Awesome, thank you @bettyvonsomethingstein! It's hot where I live too but March is hard to predict. Either way, my husband says I give off a ton of heat so I like the idea of breathable anyway.
Bumping this thread- now that babies are here how do you like your carriers? I am in search for a lightweight, good for hot weather carrier, not a wrap.
I jave an an old ergo 360 but it doesn’t have infant insert and it’s just so bulky. Any recommendations that you like?
Yes! The free to grow Tula doesn't require an insert. The coastal is the mesh/summer version. I had a lillebaby for my first and it wasn't as comfortable IMO. Either one is kind of an investment. You could always find a local baby wearing group where you could try out a variety before taking the plunge. Buy Buy Baby also tends to have staff who will happily help you try them out in store.
Does anyone own a Tula Coast? Thinking of getting one for summer. I have the canvas one I used for my first son and now am using it for Charlie. Is it really better for warmer weather?
I still wear my four, three, and one year old in my Tula on my back. The bigger they get the more they can observe on your back. Plus, them being on your back vs your front helps your back a ton.
@mmom3 I have a Tula Coast and it's definitely cooler than a regular Tula. Well, I'll say that I still get pretty warm from the body heat, but babe doesn't get as warm and sweaty.
I bathe in baby carriers. woven wraps, ring slings, soft structured carriers. cashmere, cotton, linen, hemp, tencel, silk...handwoven, machine woven...every size up to 7. Front carries, hip carries, back carries... ask me anything.
Which one do you recommend for under 3 months and one that isn't too warm to wear?
Has anybody had success carrying twins in a Boba wrap? I know it's not the traditional way to use it, but the twin carriers are out of my price range. Actually, everything is out of my price range.
@megpeg thank you, I'll take a look! I didn't know that for twins! I even looked on Pinterest too haha. I was kind of looking for a quick fix right now, as spare money doesn't come around often for us so I don't know when we'd be able to get them new wraps (especially since I am trying to scrape money for my cloth diaper stash) and the 2 Boba wraps I have were a Christmas present from my mother. That's why I was asking about the Boba in particular. I'll see if I can use my Bobas with the Pins I find with the Moby wraps, though I know those are different.
I have a boba wrap...borrowing from a friend. I looked at a few videos and finally after 10 attempts, I got the wrap on. I couldn't get my babe in it though!! LOL
I'm thinking of buying an easy, not too much material wrap or sling. I have a carrier that is not the material kind ..I don't know the name of it...and babe doesn't like being in there either.
Any quick recommendations for a material style wrap or sling that is easy and not too much material to work with?

I started out with the k'tan years ago. There is a slight learning curve, but nothing like a wrap. Do you have any specialty stores that sell the carriers or even buybuybaby near you? You might be able to touch and feel there. The local stores near us has groups and people that can show you. Good luck. Keep trying. Wearing takes time with some kiddos, but it's a lifesaver down the road.
I use the boppy carrier because I found I can do it myself without help but to be fair I don’t wear her much. I liked that it has the shoulder straps so I’m not tying too much. I use it when I’m feeling sleepy and we’re still awake. We have the ergo 360 for when she gets a little older. I got both from BuyBuyBaby
I just wanted to throw it out there that I got a Free To Grow Tula last week and HIGHLY recommend it, if anyone was considering it. It adjusts from infant to a standard, 7 to 45 lbs. It's just a couple snaps to adjust it, super easy, and it's a lot more comfortable than needing an infant insert.
@ashleyf911 does it get to hot? I have an ergo that I got when I had my son and it was way to hot so I only used it twice. I’ve been considering getting a free 2 grow but don’t want to spend the money if It’s to hot.
@katester91 I got the coast version, so it has the mesh panel in it. That helps a ton. Ellie got warm, but just enough to put her to sleep. I have an ergo too and it's definitely not as hot as the ergo.
My Tula broke and I had to buy a new one. I got one of the "free to grow" and oh my gosh it is awesome! The baby fits in it already and it's easy to adjust between different size kids. I am probably done wrapping...which I have a love hate relationship with.

Noticed the Beco Gemini makes an X back which looks more comfortable than the single strap across the back under the neck
