Guncle and I are going out for Poutine tonight. I spent way too much time trying to find a place in St. Louis that serves it, and hopefully does a decent job with it.
If not, well, I will have tried a new dish at a new restaurant, and will make Guncle take me for Fro-Yo.
I get to try on my bridesmaid's dress for a wedding in July (I'll be 26 weeks). I've got a tinyyyyy bump so I'm curious to see if it still fits now! (And yes, I know it won't fit in 2 months. I ordered extra fabric for it so I'll be good to go)
I thought the warm weather would help pull me out of this funk, but Tuesday was a beautiful day and I just wanted to sleep all day. I was barely able to function to take care of Z and get to work in the afternoon. Looks like I'm talking to my OB about anti-depressant options at my appointment on Wednesday.
@krzyriver hope you can get some relief! I know it was really hard for me to make the leap and get on antidepressants, but it really helped me and I'm so glad I did. Hope you can find something that helps!
I honestly cant imagine doing this without my antidepressants. My moods swing so much that I need the help. It doesn't help that anytime I have to see my husband's ex wife and ex MIL my anxiety is horrible...the only downside to TBall season!
@krzyriver I'd also ask for a panel to make sure you levels are good. My friend had an energy issue and I think it ended up being vitamin D? I can't remember. But something to look into.
@hellopartyof5 My OB runs vitamin D levels on all her patients. She says nearly everyone comes back low (pregnant or not). I didn’t notice any changes when I started taking the supplements (this was also almost 3 years ago), but I know a lot of people see some positive mood changes.
@coffee-saur I hope so. I was on Lexapro pre-pregnancy but it wasn't helping much and I was on a wait list to see a psychiatrist. When I got my BFP, I was told to stop taking it and I've been trying to avoid anything while pregnant. But I need something, even if it helps minimally.
@hellopartyof5 Yeah they ran my Vitamin D and it was normal. I've been on some sort of vitamin D supplement or another since one of my very first pregnancies. The supplement helps SO much, but I suffer from pretty severe depression. When not pregnant, I can usually self medicate with a healthy diet and exercise, but I had trouble getting back in the habit after Z, so I was on Lexapro. I guess I need something until I can finally get back to a healthy lifestyle after this baby.
@sliztee it's unreal. I still can't believe the ineptitude. I'm so stoked for the impeachment trial. When our kids are old enough to learn history, they're going to laugh at how dumb this era was.
@krzyriver I totally understand that. I suffer from depression as well and can usually pull my self out of it (eventually...) but it's such a struggle and I used to have a much harder time with it. I hope you can find something that works well! There's nothing worse than feeling like you can't even take care of your own kid.
I'm finally starting to feel normal, and I'm debating being productive (folding some laundry, organizing something) or just cross stitchinf and Netflix...
@purplegoldfish2 - I literally just started a load. I have two more loads I have to do tonight and tomorrow. I’m giving up on my sheets this go around.
@knottieamusements We have mountain laundry in the basement. Easily 10+ loads, including our 2 spare sets of sheets, which means I can’t change sheets until I do laundry. MH just washed all the laundry a couple weeks ago and I swore I would keep up with it... and now the kids have no underwear again.
@DunkinDecaf only because they change their underwear and socks at night. I have no idea why they started that; they’re weird.
My google searches today include "how to eat graham crackers without getting crumbs in my boobs" and "where can I get cheesecake delivered" followed by "where can I get cheesecake delivered RIGHT NOW"

I own a photography business and have since 2008. Well a few years ago I noticed someone in my state, within an hours drive started using a name very similar to mine (literally one letter different). Mine is my first and middle name. It drives me nuts, I’ve had some of her clients contact me thinking I was her, and the worst part is, it’s not even her name! It’s her daughter’s name, in a business that’s so focused on ones talent, why wouldn’t you use your own name?! Anyway, I met with one of her relatives at my M-F job. We got to talking and realized we “knew” each other, the best part was her relative said she always thought it was dumb she didn’t use her own name. I didn’t say anything negative about it, but it felt good that I wasn’t the only one that thought that way.
I’d totally have taken a picture of the poutine to share, but Guncle and I demolished it before I thought to. So- Imagine a pile of pulled pork, with some fries sticking out of the bottom. It was delicious. We also had brussel sprouts and crab cake sliders.
After dinner, we went to a gourmet ice cream place up the street- and that was just as good.
@krzyriver good luck! I know I would be lost without Zoloft! A few weeks ago I only took 50 by accident and it was a horrible day! Hopefully you find something that works!
Thanks ladies! I did some crazy spring cleaning today which helped tremendously! Temporary solution to hold me over until my appointment. But oh man, my back is killing me now! Entertaining Z with Moana for the rest of the day.
Would anyone be interested in the 'Boxed' app? It's a shopping app that has bulk foods. I don't know how the prices would compare with a place like Costco (my closest one would be at least a 3 hr drive away) but the prices are comparable to Wal-Mart. You get free shipping with an order over $50 and it comes right to your door! I have a referral code that anyone can use and it will give you $15 off and I get credit. I get paper products from them and snack size bags of chips and such for packed lunches. They have lots of different foods and a lot of household things. It's super useful to me cuz, like I said, I have no bulk foods places anywhere close, but thought some might like having it shipped right to your door! My referral code is DFQ99 if anyone is interested!
NYSDOH just posted a thing on Facebook about telling promgoers that pale skin is in and don’t tan before prom, etc. and the picture had 5 girls in prom dresses... every single one of them had a tan. Talk about mixed messages.
@krzyriver I’m not sure what your doc mentioned, but my doc, who specializes in women’s mental health, gave me the go ahead for lexapro during pregnancy. I ultimately went off of it for other reasons, but I’m happy to send the paperwork she gave me if you wanted to read it. I went to a center in Boston that is doing a lot of the new research - I mentioned in another thread but for example they are doing studies on folate and depression. I hope you find a solution that works for you and feel better soon.
While helping clean out my dad's shed my cat managed to rub along some grease.. We don't even know where or how. He's a long haired, hates being brushed, and generally wiped down. I've been wiping him a couple passes at a time with a damp rag but other than that I have no idea how to clean that shit off him.
I think the "nesting" phase is kicking in again...I just reorganized our pantry and threw out a bunch of expired food. IT FELT SO GOOD. Also, I made cookies (slice and bake), because why not, and they were going to expire soon.
