i thought I experienced rlp before but I think it was just a small cramp. Was in the mall yesterday and had to sit down because of the discomfort. It was so sudden! Quick but potent! RLP continued when I was moving around at any pace quicker than excruciatingly slow for the rest of the night. Thankfully I’m feeling much better this morning and at work today.
Unrelated, I ended up splitting the inner thigh of my black work jeans today! I don’t think it’s ftom my pregnancy but probably pilling from months of my thighs rubbing beforehand. Good thing I have my maternity jeans ready to go. I think it’s time to start packing up pencil skirts, button up blouses, and other pieces that will be on the outs.
Nausea was actually much improved the last three days. This morning I wasn’t nauseous when I woke up for the first time.
My dreams are also really freaking weird. Last night I dreamed that I was at the mall and I couldn’t find the exit.
I’m also pretty sure I have a yeast infection, but my urine culture came back normal so at least I don’t have to take an antibiotic.
My biggest symptom right now is that my anxiety is through the roof. It’s been really bad since my appointment last week when I got the order for my anatomy scan. I should be excited, last time around I was so excited to find out the sex. This time I’m having major anxiety that I’m going to find out there’s something horribly wrong with my kids because I’m taking a meds. Obviously I need the anxiety medicine, because without it I probably wouldn’t be functioning.
ETA: Just found 1 of my anxiety meds on my bed (I take 1 25mg and 1 50mg to equal 75mg). I must have dropped it last night, no wonder my anxiety has been so bad today.
16w5d Not pregnancy related but I am sick, horrible cough, stuffy nose, achey all over, had to leave work early sick.. and being pregnant means it's going to take a lot longer to get healthy again...
Other than that, headaches are back, in full swing!! Might have to try to caffeine trick
Dreams are crazier all the time when I do remember them but I always wake up in a panic or feeling lost like I don't know where I am (doesn't help I'm in a hotel)
Sciatic pain is still bad and from the sounds of others it'll only get worse!! ):
15w3d Still a bit nauseous but I haven't taken Diclectin in a few days and I'm managing. Win! I have zero motivation lately, and my house is a disaster. Still getting headaches very often. I'm definitely feeling movements, happening more and more frequently. So much earlier than my first pregnancy!
Nausea lessening. But sleeping is causing me neck kinks, so thats fun. It's worse when I lay on my side, so I'm hoping it gets better before I can't be on my back anymore.
Finally feeling better! It's more often that I feel good than not. I'm so thankful for that! My digestive system can't decide if I'm constipated or have diarrhea... I can't go for days then BAM! Run for the bathroom ! I get short of breath lots and tired, but not as bad. Does anyone else have a terrible time drinking water? It tastes off to me and I know I have a hard time drinking enough. I will hardly drink throughout the day but towards evening, I get extremely thirsty! I drink as much as I can, which I know means I'll have to get up to pee 6-7 times thru the night. Also, the weird tightness, almost contraction-ish ache feeling has quit.
16 weeks and 3 days. Just feeling pressure on my uterus when I sit weird or lay on back and pretty sure I felt baby move a few times since 16 weeks started. Its been a really easy second tri so far. Love that my belly is popping out i actually feel pregnant this go round because my belly is actually starting to grow earlier.
@coffee-saur I've always hated water, and therefore have had a hard time drinking it. So it's worse now for me, warm water has THE GROSSEST texture (it's so thick!) so I prefer hot liquids or ice cold water right now. I'm also drinking A LOT of sparkling water, which probably isn't helping the bloating, but at least it's a calorie free liquid?
@knottieamusements I am also still battling the tooth brush. I think I've conceded that this is going to be a whole pregnancy thing. Also, at my NT scan I saw the tech type ANT over the shot of my placenta so I think I'm in the same boat. As a STM who should know, I feel completely clueless about movement this time around. I felt DD at 15 weeks and I was positive about what I was feeling, the flutters everyone talks about. This time I'll feel something off to the side of my belly and I'm like baby or gas? It's weird to not have that ah-ha moment to document the first movement.
16w 4d I'm feeling pretty great most of the time! Still super sore boobs, occasional headaches, RLP. But I'm sleeping much better and energy is mostly back.
15w1d. Just had insane RLP from sneezing. Going to hold my uterus now every time I feel like sneezing.
Still have daily headaches, and nausea from 3pm onward.
BUT! I can almost eat vegetables again, and I'm able to tolerate some meat. Mostly if it is in a Chipotle style dish or nachos, because I'm having major Mexican food cravings right now.
Besides being unbelievably tired and unmotivated, I feel pretty good. My headaches seemed to be far and few between this past week and I've had no nausea at all.
My lower back seems to have a knot in it and it's really uncomfortable. Idk if its because I'm sleeping funny or its just a pregnancy thing but it sucks.
16w Back is already killing me. Who can recommend a good maternity belt for plus sized mamas? I couldn’t find one that fit right when I was pregnant with Z.
15 weeks and finally starting to slowly feel better. The heart burn is bad at times, but the nausea is starting to fade so I won't complain too much. I'm looking into getting a coffee with lower acid if anyone has suggestions.
I've been pretty excited because the movements are starting to get more noticeable now. I started feeling flutters at 13 weeks and thought I was insane. I've had more flutters since then, but not every day. This morning (after some coffee) I felt a huge flip happen in there and it caught me off guard.
@knottieamusements I had an anterior placenta with DD. I started feeling light flutters around 17 weeks then kicks maybe around 20 weeks. That might not be exact because it was more than 3 years ago. lol. Honestly at the time I didn't even know that was later to be feeling movement.
@knottieamusements I had an anterior placenta with DS and didn’t feel anything until 20 weeks. And it was still hit and miss for a while. Don’t remember when it started feeling more “real”. But eventually he made his wild child ways known. Kid was hardly ever still. Nothing’s changed.
@jemmerjams Definitley not necessary. I never had one. I think they’re more for if you start having any kind of issues with pain and need the extra support.
@knottieamusements I had an anterior placenta with DS, and again with this one. I forget exactly when I started feeling movement with DS, but as a STM, I feel like I’ve been getting some hints of it at almost 15 weeks now. I hate having to wait to feel the kicks!
16w3d Over the last 2-3 weeks I would have said I felt the kid like 5 or so items but FTM here and no clue, plus I have no clue if I have an anterior placenta. Only have had two u/s and they were early but nothing about anterior placenta was mentioned. I want to feel this kid! Not looking forward to the bladder and rib kicks but I want to feel movement! DH is very much looking forward to it too. Ate junk food last night and today and it tasted so good but I am SO very bloated. Hopefully this keeps me from having junk food for at least a while!!
@acciocoffee I think cold brew is supposed to be less acidic?? But it's usually higher in caffeine because they are often concentrated, so you'd want to watch your intake or dilute it with water/milk.
13w4d the nausea has subsided but I'm still ready for bed at 8:30. Random sever headaches have been creeping in at about 7pm when I'm just ready to sit down and relax, which is always a pleasure.
The dreams I have been having are crazy!! Last night I was being trapped and tortured in a women's restroom, i woke up right before my fingertips were chopped off! I have never had such vivid dreams before, they are almost nightly, so i feel like i can't get a restful night's sleep.
@jemmerjams Not necessary. I got through my last pregnancy just fine without one. I had issues and pains, but it wasn't worth wearing something uncomfortable. This time I can barely walk some days, so I need something to help take some of the baby's weight off my lower back.
@jemmerjams I used one last pregnancy and I liked it. It wasn't a miracle cure for back pain, but I thought it helped. I didn't wear it till later on when I was farther along, but not really sure when exactly.
14 weeks and in my second trimester tomorrow! Yay!!!
So, this past week has been tough. The toughest week in the entire pregnancy so far because I got bad itching, bad acid reflux, bad migraine, bad scaitica pain, hip pain, I couldn’t sleep, woke up 5-10 times a night and sooooooo hungry.
My whole first trimester I felt mostly fine besides some nausea and food aversions and literally the week before my second trimester I have about up to 8 different symptoms all in one week. Did anyone have this? if yes, did it seem to continue or was it just that one week or few days of so many different symptoms and then went away? I’ve been having a tough time this past week : (
Any good very helpful remedies for migraines? and itchiness?
@kathykalen2018 I'm sorry your feeling worse!! A lot of other ladies have suggested and tried caffeine for migraines and head aches, I know that for me, trying to sleep off a migraine is the best bet but it has to be silent and as close to pitch black as I can get the room. Taking Tylenol as well. My OB said if my headaches are bad it's better to take an amount of Tylenol that I'm help tame it instead of taking lesser doses throughout the day. But call your dr to double check. As for itchiness drink water and try to keep moisturized through out the day! Maybe try exfoliating too?
Edit: spelling is hard with a cracked phone screen
Has anyone started having braxton hicks contractions yet? I had them almost constantly from about 19 weeks on last time, and now they seem to have appeared starting at 15 weeks. Lucky me!
@kathykalen2018 - i used almond oil for the dry skin and itching last time around, and it did the trick!
@jengibre_zorro I think I am starting to have them, but my doctor was like “oh that is just uterine cramps because your uterus is expanding.” I honestly don’t know that I agree with her because what I am feeling is consistent with what people describe as Braxton-Hicks contractions. It isn’t pain, it is just tightness across my lower belly. The first one I noticed was very close to the end of week 15.
Braxton hicks: I didn't have any with DS (at least that I noticed). This time around I've been having what I think maybe some mild ones the last day or so. I'm not really sure though.
Leg cramps: I dont know if it's been said or not but if you happen to feel the cramp in your calf coming on, flex your foot and that should stop it. Or walking it off helps too, if you're able to do so. With DS it seemed like I got them every night, despite the amount of water I was drinking.
I know there are a few ladies who have been experiencing acne, so I wanted to share my experience at the dermatologist:
I've been prescribed an antibiotic cleanser which is being paid for 100% by www.genrx2u.com - my doctor called in the prescription to them to get the $0 copay. I tried to get it from Walgreens, but my insurance wouldn't cover it, which I believe is common.
I've also been prescribed a topical ointment that will reduce the redness that has come from my hormonal/cystic acne. He said this ointment will likely take a few months to take the redness away completely.
He said to continue using CeraVe or Cetaphil cleanser, washing only with my hands - not to use a washcloth or a scrubber, like I recommended to @acciocoffee earlier this week (sorry).
I'll be able to get the topical tomorrow from Walgreens, but have to wait until the company who's paid for my cleanser to ship mine.
I am happy to keep y'all posted on the progress, just let me know!
ETA: He recommended I use CeraVe Moisturizing Cream to alleviate that dry flaky skin. He said he likes that cream best because it has ceramides, which your body ordinarily would be creating to keep moisture locked in. He said my normal Oil-free Neutrogena moisturizer wouldn't cut it, so I picked some CeraVe up from the drug store and it feels like really good stuff! Comes in a tub.
Re: Symptoms Week of 4/23
My toothbrush lost again. It has been a few weeks, and I thought I was past gagging on it, but no.
Otherwise- the weird dreams continue to be weird and I continue to want french fries.
RLP is fun. Found out last week I have an anterior placenta, so it will likely be a few more weeks before I feel Blast.
i thought I experienced rlp before but I think it was just a small cramp. Was in the mall yesterday and had to sit down because of the discomfort. It was so sudden! Quick but potent! Overall I'm still exhausted.

Oh my goodness, the sex dreams. Phew.
RLP at night has me restless. Thankfully I can breathe through my nose again so I’m not tossing and turning as much.
Other than that I’m craving cashews like no ones business. Plus side, it’s at least healthy, downside it’s an expensive craving.
Still a bit nauseous but I haven't taken Diclectin in a few days and I'm managing. Win! I have zero motivation lately, and my house is a disaster. Still getting headaches very often. I'm definitely feeling movements, happening more and more frequently. So much earlier than my first pregnancy!

I'm feeling more stretching for sure. Last night I struggled to get comfortable even on my side. Just felt like my stomach was being pulled taught.
Pretty sure I felt him last night, just a quick movement across the center of my stomach.
