I’ve been sipping on wine. I have to,’otherwise my kids suspect and I’m not ready for them to know. Last night H brought home this maple cider and I sipped on it and it totally helped my morning sickness.

@Gwyneddlesliegrace I’m trying to be careful about my alcohol consumption during first tri but I definitely plan on having a small celebration glass if all goes well at my appointment on the 7th. Once I hit the 2nd tri I’ll do once a week to celebrate each weekly milestone

I've been nauseous all morning and have shut myself away in the bathroom leaving DD with H for the time being. I've taken a shower and browsed social media for over 45 min now but haven't thrown up yet. I plan on sticking it out for awhile longer...just in case.
Typical morning commute: drop Nugget off at daycare in the car, drive home, park, Blue Line, work. Typical afternoon commute: Green Line, pick Nugget up on foot, Green Line, bus, walk 20 minutes, home.
I spent $15 this morning to park for the day by my daughter's daycare and the Green Line instead of driving home to catch the Blue. I justified it by noting that apparently the Blue has a few delays, but the reality is it's Friday and I really just don't want to start my weekend by trying to wrangle a two year old on the bus.
I was late to work and skipped a meeting because I needed to get a bagel with lettuce, bacon, avocado and mayo from a specific bagel shop and I don't regret it one bit.
@Gwyneddlesliegrace@PensiveCrayon I totally enjoyed a glass of wine here and there during my pregnancy with DS. Not super often, but a few times. Not sure this time around how that would affect the GD, and not sure how to ask my OB or dietician about it lol.
My appointment is today at 1 and I can't concentrate on my work at all while waiting!
@CecilB93 Good luck at your appointment! Are you having to test your blood a few times a day?
Yes, 4 times a day. My morning fasting levels have been high every day, after meal levels are perfectly fine though (besides my one "I'm nauseous and want McDs fries" meal yesterday...). I really just don't want to have to go on insulin, I haven't added physical activity yet, just altered my food, so im wondering if I do something before bed if that may help. Going to ask the doctor if I can try that for a week or so before going straight to insulin! I've only been at this for three days, so I'm hoping she lets me try some stuff before medicating, I've never met her so idk how she'll want to do things.

Spoke with the dietician this morning and she said that high glucose levels in the first tri can increase chances of miscarriage? Idk, I plan to ask my OB about that today. I know this dietician focuses on GD but I want to hear from an actual doctor if it's true or not.
@Gwyneddlesliegrace@PensiveCrayon My last pregnancy I had a glass of wine, champagne and beer (all on separate days of course) throughout my whole pregnancy. No shame.
My stomach currently hurts so I just unbuttoned and completely unzipped my pants while at work. No shame.
“Mornings” seem extra hard for me right now. I just focus on feeding the critters and the LO. I work second shift so this directly relates to having to be my most awake in the evening. Today I have purposely lured my DD (3 soonish) into staying in the living room by keeping on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a while. I’m a zombie on the couch slowing eating Ritz crackers and too scared to drink coffee on this wonky stomach today.
Having bad bad mom guilt because of my lack of motivation to do shit. Ugh. I will probably at least give the kid a bath since she looooves bath time...even in the middle of the day.
@CecilB93 Ugh, I can appreciate the dietician wanting to give you all the information you may need, but I definitely would want to hear a doctors opinion. I hope you get some good clarification today. I would definitely try a little after dinner/pre-sleep activity to help the morning fasting number. One of my girlfriends also had a high morning number and that helped. My fingers are crossed for you!
mine is that i am not real concerned about my weight gain during this pregnancy. I don't have a restrictive diet normally, and i eat when im hungry whatever sounds good and whatever amount by body needs. I plan to do the same during pregnancy. I don't care to follow a prescribed amount that does not take into account anything about my body.
My stomach currently hurts so I just unbuttoned and completely unzipped my pants while at work. No shame.
Oh I may be doing this at some point. It's a jeans day today, and idk where my old maternity jeans are, I need new ones! My work pants are maternity, so I'm not used to this at work! Lol.

Glad to hear it worked for her! That makes me more hopeful! Thanks!
Add me to the moms who enjoy an occasional adult beverage during pregnancy. Last time i waited until I was out of the first tri. We’ll see if I last that long this time.

@krob I did have a couple sips of DHs wine the other night, but not my own glass. I waited till after first tri last time too, but I also found out late and had drank heavily during the early weeks when I didn't know...for the record, DS is 100% fine!
I tried having a glass of wine here or there when pregnant with DD but it just didn't taste good.
DH and I went to Cabo for our honeymoon 4 months after our wedding and I didn't know I was about 3 weeks along. I was having symptoms, so I took a test and it was a BFN. I proceeded to get VERY drunk that night, but not the remaining nights. Got home 5 days later and got a BFP. Our babe is great too.
I found out fairly early last time, but there were definitely days i drank heavily before knowing. DS turned out fine as well.
The fact that every glass of white wine tasted terrible to me is what alerted me that i was pregnant this time around. For some reason when I’m pregnant my taste buds hate white wine. Thankfully they still accept red.

For once in my life, the thought of alcohol is just awful right now. I’m sure that’ll change in a few weeks. Last time around I had a few sips here and there, I’m sure I’ll do the same again.
Hahaha I started wearing dresses and stopped wearing tights to the office this week in large part because it's the closest I can get to not wearing pants at all. So what if it's not even 50 degrees out? Waistbands are genuine torture.
I have spent 75% of my work day thus far doing non-work things. Bumping, obvs. Looking for 2nd birthday presents and decorations for DD. Looking up ticket prices for the Telluride music festival in July (Grace Potter AND ZZ Ward are going to be there...squeeeee) and immediately being disappointed because of the high price. Work just sounds so not fun right now. Blech.
@morgantu I spent the day before I found out celebrating my five year wedding anniversary with (lots of) champagne! (To be fair, I found out at 3 weeks and 1 day, which is insane and so much earlier than I would have thought possible, but whatever.) We also found out about my DD a week after a wedding with (lots of) champagne, so maybe this is a tradition? Haha.
I had a 4oz beer on Wednesday night when I went to trivia with some friends. I don't think small amounts on rare occasions are a big deal.

Glad to see everyone is sipping wine and eating sushi here. You are my people. But I do agree that wine doesn't taste as good lately, so I only have a few sips to satisfy the urge.
My other confession is I like to go on my Glow app and vote on whether someone has a positive pregnancy test or not. I also may or may not have posted a few tests of my own on there

I drank a little red wine with my first son and he's 100% fine. Today I was talking to a co-worker about having a back to school party in July (I am a teacher). She mentioned margaritas because it's legit my favorite! I've told my team I'm pregnant. I told her oh maybe I'll have a few sips and my other co-worker was like NO YOU WON'T! Ummmm....excuse me! Get off your high horse and worry about yourself!
