0813 yay for comfy bras!!

So I went grocery shopping and came home and insisted I get to take a nap before H left for his second event. I think I managed about an hour nap before he woke me up. Now my friend is asking me to come swim in her pool, which I’m not thrilled about because I can’t find my maternity bathing suit and it’s gonna be a ton of work for me to bring my son by myself, plus the dog, but on the other hand my son is being a huge PITA so maybe at least it’ll distract him and make the time pass until bed time. He just dumped an entire bag of goldfish on the floor and I almost cried.
  • @zande2016 big mother effin' hugs lady. I am glad you insisted on your nap at least! Good for you. I had thought DH was supposed to staff it and that would drive me nuts too.

@TalesOfASocialIntrovert googling "cervix in late pregnancy" has not helped me either, lol.

I think the interview went well. I'm qualified, but always doubt myself in competition. Sent a follow up email with a few ideas hopefully that will send me over the edge!

Anyone who successfully flipped their breech, did you know when it happened, or suspect? Spinning babies says there will be "indications of being head down" or something vague without actually telling me what those inidcations might BE, so I didn't know what I should be feeling.
  • @SmashJam I don’t have personal experience but a friend of mine slipped in a bowling alley around 35 weeks and her head down baby flipped to frank beech. She did spinning babies / inversions and had success. She said that it was very obvious when the baby flipped. She said the movement was more startling than painful. Afterwards, the baby was sunny side up and she did more sifting to turn the baby over. Anyway, it took her several tries of sifting and inversions but it was successful.
  • I dunno if anyone is watching the Stanley Cup Finals (Go Caps!) but there is no way that Sting and Shaggy is better than Imagine Dragons. On the ice. RIght before the show. Also I have no idea how the Caps are going to beat the Golden Knights intro...its ridiculous. I probably won't even make it through the first period of the game but I am excited to see what they try and pull off when 8pm rolls around!
  • @zande2016 sorry to hear that DH is being so inconsiderate. I agree with the ladies do what you need to do to have a more relaxing day even if that means more tv time or spoiling the kiddo for a day. Anything to make it easier for you today. I can totally relate on some of the recent troubles with DH. Please feel free to PM me anytime! Hugs!
  • @SmashJam my baby was breech but flipped sometime between weeks 28-32. I didn't feel her flip but she had a lot more room than yours does at this point, so I never felt the flip. But I did suspect she flipped to head down because her kicks were under my ribs vs feeling them way low. So my indicators of her being head down are where her kicks are (under ribs and in my right side,) and I feel her getting the hiccups and they're pretty low down.
  • So I've been itching for one more weekend out of town. I have a pretty good deal on a hotel room, basically $250 to spend, and was thinking about taking DH to Palm Springs for Father's day since he's never been. However, temps are in the 100s...I'm afraid it might be too hot at 37weeks? There's AC of course but I am really craving pool time .I guess as long as I avoid the hottest hours maybe it will still be pleasant to be outside? I don't want to spend money to go somewhere and be inside...maybe I'll save the free nights for a quick getaway as a family of 3.
I haven't had any swelling yet but I'm sure it's coming...

It makes me sad that DH doesn’t make any effort sometimes to go places with DS and I. I’ve been saying we should go to the pool tomorrow and all of a sudden he doesn’t want to. Yeah he never agreed in the past week or so I’ve been talking about it but he never objected till now. It’s the last few opportunities I’ll have to do this with DS because the pool will close once I’m cleared PP or it will be harder then. He doesn’t like the crowds but he can at least try to put up with it. Now his proposal is DS and i go while he’s getting his haircut and then pick us up. So now I’m also on a time crunch. This guy just doesn’t get it.

eta that i just shared my feelings and of course he takes it as me guilt tripping him. I’ve been with DS all day and even when we have all been home he’s been on the garage playing with his new toy (table saw). Because he just had to get it set up right now. Of course he says i can always ask him for help. Oh and get this he told me how people have commented how surprised they are with how involved he is with DS. Um ok what do you want a trophy? Your his dad!
  • @wildtot ugh honestly let him feel guilty. you arent placing any blame just sharing your feelings.

  • I may have missed this but have people been discussing what PP purchases to make? I just realized I really should start getting things and begin packing a hospital bag too.

  • @lindsayleigh1989 i think a few things have been mentioned in a few threads and there is a hospital bag thread (i think) that we can revive. I haven’t packed yet either.

@lindsayleigh1989 @wildtot we should totally revive the "postpartum preparedness" thread or whatever. I think it included meal prep, bag packing, and whatever you're doing/did in the past to encourage labor on your own? ETA: and other random helpful postpartum purchases.
  • I don’t know if I’m going to buy much for postpartum...I guess I’ll wait a few weeks and see how the budget is looking. I figure I’ll have most stuff I need for free from the hospital - giant pads, numbing spray, witch hazel pads, peri bottle, mesh undies. I’ll buy stool softener to have at home and also some normal size pads. I’ll make sure we’re stocked on ibuprofen but we usually have it in the house. I’m honestly blanking on what else I’d need to buy. My brain is really fuzzy these days...

So a few weeks back I got a pack of newborn hats and socks at babies r us on sale. I discovered that the bag disappeared. I’m just taking a guess that my H threw it out. He does crap like that all the time. I really thought we were done buying things for the baby and now I’m pissed that I have to go buy yet another stupid thing. None of the hats we had for my first fit his head when he was born and all the socks we had are now mismatched because we have a sock monster apparently who steals all the socks. Soooo for a July baby are socks and hats really necessary? I can’t decide!
  • @zande2016 I was back and forth on the socks/ hat, too. I settled on yes, necessary, because they just lose so much heat through those areas. I had an October baby last time, though, so I'm having to replace our stash as well. Trying to just go with things that are thin, especially muslin. I thought the second baby was supposed to be cheaper! Lol.

  • @zande2016 i feel like our Hs are related. Mine likes to throw out random stuff too without asking or looking to see what it is. I don’t recall using too many socks early on during the summer. Hats, well it depends on what kind but certainly not beanies.

I need to check out ny inventory of PP stuff i might need a few more pads and colace. I do want a new girdle but I have to wait a bit more since some only take returns/exchanges within 30 days.

Had another successful coughless night! And DS crashed last night because of the heat and his huge tantrums. I now have a bruise on my right eye socket/ temple from him head budding me on purpose. I had actually blanked for a bit when that happened. Hopefully today will be better and we can go to the pool for a bit. I’m not really prepared for the pool though (not waxed or shaved) so I’m trying to figure out what i can wear of my old stuff without looking like some overstuffed sausage.
  • @d_marie_23 seriously! I can’t believe how much we’ve spent on 2nd baby stuff! My first was late September so I also have the different season issue. I realized a few of our newborn sleepers are fleece, which won’t work for a July baby. I was in Kohl’s the other day and didn’t see any hats or socks for newborns, oddly. Where did you end up getting them? I’m thinking maybe amazon will be the most reasonable.
  • @wildtot he does it alllll the time and then gets super defensive and denies it until the dam cows come home. He’ll go on a “cleaning” frenzy but his idea of cleaning is throwing out everything in sight that could maybe possibly be garbage and shoving random things into random drawers and closets. It drives me absolutely nuts. Take the time to do it right, he just does things as quickly (and half assed) as possible. Re hats I’m talking the thin cotton type, not beanies. Kind of similar to what they put on in the hospital. Have fun at the pool today! I swam yesterday at a friends house and figured hopefully the bump stuck out enough to hide any lurking hairs that I can’t get to haha.
  • I saw this yesterday and i just probably frame it around the house.

  • Hahaha love it @wildtot
