    18 weeks, 1 day.

Mostly, my issues are with sleeping...can't get comfortable, my hips ache, and I have a really bad knot in my back that just won't quit :(
  • 17+2.  Moving while pregnant is not wise.  This stress is manifesting itself in really inconvenient ways.
Up all night with anxiety about the baby being healthy....this anatomy scan can't come soon enough....

Do you think those of us who haven't even really felt flutters will be able to feel bigger movements soon? @KFrob

  • @sliztee My coworker (who's due Aug 5th) told me she knew for sure at 18w she was feeling baby, and realized movements she felt at 16w were baby she just didn't realize. It could be that you have "Felt" movement but not realized what it was, or been preoccupied when it occurred and not noticed.

17 weeks today! - I felt the 1st trimester exhaustion all over again last week, hoping this week I have a little more energy. In the last week I think I’ve started feeling little flutters (although I’m a FTM so for all I know it’s gas lol) ... New symptom: I feel extra sweaty... is this normal? I’m not normally a sweaty person, even when working out so this is strange for me! Especially since it not just my underarms, my feet and “bottom” area... totally gross.
  • Hi all   ... I'm 17+4 today and also have not felt movement yet.  I keep thinking I do but then pretty much realize its just gas  haha.  I am FTM so not sure what I'm looking for but everything I read says 18-22 weeks is when you can expect to feel it so don't worry yourselves too much!  I know, the excitement is too much to bear.  I have a check up this Friday so I think hearing the heartbeat will help me feel less anxious.

As for symptoms, my skin is extra oily and in overdrive.  I am breaking out like crazy and its making me feel so self-conscious.  Grr... any suggestions to help ??  I read to use apple cider vinegar as an astringent to help dry out some of the oils.
  • @lolo_0924 I wake up in a cold sweat occasionally. It's super fun. Also "swass" is the worst.
  • @sliztee  +1 for baby vs. indegestion????

@linssears4 Did you see the comment I tagged you in last week about my visit to the dermatologist?
  • 14w2d

Morning sickness is still in effect although starting to have days where it’s easing up some. Energy is also thankfully starting to come back which means I can stay up until an almost normal bedtime finally! Other than that feeling pretty normal other than always being hungry!

  • @sliztee It is possible to go right to feeling bigger movements. That’s what happened to me last time.  It was pretty early still (14+2) but there are a lot of factors that go into it.  I was pretty thin to begin with and had twins, both of which can lead to feeling movements earlier.  MH felt them for the first time the same day I did, so it made it very clear that it was definitely babies.

Where’s the dermatologist post? I’d like to read it too. My face is a disaster.

@sammierose464 and @sliztee It also occurred to me since I have DD distracting me all the time and not much "quiet" chill time that maybe I did just miss it.  Fingers crossed everyone get to feel movement soon!!!
  • 16w4d

I'm starting to feel better overall, more "normal". I am still throwing up most mornings, but then I'm usually good for the day. I'm super itchy, I probably need to get better about using lotion. It mostly bothers me at night when I'm trying to sleep. Sleeping is hard to get comfortable. My food aversions are getting better.

I'm mostly just really emotional. It's probably due to feeling overwhelmed at work. Today I'm just getting annoyed at all the little crap that keeps going wrong (that's out of my hands) that ends up being more work for me.

I think I've felt movement, but I'm not sure yet. I don't confuse it with gas...I know that feeling! It's more of me questioning if there was actually something there or if I'm hyper aware of any feelings in my stomach.
  • I'm 16+5, FTM, I honestly think I've felt the flutters for a while. Rarely, but I did. Sometimes it's gas, but I keep having them around the same spot and I think I can tell a difference. The last few days I've felt them much more frequently, and it's getting more distinguishable (still faint, but more than before). But for me, it's because they're always in a similar spot. And that's what my doctor said to look for as well.
  • 15+1 today.

Do the migraines ever stop? My daily 2 Tylenol is not cutting it and I get these suckers almost daily now. (Asked my dr 2 weeks ago at last checkup and she said its normal and to stay hydrayed, but I’m losing my mind.)
  • I’m 17w6d.

Not much by way of physical symptoms this week.  However, the emotional landscape is a different story.  I’m trying really hard to be my usual happy self, but I run out of energy at the end of the day to deal with people.

I do have more energy to get stuff done, but I find I need to do things in bursts- work for 20-30 min; sit down for 15-20 min.  So, things are getting done again, just at a jerky pace.

As for bedtime- I am done with people by 8pm, but can stay up until 9:30-10 if I am doing quiet things at home.  Sleeping is hit or miss- dreams are weird, and I may or may not spend most of rhe the night tossing and turning.  A warm shower before I lie down seems to help.
  • 16+2. Feeling pretty good, but tonight one of the docs I work with told me that pretty soon I was going to look like a beached whale. She then qualified it by saying “but a cute beached whale!” Not exactly what I wanted to hear. I know I’m big, even for twins, but honestly just shut up. She has no filter, so I’m not shocked, but still.

  • Thanks @sliztee!  Do you know the name of the ointment? Everything my dermatologist tried before I was pregnant was too harsh for my skin, but I don’t remember him saying anything about one clearing up the redness. He was more focused on getting the breakouts under control first, but now half of my issue is redness from old pimples.  I have an appointment later this month & will ask him about the ointment if you have the name.

I'm feeling movements a lot now! Started feeling them around 15wks. But for the FTMs that are a bit worried...I didnt feel movement with my first until after 18wks and I had a posterior placenta. So dont worry! It'll come  :)

I'm still nauseous here and there, mostly In the mornings. The headaches are killer.

I can stay up later but I still dont have a ton of energy to get things done, hoping that changes soon.

Oh and +1 to breaking out like a hormonal teenager. Ugh

@purplegoldfish2 The ointment used to reduce redness is called Dapsone. Good luck!
  • jennybean80 what an ass!!!!!!! I'm so sorry she said that to you....people are idiots.

  • 14w4d and feeling ok. The headaches are the worst and usually come on at about 6pm. I'm assuming that's when my blood sugar is at it's lowest so I've been trying to stay ahead of that this week. I don't feel any other physical symptoms (aside from growing bigger), but jesus the dreams that I have been having are insane! Some nights I go to bed at 8:30 and wake up at 7am and feel like I'm still not getting a good night's sleep because of how vivid and action packed these dreams are! Does anyone have suggestions for a restful sleep? I do sleepytime tea at night (ok'ed by the OB), anything other than that?
  • @babyptobe - I’ve started taking warm showers at night, and that has helped me a lot. I’m still having crazy dreams, but now I’m getting a good six hours before I have to get up to pee, and then the dreams start afterwards...
  • Agree! And only once?!?! I go to bed around 9:30, and always pee around midnight, almost always around 2:30, and then frequently between 4-5:30 am right before my alarm goes off.  And that's on a good day  :D
  • 14 weeks 3 days.

Feeling pretty good these days. Haven’t had many symptoms tho FTM so I’m worried about that, and here in Canada and live in a small town without the option of an extra scan. I got to see baby once at my 11 week scan but haven’t had the chance at hearing the heartbeat yet. My only major symptom is these terrible headaches, since my food aversions have gone away I have been trying to stay away from eating carbs and eating a lot of fruits and veggies. I think I might be lacking on food but afraid to gain too much weight since I am already a bigger girl.

I’m 18w, 1d. Plus one to the “is it gas or is it baby?” questioning!

I’ve had a few pretty crazy dreams.

My skin varies between super oily with breakouts and super dry in random patches.

I feel pretty great most of the time, but I had two random days of extremely painful cramping. Both times it was a day after having sex so I’m not sure if it’s related? It doesn’t happen every time but that seems to be the only parallel between the instances and I can’t figure it out. Ugh.
  • Umm..  so- I am going to bed around 8:30.  I have to get up between 2:30 and 3 to pee.  Then the dog gets me up half an hour later because he needs to pee.  And then the dog gets me up another hour or so later because he thinks it is time for his breakfast.  And after having fed both dog and cat, the cat thinks that 4:30 in the morning is the purrrfect time to get pets.  She bites me (not hard- but her teeth are sharp!) if I’m not sufficiently affectionate. Then my alarm goes off and I curse the gods that have not seen fit to make me independently wealthy.

Also- I drink most of my water before 5pm.  I still drink through the evening, but not enough that I need to pee every 30 min...
  • I feel stuff but I am mostly convinced its gas- it doesnt feel like flutters or bubbles popping or whooshing...it feels like gas.

    17+1 here
  • @sliztee  oh no I think I missed it!!! I have a hard time keeping up with some of the threads!  OOps, I'm sorry.  Do you remember where it was?  I feel like i complain in all the threads haha
  • @sliztee  THANK YOU.. this is extremely helpful.  I see my doc this Friday and will ask about all of the above.  I will try anything to get this under control if even just a little.  Its all along my chin line and extends downward onto my neck behind my ears.  So gross.

@linssears4 Yeah, it's on my cheeks and back, so I feel ya! Good luck.

16 weeks! I thought I felt some flutters yesterday, but then I couldn’t tell if I was just imagining things because I really want to feel him/her

@lolo_0924 I’m also sweatier! Maybe there’s some sort of explanation connected to all the extra blood?

My biggest challenge right now is just getting annoyed at the smallest of things and not being able to let go, so it haunts me for hours or even days! I hate it. Anyone found a way to fight this?

I have this problem even when not pregnant!  But it is worse now.

I have a friend who knows me really well, and whose judgment I trust.  I talk to him about whatever the thing is, and he helps me figure out if I am overreacting, or if things are likely as I perceive them.  If I need to craft a response, he also helps me with tone so I don’t come off as super bitchy.  He’s also really good about letting me come to my own conclusions about whether I’m being hormonal right now (and sometimes it is both- that I’m not wrong but am super hormonal).

It doesn’t always help with the grumpiness, but it does help with the second guessing.
