UGH looks like my pharmacy is out of PIO in sesame oil I have 2 vials from last months order but i just wanted to order some more in case I needed it. They offered me the compounded PIO in olive oil but said my insurance probably won't cover it WTF?!?!? He told me that all the pharmacy's are working together and doesn't know when his next shipment is coming in. I would like to have PIO that is covered by my insurance.. where are you guys getting yours from?
@ndz2018 My pharmacy last time I ordered warned me that there's a shortage till May. My gf was able to order thru MDR with no issues.

Has anyone used NSAID'S before transfer (I know you're not supposed to take them after transfer) to help with inflammation and uterine contractions? I'm doing my own experiment this cycle. Deets in spoiler because loss is mentioned:
In 2016 when I got pregnant spontaneously, I was fighting a really bad, painful bought of parvovirus. Every joint from the neck down was swollen and frozen stiff. I couldn't even walk. I was off work and basically laid on the couch not able to move. At the time, I didn't know there was a chance I could be pregnant (I wasn't tracking O and we only BD'D once because DH was away on business). My doctor told me to take the max amount of Advil every day to combat my joint inflammation (this lasted for 3 weeks). Now, I stopped as soon as I realized I was pregnant, although it looks like the damage to proper implantation was already done. With all this endo and inflammation talk as of late, I've been wondering if my Advil regimen during parvo allowed the embryo to implant? It's the only time in the 4.5 years prior that I was able to get pregnant. Taking so much Advil after implantation was also probably what led to the demise of the pregnancy, so I'm only looking at taking Advil the few days before transfer. My plan is to take 2 doses of extra strength Advil a day until the day before transfer, and then no Advil after. I found a study that showed NSAID treatment (they used piroxicam rather than ibuprofen) administered once on the morning of ET increased clinical pregnancy rates compared to the control group (which was statistically significant). I also found a FET protocol sheet from CCRH that advised patients to take 600 mg of Ibuprofen the morning of transfer since it has been shown to increase implantation rates. Anyway, it all has me wondering so that's what I'm doing this cycle. Anyone else heard of this?

@tosh24 Can you take Tyneol in lieu of Advil? I know my doctor says no to Advil but Tynenol is ok. Your study is very interesting. My mom told me the only thing she took while pregnant with me was advil and believes it contributed with some of my back teeth being weaker when a child. Not sure how she came to that but we talked about it around transfer time.

Congrats on being PUPO @mcgeeva. I think I mentioned I’ve been on 30 mg of Nifedipine daily for hypertension (I tended to run 140/90 - with some white coat syndrome giving me higher readings in office) for almost the last year and a half (since next OB visit after my first *TW* miscarriage). It’s a really low dose and I’m not entirely convinced it does anything, but I don’t notice any side effects or anything. And safe through pregnancy, which is why my OB picked it for me. So hopefully you won’t need meds, but if you do, it’s not the end of the world.
Transfer complete! They said everything went well. Perfect placement. My bladder was actually too full so I had to pee twice but only for five seconds. Picture in spoiler.

Thanks, @dragonette505 I have NO plan to take any Advil after transfer - I know that's not safe! I'm just talking about pre-transfer to reduce inflammation because my RE does not give any antibiotics or steroids for transfers ever. Just trying to combat the inflammation on my own and just had an "aha" that I was on a lot of Ibuprofen prior to getting pregnant 18 months ago.
@kristimh80 No, can't do Tylenol because it's not an anti-inflammatory so wouldn't give the desired effect. I'm going to do the Advil pre-transfer but not do any post-transfer.

@tosh24 Ahh that makes sense! Idk why that idea has never occurred to me before.
For those of you have had a transfer before...have you had a weird AF following it? I expected mine to be super heavy detoxing from the lining thickness and meds. So far, it's been unusually light than what I normally deal with. I shouldn't complain I guess, just seems odd. lol

@tosh24 now that you mentioned it, I took ibuprofen almost every day (400 mg) until the day before my transfer bc of mild cramping (estrogen) and I got pregnant. My RE said it was fine, as long as it was before the transfer.
tosh24 I feel you... I didn't even know at first why I was on the antibiotics and had thought i'd be doing intralipids, but I guess my doc didn't think I needed to go that direction. At any rate, for sure it can harm anything ahead of transfer so I would go for it. I even imagine, like I said, that the first few days after transfer it *probably* couldn't hurt because the baby wont even be attached yet, realistically kristimh80 Ive only had the one transfer (TM which ended in mc) but ive heard other ladies say their AF was either normal or lighter. I haven't really heard anyone say it was heavier.

Thanks lady! That’s one they suggested I should know tomorrow. Rather be on meds to avoid any placenta issues again for sure.

Yay @funkykey! So glad all went well. When did they schedule your beta? I have to go back Monday for a progesterone and estrogen check. If they have procedures on the 29th I can go in then. If not I wait until the 30th. Praying someone has a retrieval or transfer on the 29th!
Yay @funkykey! So glad all went well. When did they schedule your beta?
My beta is on the 30th.
Last time, I didn't POAS once. I was terrified. The time before, I did do an HPT, and when it was negative, I was devastated.
Really not sure what I'm going to do this time.
@kristimh80 - Not sure if it's the same thing, but for me, I did have unusually heavy periods when I started medication on CD1 or CD2. I think some of the medications lead to more clotting than usual, so I'd think of those flows as "heavy". Then when I'd cycle without them, some of my periods seemed "light" by comparison.
But really, since I've been doing treatments, my cycles have been all over the map. Before treatment, when I was just TTC with TI, my cycles were pretty predictable - usually 28-30 days, with O between CD 11-13. Then on clomid, my cycles were totally whacked. I'd have a really late O or a 26 day cycle or a 34 day cycle. Irregular flow just seemed like part of it.
@funkykey@laurengon82 You guys have good points! Usually, day 2 is my heaviest day so was just weird it was there but randomly. In a way I'm kind of thankful it's not kicking my butt as a reminder. For a moment, I thought...I hope my body just isn't giving up already lol Honestly, I'd be content if all AF's were this easy.

@kristimh80 I had a weirdly light period (for me - most other ppl probably would have considered it heavy!) after my medicated cycle. I thought it was odd since I fully expected it to be hell after all that Estrace. I did have cramps which I don't usually get (although I have gotten cramps every AF since my IVF cycle...) but that was the only thing that was worse than usual - everything else was better!

I just looked up the post and saw these articles:
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-35418779
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/04/16/taking-paracetamol-pregnancy-may-make-grandchildren-infertile/
https://medicalxpress.com/news/2018-04-painkillers-pregnancy-affect-baby-future.html
Again, I honestly don't know much about that...
In my case, the doxycycline is supposed to be reducing generalized inflammation
https://www.hindawi.com/journals/mi/2015/329418/
https://www.pharmacytimes.com/publications/issue/2016/may2016/tetracyclines-multitasking-fighters-of-inflammation
I'm not sure what to tell you... like I said... a girl literally just posted about this two days ago, so I wanted to mention it, but you have to do what you think is best. I'm pretty sure before implantation none of these drugs get to the babies.
sorry I cant be more helpful

@kristimh80 No, can't do Tylenol because it's not an anti-inflammatory so wouldn't give the desired effect. I'm going to do the Advil pre-transfer but not do any post-transfer.

For those of you have had a transfer before...have you had a weird AF following it? I expected mine to be super heavy detoxing from the lining thickness and meds. So far, it's been unusually light than what I normally deal with. I shouldn't complain I guess, just seems odd. lol

Mine is done too. I am now officially PUPO.
This transfer was exciting as my embie was hatching. The other two embies, my last two FETs, I couldn't see them coming out of their shells like today's.
Posting this again, so we have it:

Great news @funkykey and @J1006!!!!
@dragonette505 Happy Transfer Day!!!!! Hope it goes off without a hitch and your embaby snuggles in there for the next 9 months!
