Re: Fffc

  • @tumbleweed-1 in the groups I’m in, it’s just that some people don’t get along. And then there wind up being sort of groups because people are usually on one side or another. I’ll admit I’ve been involved in more than my fair share of drama, but I don’t have a problem telling people to their face if they’re being an ass, whether that’s here or on Facebook, so...

Yup, in A16, it's usually just people getting wound up about strongly held opinions on things that are personal to them, or just general personality conflicts. I don't think anybody at this point goes in intending to start an argument, but these things happen. People call each other out, eventually everybody apologizes, life moves on. Occasionally folks gripe to one another via PM about minor grievances instead of letting loose.  I think after a certain point in time, most of us recognize that those sorts of arguments aren't worth losing friends over.
  • @tumbleweed-1 I certainly don't get FB group drama either! I only join location-specific-non-sales groups, but I don't participate there like I do here. I'm a huge fan of snoozing people. I have learned that if I snooze people solely on spelling errors, or apostrophe abuse, I see significantly fewer drama posts.

I'm just thankful that I have better things to do...usually.

  • My March 16 group has very little drama. We've got rules about keeping things like politics and mega controversial topics outside of the group. We all know who stands where for the most part because of what people post on individual pages, but the group page is generally pretty chill! The election caused some conversations that should've happened outside of the group, but we're all adults and moved past it.

I think personality conflicts are the main thing. We had a small group of people (like 2) that wanted to kind of “run the show” and they would give unsolicited advice to everyone, but get mad if someone gave them advice, like it was somehow disrespectful.

My fb group now has like 40 people and we are all super close. Most of us have hung out in person at least once. We have no rules about banning politics, etc. because we are all friends at this point which means we are respectful of one another.
